Abstract Physical activity offers numerous physical and mental health benefits for individuals with disabilities, while nutrition plays a crucial role in maintaining bodily homeostasis. This study aimed to assess the relationship between body composition and dietary habits among physically active people with disabilities. Fifty-five participants aged 16 to 61, including 28 with disabilities and 27 without, were included in the study. The FFQ-6 questionnaire, Tanita body composition analyzer, and Stadiometer were utilized. No significant differences in BMI were observed between the two groups. However, individuals with disabilities showed higher body fat, metabolic age, or pulse values, whereas the control group exhibited higher muscle mass, muscle quality, body type, or bone mass. Participants with disabilities were more likely to consume vegetables (p = 0.004) and animal fats (p = 0.027), while those without disabilities were more inclined to consume fast food, instant products (p = 0.006), sweetened beverages (p

Background: SARS-CoV-2 can damage human placentas, leading to pregnancy complications, such as preeclampsia and premature birth. This study investigates the histopathological changes found in COVID-19-affected placentas. Materials and Methods: This study included 23 placentas from patients with active COVID-19 during delivery and 22 samples from patients without COVID-19 infection in their medical history. The samples underwent histopathological examination for pathology, such as trophoblast necrosis, signs of vessel damage, or fetal vascular malperfusion. Results: Newborns from the research group have lower weights and Apgar scores than healthy newborns. In the COVID-19 group, calcifications and collapsed intervillous space were more frequent, and inflammation was more severe than in the healthy group. At the same time, the placenta of SARS-CoV-2-positive patients showed signs of accelerated vascular maturation. Trophoblast necrosis was found only in the placentas of the research group. The expression of CD68+ was elevated in the COVID-19 cohort, suggesting that macrophages constituted a significant part of the inflammatory infiltrate. The increase in lymphocyte B markers was associated with placental infarctions, while high levels of CD3+, specific for cytotoxic T lymphocytes, correlated with vascular injury. Conclusions: SARS-CoV-2 is associated with pathological changes in the placenta, including trophoblast necrosis, calcification, and accelerated villous maturation. Those changes appear to be driven by T cells and macrophages, whose increased expression reflects ongoing histiocytic intervillositis in the placenta.

With a bit of rational approach may continue playing your favorite sport, or participate in activities prepared especially for pregnant women. Physical activity practiced regularly during pregnancy is a key factor in the health and well-being of the mother. Exercise influence on health status by reducing the pain of the spine, improve general or no deterioration of physical fitness, prevention of excessive weight gain and improving well being pregnant. Extra and, at the same time, the most important effect is to increase the physical capacity required for the labor forces of nature and shorten its course and recovery time of the organism in the postpartum period, and hence a faster return to pre-pregnancy form.

During the putative "implantation window", a period of maximal endometrial receptivity that spans 7-9 days after ovulation, a series of changes on the structural and molecular level occur that render the endometrium susceptible to implantation for the human embryo. Many members of the TGFbetas are expressed by human endometrium at different stages of menstrual cycle. Also studies regarding the MMP2 gene expression and activity of MMP2 in the implantation window have shown a higher expression and activity of MMP2 in women with impaired fertility. We have examined by RT-PCR the expression of TGFbeta2 and MMP2, MMP9 and TIMP1 in 28 patients with idiopathic infertility, 16 patients with unexplained recurrent miscarriage and 16 control women were enrolled in this study. Seven to nine days after ovulation endometrial biopsy by Pipelle or hysteroscopy was performed to assess the expression of TGFbeta2 , MMP2, MMP9 and TIMP1. We found that in endometria from women with idiopathic infertility TGFbeta2 expression was 2.8 fold higher than in endometria from control group and 2.1 fold higher in endometrial samples from women with unexplained recurrent miscarriage compared to the control group. The MMP2, MMP9 and TIMP1 expression in endometrial samples revealed no significant differences between the study groups and control group. There was a statistically significant negative correlation between TGFbeta2 and MMP9 expression in endometria from women in control group. The present investigations suggest that dysregulated TGFbeta2, MMP2, MMP9 and TIMP1 expression are associated with infertility and early pregnancy loss. However the exact mechanism of how overexpression of endometrial TGFbetaand MMPs interferes with implantation may be more complex.
