The nascent field of microbiome science is transitioning from a descriptive approach of cataloging taxa and functions present in an environment to applying multi-omics methods to investigate microbiome dynamics and function. A large number of new tools and algorithms have been designed and used for very specific purposes on samples collected by individual investigators or groups. While these developments have been quite instructive, the ability to compare microbiome data generated by many groups of researchers is impeded by the lack of standardized application of bioinformatics methods. Additionally, there are few examples of broad bioinformatics workflows that can process metagenome, metatranscriptome, metaproteome and metabolomic data at scale, and no central hub that allows processing, or provides varied omics data that are findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR). Here, we review some of the challenges that exist in analyzing omics data within the microbiome research sphere, and provide context on how the National Microbiome Data Collaborative has adopted a standardized and open access approach to address such challenges.

The purpose of this study is to understand how the conceptions of identity and violence are developed for university students which care for women in situations of vulnerability, through the Programa Casa das Mulheres (Women's House Program) in the municipality of Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This program is responsible for care and referral through the Protection Network to Combat Violence against Women in the city. This study also aims to verify how the exchange of knowledge between them (students and women served) can enable a greater empowerment of both parties in relation to the concept of violence.

This article analyses the relationship and tensions between cosmopolitan­ism and particularism in the way in which the subject of exile is broached in the life stories, works and ideas of the Portuguese writers Adolfo Casais Monteiro, Jorge de Sena and Vitor Ramos, and scientists Antonio Aniceto Monteiro, Antonio Brotas, Alfredo Pereira Gomes, José Morgado and Ruy Luis Gomes, who lived in Brazil between 1945 and 1974. The careers and ex­periences of these individuals were characterised by a way of relating to the world marked by continuous exclusion from the centres of hegemonic power, as well as by the establishment of connections and networks of varying degrees. In this sense, this article also focuses on the personal and collec­tive trajectories of the characters and how it is related to the boundaries of belonging that they established during their lives.

A formação e o modo de atuação política do núcleo de imigrantes e exilados portugueses que, em diferentes momentos, constituíram o Portugal Democrático Qornal anti-salazarisca publi­cado a partir de São Paulo entre 1956 e 1975), será contextualizada através das seguintes fases: 1) integração: sobre os motivos da partida de Portugal e a inserção inicial na sociedade brasileira; 2) novas levas: a chegada de novas e expressivas lideranças políticas e intelectuais que ajudam a compor uma rede internacional de trocas entre os anti-salazaristas; 3) unificação das tendências: as cisões e "unidades" entre os anti-salazaristas em torno da questão colonial e da práxis política; 4) 1964, alteração do contexto político: a organização do jornal após o golpe militar brasileiro.
