A abordagem da educação ambiental e energética em todos os níveis de ensino é fundamental para a promoção da preservação do meio ambiente e para mudanças importantes no comportamento dos estudantes. Os jogos educativos podem ser utilizados como ferramenta para promover o desenvolvimento de habilidades cognitivas importantes no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Nesse contexto, duas atividades extensionistas para prova de conceito do jogo de tabuleiro sobre resíduos sólidos urbanos e geração de energia a partir do biogás foram realizadas visando à aplicação do jogo em escolas públicas. O objetivo das atividades é analisar a usabilidade do jogo e a percepção dos participantes quanto à importância desse tipo de estratégia para catalisar mudanças positivas e inovadoras na educação básica. De acordo com os resultados apresentados, os cinco parâmetros de usabilidade de Nielsen foram atendidos, e o jogo de tabuleiro desenvolvido pode ser utilizado como inspiração na apresentação de conteúdos de educação ambiental.

Abstract Objective: An in-depth evaluation of the published evidence is needed on self-medication, specifically the evidence focusing on vulnerable groups, such as pregnant women. This scoping review aims to provide an overview of the differences in self-medication prevalence and study characteristics among different groups, while identifying gaps in the literature. Methods: A literature search was performed in PubMed and Web of Science, including articles published in the last 10 years for the pregnant women group (PWG) and the general population group (GPG). Data on study design, self-medication prevalence, medications used, and other variables were collected, tabulated, and summarized. Results: From 2888 screened articles, 75 were considered including 108,559 individuals. The self-medication (SM) in the PWG ranged from 2.6 to 72.4% and most studies had an SM prevalence between 21 and 50% and in the GPG, 32 from 50 studies had a SM prevalence higher than 50%. The reviewed studies varied considerably in methodology, requiring careful interpretation. While most of the studies assessed self-medication during the entire pregnancy, self-medication definition was often inconsistent between studies. Acetaminophen was the most used medication and headache was the most frequent symptom leading to self-medication initiation in the PWG. Conclusions: Self-medication among pregnant women showed a lower prevalence when compared to the general population. The medications used and symptoms reported were similar between groups. However, methodological differences must be carefully considered. Pregnant women should carefully follow their physicians’ advice before initiating self-medication to avoid preventable maternal and fetal adverse effects.

Abstract Aiming to debate the the power of the counter-mobilization that emerged on Twitter during the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil, we carried out a documental study on Twitter collecting texts and images associated with the #BolsonaroGenocida hashtag, between March 13 and June 6 of 2021, a period in which intense public demonstrations took place against the Bolsonaro’s government in the country. We analysed 1243 tweets and 503 images, identifying the main contents anchored and objectified by the hashtags, revealing the various dimensions that compose the social representations associated with Bolsonaro and his management during the pandemic. The tweets’ contents comprehend the social and political demonstration arising from part of the Brazilian people against the actions taken by the president of Brazil during the Covid-19 pandemic, which led to thousands of deaths that could have been avoided; regarding the images, the results point out an emotional anchoring of Bolsonaro’s image to death. It is therefore important to demarcate the nature of Twitter as an specific platform for the mobilization of SR through the sharing of images and texts, which ends up evoking emotions that contribute to accentuating the social identity of the group that is expressed.

Carvacrol, a phenolic monoterpene found in essential oils of plants of the Lamiaceae family, emerges as an alternative acaricide of plant origin. Its acetylation was proposed to obtain a derivative compound with a better pharmacological profile and lower toxicity to non-target organisms. The present study aimed to assess the preclinical safety of acetylcarvacrol after dermal application in Wistar rats, through the examination of hematological and biochemical parameters, as well as histopathological analysis of the skin, liver and kidney. For this, twenty rats were distributed into four groups with five animals each. Three groups received treatment with different concentrations of the substance (26, 52, and 104 µL/mL) based on the lethal concentration for Rhipicephalus sanguineus ticks, and one group (Control) received only the vehicle. Acetylcarvacrol was applied daily to a trichotomized skin area for 21 days. No changes in hematological parameters were observed. Regarding biochemical analysis, a slight increase in urea and alanine transaminase levels was noted. No significant changes were observed in the kidney and liver, although the rats had developed cumulative irritant contact dermatitis at the application site, as corroborated by the histopathological analysis of the skin. In general, the results showed that the dermal application of acetylcarvacrol in the experimental conditions described here is safe. However, it can cause signs of mild systemic toxicity and skin irritation at high concentrations, suggesting that this product should be used in lower therapeutic doses and that the development of less aggressive formulations, including the combination with other acaricides, is desirable.

Sickle cell anemia is a hereditary disease caused by sickle-shaped red blood cells that can lead to vaso-occlusive crises. Treatment options are currently limited, highlighting the need to develop new clinical approaches. Studies demonstrated that elevated levels of fetal hemoglobin (Hb F) are associated with a reduction of mortality and morbidity in sickle cell anemia patients. In light of this, researchers have been trying to elucidate the transcriptional regulation of Hb F to develop new therapeutic interventions. The present study aimed to present the main transcription factors of Hb F and discuss the clinical feasibility of these molecular targets. Two search strategies were used in the PubMed, SciELO, and LILACS databases between July and August 2023 to conduct this review. Manual searches were also conducted by checking references of potentially eligible studies. Eligibility criteria consisted of clinical trials and cohort studies from the last five years that investigated transcription factors associated with Hb F. The transcription factors investigated in at least four eligible studies were included in this review. As a result, 56 eligible studies provided data on the BCL11A, LRF, NF-Y, GATA1, KLF1, HRI, ATF4, and MYB factors. The studies demonstrated that Hb F is cooperatively regulated by transcription factors with the BCL11A factor appearing to be the most specific target gene for γ-globin induction. Although these data are promising, there are still significant gaps and intervention limitations due to the adverse functions of the target genes. New studies that clarify the aspects and functionalities of Hb F regulators may enable new clinical approaches for sickle cell anemia patients.

Busca-se com este escrito refletir sobre o papel de uma orientação pautada no psicodrama para a coconstrução de uma pesquisa psicodramática. Trata-se de um relato de experiência de uma orientação de monografia da formação em Psicodrama de uma escola catarinense. A orientação ocorreu entre abril de 2023 e janeiro de 2024, sendo realizada de forma virtual, por encontros no Google Meet e trocas de mensagens. Concluiu-se que a teoria psicodramática, por ser pautada nas relações humanas, pode contribuir para a relação orientador-orientando no desenvolvimento de pesquisas, visando um processo de orientação com menos conflitos e desistências.

Introdução: Desde 11 de março de 2020, quando a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) declarou a pandemia de COVID-19, o mundo passou a vivenciar um desafio sanitário global. Em um cenário de escassez de recursos em saúde, os escores de alerta precoce, entre eles o modified early warning score (MEWS) e o triage early warning score (TREWS), surgem como ferramentas efetivas na detecção de indivíduos em estado de gravidade. Ambos, por meio da pontuação dos sinais vitais, reconhecem a deterioração clínica dos pacientes. O TREWS avalia, além dos sinais vitais, a necessidade de suplementação de oxigênio e a idade. Objetivo: Investigar a capacidade dos escores MEWS e TREWS em predizer gravidade e mortalidade em pacientes internados com COVID-19. Método: Nesse estudo observacional retrospectivo, pacientes internados com COVID-19 no Instituto de Infectologia Emílio Ribas (IIER) foram incluídos. Os escores MEWS e TREWS de admissão dos pacientes no IIER foram analisados, assim como as características demográficas, a presença de comorbidades e a caracterização do esquema vacinal para COVID-19 desses pacientes. Resultados: O estudo incluiu 579 pacientes, com predominância masculina (60,45%) e idade média de 52,54 anos. Comorbidades como Diabetes Mellitus (23,32%) e Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica (41,28%) foram frequentes. A maioria dos pacientes não apresentavam esquema vacinal completo para COVID-19 (65,28%). Fatores como idade maior que 70 anos (p < 0,001), presença de comorbidades, incluindo doença renal crônica (p = 0,039), diabetes mellitus (p = 0,028), hipertensão arterial sistêmica (p < 0,001), e a sobreposição de duas ou mais comorbidades (p = 0,024) aumentaram o risco de óbito. Os escores MEWS e TREWS de admissão foram mais elevados em pacientes que vieram a óbito (p < 0,001). Observou-se que a presença de MEWS de admissão ≥ 3 aumenta em 2,43 vezes as chances de óbito (p < 0,001; OR = 2,43) e em 1,80 vezes as chances de internação em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) (p = 0,002; OR = 1,80). Pacientes com TREWS de admissão ≥ 5 apresentaram 2,47 vezes mais chances de necessitarem de internação em UTI (p < 0,001; OR = 2,47) e 4,44 vezes mais chances de virem a óbito (p < 0,001; OR = 4,44). Conclusão: MEWS e TREWS de admissão demonstram grande utilidade na detecção precoce de pacientes críticos. Além disso, a presença de comorbidades influencia a incidência de desfechos graves nos pacientes internados com COVID-19.

The ear tissue of vulnerable felines, such as the puma, holds potential biological material for creating biobanks. However, skin composition can differ significantly between individuals of the of the same species and even between sexes, based on different environments. Therefore, identifying morphological similarities across these populations is crucial for developing accurate protocols. This study aimed to characterize and evaluate the structure and composition of ear skin in both a male and a female puma using histological techniques. Histomorphometric analysis revealed a total thickness of 304.65 µm and 238.95 µm for the male and the female, respectively. The epidermis was notably thinner in the female compared to the male. Specifically, the thickness of the basal, spinous, and corneum layers in the female was 2.62 µm, 10.07 µm, and 3.15 µm, respectively, compared to 3.49 µm, 13.94 µm, and 3.66 µm in the male, respectively. Melanocytes, keratinocytes, and fibroblasts totaled 26, 24, and 50 cells in the male and 21, 25, and 54 cells in the female. Moreover, chondrocytes (male: n=33 and female: n=41) and perichondrium (male=13.99 µm and female=9.05 µm) were observed in the cartilage. These results demonstrate the histomorphometric differences and similarities between a male and a female puma, consistent with observation in other felines. This information is relevant for a targeted approach for establishing biobanks for this species.

Background: A PBPK model allows the prediction of the concentration of drug amounts in different tissues and organs over time and can be used to simulate and optimize different therapeutic protocols in healthy and sick individuals. The objective of this work was to create a PBPK model to predict propofol doses for healthy canines and canines with hepatic impairment. Methods: The study methodology was divided into two major phases, in which the first phase consisted of creating the PBPK model for healthy canines, and in the second phase, this model was adjusted for canines with hepatic impairment. The model for healthy canines presented good predictive performance, evidenced by the value of the performance measure of the geometric mean fold error that ranged from 0.8 to 1.25, meeting the double error criterion. The simulated regimen for healthy canines, i.e., of 5 mg/kg (administered as a bolus) followed by a continuous infusion at a rate of 0.13 mg/kg/min, was sufficient and ensured that all simulated subjects achieved the target plasma concentration. Canines with 60% and 40% liver function had infusion rate adjustments to ensure that individuals did not exceed the therapeutic window for maintenance of anesthesia. Results: The results presented in this manuscript are suggestive of the effectiveness and practicality of a PBPK model for propofol in canines, with a particular focus on hepatic impairment.

ABSTRACT Fatigue is one of the most prevalent symptoms in individuals with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), but it is poorly evaluated. The Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy Fatigue Scale (FACIT-F) is one of the main instruments used to measure fatigue. However, this instrument has not yet been validated for the Brazilian population with COPD. This study aimed to investigate the validity of the FACIT-F fatigue scale in individuals with COPD. In a cross-sectional study, the impact of symptoms (COPD Assessment Test - CAT), dyspnea (modified Medical Research Council - MRC scale), functional capacity (six-minute step test - 6MST), exertional fatigue (Borg modified scale at the end of 6MST), and the FACIT-F scale to assess multidimensional fatigue were evaluated. Concurrent validity was assessed by associating the FACIT-F with the CAT, and convergent validity by associating it with the number of steps, perceived exertional fatigue, and dyspnea. Discriminant validity was assessed by comparing fatigue with the dyspnea severity strata. In total, 92 participants were studied (69.9±8.8 years, FEV1: 48.4% of predicted). The FACIT-F presented an average of 30.1±10.9 points, strong concurrent validity with the CAT (r=-0.80), strong convergent validity with dyspnea (r=−0.66), and low with exercise capacity (r=0.40) and fatigue on exertion (r=-0.44). FACIT-F was effective in discriminating groups with different intensities of dyspnea. Conclusion: The FACIT-F is a valid tool for assessing fatigue in the Brazilian population with COPD.

The present work explores the feasibility of producing blooms and beam blanks in a continuous casting machine using a single support rollers setup, aiming to eliminate the need for specialized setups for each geometry. The current practice requires frequent roll replacements during production switches, leading to reduced machine availability and safety risks.To assess the viability of the new approach, a 2D mathematical model for heat transfer and solidification was developed for both blooms and beam blanks. Simulations with the current and the new setup were performed, and their results analyzed. The model was validated with experiments during production campaigns at the steel melting shop. The model accurately predicts the casting process, with solid fraction deviation of 6% for blooms and 16% for beam blanks, and temperature difference between the model and thermal imaging measures values are between 20 °C and 70 °C.The heat transfer simulation results show that a single rollers setup can yield minimal variations in the temperature related operational parameters, supporting the feasibility of this approach. In addition to the thermal analysis performed in this work, mechanical stress and strain assessments need to be performed to further investigate the suggested solution and they will be the topic of future works.The findings provide valuable insights for the steel industry, as this type of feasibility study is a relatively unexplored area. Furthermore, the models developed can also be used to optimize process parameters, study defects formation during continuous casting and in the development of new products.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi aprofundar as marcas e aproximações de uma diretora no processo psicoterápico. Trata-se de um estudo de caso psicodramático utilizando o registro documental de sessões de psicoterapia bipessoal de três pacientes atendidas anteriormente pela primeira autora e os relatos da própria autora sobre suas percepções nos atendimentos. Foram apresentadas reflexões que demonstram resultados positivos sobre as aproximações na relação psicoterapêutica mediante o humor, a poesia e a música como formas de conexão entre psicodramatista e cliente.

A produção do biogás, a partir dos resíduos sólidos urbanos (RSU), é uma fonte renovável de geração de energia que possibilita a redução de emissões de metano (CH4) para a atmosfera, além de ganhos econômicos pelo fornecimento de energia. Este estudo apresenta o aproveitamento do biogás de aterro, como combustível na geração de energia elétrica, através da estimativa de produção de biogás, oriundo do RSU da região do litoral norte do Rio Grande do Sul. Para estimar a quantidade total de biogás produzida, o modelo matemático LandGEM foi aplicado. A previsão da potência e energia disponível, a partir do RSU de 10 (dez) municípios do litoral norte, em função da quantidade de metano gerada por ano, supera 3 MW de potência e 25 MWh/dia de energia, utilizando motor de combustão interna de ciclo Otto, com potencial médio ao longo dos anos de 15 MWh/dia e geração em torno de 5.000 MWh por ano, sendo suficiente para atender aproximadamente 15 mil habitantes da região com energia limpa e sustentável. aterro sanitário, biogás, energia limpa

Shiga-toxin producing Escherichia coli (STEC) infection is the most common cause of haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) in children. It should be noted that 5% of STEC-HUS patients have no prodromal diarrhoea, while it may be present in up to 30% of atypical HUS (aHUS) cases. In patients at risk for aHUS, STEC infection may act as a trigger rather than playing a causative role. Presently, eculizumab is the first-line therapy for children presenting with aHUS, whereas treatment of children with STEC-HUS is mainly supportive. We report the case of a child with STEC-HUS who had a severe presentation, requiring renal replacement therapy in the acute phase and surgical treatment for a colonic stricture that arose as a late extra-renal complication of the disease. We aim to review the diagnostic workup of children presenting with HUS, stressing the resources available in our setting. In Portugal, O157 E. coli isolation medium is widely available in clinical laboratories. Non-O157 STEC identification requires specific testing, which is increasingly relevant as non-O157 STEC is becoming a more common cause of STEC-HUS than serogroup O157. The National Health Institute Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA) has the capacity to identify verotoxin genes and to proceed to verotxin-producing E. coli (VTEC) pathogenicity assessment using multiplex polymerase chain reaction. Fresh stool samples must be obtained early in the disease course to be sent for culture in O157 E. coli isolation medium and for non-O157 E. coli identification assays.

Objetivo: Relatar a experiência do uso da região VG para a aplicação de vacinas via IM em crianças, adolescentes e adultos atendidos no Centro de Referência de Imunobiológicos Especiais (CRIE) do Serviço de Assistência Especializado (SAE) - Ampliado. Materiais e Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo na modalidade relato de experiência sobre a aplicação de vacinas IM na região VG, vivenciado pela equipe de enfermagem que atua no CRIE, localizado no SAE – Ampliado, iniciada em 2021. A técnica utilizada é a de Hochstetter, que consiste em traçar linhas imaginárias entre proeminências ósseas do quadril formando um triângulo, cujo baricentro delimitará o sítio de punção, com a técnica de delimitação pela mão ou a geométrica. Resultados: Após verificação de dados extraídos do sistema de informação do programa nacional de imunização (SIS-PNI), verificou-se aumento significativo de pacientes beneficiados com administração simultânea de imunobiológicos e maior possibilidade de manter esquemas vacinais completos em um período recomendado. Foi observada, também, menor frequência de queixas de dor na aplicação e reação adversa local. Entretanto, ainda é comum a população recusar a aplicação de vacinas nesse local por estranhar e desconhecer a técnica, acostumados com locais tradicionais como a região dorsoglútea, face anterolateral da coxa e deltoidea. Conclusão: Dessa forma, o uso da região VG para a aplicação de vacinas via IM demonstrou ser um local seguro para a aplicação simultânea e mesmo para o rodízio e manejo de pacientes com comprometimento em outros músculos em regiões usadas tradicionalmente. Nesse sentindo, faz-se necessária a capacitação do maior número de profissionais da enfermagem para utilizarem essa técnica, cujo intuito é difundi-la melhor para a vacinação na região VG.

Objetivo: Relatar o processo de descentralização dos testes rápidos (TR) para as unidades da Atenção Primária à Saúde, no município de Montes Claros, MG. Materiais e Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo na modalidade relato de experiência, vivenciado pela equipe do Serviço de Assistência Especializada (SAE)–Ampliado. O processo de descentralização dos testes de IST em Montes Claros iniciou-se em 2014, precedido por várias reuniões da equipe do SAE, Vigilância Epidemiológica e Coordenação da Atenção Primária à Saúde para planejamento das ações, de acordo com as recomendações do Ministério da Saúde (MS). Inicialmente foi elaborado um plano de curso/capacitação dividido em duas etapas: 1) Teorização sobre as IST e aconselhamento; oferecida a um grupo maior de profissionais; 2) Prática sobre a técnica de coleta dos testes rápidos, realizada no CTA, em pequenos grupos. Posteriormente, a parte teórica foi substituída pelos cursos da Plataforma Telelab, por orientação do Ministério da Saúde. Durante a prática, além da avaliação da aptidão para a execução dos testes rápidos, aspectos sobre a garantia do sigilo, confidencialidade e aconselhamento eram discutidos. As capacitações seguiram um cronograma e iniciaram pelas equipes que já possuíam estrutura mínima (geladeira). Resultados: De 2014 a 2022, foram capacitados e certificados pela equipe do SAE, 100% dos enfermeiros e técnicos de enfermagem das equipes de Estratégia Saúde da Família do município. Alguns médicos também participaram da capacitação, porém em proporção bem menor. Após o período de capacitação, os testes foram dispensados através de solicitação via link, criado na plataforma google forms, distribuídos para as unidades e monitorados pela equipe do SAE através de visitas técnicas aleatórias. Atualmente, 98% das unidades de ESF realizam os TR e o aconselhamento para as IST. Conclusão: Entende-se a descentralização dos testes rápidos como uma estratégia fundamental para o controle das IST, no entanto, precisa de acompanhamento e monitoramento contínuos para manter a motivação da equipe e qualidade do serviço. Durante o processo, foram identificados fatores facilitadores da descentralização, como: sensibilidade dos profissionais em relação aos dados epidemiológicos; perspectiva de trabalho segundo princípios do SUS e da saúde da família. Entre os aspectos que dificultaram o processo estão: equipes incompletas e rotatividade de profissionais; desconfiança em relação ao teste rápido; percepção de sobrecarga de trabalho; inseguranças relacionadas ao aconselhamento e comunicação diagnóstica.

Nesta investigação, buscou-se compreender a concepção de mundo das mulheres gamers, no sentido das relações e dos papéis sociais. Trata-se de uma pesquisa sociodramática, que transita entre pesquisaintervenção e pesquisa-ação crítica, realizada com um grupo composto de quatro mulheres que se autodeclaram gamers e que foram acessadas de forma sociométrica (método snowball). A análise dos dados ocorreu com base nos preceitos epistemológicos e teóricos da socionomia e da pedagogia psicodramática. Como resultados, destacam-se as conservas culturais trazidas pelas mulheres em relação ao ser mulher nos games e como adversidades de que maneira a sexualização dos corpos, o assédio, a diminuição do feminino e outras violências são repetidos nos jogos eletrônicos.

Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) triggered by influenza virus (iHUS) is rare. Influenza A infections have been described to trigger atypical HUS (aHUS) in individuals with an underlying genetic complement dysregulation. To date there are only few reports of Influenza B as a trigger of aHUS, all identified cases associated with mutations in the MCP or C3 gene, occasionally combined with other mutations. aHUS patients should be screened for all known disease-associated genes and screening should not be stopped after finding a mutation, to identify other genetic susceptibility factors influencing gene phenotype, particularly in patients with MCP or CFI mutations. Complement blockade using a monoclonal anti-C5 antibody, eculizumab, has greatly improved the outcome in recent years for certain groups of HUS. The decision on whether to treat or not with eculizumab should be made based on clinical and laboratorial evolution as well as molecular studies results. Influenza A and B are preventable through vaccination and strategies should be addressed for patients with complement gene mutations identified.

Objetivo: descrever os efeitos da pandemia do novo coronavírus realizadas pelo serviço de atendimento móvel de urgência (SAMU) em Senador Canedo-Goiás no período de 2019-2020. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo ecológico descritivo, tomando como fonte de informação os boletins de atendimentos do SAMU do respectivo município, referentes ao período de janeiro de 2019 a dezembro de 2020. Foram calculadas as frequências absolutas e relativas das variáveis selecionadas e calculado o teste qui-quadrado com nível de significância de valor 5% (p< 0,05). Resultados: No ano de 2019, foram registradas 1.078 ocorrências, enquanto no ano de 2020 1.705 atendimentos, evidenciado uma ascensão no número de chamados entre os anos. A maioria dos atendimentos eram do sexo masculino (2019-2020 - 59,4%) na faixa etária entre 19 a 45 anos (2019-2020 - 36,3%). O principal local de ocorrência, foi em domicílio (2019-2020 - 45,9%), no turno vespertino (2019-2020 - 34,1%) e as maiores ocorrências foram realizadas aos finais de semana (2019-2020 - 32,1%). O principal tipo de ocorrência se deu por socorro em ambos os anos (2019 - 90,5%; 2020 - 79,6%), embora a remoção/transporte apresentou uma demanda significativa no ano de 2020 (2019 - 9,5%; 2020 - 20,4% - p= ˂0,0001). O principal motivo de atendimento foram por causas clínicas (2019 - 19,5%; 2020 - 28,5% - p= 0,914), seguido pelas causas externas (2019 - 15,3%; 2020 - 26,6% - p= ˂0,0001). Conclusão: observou-se que a pandemia influenciou significativamente no aumento das ocorrências no ano de 2020, elevando o número de remoção/transporte, causando impacto no serviço de saúde e espera-se que os dados inéditos da casuística obtida possam servir de substrato para o planejamento e execução de medidas voltadas para a melhoria da assistência à saúde.

A produção corporativa das cidades brasileiras se dá sob condições de mercantilização do espaço urbano, associada à segregação socioespacial, especulação imobiliária e captura da dimensão coletiva e pública das cidades. Tal situação tem levado os moradores a acionarem estratégias para a defesa do direito à cidade, incluindo o sistema de justiça. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar a aplicabilidade e a eficácia de instrumentos jurídicos e urbanísticos na minimização dos impactos socioespaciais, tendo como estudo de caso o empreendimento Horto Bela Vista (HBV), no bairro do Cabula, na cidade de Salvador (BA). O estudo utiliza pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, particularmente sobre o processo constante no Ministério Público do Estado da Bahia. Como resultado, constatou-se que, apesar da importância das reparações e compensações conquistadas, os instrumentos acionados apresentam limites para sua efetividade, tensionados tanto na perspectiva do urbanismo corporativo quanto do direito à cidade.

Nocardiosis is an infection caused by ubiquitous opportunistic bacteria and is rare in felines. In retrospective studies of the infection in the species, pyothorax was found in only about 5% of the cases described, with the most frequent forms being cutaneous and subcutaneous. This report describes Nocardia spp. as an etiologic agent of pyothorax in a feline leukemia virus (FeLV)-positive female cat. A 10-year-old female mixed-breed cat, positive for FeLV, with chronic kidney disease IRIS stage 2, was examined with a severe dyspneic onset, suspected of pleural effusion. It also had skin lesions in the interscapular region. The patient underwent thoracentesis, and a dense, creamy, fetid, and flocculated liquid was collected. Radiography was performed after draining the pleural fluid, which showed images suggestive of atelectasis of the left lung lobes and pneumonia. The collected material was sent for analysis, which found that it was a septic exudate. In addition, it was referred for bacterial culture in a special medium due to suspicion of nocardiosis. Long-term treatment with amoxicillin + clavulanic acid resolved the clinical case.

O tétano é uma doença grave e rara em pequenos animais, de caráter agudo e mediada pela ação da neurotoxina tetanospasmina, proveniente do bacilo Clostridium tetani. Neste relato descreve-se um caso de tétano em um canino, com ênfase em seus aspectos clínicos e terapêuticos, além da sua recuperação clínica. Foi atendido no Hospital Veterinário da Universidade de Passo Fundo, um canino, fêmea, da raça Pitbull, com cinco meses, em status epilepticus. Após a estabilização da paciente, constataram-se animal em posição de cavalete, com paralisia espástica generalizada, risus sardonicus, trismo, cauda e orelhas eretas e dificuldade em expandir o tórax. O diagnóstico presuntivo de tétano foi firmado a partir da anamnese, sinais clínicos e achados laboratoriais. O tratamento suporte estabelecido incluiu reposição hidroeletrolítica, soro antitetânico, antibioticoterapia, analgesia, fármacos miorrelaxantes e anticonvulsivantes. O manejo intensivo da paciente foi realizado com sondagem uretral e nasoesofágica, trocas de decúbito a cada duas horas e diminuição de estímulos ambientais. A fisioterapia e a acupuntura também foram utilizadas para complementar o tratamento e acelerar a recuperação. A paciente recebeu alta médica um mês após o início do tratamento, apresentando evolução satisfatória. No presente caso, o exame clínico em associação aos sinais clínicos característicos da doença, acrescidos da anamnese minuciosa foram fundamentais ao diagnóstico presuntivo de tétano. Além disso, o manejo intensivo, o tratamento medicamentoso, assim como a realização de fisioterapia e acupuntura, possibilitaram a evolução do quadro clínico à cura. Neste artigo descrevemos e analisamos a entrada da pixação no mundo da arte. Ao reconstituir situações que contribuíram com este trânsito, mostramos que o estigma e criminalização desta prática na esfera pública não impediram a sua gradual entrada em certos circuitos artísticos. Embora o processo de artificação da pixação envolva diferentes eventos e sujeitos, defendemos que ele resulta em grande medida de estratégias desencadeadas pelos próprios pixadores. Tal como ocupam as superfícies da cidade, eles e elas ocuparam o mundo da arte para fundar um lugar próprio. As reflexões apresentadas se baseiam em pesquisa sobre arte urbana realizada entre os anos de 2017 e 2021, que recorreu à análise de documentos e entrevistas em profundidade com um conjunto de atores sociais envolvidos neste contexto.

Abstract A mismatch between circadian and social clocks leads to a circadian misalignment, which has been widely measured by social jetlag (SJL). There are several studies measuring SJL, but it has not been studied in pregnant women. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the occurrence of SJL throughout pregnancy and to verify whether there is an effect of pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) on SJL throughout pregnancy. The baseline of the present study was conducted with 205 1st trimester pregnant women of whom 100 were followed in their 2nd and 3rd trimester. SJL was calculated based on the absolute difference between mid-sleep time on workdays versus work-free days. The pre-pregnancy BMI and current BMI (kg/m2) were calculated. Linear regression and Generalised Estimating Equation (GEE) adjusted for confounders were used to determine the association between SJL and the gestational trimesters (time), and anthropometric variables. Most of the pregnant women (54.5%) presented SJL > 1 h in the first gestational trimester. We also found an isolated effect of the gestation trimester on the SJL mean. In this sense, pregnant women had a decrease in SJL from the second to the third trimester (1.33 ± 0.08 versus 1.12 ± 0.07, respectively; p = 0.012). GEE analyzes showed that pregnant women of a normal weight showed a decrease in SJL from the second to the third trimester (1.29 ± 0.11 and 0.93 ± 0.08, respectively, p = 0.032), but this was not found in the other groups of nutritional status (underweight, overweight and obesity). In addition, a positive association between SJL and pre-gestational BMI in the third trimester (β = 0.200, p = 0.046) was found. SJL is quite prevalent during the gestational period and excessive BMI both before and during pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of having SJL > 1 h in the third and second trimesters, respectively. In addition, pregnant women of normal weight—but not underweight or overweight—had decreased SJL from the second to the third trimester.

Em março de 2020 foi registrado o primeiro caso de Covid-19 no estado do Rio de Janeiro. A heterogeneidade de suas regiões é um notável aspecto de sua demografia, tornando o enfrentamento à pandemia desafiador. Devido ao alto impacto da pandemia na sociedade, é crucial que se entenda a percepção da população sobre as medidas sanitárias propostas e que falhas no processo informativo sejam identificadas. Uma população bem instruída a respeito de uma doença torna-se menos vulnerável. Este estudo investiga o grau de esclarecimento relacionado à Covid-19 na população do Rio de Janeiro. Para a coleta de dados, utilizou-se um questionário on-line, aplicado a 857 residentes do estado. Pelos resultados, nota-se que a maioria dos participantes classifica a situação da pandemia no estado como grave e sinaliza a necessidade de ampliação de ações de controle e fiscalização. A população entende que pesquisas científicas são importantes para orientar ações sanitárias. Investir em comunicação direta e com linguagem acessível aumenta a conscientização, cria comportamentos favoráveis e permite que o enfrentamento à pandemia ocorra de maneira efetiva. Infere-se, assim, que é crucial prosseguir com o planejamento de disseminação de informações.

Abstract Background Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a prevalent disease among elderly population. As the disease progresses, insulin may become necessary. The use of pens application seems to be more practical. However, the influence of this method on glycemic control needs to be defined in elderly people. Methods Randomized clinical trial comparing pens and syringes for insulin application among patients with type 2 DM over 60 years old and Glycated Hemoglobin > 8.5% at baseline. The follow-up was 24 weeks, with monthly medical visits to adjust the treatment. All patients received insulin NPH and, if necessary, insulin Regular. We assessed glycemic control, adherence to treatment, hypoglycemia occurrence, need for adjustment in treatment and impact on quality of life, Results We included 121 patients with mean age of 65.75 years. Sixty-one were randomized for pen group (PG) and 60 patients for syringe group (SG). At baseline, mean HbA1c was 10.34 ± 1.66% and 9.90 ± 1.25% (p = 0.103) in PG and SG respectively. Mean HbA1c was 8.39 ± 1.28% in PG and 8.85 ± 1.74% in SG (p = 0.101) at 24 weeks. However, there was a more significant reduction in PG (− 1.94 ± 1.93% in PG and − 1.04 ± 1.46% in SG, p

Abstract Objective This randomized clinical trial aimed to compare the short-term postsurgical symptoms after insertion of one or two implants for retention of a mandibular overdenture. This study investigated whether the less invasive single-implant approach results in lower postoperative symptoms compared to the conventional two-implant overdenture. Materials and methods Patients received new complete dentures and were randomly assigned to groups receiving one or two single-stage, early-loaded hydrophilic implants, inserted in the midline (n = 23), or the lateral incisor-canine area bilaterally (n = 24). Patient-reported postoperative symptoms were measured in a 0–100 visual analogue scale concerning pain in the surgical area, pain when chewing, bleeding, swelling, and unpleasantness. Data collection occurred 24 h and 7 and 21 days after surgery. Demographic and clinical features (smoking habit, classification of the residual ridges, and mucosal width and thickness at the implant sites), osteotomy for alveolar bone reduction, and surgery time were tested as predictors of symptom levels. Results Overall reported symptoms were mild and self-limited, with high rates of complete remission after the early loading period of 3 weeks. Progressive improvement of symptoms occurred from the 24-h to the 7-day and 21-day follow-ups (p < 0.001), similarly in both groups. None of the clinical predictors was significantly associated with the changes in symptoms. Conclusions Findings suggest that the insertion of one or two implants may result in similar postoperative outcomes. Clinical relevance The severity of short-term postoperative symptoms may not be a critical factor for the decision between overdenture treatment with one or two implants.

Abstract To determine the association between cephalometric measurements and polysomnographic parameters in Brazilian patients with midface deficiency. This was a primary, clinical, observational, longitudinal, retrospective, analytical, and single-center study. Forty-eight patients with midface deficiency were divided into two groups as follows: those who underwent surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion (SARME) and those who received maxillary advancement (MA). Pre- and post-operative cephalometric and polysomnography measurements were obtained. Pearson's correlation was used to verify the presence of any significant associations between PSG scores and cephalometric measurements. Associations between BMI (Body Mass Index) and AHI (Apnea Hypopnea Index) as well as arousals were observed. In the SARME group, associations between AHI and SNA, UAS and MP-H, arousals and SNA, and Co-A and MP-H were noted. Associations between AHI and Co-A, PoOr-A and MP-H, arousals and UAS, and between minimum saturation of O2 and SNA, SNB, and Co-A were observed in the MA group. This study demonstrates the alterations in the middle third of the face that were related to sleep disturbance. In addition, it shows the associations between the polysomnographic parameters and the cephalometric representations corresponding to the analyzed deformities and transverse or anteroposterior maxillary deficiencies.

Introdução: Lesões genitais sugerem disseminação por via hematogênica em paciente com leishmaniose difusa ou inoculação direta do parasito quando há lesão isolada. Ainda que essa apresentação seja incomum, é necessário investigar hábito de dormir nu ou fazer necessidades fisiológicas ao ar livre em áreas endêmicas. Objetivo: O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar um caso de LTA, ocorrido no norte brasileiro (região endêmica da doença), no segundo semestre de 2021, com lesão cutânea em região genital, possibilitando a discussão de aspectos clínicos e epidemiológicos, ressaltando alguns dos diagnósticos diferenciais, bem como particularidades do tratamento medicamentoso da doença. Método: Relato de caso. Paciente do sexo masculino, 52 anos, de procedência mista (intercala períodos em zona rural e outros em zona urbana), comparece à Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS), no segundo semestre do ano de 2021, com queixa de lesão única e indolor em região peniana há 40 dias, evoluindo com aumento de tamanho neste período. Resultados: Discussão: Na maioria dos casos, as lesões cutâneas da LTA se apresentam em regiões expostas do corpo, caracterizadas por serem únicas ou em pequeno número. Geralmente é indolor, possui formato arredondado, chega a medir centímetros, tem base eritematosa, infiltrada e consistência firme, com bordas delimitadas e elevadas, fundo avermelhado e granulações grosseiras (SAÚDE, 2017), o que lembra o aspecto clínico da lesão sifilítica. No caso presente, o principal diagnóstico diferencial foi o de sífilis, no entanto, este diagnóstico foi excluído quando houve a associação dos aspectos epidemiológicos e clínicos com o exame de raspado de lesão evidenciando a presença de amastigotas. Conclusão: O caso relatado revela aspectos do processo diagnóstico que devem ser ressaltados. Dentre esses aspectos têm-se a importância de considerar diagnósticos diferenciais baseados na epidemiologia local, ou seja, ponderar sobre as possíveis etiologias da doença que em outras regiões geográficas seriam improváveis, mas, que se tornam opções plausíveis nas regiões endêmicas. Outro aspecto é o valoroso papel da anamnese bem conduzida e detalhada que permite direcionar todo o processo diagnóstico. No caso em questão, foram especuladas etiologias relacionadas às infecções sexualmente transmissíveis, devido à localização da lesão ser em região genital, porém, ao se averiguar os aspectos da lesão, os dados da anamnese relacionados aos hábitos da vida sexual e os aspectos epidemiológicos. Hearing loss (HL) is a common sensory deficit in humans and represents an important clinical and social burden. We studied whole-genome sequencing data of a cohort of 2,097 individuals from the Brazilian Rare Genomes Project who were unaffected by hearing loss to investigate pathogenic and likely pathogenic variants associated with nonsyndromic hearing loss (NSHL). We found relevant frequencies of individuals harboring these alterations: 222 heterozygotes (10.59%) for sequence variants, 54 heterozygotes (2.58%) for copy-number variants (CNV), and four homozygotes (0.19%) for sequence variants. The top five most frequent genes and their corresponding combined allelic frequencies (AF) were GJB2 (AF = 1.57%), STRC (AF = 1%), OTOA (AF = 0.69%), TMPRSS3 (AF = 0.41%), and OTOF (AF = 0.29%). The most frequent sequence variant was GJB2:c.35del (AF = 0.72%), followed by OTOA:p. (Glu787Ter) (AF = 0.61%), while the most recurrent CNV was a microdeletion of 57.9 kb involving the STRC gene (AF = 0.91%). An important fraction of these individuals (n = 104; 4.96%) presented variants associated with autosomal dominant forms of NSHL, which may imply the development of some hearing impairment in the future. Using data from the heterozygous individuals for recessive forms and the Hardy–Weinberg equation, we estimated the population frequency of affected individuals with autosomal recessive NSHL to be 1:2,222. Considering that the overall prevalence of HL in adults ranges from 4–15% worldwide, our data indicate that an important fraction of this condition may be associated with a monogenic origin and dominant inheritance.

The school is essentially recognized as a place where learning takes place, but it expands and can also present violent relational behaviors between: student–school, teacher–student and teacher–teaching. Given this theme, the objective of this article was to understand the contributions of thematic sociodrama in the management of violent behavior. The socioeconomic act presented is characterized as an action research carried out with 19 teachers in a public school. The application of the thematic sociodrama made it possible to reveal, discuss and understand the dynamics of violence that happened in the school context.

Este artigo de revisão traz pela primeira vez para a literatura brasileira discussões mais aprofundadas sobre as características físico-químicas dos produtos da pirólise de pneus inservíveis e suas aplicações. As propriedades físico-químicas e distribuições dos produtos, resultantes da pirólise (sólido - char, gasoso – syngas e líquido - óleo pirolítico), foram discutidas, com relação às variações das condições de pirólise. Na revisão é mostrado que as interações das variáveis do processo de pirólise também influenciam na ocorrência de reações secundárias, as quais interferem na distribuição dos produtos. Os produtos gasosos e líquidos, obtidos da pirólise de pneus inservíveis, foram apresentados como uma valiosa fonte de combustível para a geração de calor e energia elétrica. O sólido pirolítico, além da utilização como combustível sólido, tem potencial para a recuperação de negro de fumo e utilização como adsorvente, após processo de ativação. Atualmente, o produto líquido de pirólise tem recebido maior atenção dos pesquisadores, dada a sua flexibilidade em termos de armazenamento e transporte, seu alto conteúdo energético, sua possibilidade de recuperação dos hidrocarbonetos e propriedades como combustível alternativo em motores de combustão interna.

This article presents an account of an online sociodrama experience. The described session took place in the context of a study group containing 36 participants, including psychology students and psychologists. The meeting took place through an online application that allows video conferencing (Zoom). The proposed theme was: “Covid19, what do you want to tell me?” The action research has a socio-therapeutic focus, with the direction of the session centered on collective creation. The instruments included the director, the scenario, the protagonist, the supporting role, and the public. A final observation was that the online sociodrama created spaces for reorganizing social roles, even in social isolation and crisis.

This article aims to reflect on the acting possibilities in relationship psychotherapy, bipersonal psychodrama, and internal psychodrama, through online activities. Experience reports were used to illustrate the possibilities in relation to stages, instruments and techniques. Throughout the discussion, it is clarified that the spontaneous action of the psychodramatist towards the client is essential. Therefore, in online care, it is possible to maintain the heating, to apply the techniques and to manage the scenes, considering the need to recognize the patient’s and the director’s scenario, as well as the possibility of using the supplementary reality to reach the scenes, missing objects, and characters.

Introdução: Informações farmacogenômicas podem orientar o prescritor nas tomadas de decisão clínica. No entanto, não há regulamentação específica acerca de tais informações nas bulas dos medicamentos no Brasil. Objetivos: Verificar a presença e o conteúdo das informações farmacogenômicas nas bulas dos medicamentos empregados na oncologia registrados no país. Material e Métodos: Estudo descritivo, transversal, no qual os medicamentos comercializados no Brasil a terem suas bulas analisadas tiveram sua seleção feita conforme a Tabela de Marcadores Farmacogenômicos elaborada pelo FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Tais informações foram comparadas àquelas disponíveis nas bulas nacionais dos medicamentos de referência. Resultados: Dos 94 fármacos antineoplásicos citados na tabela americana, 70 apresentaram registro no Brasil e bula disponível para consulta. Destes, 90% apresentaram alguma informação farmacogenômica. Foram citados trinta e um biomarcadores diferentes, sendo mais frequentes os marcadores somáticos tumorais. Em 80% das bulas foram citados os mesmos biomarcadores descritos na tabela americana. Contudo, para metade desses biomarcadores, houve divergência em relação ao conteúdo de tais informações quando comparado àquele recomendado pelo FDA. Ademais, não foi observada uniformidade quanto às seções da bula onde tais informações foram apresentadas. Os termos farmacogenética e/ou farmacogenômica não apareceram nas bulas nacionais. Conclusão: A maior parte das bulas dos medicamentos antineoplásicos analisadas apresentaram alguma informação farmacogenômica. Porém, houve significativa divergência em relação ao conteúdo de tais informações quando comparado àquele recomendado pelo FDA. Há necessidade de regulamentação nacional específica acerca do tema.

The present study aims to identify the salivary metabolic profile of healthy infants and young children, and to correlate this with age, salivary gland maturation, and dentition. Forty-eight children were selected after clinical evaluation in which all intraoral structures were examined. Total unstimulated saliva was collected, and salivary metabolites were analyzed by 1H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) at 25 °C. Partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), orthogonal PLS-DA (O-PLS-DA), and univariate analysis were used, adopting a 95% confidence interval. The study showed a distinct salivary metabolomic profile related to age and developmental phase. The saliva of children in the pre-eruption teeth period showed a different metabolite profile than that of children after the eruption. However, more evident changes were observed in the saliva profile of children older than 30 months. Alanine, choline, ethanol, lactate, and sugar region were found in higher levels in the saliva of patients before 30 months old. Acetate, N-acetyl sugar, butyrate, caproate, creatinine, leucine, phenylalanine, propionate, valine, succinate, and valerate were found to be more abundant in the saliva of children after 30 months old. The saliva profile is a result of changes in age and dental eruption, and these findings can be useful for monitoring the physiological changes that occur in infancy.

Objectives: The pregnancy period, with its peculiarities and specific symptoms that may or may not be physiological, can lead to medication use through prescription or even self-medication. This study aimed to assess self-medication practices among pregnant women, the most used medications, symptoms reported, and factors associated with this practice.Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted with pregnant women with an antenatal care (ANC) appointment in a tertiary teaching hospital referral in women’s health. From April 2019 to February 2020, 297 pregnant women were interviewed. Self-medication was considered as the use of any medicine (including medicinal plants (MPs), herbal products, and vitamins) without a medical or dental prescription. The period considered to assess self-medication practice was the last 60 days prior to the study interview.Results: Among the 297 women interviewed, 107 (36.0%) had practiced self-medication in the previous 60 days. Acetaminophen was the most used medication, and headache was the most frequent symptom reported by self-medicated pregnant women. Pregnant women with high-school (73 (68.2%) (OR = 2.52; 95% CI 1.17–5.43; p = 0.018)) or university-level (23 (21.5%) (OR = 2.82; 95% CI 1.15–6.94; p = 0.024)) education had a higher risk of practicing self-medication when compared to women with lower education. Women in the first gestational trimester (35 (32.7%) (OR = 3.61; 95% CI 1.64–7.96; p = 0.002)) and with two or more pregnancies (87 (81.2%) (OR = 1.96; 95% CI 1.07–3.60; p = 0.029)) were more likely to practice self-medication than pregnant women in the second or third gestational trimester and in the first pregnancy, respectively.Conclusion: Self-medication was practiced by a considerable proportion of our sample, with the majority being OTC drugs. The factors associated with self-medication can help to improve prevention strategies regarding self-medication during pregnancy.

Objective: Respiratory syncytial virus is a pathogen frequently involved in nosocomial outbreaks. Although several studies have reported nosocomial outbreaks in neonatal intensive care units, molecular epidemiology data are scarce. Here, the authors describe two consecutive respiratory syncytial virus outbreaks caused by genotypes ON-1 and NA-2 in a neonatal intensive care unit in São Paulo, Brazil. Methods: A prospective search for respiratory syncytial virus was performed after diagnosing the index case and four other symptomatic newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit. Nasopharyngeal aspirate samples of all patients in the neonatal intensive care unit were tested for 17 respiratory viruses using real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. Genotyping was performed using nucleotide sequencing. Results: From May to August 2013, two different outbreaks were detected in the neonatal intensive care unit. A total of 20 infants were infected with respiratory syncytial virus-A (ten and 14 with ON-1 and NA-2 genotypes, respectively). The mean age of the infants was 10 days, mean birth weight was 1,961 g, and the mean gestational age was 33 weeks. Risk factors (heart disease, lung disease, and prematurity) were present in 80% and 85.7% of infants in the ON-1 and NA-2 groups, respectively. In total, 45.8% of infants were asymptomatic and 20.8% required mechanical ventilation. Coinfections were not detected during the outbreaks. Conclusions: Infants in a neonatal intensive care unit who develop abrupt respiratory symptoms should be tested for respiratory viruses, especially respiratory syncytial virus. Even in the absence of severe symptoms, respiratory syncytial virus detection can prevent nosocomial transmission through infection control measures. A better understanding of respiratory syncytial virus molecular epidemiology is essential for developing new vaccines and antiviral drugs against respiratory syncytial virus. Resumo: Objetivo: O vírus sincicial respiratório é um patógeno frequentemente envolvido em surtos nosocomiais. Embora vários estudos tenham relatado tais surtos em unidades de terapia intensiva neonatal, os dados epidemiológicos moleculares são escassos. Neste artigo, descrevemos dois surtos consecutivos de vírus sincicial respiratório causados pelos genótipos ON-1 e NA-2 em uma unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal em São Paulo, Brasil. Métodos: Uma busca prospectiva por vírus sincicial respiratório foi realizada após o diagnóstico do caso índice e outros quatro recém-nascidos sintomáticos na unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal. Amostras de aspirado nasofaríngeo de todos os pacientes da unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal foram testadas para 17 vírus respiratórios com reação em cadeia da polimerase via transcriptase reversa em tempo real. A genotipagem foi realizada utilizando sequenciamento de nucleotídeos. Resultados: De maio a agosto de 2013, foram detectados dois surtos diferentes na unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal. Vinte e quatro crianças foram infectadas com vírus sincicial respiratório-A (10 e 14 com os genótipos ON-1 e NA-2, respectivamente). A média da idade dos lactentes era de 10 dias, o peso médio ao nascer foi de 1961 g e a idade gestacional média de 33 semanas. Fatores de risco (doença cardíaca, doença pulmonar e prematuridade) estavam presentes em 80% e 85,7% dos bebês nos grupos ON-1 e NA-2, respectivamente. No total, 45,8% dos lactentes eram assintomáticos e 20,8% necessitaram de ventilação mecânica. Não foram detectadas coinfecções durante os surtos. Conclusões: Bebês em unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal que desenvolvem sintomas respiratórios abruptos devem ser testados para vírus respiratórios, especialmente o vírus sincicial respiratório. Mesmo na ausência de sintomas graves, a detecção de vírus sincicial respiratório pode prevenir a transmissão nosocomial através de medidas de controle de infecção. Um melhor entendimento da epidemiologia molecular do vírus sincicial respiratório é essencial para o desenvolvimento de novas vacinas e drogas antivirais contra o vírus sincicial respiratório. Resumo A partir dos aprendizados de uma etnografia das práticas de graffiti de São Paulo, realizada nos anos de 2016 e 2017, este artigo propõe um deslocamento do olhar a respeito deste fazer, a fim de refletir sobre aquilo que lhe escapa à primeira vista, isto é, certas dinâmicas que estão para além dos muros da cidade. Busca-se, sob esta perspectiva, descrever e refletir sobre os efeitos que estas práticas produzem nos sujeitos que pintam na rua, especialmente no que diz respeito à formulação de suas identidades e à maneira com que se relacionam com o espaço urbano. Este entendimento permite evidenciar a elaboração de uma existência particular na cidade, informada pelas experiências de pintar na rua.

Resumo: Visibilidade às potencialidades subversivas do corpo é uma característica marcante das culturas queer/cuir, que tem reconhecido na região anal, um potente lugar para questionar os rígidos padrões binários de gênero e reinventar mundos possíveis para dissidências sexuais. Deleuze e Guattari trazem o ânus para o debate intelectual que floresce em autores como Guy Hocquenghem e Paul Preciado. O cu ganha destaque nos estudos queer em obras como as de autoras brasileiras (Pelúcio, Mombaça, Pedra Costa) e espanhóis (Preciado, Sáez e Carrascosa) e tem rompido com interditos nebulosos, ganhado a luz das telas em filmes como Bixa Tracesty, Cuceta e A Rosa Azul de Novalis trazidos neste artigo. A visibilidade deste tabu corporal nestas obras audiovisuais aponta rupturas nas estruturas coloniais heteronormativas, cisgêneras, racistas e patriarcais dominantes ao passo que valoriza as camadas subalternizadas da sociedade friccionando relações éticas e estéticas protagonizadas por bixas e travestis. Com este trabalho elencamos os principais desdobramentos destas imagens anais que vinculam-se às perspectivas de descolonização que reconfiguram contextos comunicacionais/midiáticos, pensamento crítico cultural e identitários no audiovisual brasileiro.

Abstract This study evaluated an intermittently aerated, fixed-bed, single-batch reactor, with mini BioBob© as biofilm media support, as an alternative treatment of craft brewery wastewater. In order to remove chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total nitrogen (TN), seven conditions were performed in a central composite experimental design (CCD) with different aeration times (1, 2 and 3 h in a 4 h cycle) and hydraulic retention times (HRT) (12, 16 and 20 h). The results showed that the removal of COD and TN were positively affected by increased aeration time and HRT. The condition that presented the best quality effluent was Condition No. 1 (20 h HRT and 3 h aeration), with 209 ± 28 mg COD L-1; 3.00 ± 0.15 mg TKN L-1 ; and 0.67 ± 0.11 mg NO3-N L-1. Kinetic assays showed that the highest values for the substrate removal rate constant, kCOD = 0.1774 h-1 were obtained with the longest aeration time (3 h). The most probable number (MPN) test showed a higher concentration of denitrifying bacteria (heterotrophic), 3.3 x 106, than for AOB and NOB bacteria (autotrophic), which were 4.9 x 103 and 2.7 x 103, respectively. Moreover, it was possible to verify that correcting the influent alkalinity with 7.14 mg CaCO3 for each 1 mg of TKN resulted in better process efficiency. It was concluded that COD and TN can be removed from craft brewery wastewater using an intermittently aerated, fixed-bed, single-batch reactor with mini Biobob© as biofilm media support.

The aim of the present study was to verify if a protocol for cleaning the oral cavity of infants in the pre-dental period can reduce extrinsic salivary metabolites observed through Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). A cross-sectional clinical study with a convenience sample was conducted, and infants were recruited at the UFRJ Pediatric Dentistry Clinic. Participants who had used antibiotics and/or antifungals up to 3 months before and whose legal guardians did not consent or sign the Informed Consent Form were excluded. An anamnesis was performed with the guardians and the participants' intraoral clinical examination. Initial collection of unstimulated total saliva was performed using an automatic pipette with sterile plastic tips in the buccal floor region, at least 1 h after the last feeding. Subsequently, the infants' oral mucosa was cleaned with gauze moistened with filtered water, and after 5 min, a new collection was performed, using the same methodology. The obtained samples were immediately transferred on ice to the laboratory, centrifuged (10,000 g), and stored at −80°C. The NMR analyses were performed using a 500-MHz spectrometer Bruker, Germany); evaluations were done via the 1H and 1H-1H TOCSY spectra for metabolite signaling. Eleven pre-dental infants were evaluated, with a mean age of 3.8 months, including six girls (55%). Of these, nine participants (82%) were exclusively breastfed. The higher presence of components such as lactose, glucose, sugars, acetate, alanine, and lactate were observed in the samples before oral mucosa cleaning. Regarding the type of diet, more lactose was observed in the saliva of patients who were exclusively breastfed than those that received mixed feeding. We conclude that the oral mucosa cleaning of infants in the pre-dental period tends to reduce the concentration of extrinsic components from the diet, such as lactose, in the salivary metabolomic profile analyzed by NMR.

Um felino de quatro anos de idade, macho e sem raça definida foi atendido com histórico de surgimento de uma massa avermelhada no canto medial do bulbo ocular esquerdo. Ao exame oftalmológico foi observado o prolapso da glândula da terceira pálpebra, hiperemia e secreção em conjuntiva. O animal foi submetido ao procedimento cirúrgico de reposição da glândula pela técnica de Morgan modificada. Após a cirurgia, notou-se melhora dos sinais clínicos. O animal foi acompanhado durante 3 anos após o procedimento e não houve, até o presente momento, a recidiva do prolapso da glândula. Esse é o primeiro caso relatado no Brasil de prolapso da glândula terceira pálpebra em felino. A técnica cirúrgica utilizada foi efetiva na resolução da condição.

Ctenocephalides felis felis é um ectoparasito da ordem sifonada de grande importância na medicina veterinária e na saúde pública. Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a influência de diferentes idades de adultos da espécie C. felis felis suscetibilidade ao fipronil quando submetido a teste in vitro . Foram utilizadas pulgas adultas oriundas da colônia laboratorial de C. felis felis . Uma metodologia utilizada foi a impregnação de papel com filtro com concentração de 0,008mg.cm -² Foram formados oito grupos experimentais, de acordo com a idade das pulgas (Grupos de 0, 7, 14 e 21 dias). O critério de avaliação usado foi de mobilidade, avaliado em 24 e 48 horas após o desafio. Após 24 horas, após 21 dias de eclodidas, obtém-se um índice de 100% de mortalidade, que diminui de acordo com a idade. Como 14 dias obtiveram 98,3% de mortalidade, 7 dias 93,1% e 0 dias 86,7%. No período de 48 horas, o fipronil apresenta 100% de eficácia em todos os idades. Com base nos resultados, pode-se concluir que a idade da pulsa não influenciou na resposta do teste in vitro quanto à suscetibilidade ao fipronil, em 24 e 48 horas.

Demodicose é uma dermatose parasitária considerada incomum no gato doméstico. Este estudo tem como objetivo relatar o primeiro sucesso terapêutico do sarolaner por via oral no tratamento de Demodex spp. em um gato naturalmente infestado no Brasil. Um gato adulto, positivo para o vírus da leucemia felina e em tratamento com glicocorticóides, apresentava sinais clínicos da pele como prurido intenso, hiperceratose, lignificação, fragilidade da pele e alopecia simétrica. O diagnóstico foi confirmado em arranhões na pele, impressão em tiras de acetato e exame coproparasitológico. Após o diagnóstico, o sarolaner foi administrado por via oral (4mg / kg). A avaliação foi realizada com arranhões na pele 24, 48 horas e 7, 14, 21 e 28 dias após o tratamento. Após 21 dias, nenhum ácaro foi observado e houve uma melhora na fragilidade da pele e na repilação parcial. Com base nos resultados deste estudo, pode-se concluir que o sarolaner foi eficaz no tratamento da sarna demodécica felina.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, among its many consequences, the number of lawsuits relatedto mental health has increased. In addition, the purpose of this story was to show how internal online psychodrama contributed to dealing with the anxieties and anxieties that will arise with the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a case study, about a patient undergoing online bipersonal psychodramatic psychotherapy. It was concluded that the symbolic realization of that future will complement the help in preparing the patient in the face of the uncertainties of the post-pandemic future.

This study aimed to understand how the psychotherapeutic bond develops in bipersonal online psychodrama. This is an action research, through a case study of a 20-year-old woman, with an analysis of the first five sessions of about 50 minutes. It was possible to conclude that the link in online psychodrama has differences in relation to the face-to-face, but it is noted that there are many psychodramatic contributions to its development, from the theory (man and world view) as well as psychodramatic techniques.

Leishmania parasites present astonishing adaptative abilities that represent a matter of life or death within disparate environments during the heteroxenous parasite life cycle. From an evolutionary perspective, organisms develop methods of overcoming such challenges. Strategies that extend beyond the genetic diversity have been discussed and include variability between parasite cells during the infections of their hosts. The occurrence of Leishmania subpopulation fluctuations with variable structural genomic contents demonstrates that a single strain might shelter the variability required to overcome inconsistent environments. Such intrastrain variability provides parasites with an extraordinary ability to adapt and thus survive and propagate. However, different perspectives on this evolution have been proposed. Strains or species living in the same environment can cooperate but also compete. These interactions might increase the replication rate of some parasites but cause the loss of more aggressive competitors for others. Adaptive responses to intra- and interspecific competition can evolve as a fixed strategy (replication is adapted to the average genetic complexity of infections) or an optional strategy (replication varies according to the genetic complexity of the current infection). This review highlights the complexity of interspecies and intrastrain interactions among Leishmania parasites as well as the different factors that influence this interplay.
