Two new species of eriophyid mites in the tribe Anthocoptini from northern Iran were described and illustrated in this paper. Aculus carpitulussp. nov. and Heterotergum sariensissp. nov. were collected from Carpinus betulus L. (Betulaceae) and Quercus castaneifolia C. A. Mey., 1831 (Fagaceae), respectively, in Sari County, Mazandaran Province, North of Iran. No symptoms were observed on the infested host plants. Heterotergum sariensissp. nov. is the first Heterotergum species from plants of the family Fagaceae in the world. This paper includes descriptions and illustrations of two new species namely Leipothrix mazandaranicussp. nov. and Aceria punicaesp. nov. found on Urtica dioica L. (Urticaceae) and Punica granatum L. (Lythraceae), respectively, in Sari county, Mazandaran province, North of Iran. During the study of eriophyoid mite fauna of Sari county in Mazandaran province, north of Iran, two new species were identified, described and illustrated: Eriophyes parrotiae sp. nov. from Parrotia persica C.A.Mey, (Hamamelidaceae) and Tetra hyrcanica sp. nov. from Pterocarya fraxinifolia (Poir.) Spach (Juglandaceae). A list of eriophyoid mite species collected on Hamamelidaceae plants worldwide and Tetra species recorded from Iran, their type host, type locality and habitus are provided. Oribatid mites are one of the dominant soil microarthropods. These mites have an important role in increasing soil fertility through organic materials decomposition. Oribatid mite communities (Acari: Oribatida) were investigated in orchards of five regions (Ahar, Kaleibar, Varzaghan, Heris and Horand) in East Azerbaijan province, Iran. The oribatid mites were studied in each orchard (apple orchards with size of approximately 0.4 ha were selected) by collecting 12 samples taken from a maximum depth of 20 cm. Sampling was performed for six months in 2015. The oribatid species diversity (Shannon-Wiener index), Species richness (Rarefaction and Jackknife methods), Evenness by Shannon's index and similarity (Sorensen index) were calculated with Ecological Methodology 6.0 software for all the regions. A total of 75 species belonging to 57 genera and 38 families of oribatid mites were collected and identified. The highest number of species (54 spp.) was found in the orchards of Kaleibar, while the studied orchards of Varzaghan had the lowest number of species (21 spp.). One-way ANOVA analysis showed that the Shannon- Wiener species diversity was highest in Kaleibar (H = 3.409) and Ahar (H = 3.419). Also, Kaleibar and Ahar had the highest species richness (Kaleibar: 79.8 species, Ahar: 70.7 species). Among studied regions, Kaleibar and Ahar had the highest species richness and species diversity but Varzaghan showed the lowest values, apparently because of geographical and climate differences between these regions. The two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, is one of the most economically important pests on a wide range of crops around the world. Consumption rate and functional responses of all larval stages, male and female of Stethorus gilvifrons (Mulsant) and Orius albidipennis (Rueter) to the varying densities of eggs, protonymphs and females of T. urticae were evaluated under laboratory conditions (27 ± 1 °C, 65 ± 5% RH and 16L/8D h photoperiod). Functional response type was determined by a logistic regression model. The Rogers model was used to estimate attack rate (a) and handling time (Th). The results indicated that the functional responses of different stages of two predators were type III on T. urticae eggs and type II on T. urticae protonymphs and females. The shortest handling time (Th) of both predators were observed on eggs followed by protonymphs and females of T. urticae. The highest and the lowest attack rate (a) were observed by the male and first instar larva in S. gilvifrons and female and first instar nymph in O. albidipennis respectively. The maximum daily attack rates (T/Th) were 153.5, 114.4 and 76.07 for S. gilvifrons, and 134.1, 91 and 55.3 for O. albidipennis by feeding on egg, protonymph and female T. urticae respectively. The handling time (Th) of S. gilvifrons adults were shorter than that of O. albidipennis. The results suggested that both predators exhibited suitable efficacy on all stages of T. urticae, however S. gilvifrons acted more effectively than the other predator in laboratory conditions considering higher consumption rate, shorter handling time and higher attack rate. Three new Aculops species (Eriophyidae: Phyllocoptinae) including Aculops menthafoliae n. sp., Aculopsconsoregalis n. sp. and Aculops coluteae n. sp. were identified from Mentha longifolia (L.) L. Three new eriophyid species (Phyllocoptinae), Shevtchenkella denticulata sp. n., Notallus pestehae sp. n. and Echinacrus ruthenicus sp. n., were described from Eryngium thyrsoideum Boiss. (Apiaceae), Pistacia vera L. (Anacardiaceae) and Lycium ruthenicum Murray (Solanaceae), respectively. All the three new species were collected from southwest of the East Azerbaijan province, Iran in 2011.
