Sepsis is a serious, potentially fatal disease caused by the body's reaction to microbial invasions by bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Current research shows that the process of fighting sepsis passes through two phases. The first phase is a cytokine storm, and the second phase involves a cycle of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses led by Regulatory CD4+ T-cells (CD4+ Tregs). Various immunomodulatory therapies have been proposed to break the cycle of pro- and anti-inflammatory reactions to sepsis. However, clinical trials are yet to show any promising results, indicating the need for further research into the mechanisms behind Treg dysfunction. We used next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis of five datasets comprising of bulk RNA-seq and single-cell RNA-seq data to explore our research question. Our results identified Acod1 (Aconitate Decarboxylase 1) as a primary mediator of Treg suppression of immune cells as well as various metabolic pathways regulated by IL4 and IL10. scRNA-seq analysis showed that Acod1 and FoxP3 were localised in the same Treg-like cells. Further evidence from our study further suggests a mutual positive regulation loop between Acod1 and FoxP3 in sepsis. Additionally, CD36 was identified as a downstream target of Acod1. CD36 is a known metabolite regulator in Tregs, where it functions as a transporter of long fatty chains (LCFA) and is regulated by IL4 and IL10. Taken together, our results indicate that the metabolic CD36/Acod1 axis could be responsible for the continuous activation of Treg in sepsis. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of pomegranate juice consumption on bone histomorphometric parameters using an animal model. The animals (rats) were divided into 7 experimental groups. The groups differed in the concentration of pomegranate juice administered. The control group received only water, the other groups were supplied with commercial or freshly squeezed pomegranate juice at concentrations of 10%, 25% and 50%. To study the structure of the proximal end of the tibia, a Skyscan 1174 X-ray microtomography device, equipped with a 1.3Mp FW VDS camera, was used. The proximal end (metaphysis) of the left tibia was examined. The following bone tissue parameters were analysed: bone mineral density (BMD) (mm3), the number of trabeculae (Tb.N) (mm-1), trabecular separation (Tb.Sp) (mm) and trabecular thickness (Tb. Th) (mm), BS/BV(mm-1). It was found that 25% pomegranate juice, both freshly squeezed and commercial, significantly increased bone density (BMD), increased trabecular thickness (Tb.TH), and reduced the distance between trabeculae (Tb.SP) compared to the control group and groups receiving juice at other concentrations. The highest BMD, the thickest trabeculae and the smallest distance between trabeculae were observed after the application of fresh 25% pomegranate juice. Autoimmune Regulator 1 (AIRE1) and Forebrain Embryonic Zinc Finger-Like Protein 2 (FEZF2) play pivotal roles in orchestrating the expression of tissue-restricted antigens (TRA) to facilitate the elimination of autoreactive T cells. AIRE1's presence in the gonads of various vertebrates has raised questions about its potential involvement in gene expression control for germline cell selection. Nevertheless, the evolutionary history of these genes has remained enigmatic, as has the rationale behind their apparent redundancy in vertebrates. Furthermore, the origin of the elimination process itself has remained elusive. To shed light on these mysteries, we conducted a comprehensive evolutionary analysis employing a range of tools, including multiple sequence alignment, phylogenetic tree construction, ancestral sequence reconstruction, and positive selection assessment. Our investigations revealed intriguing insights. AIRE1 homologs emerged during the divergence of T cells in higher vertebrates, signifying its role in this context. Conversely, FEZF2 exhibited multiple homologs spanning invertebrates, lampreys, and higher vertebrates. Ancestral sequence reconstruction demonstrated distinct origins for AIRE1 and FEZF2, underscoring that their roles in regulating TRA have evolved through disparate pathways. Furthermore, it became evident that both FEZF2 and AIRE1 govern a diverse repertoire of genes, encompassing ancient and more recently diverged targets. Notably, FEZF2 demonstrates expression in both vertebrate and invertebrate embryos and germlines, accentuating its widespread role. Intriguingly, FEZF2 harbors motifs associated with autophagy, such as DKFPHP, SYSELWKSSL, and SYSEL, a process integral to cell selection in invertebrates. Our findings suggest that FEZF2 initially emerged to regulate self-elimination in the gonads of invertebrates. As organisms evolved toward greater complexity, AIRE1 likely emerged to complement FEZF2's role, participating in the regulation of cell selection for elimination in both gonads and the thymus. The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of cranberry juice on bone microstructure. The research was carried out on an animal model (experimental animals, Windstar rats). The structure of the proximal tibial metaphysis was analyzed using micro CT, and X-ray microtomography equipment with a VDS 1.3Mp FW camera. It was found that cranberry juice increased bone mineral density (BMD). It also increased the thickness of the bone trabeculae (Tb.Th). The highest BMD value was observed in group drinking a 10% concentration of cranberry juice. In rats drinking 25% concentration, an increase in Tb.Th was observed compared to the two other groups, including the control group. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Anthocyanins are water-soluble pigments contained in numerous food plants. This study provides an overall quantitative literature analysis on anthocyanins. Bibliometric data were collected through the search string TOPIC = anthocyan*, which yielded 44,121 publications indexed within the Web of Science Core Collection. Term maps were generated using VOSviewer software to visualize frequently mentioned terms alongside their citation data. The literature has been growing fast since the 2000s and predominantly consists of original articles, with a ratio of 13.8:1 compared to reviews. The most productive author was Professor Victor de Freitas from the University of Porto, whereas the most productive countries were China and the United States. Many publications were published in food science & technology and plant sciences journals. Frequently mentioned chemicals/chemical classes included anthocyanin, flavonoid, cyanidin, phenolic compound, and polyphenol. Controlling CD4+ immune cell infiltration of the brain is a leading aim in designing therapeutic strategies for a range of neuropathological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and depression. CD4+ T cells are a highly heterogeneous and reprogrammable family, which includes various distinctive cell types such as Th17, Th1, and Treg cells. Interestingly Th17 and Treg cells share a related transcriptomic profile, where the TGFβ–SMADS pathway plays a fundamental role in regulating the differentiation of both of these cell types. However, Th17 could be highly pathogenic and was shown to promote inflammation in various neuropathological disorders. Conversely, Treg is anti-inflammatory and is known to inhibit Th17. It could be noticed that Th17 frequencies of infiltration of the blood–brain barrier in various neurological disorders are significantly upregulated. However, Treg infiltration numbers are significantly low. The reasons behind these contradicting observations are still unknown. In this perspective, we propose that the difference in the T-cell receptor repertoire diversity, diapedesis pathways, chemokine expression, and mechanical properties of these two cell types could be contributing to answering this intriguing question. Use of multi-strain probiotics in poultry nutrition provides advantages, including promoting microbial diversity in the birds' gut. Less investigated, as compared to broilers, is how application of probiotics affects performance and health of Japanese quails. Up to date effects of either probiotics based on a single microorganism or using a single dose of probiotic were investigated. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of gradual levels of multi-strain probiotic applied in the Japanese quails' diet on their performance, carcass, microbiological and immunological parameters. Total of 240 Japanese quail mixed sex chicks were randomly selected into four treatments: 0.15, 0.10, 0.05 g/l of the probiotic and control group not provided with probiotic. Body weight gain (BWG), feed intake (FI), feed conversion ratio (FCR), carcass characteristics, selected gut microbiome species and sheep red blood cell (SRBC) immunoglobulin IgT, IgG and IgM antibodies were determined. Repeated measures ANOVA was performed on parameters related to productive performance of the birds, while one-way ANOVA on all other parameters using SAS software v 9.4. FI was the highest in the control group (16.84±2.19) and did not differ significantly between other groups (from 16.53±2.12 to 15.18±1.86). FCR was the highest in the control and the lowest dose group (3.15±0.28 and 3.07±0.27), as compared to two other groups of birds which received multi-strain probiotic (2.8±0.23 and 2.77±0.24, respectively). Birds in the control group and birds which received the lowest dose of the probiotic had lower counts of IgT (5.63±0.26 and 5.75±0.25, respectively) and IgG (4.00±0.38 and 4.13±0.3, respectively), as compared to two other treatment groups which received the multi-strain probiotic. Birds which did not receive the multi-strain probiotic had significantly lower levels of Lactobacillus (6.98±0.01), as compared to other birds, while those in the control group and which received lowest amount of probiotic had significantly higher levels of E.Coli (6.67±0.01). The MCC family of genes plays a role in colorectal cancer development through various immunological pathways, including the Th17/Treg axis. We have previously shown that MCC1 but not MCC2 plays a role in Treg differentiation. Our understanding of the genetic divergence patterns and evolutionary history of the MCC family in relation to its function, in general, and the Th17/Treg axis, in particular, remains incomplete. In this investigation, we explored 12 species' genomes to study the phylogenetic origin, structure, and functional specificity of this family. In vertebrates, both MCC1 and MCC2 homologs have been discovered, while invertebrates have a single MCC homolog. We found MCC homologs as early as Cnidarians and Trichoplax, suggesting that the MCC family first appeared 741 million years ago (Ma), whereas MCC divergence into the MCC1 and MCC2 families occurred at 540 Ma. In general, we did not detect significant positive selection regulating MCC evolution. Our investigation, based on MCC1 structural similarity, suggests that they may play a role in the evolutionary changes in Tregs' emergence towards complexity, including the ability to utilize calcium for differentiation through the use of the EFH calcium-binding domain. We also found that the motif NPSTGE was highly conserved in MCC1, but not in MCC2. The NPSTGE motif binds KEAP1 with high affinity, suggesting an Nrf2-mediated function for MCC1. In the case of MCC2, we found that the "modifier of rudimentary" motif is highly conserved. This motif contributes to the regulation of alternative splicing. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is defined as a clinical syndrome characterized by excessive fat accumulation in liver, predominantly influenced by dietary choices. This study provides an extensive quantitative literature analysis on dietary influences on NAFLD. Bibliometric data were collected through the search string TOPIC = ("NAFLD*" OR "nonalcoholic fatty liver*" OR "non-alcoholic fatty liver*") AND TOPIC = ("diet*" OR "nutrition*" OR "food*" OR "feed*"), which yielded 12,445 publications indexed within the Web of Science Core Collection. Utilizing VOSviewer software, term maps were generated to visually illustrate recurring phrases alongside citation data. The literature, which has seen exponential growth since the 2010s, predominantly consists of original articles, with a ratio of 4.7:1 compared to reviews. Notably, the significant contributors to this field were China and the United States. The majority of publications were found journals specialized in Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Nutrition & Dietetics, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Endocrinology & Metabolism, and Pharmacology & Pharmacy. Key dietary compounds/compounds classes such as resveratrol, polyphenols, curcumin, berberine, quercetin, flavonoids, omega-3 fatty acids, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), genistein, and palmitic acid were frequently mentioned and cited. The free-range system improves chicken's welfare and enriches their diet. There is little information about influence of chickens on the sward quality. The aim of the study was to identify differences in the chemical and botanical composition of the pasture sward used by chickens and to assess if frequency of chicken exits outdoors is associated with the botanical composition of the ranging areas. One hundred twenty non-beak trimmed mixed sex birds of Green-legged Partridge (GP) and Sasso line C44 (S) were used. Each pen had direct access to an individual outdoor range providing 10.5 m2 per chicken, video-recorded continuously. Vegetation coverage regarding botanical composition was determined based on botanical-weight analysis from three control plots, while range use was calculated from the video material. The data were analysed by ANOVA model in SAS software (v 9.4). Regarding chemical composition, fiber content was higher in dry matter from the control pastures. Significantly more Dactylis glomerata (L.) and Alopecurus pratensis (L.) were observed on ranges used by Sasso. The higher share (%) of weeds and grasses was at the ranges used by chickens (weeds: S:8.66 (1.42) and GP:7.61 (0.59) and grasses: S:10.36 (0.96) and GP:12.10 (0.65)) as compared to control plots (1.45 (1.34)) and 3.86 (2.97), respectively) in contrast to legumes ((S:0.01 (0.01) and GP:0.32(0.26)) and sedges (S:0.64 (0.48) and GP: 0.09 (0.06)) most present in the control plots (10.88 (1.55)). Positive association between range use frequency and proportion of Heracleum sphondylium (L.), Rumex acetosa (L.), Festuca rubra (L.), and Lolium perenne (L.) was observed for Sasso, while foe Green-legged Partridges with proportion of Armoracia rusticana (L.), Stellaria media (L.), Ranunculus repens (L.), Cirsium arvense (L.) and Rumex crispus (L.). Concluding, the sward quality of the ranging areas was affected by the presence of the chickens and it differed between genotypes. Unknown remain if birds used the pasture more frequently depending on its botanical composition or if the pasture composition depended on the frequency of its uses by the birds. Cancer metastases into the brain constitute one of the most severe, but not uncommon, manifestations of cancer progression. Several factors control how cancer cells interact with the brain to establish metastasis. These factors include mediators of signaling pathways participating in migration, infiltration of the blood–brain barrier, interaction with host cells (e.g., neurons, astrocytes), and the immune system. Development of novel therapies offers a glimpse of hope for increasing the diminutive life expectancy currently forecasted for patients suffering from brain metastasis. However, applying these treatment strategies has not been sufficiently effective. Therefore, there is a need for a better understanding of the metastasis process to uncover novel therapeutic targets. In this review, we follow the journey of various cancer cells from their primary location through the diverse processes that they undergo to colonize the brain. These processes include EMT, intravasation, extravasation, and infiltration of the blood–brain barrier, ending up with colonization and angiogenesis. The Th17/ Treg axis is a crucial regulator of anti-inflammatory and proinflammatory pathways that play fundamental roles in cancer and autoimmune diseases. The alteration of the Th17/Tregs axis is highly significant for developing novel therapeutic approaches. Th17 and Treg cells share a large portion of their transcriptome, albeit with distinct functions. The mechanisms governing the bifurcation of Th17 /Treg axis differentiation from naïve T cells are not yet understood. This study aims to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and gene-enriched pathways that contribute to the distinction between these closely aligned phenotypes. We analyzed RNA sequencing data of CD4+ T cells differentiated in vitro into Th0, Th17, and Tregs phenotypes and built gene enrichment networks. We studied the network rewiring of Th17 and Tregs from Th0 cells. In addition to common pathways and genes that are equally expressed between these two distinct phenotypes, we identified key genes and pathways that contribute to their distinctiveness. For example, the Keap1 gene and several of its interactors such as MCC1 were upregulated in Tregs indicating that Tregs possess mechanisms that prevent the over-activation of antioxidants pathways. Tregs also possess several genes that are involved in the hydrolysis of ATP to ADP as RAB37, ATP1A2, ATP1B, and PDE2A to ensure Treg anti-inflammatory capabilities. Additionally, one of the pathways that ensure Tregs differentiation and function seems to point toward an insulin role mediated by APOL9B and GOLM. Taken together our findings shed light on various essential regulators of the Th17/Treg axis and pave the way for treatment strategies that selectively target one phenotype while sparing the other. Drug repurposing in the context of neuroimmunological (NI) investigations is still in its primary stages. Drug repurposing is an important method that bypasses lengthy drug discovery procedures and focuses on discovering new usages for known medications. Neuroimmunological diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, and depression, include various pathologies that result from the interaction between the central nervous system and the immune system. However, the repurposing of NI medications is hindered by the vast amount of information that needs mining. We previously presented Adera1.0, which was capable of text mining PubMed for answering query-based questions. However, Adera1.0 was not able to automatically identify chemical compounds within relevant sentences. To challenge the need for repurposing known medications for neuroimmunological diseases, we built a deep neural network named Adera2.0 to perform drug repurposing. The workflow uses three deep learning networks. The first network is an encoder and its main task is to embed text into matrices. The second network uses a mean squared error (MSE) loss function to predict answers in the form of embedded matrices. The third network, which constitutes the main novelty in our updated workflow, also uses a MSE loss function. Its main usage is to extract compound names from relevant sentences resulting from the previous network. To optimize the network function, we compared eight different designs. We found that a deep neural network consisting of an RNN neural network and a leaky ReLU could achieve 0.0001 loss and 67% sensitivity. Additionally, we validated Adera2.0's ability to predict NI drug usage against the DRUG Repurposing Hub database. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of dried apple pomace (DAP) as a feed additive on the enzymatic activity and non-enzymatic compounds belonging to the antioxidant system in cattle rumen fluid. The experiment included 4 Polish Holstein–Friesian cannulated dairy cows and lasted 52 days. The control group was fed with the standard diet, while in the experimental group, 6% of the feedstuff was replaced by dried apple pomace. After the feeding period, ruminal fluid was collected. The spectrophotometric technique for the activity of lysosomal enzymes, the content of vitamin C, polyphenols, and the potential to scavenge the free DPPH radical was used. The enzyme immunoassay tests (ELISA) were used to establish the activity of antioxidants enzymes and MDA. Among the rumen aminopeptidases, a significant reduction (p < 0.01) from 164.00 to 142.00 was observed for leucyl-aminopeptidase. The activity of glycosidases was decreased for HEX (from 231.00 to 194.00) and β-Glu (from 1294.00 to 1136.00), while a significant statistically increase was noticed for BGRD (from 31.10 to 42.40), α-Glu (from 245.00 to 327.00), and MAN (from 29.70 to 36.70). Furthermore, the activity of catalase and GSH (p < 0.01) was inhibited. In turn, the level of vitamin C (from 22.90 to 24.10) and MDA (from 0.36 to 0.45) was statistically higher (p < 0.01). The most positive correlations were observed between AlaAP and LeuAP (r = 0.897) in the aminopeptidases group and between β-Gal and MAN (r = 0.880) in the glycosidases group. Furthermore, one of the most significant correlations were perceived between SOD and AlaAP (r = 0.505) and AcP (r = 0.450). The most negative correlation was noticed between α-Gal and DPPH (r = −0.533) based on these observations. Apple pomace as a feed additive has an influence on lysosomal degradation processes and modifies oxidation–reduction potential in the rumen fluid. The results of studies conducted so far in the field of supplementing Se deficiency in cow and goat diets demonstrate unequivocally the positive influence of supplements used on the improvement of the health status of animals and an important increase in the concentration of this microelement in the obtained milk. The positive influence on health is reflected in the increased antioxidative status and immunological potential of these animals, in the reduced risk of mastitis, in the improvement of reproductive rate and increased Se transfer to cow foetus. The best results are obtained when the diet is supplemented with selenium yeast. The improvement in animal Se supply also has a positive influence on the increase of antioxidative properties of milk and meat. Further research in the field is necessary, connected among others with determining the relationship between the concentration of Se and antagonistic elements as well as vitamin E. The present study evaluated for the first time citation-impacts of human research reporting guidelines in comparison to their animal version counterparts. Re-examined and extended also were previous findings indicating that a research reporting guideline would be cited more for its versions published in journals with higher Impact Factors, compared to its duplicate versions published in journals with lower Impact Factors. The two top-ranked reporting guidelines listed in the Equator Network website (http://www.equator-network.org/) were CONSORT 2010, for parallel-group randomized trials; and STROBE, for observational studies. These two guidelines had animal study versions, REFLECT and STROBE-Vet, respectively. Together with ARRIVE, these five guidelines were subsequently searched in the Web of Science Core Collection online database to record their journal metrics and citation data. Results found that association between citation rates and journal Impact Factors existed for CONSORT guideline set for human studies, but not for STROBE or their counterparts set for animal studies. If Impact Factor was expressed in terms of journal rank percentile, no association was found except for CONSORT. Guidelines for human studies were much more cited than animal research guidelines, with the CONSORT 2010 and STROBE guidelines being cited 27.1 and 241.0 times more frequently than their animal version counterparts, respectively. In conclusion, while the journal Impact Factor is of importance, other important publishing features also strongly affect scientific manuscript visibility, represented by citation rate. Berberine is an alkaloid with a wide range of reported beneficial health effects. The current work provides an extensive literature analysis on berberine. Bibliometric data were identified by means of the search string TOPIC=(“berberin*” OR “umbellatine*”), which yielded 5,547 publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection electronic database. The VOSviewer software generated bubble maps to visualize semantic terms with citation results. The ratio of original articles to reviews was 13.6:1. The literature has been growing more quickly since the 2010s. Major contributing countries were China, the United States, India, Japan, and South Korea. Most of the publications appeared in journals specialized in pharmacology pharmacy, biochemistry molecular biology, chemistry, and plant science. Some of the frequently mentioned chemicals/chemical classes were alkaloid, palmatine, jatrorrhizine, coptisine, isoquinoline, and sanguinarine. The aim of the study was to compare three types of meat snacks made from ostrich, beef, and chicken meat in relation to their nutrients content including fat, fatty acids, heme iron, and peptides, like anserine and carnosine, from which human health may potentially benefit. Dry meat samples were produced, from one type of muscle, obtained from ostrich (m.ambiens), beef (m. semimembranosus), and broiler chicken meat (m. pectoralis major). The composition of dried ostrich, beef, and chicken meat, with and without spices was compared. We show that meat snacks made from ostrich, beef, and chicken meat were characterized by high concentration of nutrients including proteins, minerals (heme iron especially in ostrich, than in beef), biologically active peptides (carnosine—in beef, anserine—in ostrich then in chicken meat). The, beneficial to human health, n-3 fatty acids levels differed significantly between species. Moreover, ostrich jerky contained four times less fat as compared to beef and half of that in chicken. Despite the existing research into the gut microbiome of meat chickens, the associations between gut microbiome composition, its activity and chicken outdoor ranging frequency remain unexplored. The aim of this study was to determine the gut microbiota composition, activity and metabolic products in chickens of 2 different lines and 3 ranging profiles. Sixty non-beak trimmed birds, either Sasso or Green-legged Partridge were housed with access to outdoor ranges from wk. 5 to 10 of age. Outdoor ranges were video recorded to obtain frequencies of the birds' range use. The information about relative abundance of selected bacterial groups in the ceca including Lactobacillus spp., E. coli, Bifidobacterium spp., and Clostridium spp. was obtained with the PCR method. Gut microbiota activity was assessed based on the glycolytic activity of bacterial enzymes including, α-glucosidase, β-glucosidase, α-galactosidase, β-galactosidase, and β-glucuronidase as well as based on the concentration of short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) in the caecal digesta. Statistical analysis was conducted by generalized linear mixed models, applying the breed and ranging profile as fixed effects and pen as a random factor. The lowest relative abundance of Bifidobacterium spp. was found in the cecal content of indoor-preferring Sasso birds (0.01 ± 0.001), as compared to all other birds in the experiment (ranging from 0.03 ± 0.01 to 0.11 ± 0.07; P = 0.0002). The lowest relative abundance of E. coli was identified for all outdoor-preferring birds and indoor- preferring Sasso birds (0.01 ± 0.001; P = 0.0087). Cecal activity of: α-glucosidase, β-glucuronidase and β-galactosidase was higher in Green-legged Partridges, as compared to Sasso (P = 0.013; P = 0.008; P = 0.004). Valeric acid concentrations were higher in moderate Green-legged Partridges than in Sasso of the same ranging profile (2.03 ± 0.16 vs. 1.5 ± 0.17; 0.016). The majority of the current results confirmed an effect of genotype and ranging profile on the various analyzed parameters. In outdoor-preferring birds, the consumption of pasture originating feed sources as a supplement to the indoor accessible cereal-based diet likely caused the positive effects on the birds' microbial profile. Ostrich meat is a niche product gaining popularity among consumers especially in Europe. Nutrient composition of this meat considering protein, amino acids, fat, cholesterol, fatty acids, minerals and vitamins was henceforth assessed. Ostrich meat is characterized by low intramuscular fat content, a favourable fatty acids profile (PUFA/SFA and n-6/n-3 ratios), a high content of iron and vitamin E and low of Na. The aim of the study was to estimate the influence of the different levels of Cu, Zn, and Mn nanoparticles on the activity of aminopeptidases in turkey. An experiment was carried out on 144 turkey hen Hybrid Converter. The birds were divided into groups given standard- and nanoparticle-supplementation of different level of copper (Cu 20, 10, 2 mg/kg), zinc (Zn 100, 50, 10 ppm), and manganese (Mn 100, 50, 10 ppm), covering respectively 100%, 50%, and 10% of the physiological demands for those minerals in the diet. The activity of aminopeptidases (alanyl: AlaAP, leucyl: LeuAP and arginyl: ArgAP) after supplementation of minerals was determined in the breast and thigh turkey muscle. The strongest effect of interaction among minerals supplementation form and dose on the activity levels of the aminopeptidases in thigh muscle was observed for nano-Cu already at the lowest dose of 2 mg/kg. In this dose (covering 10% of the birds’ demand) nano form of supplementation significantly increased the activity of Ala-, Leu-, and ArgAP (877, 201, and 719, respectively), compared to standard form of supplementation (461, 90.5, and 576, respectively). In turn, in breast muscle, after supplementation covering 10% of the demand with the nano-Cu, nano-Zn, and nano-Mn compared to the standard form, we did not observe any significant difference in the activity levels of any of the investigated aminopeptidases, except for AlaAP under Zn supplementation. Supplementation with the 20 mg/kg of Nano-Cu (100% of demand) and with 10 mg/kg of Nano-Cu (50% of demand) inhibited the activity of all of the three aminopeptidases in thigh muscle. Supplementation of the minerals in nano form into the diet, especially of Cu and Zn in the dose covering 10% of the demand is relevant to maintain homeostasis in turkey muscles, as indicated by the activity of the aminopeptidases.
