9. The development and implementation of a digital platform in a fracture liaison service.

- Abstract
Summary: The fracture liaison service in the study hospital developed and successfully implemented a digital platform to support the identification of patients while concurrently optimizing participation in the National Fracture Liaison Database. This initiative provides additional evidence of the capacity of digital health to support fracture liaison services. Purpose: Resourced fracture liaison services (FLSs) are accepted internationally as the preeminent means of reducing the risk of future fragility fractures. The FLS in the study hospital sought to develop and implement a digital platform to support the identification of patients and concurrently effectively participate in the National Fracture Liaison Service Database (FLS-DB) established to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Method: Through linkage with the already established hospital's eTrauma digital system and Inpatient Management System, a bespoke fracture liaison digital platform was developed and introduced. Platform functionality supports automated patient identification and interoperability with the National Fracture Liaison Service Database enabling the anonymized safe transfer of key performance indicator data. Results: Through automated identification of patients who require fracture liaison services, rates of identification have improved from 10% in 2021 to 87%. Time previously spent manually identifying patients is now available for clinical care. Key performance indicator data are recorded as part of the assessment and treatment process and successfully anonymized and transferred to the national database. Conclusion: This initiative provides additional evidence of the capacity of digital health to support fracture liaison services. In comparable settings nationally and internationally where there are coexisting digital systems to support patient management and a national digital database for FLS key performance indicators, there is potential for the successful introduction of similar FLS digital platforms. Sustainability has become a paramount concern in the manufacturing industry, with a growing emphasis on eco-friendly products to preserve our planet’s life-support systems. However, evaluating the "greenness" of a manufactured product is a complex task due to data availability, varying definitions of "green" products, and diverse environmental impacts. This research addresses this challenge by identifying, classifying, and prioritizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess green manufactured products, specifically within the Indian manufacturing context. A systematic approach was employed, incorporating Pareto analysis and the Full Consistency Method (FUCOM) to identify the most significant KPIs and assign them priority. Industry, academia, and customer perspectives were considered, resulting in distinct priorities. Industry experts prioritize economic aspects, while academia emphasizes health and safety. Customers focus on air quality and greenhouse gas emissions. This diversity of perspectives underscores the need for businesses to tailor their sustainability strategies to meet evolving customer demands while considering economic implications. The study identifies 30 vital KPIs crucial for evaluating green product manufacturing, encompassing dimensions like waste management, energy efficiency, workplace safety, and societal compliance. By considering these KPIs, businesses can make informed decisions to improve sustainability, reduce their environmental footprint, and align with consumer expectations. The findings provide a roadmap for businesses and policymakers to develop more effective strategies, targeting diverse stakeholder groups and promoting the production and use of green products. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge in sustainable manufacturing and serves as a valuable tool for manufacturers in India and beyond, aiding them in navigating the complexities of manufacturing green products and meeting the rising demand from environmentally conscious consumers. 11. Implementation of Indigenous People Education in Sarangani Province.

This study aimed to ascertain the extent of implementation of Indigenous People's Education in Sarangani Province, the key performance indicators, the significant relationship between the implementation and the key performance indicators, and the extent of compliance of the school heads and teachers on the implementation. The researcher utilized descriptive-evaluative research design. The respondents are school leaders and select teachers in the Department of Education, Division of Sarangani. The data were gathered through a survey questionnaire. The results show that all the indicators on the extent of implementation: Pedagogy and Methodology, Indigenous Knowledge System Practices Curriculum Content and Planning, Language and Instruction, Teacher Training, Materials, Assessment and Evaluation got very satisfactory results in terms on implementation, meaning this indicates that the program component is in high level of implementation. In addition, among all the performance indicators, retention rate got the highest percentage, meaning that 100.45% of the school-aged indigenous people learners continue their schooling. It is also supported by the very low dropout rate of the schools at 0.16%. On the other hand, statistics shows that the participation rate, cohort survival rate, completion rate, and dropout rate of the implementing schools has a significant relationship by the extent of implementation of the indigenous people's education program. Based on the results, it is recommended that the DepEd must increase the involvement of community members on the team creating the teaching materials translated into IPs' mother tongues, particularly those who are knowledgeable in that language. Technical key performance indicators (KPIs) are important metrics used to assess and quantitatively summarize various aspects of photovoltaic (PV) systems, including long‐term performance, economic viability, and carbon footprint. Herein, a group of experts of the International Energy Agency's Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme Task 13 collect and describ the most important technical KPIs used in the industry. Thereby, a set of best practices for reliably handling PV system data is presented and the impact of data quality and climatic variability on KPI calculation is investigated. The effective use of technical KPIs allows triggering data‐driven and informed decisions to optimize PV systems and providing a comprehensive overview of how PV systems operate across different conditions and climates. With the worldwide growth of the PV industry, more companies operate/own PV systems in different regions, where the climatic and seasonal profiles differ. This requires context‐aware evaluation of KPIs, or the judicious application of multiple KPIs, to ensure that each asset is evaluated correctly. Beyond that, there is untapped potential in the utilization of KPIs through geospatial mapping and extrapolation of fleet KPIs. 13. The impact of a multidisciplinary team approach on the management of patients diagnosed with complex colorectal polyps.

Aim: Large nonpedunculated colorectal polyps (LNPCPs) have a greater than average risk of malignancy, incomplete resection/recurrence and complications associated with treatment. Appropriate management of these lesions is crucial to prevent cancer and reduce harm. The British Society of Gastroenterologists (BSG) and the Association of Coloproctologists of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) published guidelines for the management of LNPCPs in 2015. The aim of this work was to evaluate the case mix and outcomes from a single centre's multidisciplinary approach to managing such lesions against the key performance indicators (KPIs) set within these national guidelines. Method: Cohort study from a single centre over a 2‐year period, January 2020 to December 2022. Results: After exclusions, a total of 229 cases were discussed. Most complex polyps were treated endoscopically, with conservative management recommended in 22 cases where patients had significant comorbidities and were unlikely to benefit from therapy. The overall surgical intervention rate (including transanal endoscopic microsurgery/per anal excision) was 14%. Of the cases treated endoscopically, there was residual polyp detected in 3.9% at 12‐months' follow‐up. Complications were rare. There was a single case of perforation following endoscopic submucosal dissection and no significant postprocedure bleeds. There were no perforations following endoscopic mucosal resection, although postpolypectomy bleeding requiring admission occurred in 4%. Sixty‐eight per cent of patients were treated within 56 days of multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussion, despite the timeframe being within a period of huge disruption due to the global COVID pandemic. KPI standards published by the BSG were therefore met. Conclusion: MDT management of complex polyps (LNPCPs) is effective and meets the standards set by national guidance. Patient outcomes following treatment for complex polypectomy are improved when the most appropriate procedure is performed by the most appropriate operator. As climate change intensifies, roadway infrastructure is increasingly at risk from extreme weather events including floods, hurricanes, and wildfires. This paper presents a system-of-systems performance-based asset risk management approach, designed to integrate various elements for effective investment prioritization and infrastructure resilience. Central to this approach are an Asset Inventory Database and a Risk Registry Database, supported by a Common Reference Location System (GIS). These components are the foundation for analytical modules to assess vulnerability and resilience based on exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity. The approach includes an actionable framework to support a proactive data-driven performance-based management process for prioritizing investments. The project prioritization process consists of four steps: identifying risk factors, integrating climate data, conducting advanced risk assessments, and project prioritization. The goal is to prioritize resource allocation and develop climate-adaptive risk mitigation management strategies. Key performance indicators (KPIs) are recommended for setting goals, monitoring the outcomes of these strategies, and measuring their benefits. A Climate Impact Vulnerability Score (CIVS) is proposed to assess the susceptibility of infrastructure assets to environmental conditions. The approach also leverages artificial intelligence (AI) tools to analyze roadway infrastructure vulnerabilities and climate risk exposure. A case study applied to bridges using k-means clustering and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) demonstrates the potential of advanced analytical methods in improving decision-making. This research concludes that the approach will contribute to enhancing resource allocation, supporting strategic decisions, aligning goals with budgets prioritizing investments, and strengthening the resilience and sustainability of roadway infrastructure. Relationships among key metrics including event count, sessions, purchase revenue, transactions, and bounce rate, were examined using descriptive statistics, revealing factors affecting user engagement. Machine learning classifiers, such as decision trees (DTs), Naive Bayes (NB), and k-nearest neighbors (k-NN), were assessed for their effectiveness in classifying engagement levels. DTs achieved a classification accuracy of 97.98%, outperforming NB (65.00%) and k-NN (97.90%). Furthermore, techniques like pruning are applied for performance optimization. Primarily, this paper goas is to generate a series of recommendations to help the decision-makers and marketers optimizing the marketing strategies. Employees are the most valuable resources in any company, and their well-being directly influences work productivity. This research investigates integrating health parameters and sentiment analysis expressed in sent messages to enhance employee well-being within organizations in the context of Industry 5.0. Our primary aim is to develop a Well-Being Index (WBI) that quantifies employee health through various physiological and psychological parameters. A new methodology combining data collection from wearable devices from 1 January 2023 to 18 October 2024 and advanced text analytics was employed to achieve the WBI. This study uses the LbfgsMaximumEntropy ML classification algorithm to construct the Well-Being Model (WBM) and Azure Text Analytics for sentiment evaluation to assess negative messages among employees. The findings reveal a correlation between physiological metrics and self-reported well-being, highlighting the utility of the WBI in identifying areas of concern within employee behavior. We propose that the employee global indicator (EGI) is calculated based on the WBI and the dissatisfaction score component (DSC) to measure the overall state of mind of employees. The WBM exhibited a MacroAccuracy of 91.81% and a MicroAccuracy of 95.95% after 384 configurations were analyzed. Azure Text Analytics evaluated 2000 text messages, resulting in a Precision of 99.59% and an Accuracy of 99.7%. In this case, the Recall was 99.89% and F

Background and context: Housing Co-operative societies have been recognized as a democratic entity which formed under the law and regulation. The main duty assigned to the housing co-operatives are to provide houses to the members. Its performance can be measured in terms of financial performance and administrative performance (Non- Financial aspect). The performance statement which includes financial and non --financial issues are practically prepared for co-operative members (internal uses) and for external users such as Tanzania Cooperatives Development Commission (TCDC) and Co-operative Audit and Supervision Corporation (COASCO). The performance statement is a map to understand and measure the financial and administrative health of a housing co-operative. Financial ratio analysis has received the attention in examining detailed coverage of housing co-operative liquidity, resources and operations. Report prepared from financial ratio analysis is intensively recognized whether it is a large or small company. Goal and objectives: This research paper present financial and non-financial indicator that mostly reflect organization performance and can be used to determine the movement of housing cooperatives in providing houses, most importantly to shows which financial ratios that reflect operations and financial position of the housing co-operatives. Given the recent rapidly increase of housing demand in Tanzania, it is a right time to document key performance indicators for evaluating the performance of housing Co-operative towards housing supply in the country. Methodology: The case study strategy was used to this research paper. The study adopts qualitative method approach where by focus group discussion were used as data collection machinery. The focus group discussion was employed to the co-operative Board members including Chairman, deputy chairman and General Secretary. Also key informers of the selected housing co-operative were involved in the discussion. Background and Objectives: To develop key performance indicators (KPI) for use in quality assessment of our institutional goal‐directed massive transfusion (GDMT). Materials and Methods: A team comprising our transfusion and emergency medicine departments carried out a cross‐sectional data analysis of GDMT in adult patients from January 2021 to December 2022. The study was rooted in the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control (DMAIC) approach. Features of KPIs were (a) importance, (b) scientific soundness and (c) feasibility. Study parameters were defined and analysed using measures of central tendencies and benchmark comparison. Results: Ninety‐two massive transfusion events occurred and 1405 blood components were used. Trauma was the leading cause, followed by postpartum haemorrhage and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Appropriate GDMT activation was observed only in 43.47% of events. The turnaround time (TAT) was within the benchmark in 85.8% of events with an average of 16 ± 10 min. The average utilization of blood components was 20.5 (interquartile range [IQR] = 11.3) in the appropriate group and 5.5 (IQR = 4.25) in the inappropriate group with a wastage rate of 3.5%. Duration of activation was 6.19 ± 4.59 h, and the adherence to thromboelastography was 66.3%. Overall mortality was 45.65%, and the average duration of hospital stay was 6.1 ± 5.9 days. Conclusion: The KPIs developed were easy to capture, and the analysis provided a comprehensive approach to the quality improvement of the GDMT protocol. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Existing buildings in the European Union account for 40% of its energy consumption. To significantly reduce this impact, annual deep energy renovation rates should triple by the end of the 2020s. However, the lack of automation in the construction industry has hindered energy renovation efforts. Horizon Europe's INPERSO project (Industrialised and Personalised Renovation for Sustainable Societies) aims to create a user-centered energy rehabilitation method based on industrialized technologies and systems, enhancing efficiency and building performance. To bridge the gap between predictions and real-world outcomes, the 22 project partners—using a multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) process—devised a list of key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluating rehabilitation based on economic, energy, environmental, social, and technological factors. Adopting a human-centric approach, these project partners aim to minimize the technologies' environmental impact while optimizing users' comfort and experience. The indicators are designed to evaluate performance at every stage of the renovation process, enabling continuous feedback and user engagement and ultimately ensuring that projected energy savings are met throughout the building's lifespan. The KPIs selected for INPERSO provide a solid framework for evaluating and monitoring sustainable renovation. This paper aims to analyze the classic approach towards the Workplace ecosystem and make a set of general recommendations, business-agnostic which applied, allow organizations to reach a Digital and Integrated Workplace. An overview is presented on the key components of a reliable IT department, with a focus on the critical infrastructures across all levels: Front-End, Middleware, and Back-End systems. It starts by gathering the most important innovation methods in the IT domain. Then, our research follows on a concrete example of a company that underwent the implementation of these changes and check how effective they have proven to be. The research focuses on the adoption of these measures and how they has been reflected in their employee satisfaction level. Finally, the most interesting Key Performance Indicators from multiple standpoints are advocated: resource allocation (cost, time, manpower), user experience, and the impact of emerging technologies based on AI and service governance. While it is clear that all of these riders' implementation depends mainly on the budget, according to Gartner, 62% of IT services buyers confirmed that their organizations are willing to pay an extra 11% to 20% of the already allocated budget for top premium IT services, tailored to their custom needs with a focus on the user experience.

Global efforts to achieve climate neutrality increasingly rely on innovative urban planning and design strategies. This study focuses on the identification and application of key performance indicators (KPIs) to support policymakers and local authorities in driving sustainable urban transitions. Using a real-life case study of European cities and countries, this research leverages data analytics and machine learning to inform decision-making processes. Specifically, the k-means clustering algorithm was employed to group countries based on socioeconomic and environmental KPIs, while principal component analysis was used to rank the most influential indicators in shaping these clusters. The analysis highlighted GDP per capita, corruption perception, and climate-related expenditure as key drivers of clustering. Additionally, time series analysis of KPI trends demonstrated the impact of policy decisions over time. This study showcases how machine learning and data-driven approaches can provide valuable insights for urban planners, offering a robust framework for evaluating and improving climate-neutrality strategies at both city and country levels. Measuring the performance of dental schools in the research area has always been challenging. Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a performance measurement tool with four perspectives that balance financial and non-financial performance indicators. Some medical colleges use BSC for performance measurement of all departments' activities while others use it in some sections or departments. This study is the first in the dental education field to use the BSC approach to assess the performance measurement of dental students' research projects. A self-developed BSC was designed by the staff members at the dental public health department to reflect the educational strategies and objectives of the department; all data on dental public health students' research from 2013/2014 to 2020/2021 were collected from the dental public health department, Dental Clinics Complex (DCC) files as well as databases of the Quality Assurance Unit to cover the basic four balanced perspectives. Data from the four perspectives were introduced to Balanced Scorecard Pro Software Version 4.7.1.20. The resulting balanced scorecard indicated that the overall performance of students' research activities was 89.38%. The learning and growth perspective showed the highest performance (95.33%) followed by the financial perspective (92.5%) then the internal process perspective (89.55%) while the customer perspective showed the lowest performance (82.19%). BSC is an efficient tool for the measurement of the performance of the departments at medical colleges. Our process is highly adaptable and can be easily implemented by any section, or institution looking to advance its educational mission and vision. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Methods: A qualitative study employing focus group discussions was conducted to collect opinions and perspectives of end-users and tool developers regarding KPIs and benchmarks in MCI response using the NIT-MR. The criteria considered for the selection and distribution of participants within the groups was the nature of their involvement within the NIGHTINGALE project and their familiarity with the tools to be discussed. Results: Thirty-one participants from different countries were included. Four themes emerged during data analysis which are: definition/explanation is the personal understanding of participants of the term KPI, process of KPI development and relationship with User Requirements is the decision process for assigning KPIs to user requirements, benchmarking is the mental process of associating a benchmark to a KPI or for developing a benchmark, and technical/medical gap is the gap of understanding between each sides' fields. Conclusion: This study emphasized the need for a structured approach to using KPIs and bridging the gap between technological and medical worlds, taking the NIGHTINGALE project, funded by the European Union, which aims to develop a technological toolkit for first responders in mass casualty incidents as an example. Purpose: The objective of this study was to offer a comprehensive synthesis of the existing Key performance indicators (KPIs) used in the evaluation of the pre-Hospital response to disasters and mass casualty incidents (MCIs). Methods: At the end of December 2022 a scoping review has been performed on PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Medline to identify articles describing the use of KPIs to assess the performance of first responders during the prehospital phase of an MCI (real or simulated). Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, fourteen articles were included in the analysis. Results: Eleven articles applied indicators in exercises and/or simulations. Two articles proposed new KPIs, and one used KPIs for developing a model for benchmarking pre-Hospital response. All articles analyzed quantitative indicators of time, whereas two studied indicators of structure, of process, and of outcome as well. Conclusion: The findings from this review emphasize the need for employing common terminology and using uniformed data collection tools, if obtaining standardized evaluation method is the goal to be achieved. To comprehend the complexity of rugby union performance, it is crucial to correlate technical and tactical, and kinematic elements specifically for playing roles. Hence, this study investigated the relationship between game-related metrics and running activities in sub-elite senior males. Technical and tactical performance and running activity of 36 sub-elite senior players (age mean = 25 years; total performances = 200) were assessed in relation to 17 key performance indicators (KPIs). A series of general linear mixed models were performed to evaluate the relationship between KPIs according to roles (backs, forwards and scrum halves), including subjects and games as random effect. The main finding was that the tactical context relates distinctly running activities, and this effect varies between backs and forwards. Tackling mainly involves impacts and deceleration, whereas carrying the ball is associated with impacts and accelerations. Furthermore, the percentage of missed tackles is related to higher occurrences of acceleration events. These findings offer a more profound understanding of the physiological requirements in sub-elite rugby performance, especially given the limited evidence on the interaction between technical and tactical performance and running activities in sub-elite rugby union games. Background: Pickleball is an exponentially growing sport with a lack of notation-based studies. Consequently, this research aimed to conduct a match analysis in men's singles to enhance the understanding of the game and optimize training practices. Methods: Using observational methodology, a total of 1145 points were analyzed from the semifinal and final rounds of five Professional Pickleball Association Tour tournaments. Data were recorded with LINCE PLUS V.2.1.0 software using the OI-PICKLEBALL-S23 observational instrument. Descriptive statistical analyses were conducted with IBM-SPSS version 25.0, and gameplay patterns were detected using Theme 6.0 Edu. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Results: The data indicated that service faults at the start of the game were minimal (2.4%). The server won fewer points than the returner in the overall set of analyzed points (46.6%). Most points were concluded in short rallies (1–4 shots; 43%) or medium-length rallies (5–8 shots; 44%), with the final shot predominantly occurring from striking zone 2, the area closest to the non-volley line (50.7%). Ground strokes (55.1%) and volleys (38.4%) were the most common final shots. Conclusions: The insights gained from this study can benefit high-performance players and coaches and provide a foundation for future notation-based research in pickleball. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Balancing economy, social justice, and environmental protection while achieving decarbonisation and adapting to climate change poses a significant challenge for nations, regions, and cities. The Sustainable Development Goals and the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans are widely used plans designed to oversee mitigation and adaptation actions. However, despite the common topics addressed by both, the absence of a common framework and the multiplicity of indicators proposed imply an extra effort in their implementation and evaluation, as well as the difficulty of evaluating peer benchmarking. Hence, this review focuses on identifying frequently proposed indicators, highlighting potential links among metrics and establishing a list of potential indicators. The bibliographic analysis conducted allowed the identification of more than 80 sources and 410 different metrics. The study reveals the diversity of approaches chosen to define a set of indicators and underscores the need for a harmonised framework to effectively compare and monitor European regions and cities. Moreover, thanks to this study, a list of potential indicators and the methodology for populating them was established, allowing better coherence among the initiatives and a starting point for small regional and local administrations that often struggle with the availability of data and resources. In recent years, the interest in electric direct current (DC) technologies (such as converters, batteries, and electric vehicles) has increased due to their potential in energy efficiency and sustainability. However, the vast majority of electric systems and networks are based on alternating current (AC) as they also have certain advantages regarding cost-effective transport and robustness. In this paper, an AC/DC optimal power flow method for hybrid microgrids and several key performance indicators (KPIs) for its techno-economic assessment are presented. The combination of both calculations allows users to determine the viability of their hybrid microgrids. AC/DC networks have been modeled considering their most common elements. For the power flow method, polynomial optimization is formulated considering four different objective functions: the minimization of energy losses, voltage deviation, and operational costs and the maximization of the microgrid generation. The power flow method and the techno-economic analysis are implemented in Python and validated in the Centro de Desarrollo de Energias Renovables (CEDER) demonstrator for TIGON. The results show that the calculated power flow variables and those measured at CEDER are practically the same. In addition, the KPIs are obtained and compared for four operating scenarios: baseline, no battery, battery flexibility, and virtual battery (VB) flexibility. (Background) Over the years, there has been increasing interest in adopting a quality approach in radiology, leading to the strategic pursuit of specific and key performance indicators (KPIs). These indicators in radiology can have significant impacts ranging from radiation protection to integration into digital healthcare. (Purpose) This study aimed to conduct a narrative review on the integration of key performance indicators (KPIs) in radiology with specific key questions. (Methods) This review utilized a standardized checklist for narrative reviews, including the ANDJ Narrative Checklist, to ensure thoroughness and consistency. Searches were performed on PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar using a combination of keywords related to radiology and KPIs, with Boolean logic to refine results. From an initial yield of 211 studies, 127 were excluded due to a lack of focus on KPIs. The remaining 84 studies were assessed for clarity, design, and methodology, with 26 ultimately selected for detailed review. The evaluation process involved multiple assessors to minimize bias and ensure a rigorous analysis. (Results and Discussion) This overview highlights the following: KPIs are crucial for advancing radiology by supporting the evolution of imaging technologies (e.g., CT, MRI) and integrating emerging technologies like AI and AR/VR. They ensure high standards in diagnostic accuracy, image quality, and operational efficiency, enhancing diagnostic capabilities and streamlining workflows. KPIs are vital for radiological safety, measuring adherence to protocols that minimize radiation exposure and protect patients. The effective integration of KPIs into healthcare systems requires systematic development, validation, and standardization, supported by national and international initiatives. Addressing challenges like CAD-CAM technology and home-based radiology is essential. Developing specialized KPIs for new technologies will be key to continuous improvement in patient care and radiological practices. Despite COVID-19, the world economy still contributes to the growth of production and consumption worldwide. Waste disposal, recycling management and energy generation are challenges for many companies in developing economies, including Poland. This article aims to assess the operation of a municipal waste treatment plant (MWTP) from the perspective of green business process management (BMP) solutions. The processes implemented in the MWTP were discussed, with specific consideration of the mechanical waste processing (sorting) process, including the reuse and recycling of materials, composting, energy production (anaerobic process), landfill storage and efficiency parameters of the sorting line. A sustainable waste management system was identified; the cost as well as social and environmental perspectives were analyzed. Also, strategic goals and key performance indicators were considered. The performed analysis included costs, environmental criteria and key environmental indicators. This paper has shown the successful implementation of green BPM, with potential cost and material savings results. The findings of this case study are expected to inspire other waste management companies to adopt green BPM. Timeliness, budget consciousness, and quality are critical to the success of a project, and become increasingly challenging with increased project complexity. Five-dimensional building information modeling (BIM) integrates cost and schedule data with a 3D model, and enhances project management by addressing budgeting, timelines, and visualization simultaneously. However, a comprehensive assessment of 5D BIM's impact on key performance indicators is currently lacking. This research aims to identify the critical factors influencing the adoption of 5D BIM and its impact on key project performance indicators. A thorough systematic literature review and qualitative analysis were conducted to achieve this goal. Relevant articles from the past decade (2014–2023) were examined from the Scopus and Web of Science databases, of which 222 were selected and screened using PRISMA procedures. This research found consistent and rapid updating of keywords, highlighting the dynamic evolution of 5D BIM and its expanding applications in the construction industry. Thirty critical factors affecting the adoption of 5D BIM were identified and categorized into the following six groups based on the technology–organization–environment (TOE) framework: technology, organization, environment, operator, project, and government policy. The 15 factors driving construction project performance in integrated 5D BIM were divided into cost, time, and quality performance based on key performance indicators. (1) Background: the penalty kick is an action in football that decides many matches. The aim of this research was to establish the success rate of penalty kicks in Spain between the seasons 2012/2013 and 2019/2020 considering different key performance variables. (2) Methods: A total of 941 penalty kicks were analysed from eight seasons of the first division of the Spanish men's football league (La Liga). An observational methodology was used and, in order to obtain the results, different analytical techniques were employed: descriptive and chi square with a significance level of p < 0.05. (3) Results: The effectiveness of penalty kicks was 76.7%. Most of the penalties were taken by the home team (60.9%), with a tie on the scoreboard (44.2%) and within the last 30 min of the match (41.9%). The highest success rate was observed for balls kicked to the upper side of the goal (100%), even though the highest number of penalties were taken low, to one of the two sides of the goal (57.0%). Up to 5.6% of the penalties were not kicked inside the goal. (4) Conclusions: Effectiveness does not depend on home–visitor status, player laterality, score or remaining match time, studied independently. Long-time follow-up of sigmoidoscopy screening trials has shown reduced incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer (CRC), but inadequate bowel cleansing may hamper efficacy. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of bowel cleansing quality in sigmoidoscopy screening. Individuals 50 to 74 years old who had a screening sigmoidoscopy in a population-based Norwegian, randomized trial between 2012 and 2019, were included in this cross-sectional study. The bowel cleansing quality was categorised as excellent, good, partly poor, or poor. The effect of bowel cleansing quality on adenoma detection rate (ADR) and referral to colonoscopy was evaluated by fitting multivariable logistic regression models. 35,710 individuals were included. The bowel cleansing at sigmoidoscopy was excellent in 20,934 (58.6%) individuals, good in 6580 (18.4%), partly poor in 7097 (19.9%) and poor in 1099 (3.1%). The corresponding ADRs were 17.0%, 16.6%, 14.5%, and 13.0%. Compared to participants with excellent bowel cleansing, those with poor bowel cleansing had an odds ratio for adenoma detection of 0.66 (95% confidence interval 0.55–0.79). We found substantial differences in the assessment of bowel cleansing quality among endoscopists. Inadequate bowel cleansing reduces the efficacy of sigmoidoscopy screening, by lowering ADR. Background: Provision of a Medication Action Plan (MAP) on admission and a Discharge Medication Record (DMR) are associated with reduced medication‐related harm. Aim: To report factors associated with the provision of MAPs and DMRs in rural and regional hospitals in Queensland, Australia. Method: A literature search, environmental scan and department consultations were conducted to develop Clinical Pharmacy Key Performance Indicators (cpKPIs) and design a cpKPI dashboard. Two of the five KPIs included in the dashboard, relating to medication action plans on admission and medication records on discharge, were reported for all the hospitals and were included in the study. A retrospective, period‐prevalence study was conducted to evaluate the coverage and equity of clinical pharmacy service provision for patients admitted for longer than 24 h. The proportions of patients who received MAPs and DMRs were stratified by age, gender, Indigeneity and hospital type. Statistical analysis used chi‐squared tests and logistic regression in R. This project was exempt due to the local policy requirements that constitute research by the Far North Queensland Human Research Ethics Committee (Reference no: EX/2023/QCH/94383‐1684QA). The justification for this exemption is as follows: the project was determined to be negligible risk research and involved the use of existing collection of data or records that contain only non‐identifiable data about human beings. Results: In total, 13 818 patients (37.9% of admissions) received a MAP and 11 631 patients (32.7% of discharges) received a DMR. The proportion of MAPs and DMRs was significantly higher in rural hospitals than in regional hospitals (MAP 50.6% vs 34.6%, DMR 33.1% vs 31.3%) and for male patients than female patients (MAP 42.2% vs 33.7%, DMR 36.4% vs 29.2%). When stratified by age, First Nations patients received a higher proportion of MAPs and DMRs in each age group, except for age 85 years and over. The proportion of First Nations patients aged 50 years and over who received MAP was lower compared to that for non‐Indigenous patients aged 65 years and over (56.3% vs 59.8%), whilst the proportion for DMRs was similar (50.4% vs 49.3%). Conclusion: The study defined the clinical pharmacy key performance indicators for measuring equity of clinical pharmacy service provision in Australia. When adjusted for a difference in life expectancy, the proportion of MAPs for First Nations patients was lower compared to the proportion of MAPs for non‐Indigenous patients. Purpose: Efficiency standards, similar to industrial measures like overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), are being used in healthcare systems more and more. Performance indicator models applied to machines assume a constant completion time. However, for human resources, the completion time of a task may vary depending on the stress experienced. This study seeks to bridge this gap by integrating the human behavior of the physician into the performance evaluation. Design/methodology/approach: The paper presents a new algorithm called PerfoBalance that is intended to distribute waiting-patient values among doctors. By maximizing each physician's stress zones, this method helps to improve their performance as a whole. A thorough case study with medical professionals is carried out to confirm the effectiveness of the suggested methodology. The PerfoBalance algorithm is used in a variety of contexts to divide waiting-patient values among doctors and optimize stress zones. Findings: Experimental results demonstrate a significant improvement in physician efficiency when implementing the PerfoBalance algorithm. The algorithm strategically selects stress zones that contribute to higher performance rates for physicians by optimizing waiting-patient values. Originality/value: By addressing the undervaluation of human performance difficulties in current efficiency models used in the healthcare industry, this research constitutes a significant contribution to the field. With its launch, the PerfoBalance algorithm offers a fresh viewpoint on waiting-patient value allocation and stress zone management in healthcare settings, hence representing a powerful method for increasing physician productivity. As a variation of small-sided games (SSGs), Thomas Tuchel's hexagonal shaped possession drills attracted a lot of attention in coaches' soccer education. Changing certain variables (e.g. pitch size) is one traditional approach to provide an optimal stimulus for a specific training goal. Therefore, the presented field study investigated whether hexagonal shaped drills show changes in tactical key performance indicators (KPIs) using positional data in a controlled experimental setting. Data were collected using player tracking systems (1 Hz) in 5 versus 5 SSGs in both the full-size pitch and pitch with cut-off corners condition. At match-related level, trial duration and outcome were examined. At player-related level, the tactical KPIs effective playing space (EPS), length-per-width ratio, space control and overplayed defenders were analyzed. The results show significant differences in length-per-width ratio (attacking team), the EPS and space control (30m-zone). However, it could not be confirmed that hexagonal shaped drills are played more vertically and faster toward the goal than on a normal pitch, as there were no changes in trial duration, outcome or overplayed defenders. Nevertheless, an experimental positional data analysis paradigm is a useful approach to investigate tactical principles in high-level professional soccer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Large quantities of battery systems will be discarded from electric vehicles in the future. Non-destructive separation of used electric vehicle (EV) traction batteries enables a second life of battery components, extraction of high value secondary materials, and reduces the environmental footprint of recycling and separation processes. In this study, the key performance indicators (KPIs) for the second life application of spent EV batteries are identified. Three battery packs are analyzed in terms of the joining techniques used—and possible separation techniques—considering only direct recycling methods. The components that can be recovered from these batteries are evaluated against the KPIs. This study shows that all the batteries analyzed allow a second life in stationary and semi-stationary electrical storage systems and marine applications when used at the pack and module levels. Two packs can be reused in electric vehicles such as forklifts. However, the feasibility of re-use in micro-mobility and consumer electronics is very limited. This study shows that technically feasible separation methods are dictated and constrained by the joining techniques used. As welding and adhesive bonding pose challenges to separation processes, future efforts should prioritize 'design for disassembly' to ensure sustainable battery life cycle management. Our study investigates the relevance and application of key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) in business management from 1992 to 2023 through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis performed in RStudio using the Bibliometrix platform and in VOSviewer. Utilizing data from the Web of Science database, we identify trends, key themes, and influential research in this domain, observing an annual growth rate of 17.76%. Our analyses include the top 10 most globally cited documents, word clouds based on authors' keywords and Keywords Plus, clustering by coupling, co-occurrence networks, and factorial analysis. Our findings reveal a significant increase in research interest post-2004, with sustainability and corporate social responsibility emerging as central themes. We confirm positive correlations between KPIs, improved organizational performance, and effective risk management via KRIs. The railway system is a complex technical system-of-systems (SoS). To address the complexity of the railway system, a holistic approach is needed that facilitates the development of an appropriate asset management regime. A systems-of-systems (SoS) approach considers the complex nature of the railway system, comprising interconnected subsystems like rolling stock and infrastructure. Neglecting these interdependencies risks sub-optimization of the overall system performance. Asset management of the railway system utilising a SoS approach ensures the focus of asset management on overall system requirements. The efficiency and effectiveness of the railway system is based on aspects such as availability, reliability, and safety performance. To enhance these aspects, monitoring, and improvement of key performance indicators (KPIs) emphasizing increased capacity and reduced operational costs is essential. The KPIs offer quantifiable parameters for performance optimization. Augmenting asset management through data-driven technologies can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of asset management. However, challenges persist in the implementation of data-driven solutions due to the railway system's complexity and lack of a holistic perspective. A systematic performance-driven framework with a system-of-systems approach for augmented asset management of railway system provides handrail for the utilisation of data-driven technologies with railway system requirements at the centre while developing an asset management regime. The proposed framework aims to establish a clear relationship between system KPIs, and the performance of sub-systems and components aiding railway organizations in asset management design and implementation. This paper explains the important components of the proposed framework and demonstrates the application the framework for asset management and maintenance planning of high value components in the fleet of railway rolling stock. Adoption of the proposed framework is expected to enhance asset management through development and implementation of data-driven solutions that are aligned with system KPIs, to support asset management decision making. (1) Background: The analysis of women's tennis performance has not been extensively explored by the scientific community, necessitating further research to understand the tactical actions occurring in matches. This research aimed to examine the chance of winning a point in professional women's tennis based on the key variables that influence performance in the sport. (2) Methods: Data from 3239 points were examined across three distinct court surfaces, sourced from the final rounds (starting with the quarterfinals) of three Grand Slam tournaments in the 2021 season. An observational methodology was employed, using various analysis techniques: descriptive and chi-square analyses, with a significance level of p < 0.05. (3) Results: The probability of winning a point on the first serve was 61% on clay, 70% on grass, and 69% on hard courts. For second serves, the probability of winning the point varied between 55% and 57%, depending on the court surface. Additionally, the majority of points, ranging from 70% to 71%, concluded with short rallies, involving one to four shots. On clay courts, the server won up to 65% of points with a first serve and a short rally, while the success rate increased to 75% on both grass and hard courts. For medium-length rallies (5–8 shots), the probability of winning the point dropped to 55–57%. The point outcome (winner, forced error, and unforced error) varied according to court surface, serve type, and rally length. - Abstract
Forecasting the development of regions is one of the most challenging tasks of modern economics. The quality of any forecast is determined by the methodology used. Accordingly, criticism of existing forecasts is largely connected to their methodological approaches. In this paper, a multi-level approach to forecasting the development of the region is proposed, starting with the definition of the key performance indicators and ending with the assessment of various scenarios. The study was conducted on the example of the Russian Arctic, divided into three technological zones, with three scenarios of the development for each (negative, base, positive). The application of the proposed methodology allowed for modeling the development of the region until 2035. The results show that the Russian Arctic has a huge difference in the achievability of different goals, e.g., 98% of the electricity supply targets are achievable in a baseline scenario, while only 52% are achievable in a set of "navigation" targets. The proposed methodology can be useful for diving into the details of regional forecasts, such as the impact of key companies in a region or the influence of international politics. The implementation of lean construction is very important in the construction industry to reduce waste and increase productivity. To ensure its effective implementation, clear and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are necessary. Therefore, this research aimed to develop SMART-based KPIs (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound) for lean construction implementation, which measure indicators throughout the project life cycle. In this context, both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to collect data. Quantitative data were collected through surveys, assessing the perceptions of respondents concerning KPIs that had been developed. Meanwhile, qualitative data were collected through interviews and expert Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), which included in-depth analysis and conclusions regarding lean construction KPIs. The results produced were KPIs that could be used to measure effectiveness in implementing lean construction, particularly for building projects in Indonesia. Consequently, this research provided new views concerning effective lean construction, which could be explored in more depth and implemented for stakeholders in the construction industry. - Abstract
This paper aims to evaluate corporate governance in relation to enterprise performance indicators in order to enhance it. The intention is not only to align with the interests of shareholders, but also to foster competitive, sustainable, and inclusive growth. For this purpose, the leading energy producer in each of the five countries—Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Sweden—was investigated to evaluate their corporate governance performance. An analysis was conducted, employing regression analysis, Pearson correlation, and descriptive statistics. The influence of corporate governance on the performance of chosen enterprises was examined, utilising specifically developed models. The findings reveal that the corporate governance variables are diverse, and financial metrics exhibit significant variability, reflecting the complexity of the energy industry. The research results confirm that larger and more varied boards positively impact the performance of state-owned power suppliers and increase their net income. The presence of independent members was also found to contribute to the net income growth of state-owned power suppliers. However, the study indicated that the frequency of audit meetings does not necessarily increase earnings. Still, larger audit committees can contribute to CG decision-making processes concerning debt management. The results also implied the need to consider the qualifications of the board members and its composition for proper power interruption management to minimise the frequency and duration of power outages. Therefore, it must be of pivotal focus for respective corporate governance duties. In this respect, the need for more specific and regular assessments was also found to be justified regarding industry-specific challenges related to power system disruptions. Customer-centric strategies should deserve relevant attention as well. The enforcement of the management audit function could be a solution. Consequently, assessing the governance structures and decision-making processes must be systematic for energy producers due to the business dynamics leading to the revaluation of the evolving challenges and possible solutions aimed at the competitive and sustainable development of the energy sector. However, evaluating the ”greenness” of a manufactured product is a complex task due to data availability, varying definitions of ”green” products, and diverse environmental impacts. This research addresses this challenge by identifying, classifying, and prioritizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess green manufactured products, specifically within the Indian manufacturing context. A systematic approach was employed, incorporating Pareto analysis and the Full Consistency Method (FUCOM) to identify the most significant KPIs and assign them priority. Industry, academia, and customer perspectives were considered, resulting in distinct priorities. Industry experts prioritize economic aspects, while academia emphasizes health and safety. Customers focus on air quality and greenhouse gas emissions. This diversity of perspectives underscores the need for businesses to tailor their sustainability strategies to meet evolving customer demands while considering economic implications. The study identifies 30 vital KPIs crucial for evaluating green product manufacturing, encompassing dimensions like waste management, energy efficiency, workplace safety, and societal compliance. By considering these KPIs, businesses can make informed decisions to improve sustainability, reduce their environmental footprint, and align with consumer expectations. The findings provide a roadmap for businesses and policymakers to develop more effective strategies, targeting diverse stakeholder groups and promoting the production and use of green products. The aim of this study is to assess WHO/Eastern Mediterranean region (WHO/EMR) countries capacities, operations and outbreak response capabilities. Cross-sectional study was conducted targeting 22 WHO/EMR countries from May to June 2021. The survey covers 8 domains related to 15 milstones and key performance indicators (KPIs) for RRT. Responses were received from 14 countries. RRTs are adequately organised in 9 countries (64.3%). The mean retention rate of RRT members was 85.5% ± 22.6. Eight countries (57.1%) reported having standard operating procedures, but only three countries (21.4%) reported an established mechanism of operational fund allocation. In the last 6 months, 10,462 (81.9%) alerts were verified during the first 24 h. Outbreak response was completed by the submission of final RRT response reports in 75% of analysed outbreaks. Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) activities were part of the interventional response in 59.5% of recent outbreaks. Four countries (28.6%) reported an adequate system to assess RRTs operations. The baseline data highlights four areas to focus on: developing and maintaining the multidisciplinary nature of RRTs through training, adequate financing and timely release of funds, capacity and system building for implementing interventions, for instance, RCCE, and establishing national monitoring and evaluation systems for outbreak response.

Agrivoltaics is an innovative approach where solar energy, water, land and biodiversity are integrated into the same area to maximize resource utilization for sustainable development, also known as Agrivoltaism. The combination of solar water pumping and agri-solar has led to the development of a new generation of irrigation systems that are highly sustainable and efficient. Agri-solar water pumping can irrigate crops, feed livestock, clean solar modules, cool the PV system, generate energy, store water, and provide community drinking water. This paper addresses the basic design and capacity requirements of solar water pumping systems for irrigating a 0.5-ha Agrivoltaics system in Kuala Lumpur. The SISIFO tool has been used to simulate the Agri-solar water pumping performance for tropical humid climatic conditions. The various parameters like site details, climate data, type of PV modules, DC pump -motor and converters are used as input data to evaluate the energy yield parameters (output energy in DC and AC form), hydraulic parameters (volume of water pumped), loss parameters (capture and system losses) and efficiency parameters (performance of the system). Lettuce was chosen as it is fast growing with good yield per hectare. Based on the result, a detailed analysis of the agrivoltaic lettuce plant is performed. A detailed analysis of the solar resource assessment, system design, Key performance indicators, loss analysis and environmental analysis of the Agri-solar water pumping has been carried out. Considering their specific climatic conditions, this can significantly assist policymakers in selecting the optimal solar pumping station for agrivoltaic plants. The importance of considering various factors when choosing a solar pumping station for agrivoltaics is also highlighted.
