Abstract

Determination of the optimal route in transportation activities is one of the major problems in transportation. Therefore, efficient techniques deserve our utmost attention to detect optimal routes. In this study, a novel method called Cluster Path Covering (CPC) has been developed and introduced to identify a route based on a sequence of location points on a network. There are already models to minimize the total path cost between the pair of nodes following a kind of sequence. However, our method aims to minimize the path cost, including the neighbourhood accessibility of the path nodes on the network. One of the major challenges for the new model is to reveal the accessibility costs between the nodes. The methodology presents the CPC method clustering the location points on a network and indicating the optimum point for each cluster. Then, the CPC method generates the best path by connecting the specific location points representing the clusters. Moreover, the shortest covering of the neighbourhood path problem (SCNPP) is introduced in this study. The novel CPC method is utilized for SCNPP, a distinctive version of the shortest covering path problem (SCPP). The performance of the CPC method is then tested on two different benchmark networks. According to the results, it provides robust and efficient outcomes for decreasing the routes' transportation costs (e.g., distances). The issues that can be solved via the CPC method include the accessibility costs of public transportation paths and the locations of stops by minimizing the costs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

35. Transportation detouring and facility location optimization after the flood in the Black Sea Region

Abstract

This study contains the solutions for detouring after the flood in the Black Sea Region in Turkey back in the summer of 2021. Moreover, it proposes an emergency support facility location in the vicinity of the disaster area. However, the region's problem is lacking a detouring plan for transportation management in the case of road closures due to flood effects such as damaged bridges or landslides. Since the region is prone to heavy precipitations and the terrain is appropriate for possible floods and landslides, the region's transportation management during or after a disaster is vital. In this manner, Dynamic Programming (DP) is utilized for arranging the detours for the transportation road network in the area of disaster. Furthermore, Stochastic Based Optimization (SBO) techniques are powerful in solving network optimization problems. Hence, location analysis via Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) is conducted for siting an emergency support facility according to the spatial characteristics of the road network. Results indicate that although detouring lengthens the transportation paths between origins and destinations, disasters such as floods can obligate such interventions. Moreover, the deterioration of a network link plays a critical role because it changes the spatial topology. Abstract

The Russia-Ukraine war, its reasons and impact have been discussed by diplomats, politicians and intellectuals worldwide. While many accuse the Russian leadership and in particular Russian President Vladimir Putin for the war, some others criticize Western countries and principally the US for NATO’s eastward expansion and for disregarding Russia’s security concerns. Chinese intellectuals with diverse academic and political backgrounds have also contributed to these discussions and offered their assessments about the war in Ukraine as well as what kind of a policy China should follow. However, because of the sensitive relationship between the authoritarian party-state and Chinese intellectuals, Chinese intellectuals are in a delicate situation compared to intellectuals in the West. Despite this, the Chinese state’s relatively balanced and neutral stance and decision of not openly taking sides in the war provided a ground for Chinese intellectuals to publicly share their thoughts about both the war itself and China’s position towards Russia’s aggression. Nevertheless, due to its close relationship with Moscow, the Chinese state allows only a restricted space for intellectuals to share their views about the war, especially to anti-Russia voices. This study surveys these debates among Chinese intellectuals about the war in Ukraine as well as the policies that the Chinese leadership should follow., Rusya-Ukrayna savaşı, savaşın nedenleri ve etkileri dünyanın dört bir yanındaki diplomatlar, politikacılar ve aydınlar tarafından tartışılmaktadır. Tartışmaya katılanları birçoğu savaşın gerekçesi olarak Rus liderliğini ve özellikle Rusya Devlet Başkanı Vladimir Putin'i gösterirken, bazıları ise Batılı ülkeleri, özellikle de ABD'yi NATO'nun doğuya doğru genişlemesi ve Rusya'nın güvenlik kaygılarını göz ardı etmeleri nedeniyle eleştirmektedir. Farklı akademik ve siyasi arka planlara sahip Çinli aydınlar da bu tartışmalara katılarak Ukrayna'daki savaş ve Çin'in nasıl bir politika izlemesi gerektiği konusunda değerlendirmelerde bulunmuşlardır. Ancak otoriter parti-devleti ile Çinli aydınlar arasındaki hassas ilişki nedeniyle Çinli aydınlar Batı'daki aydınlara göre hassas bir konumdadır. 48. Evolution of the Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy: A Holistic Investigation of Global Outputs with Bibliometric Analysis.

Abstract

Objective: This bibliometric study identifies the studies, institutions and journals with the highest impact by analyzing the articles published about percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and further to establish trend topics and to holistically summarize and interpret collaboration among countries. Materials and Methods: Studies published about PCNL between 1975-2020 were downloaded from the Web of Science (WoS) database. They were analyzed using bibliometric and statistical methods. Spearman's correlation coefficient was used for correlation analysis. Non-linear regression analysis was used to estimate the number of publications in the coming years. Results: A total of 4170 publications were found and 1936 (46.4%) of these publications were articles. We observed that the articles on PCNL have gradually increased in an exponential trend. Top 5 countries having contributed most to the literature ranked as Turkiye (n=376), USA (n=332), China (n=323), India (n=210) and Iran (n=123). Top 3 most active institutions were ranked as Guangzhou Medical University (n=63), University of Health Sciences Turkiye, İstanbul Haseki Training and Research Hospital (n=52) and Başkent University (n=32). Conclusion: In our study, we observed that there has been an increase in the number of PCNL-related publications over the course of time. Besides, we determined that recent publications, mainly focused on the success and reliability of PCNL. In this context, there has been a steady increase in the number of studies on the use of Guy's scoring system for preoperative selection of eligible patients and surgical approaches such as mini PCNL, prone position. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has presented an extraordinary and unprecedented situation. In their efforts to end the pandemic, countries worldwide followed different approaches to combat the virus. Among these, China emerged as the prime example of an authoritarian model of virus management, whereas South Korea managed to slow down the pandemic with a liberal democratic approach. Although both were successful in pandemic management, China and South Korea have different and contrasting images in the international area. This study analyzes how China's and South Korea's pandemic management models and their international reception differ from each other. It claims that while both models were largely applauded domestically, in the international sphere, China, after early acclaim, ended up with a more negative and controversial image, whereas South Korea created a relatively more positively regarded model. Abstract

Objective: Although the number of global studies on swimming has increased, there are still no bibliometric studies in the literature. This study aimed to present a medical perspective by examining scientific articles published in the field of swimming sports with statistical methods.Material and Method: Articles on swimming published between 1980 and 2021 were obtained from the Web of Science database. Spearman's correlation coefficient was used for correlation analysis. Network visualization maps were used to identify trending topics.Results: A total of 21732 publications were found. 2392 (70.5%) of these publications were articles. The top 3 contributing countries to the literature were USA (462, 19.3%), UK (331, 10.4), and Australia (298, 12.1%). The top 2 most active institutions were Universidade Do Porto (n=93), and Australian Institute of Sport (n=82). The most active journals with the highest number of articles were International Journal of Sports Medicine (n=171), and Journal of Sports Sciences (n=150). According to the average number of citations per article, the top most influential journal was Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology (citation: 51.8).Conclusion: The most studied subjects related to medicine and health in swimming were blood lactate, heart rate, fatigue, shoulder, body composition, anthropometry, oxygen uptake, oxidative stress, disability, energy cost, electromyography, oxygen consumption, physiology, motivation, physical activity, aging, muscle strength, shoulder pain, testosterone, core temperature, and stress. General topics studied in recent years were athletic performance, physiology, stress, strength, disability, paralympic, electromyography, youth, shoulder pain, sports, force, competition, kinetics, adolescent, sport, swimming training, and aging., Amaç: Yüzme ile ilgili küresel çalışmaların sayısı artmasına rağmen literatürde hala bibliyometrik çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Bu çalışma, yüzme konusunda spor bilimeleri alanında yayınlanmış bilimsel makaleleri istatistiksel yöntemlerle inceleyerek tıbbi bir bakış açısı sunmayı amaçladı.Gereç ve Yöntem: 1980-2021 yılları arasında yayınlanan yüzme ile ilgili makaleler Web of Science veri tabanından elde edildi. Korelasyon analizi için Spearman korelasyon katsayısı kullanıldı. Trend olan konuları belirlemek için ağ görselleştirme haritaları kullanıldı.Bulgular: Toplam 21732 yayın bulundu.
