Deep and thick weathered granite crusts widely distributed in Xiangdong area, Hunan Province, due to their special structure, often induce geological disasters such as landslides under the conditions of excavation or atmospheric precipitation. In this article, using the direct shear test, X-ray diffraction test and scanning electron microscope test, the mechanical properties and the response mechanism of the microstructure of the granite residual soil in eastern Hunan area under different states were studied, and the structural damage mechanism of the granite residual soil was analysed. Based on the comprehensive structural potential, the theory characterizes its structure. The results show that the granite residual soil is mainly composed of minerals such as quartz, mica, kaolinite and feldspar, and it also contains a small amount of chlorite and calcite. The damage is mainly reflected in the attenuation of cohesion, while the change of the internal friction angle is small. The microscopic manifestation is the failure of the bridging structure between the aggregates, and the inter-granular pores are interconnected. The difference and shear strength response reflect the susceptibility to disturbance of granite residual soil and reflect that the structural strength has been damaged under the disturbance of human factors.

Achieving accurate and high-sensitivity liquid level detection in medical instruments has always been a knotty task. In this paper, a high-precision, non-contact, flexible capacitive liquid level sensor is proposed, aiming to apply capacitive sensors in test tube liquid level measurement and improving the sensitivity of real-time liquid level sensors. The simulation study is conducted using ANSYS Maxwell and demonstrates the correlation between test tube thickness and sensitivity. A geometric model of the test container and sensing electrodes is established to optimize the design strategy for the physical dimensions of the sensor's interdigitated (IDT) electrodes based on a flexible printed circuit (FPC). The hardware and software designs are completed based on the FDC2214 capacitive-to-digital converter to collect the capacitance variation data of the sensing electrodes accurately. To assess the system's performance, an experimental platform for a liquid level sensor system has been constructed, facilitating the measurement, communication, processing, and visualization of liquid levels. The performance results demonstrate that the system is capable of accurately measuring the effective liquid level range within a standard 5 mL test tube with a resolution of up to 1 mm, as well as a sensitivity of 78.68 fF/mm, verifying the simulation results and exhibiting excellent linearity. Objectives: The study aimed to extend original research and identify operational and space-related requirements for specialization from the perspectives of nursing behavior and process. Background: Studies related to the specialty of different nursing units have been widely conducted in nursing science, while few studies have explored the specialized requirements for the physical environments of nursing units in different departments. Method: Questionnaire survey data were collected from 125 nurses in 11 clinical departments, and nurse shadowing (approximately 68 hr) was conducted in four clinical departments. Results: The questionnaire survey showed that satisfaction with care activity, visibility, and physical environment within the existing nursing unit environment was rated differently among different departments of nursing units. However, nurses in different groups of age, education, work experience, and position indicated no statistically significant difference. Behavioral observations demonstrated that the spatial and temporal distributions of activities, spatial linkages, and communication patterns varied in distinct departments. Conclusion: This research found that nurses in different departments had different evaluations of satisfaction and environmental characteristics. It also explains the differences in nursing work behaviors and processes found in various departments and sheds light on specialized requirements from the behavior perspective. An innovative phytic acid modified reed straw-derived hydrochar composite (PA-C-RBC) was prepared by using inexpensive reed straw and non-toxic phytic acid for the removal of uranium(VI) from aqueous environment. Several characterization results showed that PA-C-RBC was rough and porous with a large number of hydroxyl, carboxyl, and phosphate groups. The uranium(VI) adsorption process by PA-C-RBC conformed to pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir models, and the theoretical maximal adsorption capacity could attain 418.78 mg/g at pH 5.0. PA-C-RBC had 72.66 % of selectivity and 6772.99 mL/g of distribution coefficient for U(VI). Due to the strong chelating between the hydroxyl and phosphate groups on PA-C-RBC and U(VI), PA-C-RBC had excellent adsorption selectivity. Inspired by biological systems that are highly connected and can process massive amounts of data, neuromorphic transistors may overcome the traditional von Neumann bottleneck. In this work, an organic synaptic transistor was fabricated with a covalent organic polymer MT-TP to mimic the behavior of biological synapses. The device exhibits hole trapping/detrapping ability and outstanding stability. The common biological synaptic behaviors were successfully simulated by the MT-TP synaptic transistor. Eventually, an artificial neural network was constructed and the total accuracy for identifying numbers could reach 86.2%. The results demonstrate that the MT-TP based organic synaptic transistor is a good candidate for future computing systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
