Abstracts White organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) show very promising as next-generation light-sources, but achieving high power efficiency (PE) and long operational lifetime remains challenging because of the lack of stable blue emitters that can harvest all triplet (T1) excitons for light emission. Herein, we propose integrating stable azure multi-resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescent (MR-TADF) emitters into tri-color hybrid WOLEDs to tackle these issues. By meticulously selecting MR-TADF emitters and precisely tuning the exciton recombination zone, the optimized tri-color devices based on BCzBN-3B achieve color-stable white light emission with maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) and maximum PE (PEmax) of 34.4% and 101.8 lm W−1, respectively. Furthermore, the LT90, defined as the time for the luminance to drop to 90% of its initial value at 1000 cd m−2, reaches 761 h. In addition, a hybrid WOLED with deep blue emitter developed using our strategy achieves a high color rendering index of 88 and an EQEmax of 30.6%, further demonstrating the versatility and effectiveness of our approach. The record-breaking efficiency and ultra-long lifetime underscore the success of hybrid white-light devices by incorporating robust blue MR-TADF emitters. These advancements open new avenues for commercialization of hybrid WOLEDs, presenting promising solutions for energy-efficient lighting and display technologies.

Abstract Fusing information from LiDAR and cameras can effectively enhance the overall perceptivity of autonomous vehicles in various scenarios. Despite the relatively good results achieved by point-wise fusion and Bird’s-Eye-View (BEV) fusion, they still cannot fully leverage the image information and lack of effective depth information. For any fusion methods, the multi-modal features first need to be concatenated along the channel, and then the fused features are extracted using convolutional layers. However, this type of fusion methods is effective, but too coarse which causes that the fused features cannot pay more attention to the regions with important features and suffer from severe noise. To tackle these issues, we propose in this paper a Dense Projection Fusion (DPFusion) approach. It consists of two new modules: dense depth map guided BEV transform (DGBT) module and multi-modal feature adaptive fusion (MFAF) module. The DGBT module first quickly estimates the depth of each pixel and then projects all image features to the BEV space, making full use of the image information. The MFAF module computes the image weights and point cloud weights for each channel in each BEV grid and then adaptively weights and fuses the image BEV features with the point cloud BEV features. It is worth pointing out that the MFAF module makes the fused features pay more attention to background outline and object outline. Our proposed DPFusion demonstrates competitive results in 3D object detection, achieving a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 70.4 and a nuScenes detection score (NDS) of 72.3 on the nuScenes validation set.

Hardware Trojans (HTs) are a longstanding threat to secure computation. Among different threat models, it is the fabrication-time insertion of additional malicious logic directly into the layout of integrated circuits (ICs) that constitutes the most versatile, yet challenging scenario, for both attackers and defenders. Here, we present a large-scale, first-of-its-kind community effort through red-versus-blue teaming that thoroughly explores this threat. Four independently competing blue teams of 23 IC designers in total had to analyze and fix vulnerabilities of representative IC layouts at the pre-silicon stage, whereas a red team of 3 experts in hardware security and IC design continuously pushed the boundaries of these defense efforts through different HTs and novel insertion techniques. Importantly, we find that, despite the blue teams’ commendable design efforts, even highly-optimized layouts retained at least some exploitable vulnerabilities. Our effort follows a real-world setting for a modern 7nm technology node and industrygrade tooling for IC design, all embedded into a fully-automated and extensible benchmarking framework. To ensure the relevance of this work, strict rules that adhere to real-world requirements for IC design and manufacturing were postulated by the organizers. For example, not a single violation for timing and design-rule checks were allowed for defense techniques. Besides, in an advancement over prior art, neither red nor blue teams were allowed to use any so-called fillers and spares for trivial attack or defense approaches. Finally, we release all methods and artifacts: the representative IC layouts and HTs, the devised attack and defense techniques, the evaluation metrics and setup, the technology setup and commercial-grade reference flow for IC design, the encompassing benchmarking framework, and all best results. This full release enables the community to continue exploring this important challenge for hardware security, in particular to focus on the urgent need for further advancements in defense strategies.

Combining machine vision and deep learning, optical detection technology can achieve intelligent inspection. To address the issues of low efficiency and poor consistency in the quality classification of cork discs used for making badminton heads, research on optimizing the YOLOv5 image-processing algorithm was conducted and applied to cork disc quality detection. Real-time images of cork discs were captured using industrial cameras, and a dataset was independently constructed. A GAN-based defect synthesis algorithm was employed to resolve the lack of defect samples. An attention mechanism was embedded in the YOLOv5 backbone network to enhance feature representation. The number of anchors in the YOLOv5 detection layer was reduced to address similar sample sizes, a center-matching strategy was designed to balance positive samples, and a shortest-distance label assignment algorithm was developed to eliminate ambiguities, improving accuracy and reducing postprocessing complexity. Detection results were integrated into quality classification. Experiments on the NVIDIA RTX3080 GPU demonstrated that the optimized algorithm improved the original YOLOv5 F1 score by 2.4% and mF1 score by 9.0%, achieving a quality classification F1 score of 95.1%, a processing speed of 178.5 FPS, and an mAP of 81.5%. Comparative experiments showed that the improved algorithm achieved the best detection accuracy on the cork disc dataset while maintaining high processing speed.

ObjectiveTo evaluate serum inflammatory markers of YKL-40, Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Interleukin-8(IL-8), Interleukin-10(IL-10), TNF-α(tumor necrosis factor-α), and CRP (C-reactive protein) in children with and without OSAS.MethodsThe ELISA technique has been used to identify the concentration of inflammatory markers such as YKL-40, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, TNF-α, and CRP in the serum of 83 children with OSAS and 83 children without OSAS.ResultsSerum levels of YKL-40, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10 were found to be increased in children with OSAS. YKL-40 was found to be positively correlated with IL-6 and IL-8, and negatively correlated with IL-10. At the same time,YKL-40 was also found to be positively correlated with OAHI and LoSpO2% in OSAS group. IL-8 was positively correlated with OAHI whereas IL-10 was positively correlated with LoSpO2.ConclusionChildren with OSAS are in a systemic inflammatory state. YKL-40 together with IL-8 may act as serum inflammatory markers and provide an indication for the diagnosis of children with OSAS.

ObjectiveTo explore the results of the Gamma Knife radiosurgery (GKRS) for World Health Organization (WHO) grade I intracranial meningiomas after surgical resection.MethodsA total of 130 patients who were pathologically diagnosed as having WHO grade I meningiomas and who underwent post-operative GKRS were retrospectively reviewed in a single center.ResultsOf the 130 patients, 51 patients (39.2%) presented with radiological tumor progression with a median follow-up time of 79.7 months (ranging from 24.0 to 291.3 months). The median time to radiological tumor progression was 73.4 months (ranging from 21.4 to 285.3 months), whereas 1-, 3-, 5-, and 10-year radiological progression-free survival (PFS) was 100, 90, 78, and 47%, respectively. Moreover, 36 patients (27.7%) presented with clinical tumor progression. Clinical PFS at 1, 3, 5, and 10 years was 96, 91, 84, and 67%, respectively. After GKRS, 25 patients (19.2%) developed adverse effects, including radiation-induced edema (n = 22). In a multivariate analysis, a tumor volume of ≥10 ml and falx/parasagittal/convexity/intraventricular location were significantly associated with radiological PFS [hazard ratio (HR) = 1.841, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.018–3.331, p = 0.044; HR = 1.761, 95% CI = 1.008–3.077, p = 0.047]. In a multivariate analysis, a tumor volume of ≥10 ml was associated with radiation-induced edema (HR = 2.418, 95% CI = 1.014–5.771, p = 0.047). Of patients who presented with radiological tumor progression, nine were diagnosed with malignant transformation. The median time to malignant transformation was 111.7 months (ranging from 35.0 to 177.2 months). Clinical PFS after repeat GKRS was 49 and 20% at 3 and 5 years, respectively. Secondary WHO grade II meningiomas were significantly associated with a shorter PFS (p = 0.026).ConclusionsPost-operative GKRS is a safe and effective treatment for WHO grade I intracranial meningiomas. Large tumor volume and falx/parasagittal/convexity/intraventricular location were associated with radiological tumor progression. Malignant transformation was one of the main cause of tumor progression in WHO grade I meningiomas after GKRS.

ObjectiveTo examine the role of transnasal endoscopic approaches in the management of intraconal tumors and demonstrate the use of an eyelid speculum in comparison with different techniques of medial rectus muscle (MRM) retraction.MethodsRetrospective data of five patients with intraconal tumors operated on and followed up by the senior authors between December 2019 and April 2022 was collected. Presenting symptoms, technical details, imaging and histology findings, outcomes, and complications were evaluated.ResultsFour primary and one recurrent tumor were identified. The mean patient age was 50 (range, 29–64) years. One tumor was located lateral to the optic nerve, one central and three medial. A complete surgical resection was obtained in four primary cases and a partial resection was achieved in the recurrent case. The MRM was retracted using three different techniques: (1) an infant eyelid speculum creating an operative window between the medial and inferior rectus muscle, (2) external MRM disinsertion transconjunctivally, (3) a four-handed technique performed transseptally by two surgeons. Transient postoperative ophthalmoplegia was recorded in four cases and transient ptosis in one. Three patients completely recovered in 2–3 months while one undergoing MRM disinsertion ended up in restricted strabismus at 15-month follow-up. No other long-term complications have been noted in all five patients with a mean follow-up of 22 (range, 14–32) months. No patients with primary tumors have required additional surgery for tumor recurrence.ConclusionThe indication of endoscopic intraconal surgery may expand to lesions lateral to the optic nerve when the nerve is not in its natural position. The well-known advantages of the endoscopic techniques, namely the lack of external scars, better visualization, less bleeding, and fewer complications, were confirmed. An eye speculum provides a better surgical corridor and eases the pressure exerted on the MRM, which has a promising application prospect.

Drought and nutrient deficiency pose great challenges to the successful establishment of native plants on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The dominant factors and strategies that affect the adaptation of alpine herbs to dry and nutrient-deficient environments remain unclear. Three water gradients were established using two-factor controlled experiments: low water (WL), medium water (WM), and high water (WH). The field water-holding capacities were 35%, 55%, and 75%, respectively. Nitrogen fertilizer (N) was applied at four levels: control (CK), low (FL), medium (FM), and high (FH) at 0, 110, 330, and 540 mg/kg, respectively. The results revealed that N was the main limiting factor, rather than phosphorous (P), in Festuca coelestis under drought stress. Under water shortage conditions, F. coelestis accumulated more proline and non-structural carbohydrates, especially in the aboveground parts of the leaves and stems; however, the root diameter and aboveground nitrogen use efficiency were reduced. Appropriate N addition could mitigate the adverse effects by increasing the release of N, P, and enzyme activity in the bulk soil and rhizosphere to balance their ratio, and was mainly transferred to the aboveground parts, which optimized the supply uptake relationship. The effects of water and fertilizer on the physiological adaptability and nutrient utilization of F. coelestis were verified using structural equation modeling. Based on their different sensitivities to water and nitrogen, the WHFM treatment was more suitable for F. coelestis establishment. Our results demonstrated that the disproportionate nutrient supply ability and preferential supply aboveground compared to below ground were the main factors influencing F. coelestis seedling establishment under drought conditions. This study provides evidence for a better understanding of herbaceous plants living in high mountain regions and offers important information for reducing the risk of ecological restoration failure in similar alpine regions.

Reseeding with native plants to rebuild alpine meadow has become a popular way of ecological restoration. However, the harsh environment poses a great challenge to the establishment of native plants due to poor management of water and nutrients. How water–fertilizer interaction influences dominant grass species is still unclear, and reasonable water and fertilizer conditions are still not determined. Our results showed that addition of nitrogen could mitigate the photosynthetic and water-use traits caused by water stress, i.e., a reduction in Pn and water use results from fewer and thinner leaves, weak stomatal traits, etc. Compared to the control, the peak Pn values of Poa crymophila, Festuca coelestis, and Stipa purpurea increased significantly (71.2%, 108.4%, and 25.4%, respectively). Under drought stress, Pn tended to decrease due to reduced stomatal conductance (Gs). However, appropriate fertilization buffered against Pn decreases by altering the stomatal size and regulating the Gs. Based on reduced water consumption, the water-use efficiency of P. crymophila and F. coelestis decreased whereas that of S. purpurea increased. WHFH for P. crymophila and F. coelestis and WHFL for S. purpurea growth were suitable for the alpine region. WHFH for P. crymophila and F. coelestis and WHFL for S. purpurea were suitable for their establishment in the alpine region. A reasonable water–fertilizer combination could effectively reduce the risk of establishment failure in ecological restoration.

This study deals with a tracking problem for hidden human targets using time-division multiple-input-multiple-output through-wall imaging radar (TWIR). An efficient image-domain tracking algorithm is proposed. Specifically, the authors first utilise back-projection algorithm and the phase coherence factor (PCF) to obtain multi-frame high quality images. Then a tracking algorithm via amplitude-distribution-based particle filter is proposed. Experimental data validates that this algorithm has a commendable effectiveness for hidden target tracking.

Hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) is widely used to increase the sweep efficiency of water phase in oil reservoirs. It is very important to select proper polymer for the reservoirs. In this study, a series of ultra high molecular weight HPAMs were synthesized and characterized by FT-IR analysis. Their physical properties were tested under reservoir condition. BP neural network (BPNN) was employed to forecast the viscosity of high molecular weight HPAM in produced water. The input indices including molecular weight, solid content, degree of hydrolysis, water-insoluble residue, polymer concentration, temperature of reservoir and salinity of produced water. The results show that all physical properties fulfill the requirements of Q/SY DQ1059-2005. This BPNN can predict the viscosity of ultra high molecular weight HPAM accurately. Bacterial colonization and biofilm formation on the surface of materials can lead to serious bacterial infections and are highly detrimental to our health. Here, we prepared a water-insoluble HPL-DOSS complex by compounding hyperbranched polylysine (HPL) with docusate sodium salt (DOSS) and coated HPL-DOSS onto the surfaces of the commercial polypropylene (PP) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) plastics to afford antibacterial PP-HD and TPU-HD plastics. PP-HD and TPU-HD showed excellent antibacterial activities against both Escherichia coli and MRSA. In addition, the bacterial residues on the PP-HD and TPU-HD surfaces were significantly reduced compared with the pristine PP and TPU surfaces, indicating that the HPL-DOSS surface coating had good anti-adhesive property against bacteria and helped to reduce the formation of biofilms. Meanwhile, both PP-HD and TPU-HD exhibited excellent biocompatibility, indicating that the HPL-DOSS complex could be used as a safe antimicrobial coating material to reduce bacterial infections on plastic surfaces. This study develop an adaptive stationary target imaging technique based on the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method for the time-division multiple-input multiple-output through-wall radar. By exploiting the discrimination between the respiratory rate and the environmental clutters' frequency, the weak echoes of the stationary target are enhanced via EMD processing adaptively.
