Objective: to understand the knowledge of aged women about Sexually Transmitted Infections. Methods: a qualitative study with 11 aged women from a social group at a Basic Health Unit. Data was collected individually through semi-structured interviews, coded using NVIVO software, and analyzed using Thematic Content Analysis. Results: four categories emerged: Sexually Transmitted Infections known by the elderly; Different forms of transmission; Forms of prevention and detection; and Barriers to Knowledge and Sexually Transmitted Infections care. Conclusion: participants' knowledge of Sexually Transmitted Infections was observed, especially HIV, syphilis, and gonorrhea. There was a gap in knowledge about the distinction between HIV infection and AIDS. The lack of information about active sexuality is a barrier that interferes with safe sexual practice. Contributions to practice: understanding the knowledge of aged women about Sexually Transmitted Infections provides information that can help plan and implement measures to prevent these infections.

The study aimed to analyze the trajectory and professional practice of graduates of a Residency Program in Obstetric Nursing. It was qualitative, exploratory-descriptive research carried out with twenty-nine members of the residency program in obstetric nursing private in a higher education institution in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from March to July 2021 and interpreted by content analysis. The following categories emerged from the data analysis: Contribution of training to the current scenario of maternal and child health; Difficulties and challenges: the confrontations of training; and from the training received to the expected training. It was revealed that all graduates were female, being few with previous experience when entering the residency program and, after completion, most continued to work in various spaces of maternal and child and obstetric care.

Introduction Neuropsychiatric disorders are the leading cause of disability worldwide, as seen in cases such as depression, anxiety, bipolar mood disorder and schizophrenia, which can be developed or exacerbated by the use of psychoactive substances. Most mental disorders have an early onset, often leading to early and/or permanent disability, increasing the need and cost of healthcare. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the identification of the epidemiological profile of these cases in the South of Brazil in order to enhance the diagnosis and reduce the costs associated with managing these disorders. Objectives The present study aimed to analyze statistical data regarding hospitalizations related to mental disorders caused by the use of psychoactive substances and alcohol in the southern region of Brazil, highlighting the pathological scenario and identifying the most prevalent profiles of these disorders in this region. Methods A cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective, and quantitative study was conducted on hospitalizations of individuals diagnosed with mental and behavioral disorders due to the use of psychoactive substances and alcohol in the states of the Southern region of Brazil (Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul) between February 2020 and December 2022. Data of January 2020 were not available. The data used were collected through the Department of Health Informatics of the Brazilian Unified Health System (DATASUS) in the “Hospital Information System of SUS” section, gathering information regarding the nature of the care, age range, gender, and ethnicity of the patients. Results The study covers the years 2020 to 2022, indicating a total of 81,608 hospitalizations, with the year 2022 having the highest number of cases (≈ 37.13%), followed by 2021 (≈ 33.30%) and 2020 (≈ 29.55%). The states with the highest number of hospitalizations were Rio Grande do Sul (≈ 54.90%), Paraná (≈ 29.29%), and Santa Catarina (≈ 15.79%). Urgent hospitalizations accounted for ≈ 87.29% of the total. The most affected age group was 30 to 39 years old (≈ 25.61%). Men were more affected than women (≈ 81.70% and ≈ 18.28%, respectively). Caucasians accounted for ≈ 64.29% of the hospitalizations. The average length of stay was 20.8 days, and the mortality rate was 0.32%. Conclusions There is a clear increase in the number of hospitalizations related to mental disorders caused by the use of psychoactive substances in the period from 2020 to 2022 in the southern region of Brazil, with the highest number of cases in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The most affected population consisted of Caucasian men aged 30 to 39 years old. Furthermore, these results may be related to the increasing trend of psychoactive substance use among the Brazilian population and also the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a period of underreporting due to social isolation. Introduction Epilepsy is one of the most common serious brain illness, with symptoms influenced by multiple risk factors and a strong genetic predisposition, rather than having a single expression and cause¹. Neuropsychiatric symptoms in epilepsy can encompass manifestations such as mood alterations, anxiety, sleep disturbances, psychosis, and behavioral disorders. While the motor and sensory manifestations of epileptic seizures are widely recognized, neuropsychiatric symptoms accompanying epilepsy are often underestimated. Therefore, it is essential to understand the most prevalent epidemiological profile of these patients to improve the diagnosis and management of these symptoms. Objectives Our goal was to evaluate the neuropsychiatric behavior of epilepsy patients in Brazilian over the past 3 years through hospitalization data in order to outline an epidemiological and behavioral profile. Methods A cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective, and quantitative study was conducted on hospitalizations of individuals simultaneously diagnosed with epilepsy, schizotypal and delusional disorders, and mood disorders in all five regions of Brazil (South, Southeast, Midwest, North, and Northeast) between February 2020 and December 2022. Data from January 2020 were not available. The data used were collected through the Department of Health Informatics of the Brazilian Unified Health System (DATASUS) in the “Hospital Information System of SUS” section, gathering information regarding the nature of care, age range, gender, and ethnicity of the patients. Results The analysis covers the years 2020 to 2022, totaling 503,045 hospitalizations. In 2022, the highest number of cases occurred (≈ 37.55%), followed by 2021 (≈ 33.62%) and 2020 (≈ 28.81%). Urgent hospitalizations represented ≈ 90.85% of the total. The most affected age group was 30 to 39 years old (≈ 18.30%). Men were more affected than women (≈ 52.03% and ≈ 47.96%, respectively), and Caucasians accounted for ≈ 36.07% of the hospitalizations. The average length of stay was 19.1 days, and the mortality rate was 1.4%. Conclusions Thus, there is a gradual and annual increase in the number of hospitalizations during the observed period. While there is a minimal disparity between the affected genders, it is evident that the profile of male, caucasian, and adult patients is the most prevalent. Moreover, the predominantly urgent nature of hospitalizations points to an alarming scenario regarding this issue. From the analysis of the data obtained in the study, there is a clear need for interventions capable of reducing the prevalence of hospitalizations for neuropsychiatric symptoms in epilepsy patients in Brazil. This study conducts a comprehensive epidemiological analysis of hospitalizations for Schizophrenia, Schizotypal, and Delirium Disorders in Rio Grande do Sul (RS) over the past five years. By revealing these patterns, it enhances our understanding of regional mental health dynamics and offers insights for intervention strategies, resource planning, and improved mental healthcare. The ultimate goal is to advance more effective and accessible mental healthcare in RS and beyond. Objectives This study aims to analyze the prevalence and epidemiological profile of hospitalizations due to psychiatric disorders to assist in the diagnosis and outcome of affected patients. Methods A cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective, and quantitative study was conducted regarding hospitalizations for Schizophrenia, Schizotypal Disorders, and Delirium in the state of RS between January 2018 and November 2022. Data were collected from the Department of Informatics of the Brazilian Unified Health System (DATASUS) in the “Hospital Information System of SUS” section, focusing on the nature of care, age group, gender, and ethnicity of the patients. The information was aggregated over the five-year period based on the four mentioned descriptors and subsequently analyzed to establish a profile of hospitalizations during that period. Results The analysis spans from 2018 to 2022, encompassing a total of 28,345 hospitalizations. In 2019, there was the highest number of cases (22.21%), followed by 2018 (21.08%). Urgent care admissions constituted 85.34% of the total. The age group most affected was 35 to 39 years (11.8%). Men were more affected than women (60.18%), and the majority of hospitalizations were among the Caucasian ethnicity (75.12%). The average length of stay was 23.7 days, and the mortality rate stood at 0.26%. Conclusions The increasing trend in hospitalizations, peaking in 2019, highlights the need for preventive measures. Urgent admissions (85.34%) underscore the demand for accessible mental health resources. Men in the 35 to 39 age group are disproportionately affected, suggesting specific risk factors. The predominance of Caucasian ethnicity emphasizes the need for culturally sensitive care. A longer average length of stay (23.7 days) underscores treatment complexity, while a low mortality rate (0.26%) signals effective medical care. Objetivo: mapear a produção do conhecimento científico acerca dos parâmetros fisiológicos e comportamentais de recém-nascidos à termo submetidos ao primeiro banho no contexto hospitalar. Método: revisão de escopo desenvolvida em seis bases de dados, com buscas realizadas em setembro de 2022. Foram incluídos estudos experimentais ou observacionais, disponíveis em português, inglês e/ou espanhol, sem recorte temporal. Seguiu-se as diretrizes do Joanna Briggs Institute e do Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews. Resultados: foram selecionadas 22 produções para a síntese de evidências, as quais foram publicizadas entre 1981 e 2022. Parâmetros de choro, agitação e temperatura corporal são influenciados no primeiro banho do RN. A maioria dos estudos recomendou banho de imersão, adiado por 24 horas, realizado por profissionais de saúde, no quarto da mãe/alojamento conjunto, com uso de aquecedor radiante após o banho. Conclusão: todo banho impacta na estabilidade fisiológica e comportamental do RN. Porém, o primeiro banho de imersão adiado por no mínimo 24 horas mantém o RN mais calmo, diminui a incidência de hipotermia, aumenta taxas de aleitamento materno exclusivo e tempo de contato pele a pele.

A alimentação adequada é indispensável para o desenvolvimento e crescimento infantil, sendo assim é de extrema importância ter um instrumento de orientação, um material de fácil acesso e entendimento, que possibilite estreitamento de vínculo entre profissionais e usuários da atenção primária. A utilização de álbum seriado como ferramenta de educação, promove apoio às orientações sobre alimentação complementar transmitidas aos familiares e cuidadores de crianças menores de dois anos por ser um instrumento tanto visual quanto verbal. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo validar o conteúdo e a aparência do álbum seriado fotográfico: formas de apresentação da alimentação complementar para crianças menores de dois anos. O trabalho refere-se à aplicabilidade do álbum seriado fotográfico no contexto da alimentação complementar na Atenção Básica de Saúde para profissionais de saúde de um município da região central do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Todos os participantes consideram o álbum bem ilustrado e de fácil compreensão, em relação a descrição dos conteúdos para profissionais, todos eles afirmaram que é um material de apoio, facilitador na hora das orientações. Dessa forma, tanto o conteúdo quanto a aparência do álbum seriado fotográfico foram considerados adequados pelos profissionais.

Objective: to build care gerontotechnologies to help family caregivers with the difficulties experienced in the context of elderly people with Alzheimer's disease. Methods: strategic action research carried out with seven family caregivers of elderly people with Alzheimer's disease and 12 health academics from a university. Data was gathered from the family caregivers using a semi-structured interview. Three focus groups were held with the academics. The data was submitted to the discursive textual analysis technique. Results: eight difficulties experienced by family caregivers emerged, corresponding to cognitive aspects, Activities of Daily Living and issues relating to family care. It was possible to construct 14 care gerontotechnologies in product form. Conclusion: gerontotechnologies were built to help family caregivers with the difficulties experienced by elderly people living with Alzheimer's disease. Contributions to practice: the gerontotechnologies developed have the potential to contribute to the care process, since they can be used by family caregivers on a daily basic and can be adapted to each reality, based on the unique needs of each elderly person.

Objetivo: descrever como as crianças percebem o tratamento quimioterápico e sua internação neste período. Método: estudo descritivo exploratório, de abordagem qualitativa, realizado com seis crianças em tratamento quimioterápico internadas em unidade hemato-oncológica de um hospital-ensino, localizado na região central do Rio Grande do Sul. Realizaram-se entrevistas individualizadas, gravadas em mídia digital e transcritas na íntegra. As entrevistas foram submetidas à análise temática. Resultados: identificaram-se três categorias temáticas: percepções da criança quanto ao tratamento quimioterápico; principais desafios apontados durante a internação pela criança em tratamento quimioterápico; ludicidade como aliada no enfrentamento da internação para quimioterapia em crianças. Conclusão: considera-se que a criança internada em tratamento quimioterápico tem conhecimento da importância da terapêutica para a cura da doença. A importância da ludicidade e do brincar nas hospitalizações também foram ratificadas no estudo, visto que estas apresentam-se como estratégias de enfrentamento do processo de adoecimento por parte da criança internada em tratamento oncológico.

La sottotitolazione, modalità traduttiva largamente utilizzata in Croazia, costituisce un tipo specifico di traduzione audiovisiva, la cui realizzazione richiede l’uso di tecniche particolari. Data la natura effimera dei sottotitoli (rimangono sullo schermo per la durata massima di sei secondi), finora in Croazia sono state svolte pochissime analisi traduttive e linguistiche di testi sottotitolati, benché si tratti di testi rivolti al vasto pubblico. Il presente contributo prende in esame il tema succitato dal punto di vista dell’italianistica croata, analizzando le modalità traduttive adottate nella sottotitolazione dal croato all’italiano del premiato cortometraggio spalatino Ritki Zrak (Aria rarefatta), girato nel 2016. In primo luogo viene descritta la varietà linguistica utilizzata nel film, classificabile come parlata giovanile della città di Spalato; in questa sezione viene sviluppata un’analisi sia sociolinguistica che dialettologica della varietà in questione. In seguito, vengono presentate le strategie di traduzione utilizzate solitamente nella sottotitolazione. L’analisi sarà svolta seguendo i modelli teorici proposti per l’analisi di questo tipo testuale, in particolare il modello di Gottlieb e quello di Lomheim, entrambi incentrati su una tassonomia di procedimenti il cui fine principale è di mantenere nel testo di arrivo il maggior numero di informazioni semantiche, stilistiche e culturali del testo di partenza. Particolare interesse sarà dedicato al trattamento degli elementi culturospecifici, problematici dal punto di vista traduttivo; nella cultura d’arrivo, infatti, molto spesso sono inesistenti e il traduttore deve trovare la soluzione migliore che resti il più fedele possibile alla cultura di partenza. Infine, sulla base dell’analisi condotta, verranno analizzate le caratteristiche del sottotitolaggio come tecnica di traduzione audiovisiva e si cercherà di fornire osservazioni generali sull’orientamento del metatesto in questo tipo di traduzione.

Objetivo: analisar o conhecimento dos profissionais de saúde da Atenção Básica sobre o preenchimento da Caderneta de Saúde da Criança. Metodologia: Recorte de uma pesquisa ação realizada com 59 profissionais de saúde, sendo sete médicos, dez cirurgiões dentistas e 42 enfermeiros que atuavam na Atenção Básica num município da região central do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Os dados foram coletados de abril a julho de 2021, por meio de questionário online e analisados conforme Análise Textual Discursiva. Resultados: Emergiram duas categorias: Caderneta de saúde da criança e os aspectos facilitadores do processo de trabalho; Caderneta de saúde da criança e os aspectos que dificultam o processo de trabalho. Conclusão: Considera-se que o documento é atualizado e possibilita um cuidado sistematizado, no entanto, não é preenchido adequadamente por todos os profissionais, pois alguns desconhecem seu conteúdo e não entendem como parte fundamental no atendimento à criança.

The aim of this paper is to consider the extensibility of the Diophantine triple {2, b, c}, where 2 < b < c, and to prove that such a set cannot be extended to an irregular Diophantine quadruple. We succeed in that for some families of c’s (depending on b). As corollary, for example, we prove that for b/2 − 1 prime, all Diophantine quadruples {2, b, c, d} with 2 < b < c < d are regular.

Abstract Advanced age is a risk factor for severe infection by acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Children, however, often present with milder manifestations of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Associations have been found between COVID-19 and multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). Patients with the latter condition present more severe involvement. Adults with comorbidities such as chronic kidney disease (CKD) are more severely affected. This narrative review aimed to look into whether CKD contributed to more severe involvement in pediatric patients with COVID-19. The studies included in this review did not report severe cases or deaths, and indicated that pediatric patients with CKD and previously healthy children recovered quickly from infection. However, some patients with MIS-C required hospitalization in intensive care units and a few died, although it was not possible to correlate MIS-C and CKD. Conversely, adults with CKD reportedly had increased risk of severe infection by SARS-CoV-2 and higher death rates. The discrepancies seen between age groups may be due to immune system and renin-angiotensin system differences, with more pronounced expression of ACE2 in children. Immunosuppressant therapy has not been related with positive or negative effects in individuals with COVID-19, although current recommendations establish decreases in the dosage of some medications. To sum up with, CKD was not associated with more severe involvement in children diagnosed with COVID-19. Studies enrolling larger populations are still required.

Objetivo: Conhecer e analisar os aspectos que os estudos da literatura nacional e internacional revelam sobre o perfil da mortalidade materna. Metodologia: Revisão da literatura, a busca foi realizada em agosto de 2017, por meio da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, nas bases de dados da Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online e, Base de dados da Enfermagem, estabelecendo-se critérios de inclusão e exclusão, sendo selecionados nove estudos. Resultados: O perfil epidemiológico dos óbitos maternos é influenciado por fatores sociais, os quais refletem as desigualdades que assolam o mundo, a disparidade nas formas de acesso aos serviços de saúde, a educação e demais fatores que repercutem num grupo vulnerável para índices alarmantes. Conclusões: Os estudos refletem a necessidade de maiores esforços com engajamento da sociedade, órgãos públicos, profissionais de saúde, com vista a maior comprometimento e co-resposabilização na luta pela redução da mortalidade materna.

RESUMO Objetivo: Compreender o impacto de ações educativas lúdicas realizadas pelo enfermeiro no pós-operatório imediato, visando reconstruir estratégias de promoção e manutenção da saúde. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma Pesquisa-ação, realizada em um hospital municipal na região central, RS. Os participantes foram pacientes internados para realização de colecistectomia. Realizado em três momentos, primeiro utilizou um questionário semiestruturado, segundo, a socialização da estratégia lúdica desenvolvida pelo pesquisador, terceiro, buscou avaliar a efetividade da ação educativa lúdica. Submetidos a análise de conteúdo, na modalidade temática. Resultados: “Ludicidade aliada à comunicação terapêutica determinando o enfrentamento do processo perioperatório” e “Ludicidade na consulta de enfermagem como estratégia de educar para a saúde e estimular o autocuidado”. Conclusão: As ações educativas lúdicas a clientes internados para a realização de procedimento cirúrgico impactam como uma metodologia de cuidado inovadora, ativa, e dialógica, proporcionando momentos de desmistificação e compreensão do contexto que será vivenciado, de forma criativa e leve.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to verify nurses’ perceptions about comprehensive care to human beings from the ecosystem perspective, with Therapeutic Touch use. Methods: an exploratory-descriptive, qualitative study, conducted with 11 nurses who use/used Therapeutic Touch in daily work. Data were collected through online semi-structured interviews and submitted to discursive textual analysis. The ecosystem framework was used. Results: participants talked about the theme in a polysemic way, but understand that comprehensive care is associated with nursing professionals and intrinsic in their being and doing, considering the philosophical theoretical bases of nursing, which aim at the comprehensiveness of being. Final Considerations: Therapeutic Touch was considered as a way to achieve comprehensive care caring to human being ins. The objective of the study was achieved; however, it is understood the need for other research to advance this knowledge and enable innovations in professional practice of nurses.

Bila sam budna iz tri razloga. Prvi: živiš blizu podzemne, a ona se pripremala za svoje prvo dnevno putovanje. Drugi: ispred tvog prozora na drvetu je ptica i dere se na tvoju kuću. Ne znam kakva je to ptica, ni kakvo je to drvo. Treći: pčela, zarobljena pod čašom, od sinoć čeka da je oslobodiš. Namjera je očito postojala, da je preneseš niz stepenice ili pustiš kroz prozor, i zato je razglednica iz Beča ili Sankt Peterburga ili tako nekog mjesta završila pod čašom. Zapravo to uopće nije bila čaša, nego isprana teglica Nutelle i pčela je bila omamljena od cjelonoćnog buljenja u znamenitosti Beča ili Sankt Peterburga i gradskih duhova lješnjaka i šećera, zzzab-zzzab-zzzabijajući glavu o nevidljivi zid na tvom noćnom ormariću. Zarobljena ispod tvoje ruke, trepnula sam promatrajući je. Pčele vide UV svjetlost pa nas je sinoć vjerojatno doživjela kao neki nebulozni disko. Mahnito je mahala glavom, potvrđujući moju pomisao, tim svojim saćastim očima, zvjezdastim kaleidoskopima, dok se vani ptica derala malo glasnije.

Resumo Introdução O sono é um processo fisiológico cuja expressão nos seres humanos é influenciada por fatores sociais e ambientais. Objetivo Comparar as variáveis de sono e sonolência diurna de adolescentes de uma cidade do interior e de uma cidade metropolitana. Método Participaram do estudo 1.645 adolescentes provenientes de amostras representativas de duas cidades do Estado de Santa Catarina, uma do interior e outra metropolitana. Os adolescentes responderam a um questionário autoaplicável sobre questões sociodemográficas, horários de dormir e de acordar durante a semana e no final de semana, sonolência diurna e percepção de saúde. Resultados Observou-se que os adolescentes residentes na região metropolitana apresentaram horários de dormir (p < 0,001), horários de acordar (p < 0,001) e ponto médio de sono (p < 0,001) mais atrasados quando comparados aos adolescentes da cidade do interior. Já as médias de duração do sono identificadas não apresentaram diferenças (p = 0,645). Os adolescentes também tiveram índices de sonolência semelhantes (p = 0,082). Ainda, verificou-se associação da percepção de saúde negativa com altas pontuações da Pediatric Daytime Sleepiness Scale (PDSS), independentemente da cidade dos adolescentes. Conclusões O estudo fornece indícios de que variáveis contextuais e geográficas possuem alguma influência na fase de sono dos adolescentes. Assim, torna-se fundamental o melhor entendimento a respeito das medidas compensatórias realizadas pelos adolescentes.

Objetivo: Conhecer as práticas de cuidado desenvolvidas pelos profissionais de enfermagem durante o processo parturitivo na perspectiva de mulheres primíparas. Método: Estudo descritivo e exploratório com abordagem qualitativa, desenvolvido com dez mulheres primíparas, nos meses de fevereiro a abril de 2014. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e analisados pela proposta operativa de Minayo. Este estudo obteve aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, sob CAEE 26452313.8.0000.5346. Resultados: Foram estruturados em três categorias a partir do Guia Prático da Organização Mundial da Saúde com recomendações de práticas seguras no parto normal. Conclusão: Considera-se a necessidade de repensar e reformular práticas de cuidado institucionais que se encontram em desuso e investir em educação continuada e na prática de cuidados que contribuem para evolução fisiológica do parto.

ABSTRACT Salinity is an important abiotic factor since it is responsible for the local and/or regional distribution of algae. In coastal regions, salinity changes with prevailing winds, precipitation and tide, and particularly in extreme intertidal conditions. Acanthophora spicifera is a red seaweed that occurs in the supratidal region in which changes in abiotic conditions occur frequently. This study evaluated the effects of salinity on the metabolism and morphology of A. spicifera. Algae were acclimatized under culture conditions with sterilized seawater for seven days. Experiments used different salinities (15 to 50 psu) for seven days, followed by metabolic analyses. This study demonstrates that extreme salinities affect physiological parameters of A. spicifera, such as decrease in growth rate, as well as morphological parameters and concentrations of secondary metabolites. Acanthophora spicifera exhibited high tolerance to 25 to 40 psu, with little change in physiology, which favors the occurrence of this species in diverse environments. However, 15, 20, 45 and 50 psu were the most damaging and led to loss of biomass, depigmentation of apices, and the highest concentrations of antioxidant metabolites. The 50 psu treatment caused the greatest changes in general, greatly reducing a biomass and chlorophyll content, and facilitating the presence of endophytes.

Objetivo: Conhecer como os docentes e discentes de um curso de graduação em enfermagem percebem a abordagem do cuidado integral/integralidade no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Métodos: Pesquisa exploratório-descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa, realizada com sete docentes e seis discentes do Curso de Enfermagem de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior do Rio Grande do Sul. Os dados coletados, por meio da técnica de grupo focal, foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo na modalidade temática. Resultados: A análise dos dados possibilitou a construção da síntese coletiva de um grande tema: Formação do enfermeiro para o cuidado integral/integralidade, do qual se originaram dois subtemas: Permitindo a transformação: a formação do enfermeiro pela ótica dos discentes; Formando para a (des) organização: a formação do enfermeiro pela ótica dos docentes. Conclusão: Considera-se essencial ampliar o cuidado integral/integralidade no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, a partir dos primeiros semestres.

To understand the meaning of comprehensive care in the view of teachers and nursing students. Methods: qualitative research conducted with seven teachers and six students of the nursing course of a higher education institution. Data were collected using the Focal Group technique and subjected to thematic content analysis. The comprehensive care construct was used for this article as based on authors who talk with ownership of the theme. Results: the students perceive the comprehensive care as the subjective interaction with others respecting human uniqueness through a gradual construction in order to meet the apparent and non-apparent needs. Conclusion: teachers and students reported that comprehensive care depends on a network of actions and needs to be instigated since academic education.

Avaliou-se a eficiência da aplicação de subdose gonadotrofina coriônica equina (eCG) utulizando como via de administração o acuponto Hou Hai em protocolos de inseminação artificial em tempo fixo (IATF) para vacas de corte. Setenta vacas receberam no dia zero (D0) do protocolo dispositivos intravaginais com progesterona, e 3mg de benzoato de estradiol. No D9 foram retirados os dispositivos, aplicado 150µg de prostaglandina F2? e distribuídos os animais aleatoriamente em três tratamentos: T1 (n=23) - 300UI de eCG por via intra muscular (IM); T2 (n=23) - 90UI de eCG no acuponto Hou Hai e T3 (n=25) - 90UI de eCG em falso acuponto, IM. No D10 os animais receberam 1mg de GnRH por via IM e foi realizada a IATF, 52 horas após a retirada dos dispositivos. Para as variáveis quantitativas com distribuição normal foi utilizada ANOVA, a 5% de probabilidade. Para as variáveis que não apresentaram distribuição normal, utilizou-se o teste de Kruskal-Wallis, a 5% de probabilidade. Não houve diferença (P >0,05) para o intervalo entre a retirada do dispositivo à ovulação (58,2 ± 12,2h), diâmetro do maior folículo no D9 (9,9 ± 2,2mm), diâmetros do folículo ovulatório (12,2 ± 3,0mm) e do segundo maior folículo (6,7 ± 2,1mm), taxa de crescimento folicular (0,8 ± 0,3mm/d), taxa de ovulação (82%), área de corpo lúteo (2,32 ± 0,35 cm2) e taxa de prenhez (58,67%). O custo do protocolo por animal foi de US$ 10,67 (T1) e US$ 8,50 (T2 e T3). Sugere-se que a utilização de 90UI de eCG aplicada no acuponto Hou Hai ou em falso acuponto foram satisfatórios na sincronização de estro de vacas de corte. Além disso, possibilita a redução do custo do protocolo.

Objetivo: Buscar evidências na literatura sobre os efeitos da utilização de oxigenoterapia em neonatologia. Método: Revisão integrativa realizada em janeiro de 2017, com busca nas bases de dados: Pubmed, Lilacs, Scielo e Web of Science. Resultados: Identificaram-se dezesseis artigos e, após análise, emergiram duas categorias: Patologias relacionadas ao uso da oxigenoterapia em neonatologia e fatores de risco associados ao uso de oxigênio no período neonatal. Conclusão: O uso do oxigênio em neonatos apresenta-se como um paradoxo, caracterizado por um lado, pelo seu efeito lesivo, e por outro, pelo reconhecimento de seu papel indispensável na correção da hipóxia. Quanto mais longo o tempo em oxigenoterapia, em todas as suas formas, e maior a fração de oxigênio inspirado, maiores são as chances para o desenvolvimento de problemas nos recém-natos. Há necessidade de maior envolvimento dos profissionais no manejo do oxigênio, bem como de ampliar a produção de conhecimento nessa área de modo a subsidiar a prática baseada em evidências. Method: Integrative review conducted in January 2017, with search in databases: PubMed, Lilacs, Scielo and Web of Science. Results: Sixteen articles were identified and, after analysis, two categories emerged: Pathologies related to the use of oxygen therapy in neonatology and risk factors associated with the use of oxygen in the neonatal period. Conclusion: The use of oxygen in newborns presents a paradox, characterized by its harmful effect and by the recognition of its indispensable role in the correction of hypoxia. The longer the time in oxygen therapy, in all its forms, and the greater the fraction of inspired oxygen, the greater the chances for the development of problems in newborns. There is a need for greater involvement of professionals in oxygen management, as well as to increase the production of knowledge in this area in order to subsidize the practice based on evidence. Abstract Objective: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and factors associated with short sleep duration in adolescents from Maravilha – Santa Catarina (SC), southern Brazil. Methods: The sample consisted of 516 adolescents aged 10–19 years of both genders. Issues associated with short sleep duration and difficulty falling asleep, chronotype, daytime sleepiness, physical activity, sedentary behavior and weight status were investigated. Cognitive decline due to neurodegenerative diseases is a prevalent worldwide problem. Both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments to improve, delay or stop disease progression are of vital importance. Cognitive stimulation is frequently used in clinical practice; however, there are few studies that demonstrate its efficacy. Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of cognitive stimulation in patients with mild cognitive impairment (CDR = 0.5) and dementia (CDR = 1). Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed. Patients with cognitive impairment receiving weekly cognitive stimulation (16 or 24 sessions) were evaluated with a complete neuropsychological battery before and after the stimulation program. Each stimulation session was carried out by a trained neuropsychologist. Results: Forty two patients receiving cognitive stimulation were evaluated over a period of 12.53 months (SD 5.5). Patients were grouped as 11 amnesic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI), 23 multi domain mild cognitive impairment (mMCI) and 8 Mild Alzheimer's Dementia (CDR 1). None of the groups improved their cognitive functions after the cognitive stimulation program. MCI group was also divided according to their global intelligence quotient (IQ) into two groups: low (IQ < 98.5) and high (IQ > 98.5). Each group was compared before and after the stimulation program and no significant difference was found (p ≥ 0.05). Moreover, MCI group was also analyzed according to the duration of the stimulation program: less than 9, between 9 and 13 and more than 13 months. Different duration groups were compared before and after the cognitive stimulation program and no significant differences were found. Depression, anxiety and subjective memory symptoms were also analysed and neither improvement nor worsening could be demonstrated. Conclusions: Patients remained stable, both in cognitive and behavioural domains, for more than 18 months. However, no significant cognitive or behavioural improvement can be reported in these patients after the stimulation program (duration time: 12.53 months SD 5.5).

A grande expansão de estudos relacionados à divulgação e popularização da neurociência vem ganhando um cenário mais visível recentemente, principalmente na área da educação. Contribuindo para esse crescimento foi criado um programa de extensão, denominado POPNEURO, que objetiva popularizar a neurociência, levando informações desta área de forma lúdica e dinâmica a escolares da rede pública de ensino do município de Uruguaiana-RS e à população em geral. As principais ações do programa foram realizadas em quatro escolas, com alunos entre 10 e 13 anos de idade. As atividades incluíram: (i) atividades práticas realizadas em semanas temáticas; (ii) Neuroblitzes semanais compostas por uma pequena explanação teórica de temas relacionados à neurociência, seguida de atividades práticas para a fixação do conteúdo trabalhado; (iii) criação e manutenção de uma página em rede social sobre neurociência e educação; e, (iv) cursos de formação para professores. As ações, principalmente as práticas, tiveram grande aceitação por parte dos alunos e professores participantes, atingindo o objetivo de promover a popularização da neurociência em âmbito escolar. POPNEURO: a Report of an extension Program that seeks to disseminate and popularize neuroscience at school Abstract: The great expansion of studies related to the dissemination and popularization of neuroscience has become more visible recently, particularly in education settings. In order to contribute to the development of this initiative, an extension program called POPNEURO was created with the objective of popularizing neuroscience by providing information related to this area in a fun and dynamic way to students from public schools and to thegeneral public in the city of Uruguaiana-RS. The actions were carried out in four schools, with students ranging from 10 to 13 years- old. The activities included: (i) practical activities that took place during thematic weeks; (ii) weekly Neuroblitzes that offered small lecture on topics related to neuroscience, followed by hands-on activities to reinforce the contents presented; (iii) the creation and maintenance of a social network webpage on the topic of neuroscience and education; (iv) training courses for teachers. The actions related to the project, especially the practical ones, had great acceptance by students and teachers, which contributed to achieve the goal of promoting neuroscience in schools. Relato de un Programa de Extensión que busca divulgar y popularizar la neurociencia junto a las escuelas Resumen: En la actualidad los proyectos relacionados a la difusión y popularización de la neurociencia han tenido un crecimiento significativo, principalmente en el área de educación. Contribuyendo a este desarrollo se ha creado un programa de extensión llamado POPNEURO, cuyo objetivo es popularizar la neurociencia y fomentar el suministro de información en este ámbito de una forma lúdica y dinámica a los estudiantes de escuelas públicas de la ciudad de Uruguaiana-RS y a la población en general. Este programa se llevó a cabo en cuatro escuelas, con alumnos de 10 a 13 años de edad. Las actividades que se implementaron en el programa incluyeron: (i) actividades prácticas en semanas temáticas; (ii) neuroblitzes semanales compuestos por una pequeña explicación teórica de temas relacionados con la neurociencia, que se siguieron de actividades prácticas para el establecimiento de los contenidos de trabajo; (iii) creación y manutención de una página en redes sociales sobre la neurociencia y la educación; y (iv) los cursos de formación para docentes. Las acciones, especialmente las prácticas, tuvieron gran aceptación por parte de los alumnos y profesores participantes, alcanzando el objetivo de promover la popularización de la neurociencia en las escuelas participantes. Rad u salunu bio bi dobar način da poradi na svom engleskom; a i zaradio bi više nego što zarađuje za pultom Spur & Saddle Cluba, antikvarijata preko puta specijaliziranog za Divlji zapad, gdje je u šest mjeseci jedinu proviziju zaradio kad je natjerao neki par da kupi prepariranog rakuna kojeg su negdje u sedamdesetima opremili indijanskom perjanicom, postavili u kožni kanu i za osušeni mu struk privezali sićušno veslo.Well-Digger’s Wallet niski je dvokatni drveni objekt oko kojega se tijekom prošlog stoljeća formirao ostatak glavne ulice.
