Based on the overlapping tunnel of Tel Aviv Red Line Light Rail Project in Israel, this study established a three-dimensional numerical model by using Rhino6 and FLAC3D software on the basis of analysis of on-site monitoring data, to investigate the ground settlement and stratum displacement laws of shield overlapping tunnel at different overlapping angles.Results show that when the two tunnels gradually transit from horizontal to overlapping state, with the increase of overlapping angle of the two tunnels, the accumulated settlement at the measuring points in the middle of the two tunnels increases, but the accumulated settlement is not only affected by overlapping angle, but also closely related to the stratum traversing situation.Under the stratum condition of the project, when the overlapping angle is 60°, the accumulated surface settlement reaches the maximum because both tunnels pass through the loose reservoir K1 stratum.When the overlapping angle of the rear-built tunnel is less than 45° after excavation, the width of the settlement trough increases.When the overlapping angle is larger than 45° and smaller than 60°, the width of the settlement trough remains unchanged.The width of settlement trough decreases when the overlapping angle is larger than 60°.When the overlapping angle reaches 90°, the settlement trough is symmetrical on both sides.After excavation of tunnels on both sides, when the overlapping angle of the tunnels reaches 75°, the strata on both sides change the direction of movement.This research offer reference for the design and construction of overlapping tunnels.

With the development of informatization and digitalization, the transformation of intelligent manufacturing has become the focus. This paper builds an evaluation system based on the scientific evaluation method of the development level of smart manufacturing and the real demand situation. It establishes an evaluation model of intelligent manufacturing MES systems by combining the GA-BP algorithm. Then, a SeqGAN generative adversarial network is used to expand the real samples. The evaluation model was trained and validated by constructing a training model through the BP neural network, taking the sample data of evaluation indexes as the network input and the seven labels from Industry 1.0 to Industry 4.0 as the network output. The results show that the classification accuracy of the model is above 98%, and all of them have achieved good results. In the actual case evaluation, it is judged that the intelligent manufacturing MES system of Company Z is in the range of industry 3.0 to 3.5, and this result is very close to the manual evaluation of the factory field survey. The synthesis shows that the model is reasonable and effective and has important guiding significance for the evaluation of enterprise intelligent manufacturing MES systems.

TBM hob wear is an important factor that affects the TBM tunneling efficiency and construction cost.Different blade types differ in rock breaking efficiency and wear.By analyzing the rock-breaking mechanism of the arc blade wedged hob, this study established the calculation model of hob normal cutting, and analyzed the influence of hob edge angle on normal cutting force.This study then designed three kinds of hobs with different cutter spacing and three types of hobs with different blade for rock breaking tests in laboratory.Results show that the reasonable cutter spacing is 15mm, sharp blade is prone to be worn, the tooth-like blade, which has higher rock breaking efficiency and wear resistance, is better than arc blade.Combined with the actual situation of the project site, a new hob with wedge-shaped blade is developed, which are applied to inclined shaft TBM tunneling at engineering site.Results show that the wear rate of the new wedge-shaped hob is 20 % less than that of the conventional ones, and the service life of former is longer than that of latter.Under the same geological conditions, new wedge-shaped hob can reduce the number of hobs consumption and improve efficiency of tunnelling.The development and application of the new type successfully solved the problems of hob wear and frequent replacement of hobs in the TBM inclined shaft excavation.It can provide technical support for TBM long distance inclined shaft driving, which not only shortened the construction period, but also saved the construction cost.

The floating of the shield segment will cause the segment to be misaligned and damaged, reducing the overall structural strength, waterproof performance and service life of the tunnel. On the basis of establishing the force model of the segments, by analyzing the force state of the segments, a theoretical calculation model of the segments floating is established. Taking the shield tunneling section ventilation shaft No.3-Caoqiao Station of Beijing Metro's New Airport Line as the engineering background, the abnormal rise of the segment was analyzed. By improving the performance of the synchronous grouting slurry, the floating amount of the tube segment was effectively controlled. And the slurry characteristics before and after the improvement were tested. Finally, based on the results of the slurry test and the theoretical calculation model, the floating volume of the tube segment was calculated. The results show that the theoretical calculation result of segment floating volume is consistent with the actual measured value. The theoretical calculation model in this paper has good accuracy. The segments float up a lot in a short time after it is released from the shield tail. Shortening the setting time of the slurry and improving its early strength are effective measures to control the floatation of the segments.

The aging of rubber will cause changes in the mechanical properties of materials, which in turn will cause waterproof failure.The section from the starting point of Beijing Metro Line 6 to Jin'anqiao is the first fabricated surface excavated tunnel in our country.It is of great significance to study the aging performance of the gaskets at the joints.The tunnel uses segments as the secondary lining structure, and EPDM gaskets as the waterproof material at the segment joints.In order to check whether the waterproof of the joints meets the durability requirements, an accelerated aging test was carried out on the rubber material of the gasket according to time-temperature equivalence principle, which predicts the service life of the rubber material.Due to the cumbersome calculation process of life prediction, the corresponding program was compiled to solve the problem of repeated trial calculation of parameters in the data processing.In addition, a numerical simulation of the stress of segment gaskets was carried out, and the influence of aging on the waterproof of the gasket was analyzed.It was pointed out that the designed water pressure of the gasket was increased to at least 1.75 times of the original one.

Based on the modified Loganathan theory, the longitudinal displacement of an existing tunnel caused by the ground loss in the process of shield crossing was studied. Timoshenko beam theory considering shear deformation was used to analyze the change of tunnel internal force and the amount of the dislocation between the adjacent rings. Based on the shear effect in elastic mechanics theory, the differential equation of tunnel longitudinal deformation was established and solved. After the bending deformation of Timoshenko beam, the difference between the beam cross-section of euler-Bernoulli beam which was not perpendicular to the neutral axis was analyzed. Furthermore, the variation of tunnel bending moment, shear force, and displacement between tunnel segments on tunnel shear stiffness and the ground loss ratio was studied. The results showed that the theoretical solution considering the shear deformation of the tunnel could predict the longitudinal deformation of the tunnel accurately. The proposed theory can correct the excessive internal forces such as bending moment and shear force without considering shear deformation and make up for the defect of unable to calculate the dislocation between the adjacent ring misalignment without considering shear deformation. The research results provide an effective method for predicting the influence of shield on existing tunnels.

Geotextile offers numerous benefits in improving pavement performance, including drainage, barrier functionality, filtration, and reinforcement. Wicking geotextile, a novel variant in this category, possesses the intrinsic ability to drain water autonomously from soils. This paper details the development and application of a comprehensive multiphysics model that simulates the performance of wicking geotextile within a pavement system under freezing climates. The model considers the inputs of various environmental dynamics, including the impact of meteorological factors, groundwater levels, ground heat, and drainage on the pavement system. The model was firstly validated using field data from a long-term pavement performance (LTPP) road section in the cold region. It was subsequently applied to assess the impacts of wicking geotextile if it was installed on the road section. The model simulated the coupled temporal and spatial variations in soil moisture content and temperature. The simulation results demonstrated that wicking geotextile would create a suction zone around its installation location to draw water from surrounding soils, therefore reducing the overall unfrozen water content in the pavement. The results also showed that the installation of wicking geotextile would delay the initiation of frost heave and reduce its magnitude in cold region pavement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A 50-day feeding experiment was performed to investigate the effects of dietary phospholipid (PL) addition on the survival, growth, serum, and hepatopancreas lipid indexes, calcium content, and neverland (Nvd) gene expression in button-sized juvenile Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis). Five experimental diets were formulated with increasing addition of PL (0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, and 4%), which were named PL0, PL1, PL2, PL3, and PL4, respectively. Each diet was randomly assigned to four tanks of juvenile E. sinensis (initial weight: 5.00 ± 0.55 g), with eight crabs held in each tank. The results showed that PL addition significantly increased the survival rate (SR) but just slightly increased the weight gain rate (WGR) of juvenile E. sinensis. As the PL addition level increased, SR and WGR first increased and then decreased, with the highest values observed in the PL3 group. As the PL addition level increased, the activities of trypsin and cellulase significantly increased and then decreased, with the highest value observed in the PL2 group and PL3 group, respectively. As PL addition level increased from 1% to 2%, lipase activity increased sharply and then kept constant with a further increase of dietary PL. As PL addition level increased from 0% to 3%, the calcium content in the serum significantly increased from 7.96 to 12.43 mmol/L and then significantly decreased to 11.36 mmol/L with a further increase of PL addition. PL addition just slightly promoted the calcium content in the hepatopancreas compared with the control group. As PL addition level increased from 0% to 3%, the expression of Nvd in the hepatopancreas significantly increased by 1.47-fold and then decreased to basal level with a further increase of PL addition. In conclusion, 2%−3% addition of the optimal PL addition level was estimated to be 2%−3% for juvenile E. sinensis based on their survival, growth performance, and digestive enzyme activities. The earth pressure balance (EPB) shield tunneling efficiency is greatly affected by the choice of soil transport mode. In this study, the influence of two soil transport modes, such as the continuous belt conveyor and rail train, on the efficiency of shield excavation was analyzed using the Markov chain model. A method was proposed to define the ideal and non-ideal excavation states and quantitatively evaluate the excavation efficiency of the two soil transportation modes of the EPB shield. Based on this model framework, a profitable Markov chain model was established to predict the expected profits of the two soil transportation modes. The Beijing Metro New Airport Line first-phase project was used as a case study to verify the model established. The results show that under the same conditions, the continuous belt conveyor soil transport mode can have a higher excavation efficiency and expected profit. The Forkhead Box O (FOXO) gene plays a key role in various biological processes, such as growth, metabolism, development, immunity and longevity. Molting is an essential process for crustacean growth, which is mainly regulated by 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) and molt-inhibiting hormone (MIH). Although the role of FOXO in regulating the immune response of crustaceans is well documented, its involvement in controlling crustacean molting remains unclear. In this study, a FOXO-like gene (designed as EsFOXO-like) was identified in Eriocheir sinensis, and the regulation of the 20E pathway by EsFOXO-like was also investigated. The coding sequence of EsFOXO-like was 852 bp, which consisted of 283 amino acids including a conserved Forkhead (FH) domain. EsFOXO-like shared high similarity with FOXO genes from other crustaceans, and the mRNA expression levels of the EsFOXO-like gene were highest in the hepatopancreas and lowest in the hemocytes. However, transcription and protein expression of the EsFOXO-like gene were found to be up-regulated only during the pre-molt stage in the hepatopancreas, with lower expression levels observed at the post-molt stage. To explore the role of EsFOXO-like in the 20E pathway, EsFOXO-like was firstly inhibited by a specific FOXO inhibitor (AS1842856) and then through an EsFOXO-like dsRNA injection, respectively, and the results showed that the relative expression levels of EsFOXO-like were notably decreased in the hepatopancreas after both the inhibitor and dsRNA treatments. The 20E concentration, the mRNA expression levels of the 20E receptors including the ecdysone receptor (EcR) and the retinoid-X receptor (RXR) and EsmTOR transcription in the AS1842856 group or the EsFOXO-RNAi group were all significantly higher than that in the control group, while the mRNA expression level of EsMIH was significantly decreased after EsFOXO-like inhibition. To further investigate whether the EsFOXO-like acts through mTOR or not, Rapamycin was administered to inhibit mTOR activity in EsFOXO-like inhibited crabs. The results revealed a significant reduction in the concentration of 20E and the expression level of EsMIH in the AS1842856 + Rapamycin group compared to the AS1842856 + DMSO group, accompanied by an increase in EsEcR and EsRXR expression. These findings collectively suggest that EsFOXO-like regulates the 20E pathway through mTOR, which offered valuable insights into the understanding of the molting process in crustaceans. This study compares nickel-aluminum (Ni-Al) and 3Cr13 steel coatings deposited on carbon steel substrates by arc spraying. The objective is to select a coating that will improve the corrosion and abrasion wear resistance of boiler heat exchanger pipes. This comparison involves the study of the microstructure, phase composition, microhardness, wear and erosion, and corrosion resistance of the coatings. The corrosion resistance was evaluated based on seawater immersion, electrochemical impedance, polarization, and galvanic corrosion tests. The results showed that the Ni-Al coating had a porosity of 6.3%, while the 3Cr13 coating had a porosity of 5.2%. The average surface roughness of the 3Cr13, Ni-Al coatings, and polished substrate were 11, 14.4, and 0.13 μm, respectively. The 3Cr13 lamellar structure coating was mainly composed of the α-Fe phase and a small amount of the CrO phase, and the Ni-16wt%Al coating included a solid solution phase and a small amount of the NiO phase. During the wear tests, the Cr13 steel coating had the highest microhardness and the best abrasion resistance at room temperature at the initial stage of friction. However, its abrasion resistance was lower than that of the Ni-Al coating after a 10-min friction test. The friction coefficients of the two coatings were almost the same at 300 °C. The corrosion resistance of the Ni-Al coating was better than that of the 3Cr13 steel coating. The current density of galvanic corrosion of the 3Cr13 coating was 108 μA m-2 and that of the Ni-Al coating was 37 μA cm-2, indicating that galvanic corrosion occurred between the substrate and the coating. This comparison showed that the Ni-Al coating could provide better high-temperature abrasion resistance and anti-corrosion performance for boiler heat exchanger piping compared with the 3Cr13 steel coating. This work focuses on the development of a three-dimensional shield tunneling model coupling the finite-difference method (FDM) with the discrete-element method (DEM) and evaluates its tunneling performance in boulders. The tunneling process of cutterhead rotation, cutting the formation, soil entering the chamber, and discharging of the screw conveyor is simulated to explain the characteristics of particle movement in front of the tunnel face. The range of the soil failure zone under different shield discharge ratios is determined by the correlation between the discharge ratio and the tunnel surface stability. The evolution process of the soil arching effect in the boulders along with shield tunneling is investigated to understand the mechanisms of the delay settlement in the boulders. Subsequently, the shield discharge ratio is optimized by investigating its influence on the surface deformation. Finally, the average stress distribution on the shield cutterhead in the tunneling process is analyzed to provide the scheme of the cutterhead structure and arrangement. This work can be referred for evaluating the shield tunneling performance and optimizing the excavation design scheme of shield machines during tunneling construction under similar geological conditions. The coupled finite-difference method (FDM)–discrete-element method (DEM) calculation method proposed in this study was successfully applied for boring tunnel equipment performance analysis in Beijing Metro Line 16. This shield tunnel was excavated in the strata with boulders rich in large size and high strength, and the previous tunneling experience shows that the shield is prone to encountering accidents such as tool damage and cutterhead jamming by large boulders when tunneling in such strata. Based on the present parametric analysis and calculation results, the suitable engineering suggestions have been proposed to enhance the shield equipment specifically, such as strengthening the central and peripheral cutters and the wear resistance of the cutterhead sides. In addition, the cutterhead opening and band-type screw conveyor were also adjusted to allow large size stones to pass through the cutterhead and discharge from the soil chamber as much as possible instead of being broken by the cutters. The adoption of these techniques has made it possible for the earth pressure balance shield (EPBS) machine to continuously excavate 1,300 m in boulders without cutter exchanges. In order to effectively control the ground deformation and ground subsidence during subway construction, three-dimensional numerical simulation of soil deformation during shield tunnel construction is proposed. Based on a subway tunnel project, this essay firstly divides the shield construction process into several stages and analyzes the vertical displacement of soil in each stage. FLAC 3D was used for three-dimensional finite difference numerical simulation. By comparing the numerical simulation results with the field measured data, the soil settlement caused by shield tunnel excavation is studied deeply. The simulation results show that the maximum settlement value of the monitoring data is 0.59 mm, and the maximum settlement value of the numerical simulation is 0.82 mm, with a difference of 0.23 mm. The maximum value of uplift on both sides of the tunnel is 0.41 mm in monitoring data and 0.29 in numerical simulation, with a difference of 0.12 mm. The maximum settlement value of monitoring data is 2.59 mm, and the maximum settlement value of numerical simulation is 3.05 mm, with a difference of 0.46 mm. The maximum value of uplift on both sides of the tunnel is 0.32 mm in monitoring data and 1.89 mm in numerical simulation, with a difference of 1.57 mm. The settlement value of numerical simulation is slightly larger than that of monitoring data. Conclusion. Double-shield TBM is more efficient than shield tunnel construction in hard rock strata. It is widely used in subway tunnel construction, such as in Qingdao and Chongqing in China. However, construction vibration problems caused by double-shield TBM critically affect human comfort in surface buildings. In order to study the vibration influence law of double-shield TBM, the on-site monitoring plan of double-shield TBM is developed, relying on a tunnel section of Qingdao Metro Line 4. Then, the vibration monitoring results are analyzed, and the time domain and frequency domain characteristics of vibration acceleration are obtained. Subsequently, taking vibration peak acceleration as the research object, the transverse and longitudinal vibration laws of double-shield TBM construction are studied. Finally, according to the standard of human comfort in buildings, the vibration influence ranges of double-shield TBM construction are obtained. The research results can provide a reference for the vibration effect of double-shield TBM passing through houses, highways and bridges. Although many calculation methods for tunnel face support pressure have been proposed, they are difficult to use in practical applications. In tunneling, the tunnel support pressure is currently being determined by empirical methods. In this study, five special geological sections were selected based on the shield tunnel project between Wangfujing and Qianmen Stations of Beijing Metro Line 8 to evaluate the different support pressure ratios λ by using the particle flow code (PFC). Both the stress distribution in the ground and the settlement under different support states were analyzed. A simplified limit-equilibrium method was developed in combination with the limit state in the PFC model. The present method was compared with the classical limit-equilibrium calculation methods to predict the active limit support pressure in the tunnel face. The values of the minimum limit support pressure ratio λmin of the tunnel face were suggested. The results showed that such ratio should be set to 0.6–0.7, which implies that the change in the support pressure cannot be less than 0.6 times of the true strata stress before excavation. A 56‐day feeding experiment was performed to investigate the effects of the dietary lipid level on the survival, growth performance, digestive enzyme activities and antioxidant capacity of Eriocheir sinensis reared under three salinities. Six feeds with graded levels of lipids (5%, 7%, 9%, 11%, 13% and 15%) were formulated by including fish oil as the main lipid source. Sixty crab individuals (initial weight: 0.21 ± 0.02 g) were assigned to each aquarium. In total, 18 aquariums were distributed under each salinity condition. Each feed was randomly allocated to three parallel tanks of crabs. The feeding experiment lasted for 56 days. Results showed that the survival rate of E. sinensis fed diets with 7%–15% lipids just showed a decreasing tendency as the salinity increased. The highest weight gain rate (WGR) was found in the treatment with 11%, 9% and 5% lipid at the salinity of 0.5‰, 2‰ and 6‰ respectively. At the salinity of 0.5‰, 2‰ and 6‰, the highest activities of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase) were detected in the treatments with 11%, 13% and 7% lipid respectively. As the salinity increased, the protein and lipid contents showed an increasing trend, while the moisture content showed an opposite trend. At each salinity, arachidonic acid and docosahexaenoic acid increased, while saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids decreased with the increase of dietary lipid level. These results indicated that increasing salinity resulted in decreased antioxidant enzyme activities and increased malondialdehyde content in the juvenile E. sinensis, especially when they were fed diets with relatively higher lipid level. Based on WGR, digestive enzyme activity and antioxidant capacity, the optimal lipid level was estimated to be 8.28–13%, 7.54–13% and 5–8.89% for juvenile E. sinensis reared at the salinity of 0.5‰, 2‰ and 6‰ respectively. Introduction: To evaluate the value of artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted software in the diagnosis of lung nodules using a combination of low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) and high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT). Method: A total of 113 patients with pulmonary nodules were screened using LDCT. For nodules with the largest diameters, an HRCT local-target scanning program (combined scanning scheme) and a conventional-dose CT scanning scheme were also performed. Lung nodules were subjectively assessed for image signs and compared by size and malignancy rate measured by AI-assisted software. The nodules were divided into improved visibility and identical visibility groups based on differences in the number of signs identified through the two schemes. Results: The nodule volume and malignancy probability for subsolid nodules significantly differed between the improved and identical visibility groups. For the combined scanning protocol, we observed significant between-group differences in subsolid nodule malignancy rates. Conclusion: Under the operation and decision of AI, the combined scanning scheme may be beneficial for screening high-risk populations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study evaluated survival, growth performance, digestive enzyme activities, intestinal histology, and antioxidant enzyme activities of the Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), which were fed with five different diets, containing 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% fresh black soldier fly larvae (BSFL), respectively, to replace commercial feed at an equal wet weight. The cultured experiment was lasted for 45 days, and the results showed that survival rate (SR), final body weight (FBW), and weight gain (WG) were negatively related with the replacement rate of fresh BSFL in the diet, where the maximum value was found in the BSFL 25% group, while the minimum value appeared in the BSFL 100% group. When BSFL replacement level was equal to or above 75%, the SR, FBW and WG were significantly decreased. However, hepatosomatic index (HSI) was increased with the increasing BSFL replacement level, which was significantly higher in BSFL 75% and BSFL 100% groups than the other groups. No significant differences on hepatopancreatic amylase and lipase activities of the shrimp were observed among all the groups. However, compared with the control group, protease activity in hepatopancreatic of the shrimp was significantly higher when up to 25% of commercial feed was replaced. The histological structure of the intestine gradually changed pathologically, such as tissue disruption, with increasing proportion of fresh BSFL in the diets. A significant reduction in intestinal fold height was found in the BSFL 100% group, and a decreased thickness of intestinal muscular was also observed in all treatment groups. The serum SOD and GSH-PX activities of shrimp in all treatment groups were significantly higher than that of the control group. In conclusion, replacing commercial feed up to 50% with fresh BSFL could be feasible for L. vannamei farming when growth performances, digestive enzyme activities, intestinal histology, and antioxidant enzymes were being considered.
