Abstract We study the local interaction of the gravitational field with a superfluid condensate. To this end, we exploit the Ginzburg–Landau formalism with generalized Maxwell fields. The analysis shows that a slight local alteration of the gravitational field in a thin superconducting film can be achieved by laser pulses with particular characteristics.

The s-wave three-band Eliashberg theory can simultaneously reproduce the experimental critical temperatures and the gap values of the superconducting materials LaFeAsO0.9F0.1, Ba0.6K0.4Fe2As2 and SmFeAsO0.8F0.2 as exponent of the more important families of iron pnictides. In this model the dominant role is played by interband interactions and the order parameter undergoes a sign reversal between hole and electron bands (𝑠±-wave symmetry). The values of all the gaps (with the exact experimental critical temperature) can be obtained by using high values of the electron-boson coupling constants and small typical boson energies (in agreement with experiments).

We report on a study of the superconducting order parameter in thin films (with different Se contents: ) by means of point-contact Andreev-reflection spectroscopy (PCARS). The PCARS spectra show reproducible evidence of multiple structures, namely two clear conductance maxima associated to a superconducting gap of amplitude and additional shoulders at higher energy that, as we show, are the signature of the strong interaction of charge carriers with a bosonic mode whose characteristic energy coincides with the spin-resonance energy. The details of some PCARS spectra at low energy suggest the presence of a smaller and not easily discernible gap of amplitude . The existence of this gap and its amplitude are confirmed by PCARS measurements in single crystals. The values of the two gaps and , once plotted as a function of the local critical temperature , turn out to be in perfect agreement with the results obtained by various experimental techniques reported in literature. We report on the magnetic-field-induced variations of the microwave surface resistance, Rs, in a polycrystalline MgB2 sample, at different values of temperature. We have detected a magnetic hysteresis in Rs, which exhibits an unexpected plateau on decreasing the DC magnetic field below a certain value. In particular, at temperatures near Tc the hysteresis manifests itself only through the presence of the plateau. Although we do not quantitatively justify the anomalous shape of the magnetic hysteresis, we show that the results obtained in the reversible region of the Rs(H) curve can be quite well accounted for by supposing that, in this range of magnetic field, the p gap is almost suppressed by the applied field and, consequently, all the p-band charge carriers are quasiparticles. On this hypothesis, we have calculated Rs(H) supposing that fluxons assume a conventional (single core) structure and the flux dynamics can be described in the framework of conventional models. From the fitting of the experimental results, we determine the values of Hc2p(T) at temperatures near Tc. In our opinion, the most important result of our investigation is that, at least at temperatures near Tc, the value of the applied field that separates the reversible and irreversible regions of the Rs(H) curves is just Hc2p(T); a qualitative discussion of the possible reasons for this finding is given.
