BACKGROUND: Fusarium infection has caused huge economic losses in many crops. The study aimed to compare the microbial community of suppressive and conducive soils and relate to the reduction of Fusarium wilt. RESULTS: High‐throughput sequencing and microbial network analysis were used to investigate the differences in the rhizosphere microbiota of the suppressive and conducive soils and to identify the beneficial keystone taxa. Plant pathogens were enriched in the conducive soil. Potential plant‐beneficial microorganisms and antagonistic microorganisms were enriched in the suppressive soil. More positive interactions and keystone taxa existed in the suppressive soil network. Thirty‐nine and 16 keystone taxa were identified in the suppressive and conducive soil networks, respectively. Sixteen fungal strains and 168 bacterial strains were isolated from suppressive soil, some of which exhibited plant growth‐promotion traits. Thirty‐nine bacterial strains and 10 fungal strains showed antagonistic activity against F. solani. Keystone taxa Bacillus and Trichoderma exhibited high antifungal activity. Lipopeptides produced by Bacillus sp. RB150 and chitinase from Trichoderma spp. inhibited the growth of F. solani. Microbial consortium I (Bacillus sp. RB150, Pseudomonas sp. RB70 and Trichoderma asperellum RF10) and II (Bacillus sp. RB196, Bacillus sp. RB150 and T. asperellum RF10) effectively controlled root rot disease, the spore number of F. solani was reduced by 94.2% and 83.3%. CONCLUSION: Rhizospheric microbiota of suppressive soil protects plants against F. solani infection. Antagonistic microorganisms in suppressive soil inhibit pathogen growth and infection. This paper presents a model predictive thrust force control (MPTFC) method for a multiple-modular permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMSLM). It focuses on the thrust assignment and thrust ripple of the motor drive system with a multiple-branch inverter. A discrete time model of the PMSLM is established, and the driving system structure and operation principle of the motor are studied. A multi-mode cost function is designed according to the requirements of the different load conditions, and the optimal voltage vector action time is determined. The operation mode is analyzed to determine the distribution factor, so as to reduce the thrust pulsation during operation and improve the performance of the drive system. The results indicate that the proposed MPTFC method is effective in different operating modes, and the drive system has high efficiency and safer performance compared to a conventional drive system. The subduction of the Bangong–Nujiang Ocean is important in the geological evolution of the Tibetan Plateau. In this paper, we report new zircon U-Pb age and Lu-Hf isotopic data and whole-rock elemental and Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic data for Early Cretaceous dacites from the Rena-Co area (RCA) in the southern Qiangtang Terrane (QT), central Tibet and use these data to better understand the tectonic evolution of the Bangong–Nujiang suture. LA–ICP-MS dating of zircons yields ages of 109.5 ± 0.6 Ma to 109.6 ± 0.8 Ma for the dacites from the RCA. Geochemically, these dacites are medium-K calc-alkaline and show high SiO2 contents of 64.79–70.37 wt.%, high Sr contents of 517–598 ppm and low Y contents of 8.45–10.7 ppm, similar to those of typical adakites. Additionally, all the rocks are strongly enriched in light rare earth elements and some large ion lithophile elements (e.g. Rb, U, K and Cs) but significantly depleted in high-field-strength elements (e.g. Nb, Ta and Ti), consistent with the geochemical characteristics of arc-type magmas formed in the subduction zone. Moreover, these adakite-like dacites show whole-rock initial (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios of 0.705119 to 0.705491, (206Pb/204Pb)i ratios of 18.489 to 18.508, (207Pb/204Pb)i ratios of 15.591 to 15.612, (208Pb/204Pb)i ratios of 38.599 to 38.686, ϵ Nd (t) values of −0.28 to +1.25 and single-stage Nd model ages of 642 to 818 Ma, as well as significantly positive zircon ϵ Hf(t) values of 3.9–13.1, with young Hf-depleted mantle ages of 331 to 923 Ma. These geochemical and isotopic data indicate that they are most likely derived from the juvenile thickened mafic lower continental crust, which contains partial melts of metasomatized peridotite and subduction-related fluids in the magma source region. Based on previous studies and our new data, we propose that the RCA adakite-like dacites are most likely a result of the northwards subduction of the Bangong–Nujiang Ocean lithosphere beneath the southern QT during the Early Cretaceous and that a slab rollback model could explain the formation of the RCA adakite-like dacites. Background: The application of random pattern skin flaps is limited in plastic surgery reconstruction due to necrosis. Fibroblast growth factor 9 (FGF9) was reported to exert a protective effect against myocardial damage and cerebral ischemia injury, but the impact of FGF9 in random flap survival is still unclear. In this study, we used a mouse model of random flaps to verify that FGF9 can directly increase flap survival area and blood flow intensity by promoting angiogenesis. Materials and Methods: In total, 84 male C57BL/6 mice weighing between 22 and 25 g were randomly divided into three groups (n = 28 each group). After skin flap operation, one group served as a control, a treatment group received FGF9, and a treatment group received FGF9+U0126. All flap samples were incised on postoperative day 7. Results: Our results showed that flap survival was significantly increased in the FGF9 group compared with that in the control group. This protective function was restrained by U0126. The results of histopathology, laser Doppler, and fluorescent staining all showed significant increases in capillary count, collagen deposition, and angiogenesis. FGF9 also significantly increased the expression of antioxidant stress proteins SOD1, eNOS, HO-1, vascular marker proteins CD31, VE cadherin, and pericyte marker protein PDGFRβ. Western blot showed that the phosphorylation degree of ERK1/2 increased after FGF9 treatment, and the expression of Nrf2, a downstream factor, was u-regulated. Western blot and immunofluorescence results of apoptosis-related proteins cleaved caspase-3, BAX, and Bcl2 showed that FGF9 inhibited apoptosis. ERK inhibitor U01926 reduced the beneficial effects of FGF9 on skin flap survival, including promoting angiogenesis, and showing antiapoptosis and antioxidative stress activities. Conclusions: Exogenous FGF9 stimulates angiogenesis of random flap and survival of tissue. the impact of FGF9 is closely linked to the prevention of oxidative stress mediated by ERK1/2-Nrf2. In the function of FGF9 in promoting effective angiogenesis, there may be a close interaction in the FGF9–FGFR–PDGFR–ERK–VE cadherin pathway. In particular, PDGFR and VE cadherin may interact. Aims The soil-borne oomycete pathogen Phytophthora parasitica can cause black shank disease in tobacco plants. The use of resistant varieties can be used to control black shank disease. The potential relationships of the composition of the rhizosphere microbiome to resistance to black shank disease are poorly understood. This work aims to compare the rhizosphere microbial community and network of the tobacco resistant variety HB202 with the susceptible variety XY3. Methods and Results Rhizospheric soils were collected from tobacco plants of HB202 and XY3 in the fields with same soil types and agricultural operations. The compositions of the rhizosphere microbial communities were revealed by Illumina sequencing of bacterial 16S rRNA genes and fungal spacer (ITS) sequences and analysed with molecular ecological network pipeline. The alpha diversity of fungal communities of the two varieties was significantly different. The structure and composition of bacterial and fungal communities in the resistant variety in the rhizosphere was different from the susceptible variety. Relative abundances of beneficial genera in the HB202 microbiota were higher than in the XY3. Conversely, the XY3 microbiota exhibited a higher abundance of deleterious genera compared to the HB202 microbiota. The resistant variety influences the topological properties and microbial interactions in the rhizosphere against the disease. The network of the HB202 was more complex and had higher connectivity compared to the XY3 network. Conclusions The rhizosphere microbial communities and networks of two tobacco varieties are very different. The measurement of water cut in crude oil is an essential procedure in petroleum production and it is desirable to obtain these data through an automatic and real-time method. Microwave sensors can be used for the task, and they are safe, robust and can cover the whole water cut range. However, they are relatively susceptible to the water conductivity and temperature, and the algorithms for addressing these problems are still rare in the literature. In this paper, a microwave transmission sensor that can measure the water cut under varying salinity conditions is proposed, and the algorithm for solving the water cut and salinity simultaneously with the measured amplitude and phase is described in detail. Experiments under different water cut and salinity conditions are conducted, and the results are used to verify the model and algorithm. Finally, a simplified and fast method for uncertainty analysis is proposed and applied to the iteration algorithm under test conditions. It can be concluded that accuracy higher than 95% in the water cut measurements can be expected under the 0~100% water cut range, and an error of about 10% in the water conductivity is achievable under water-continuous flow conditions. The uncertainty analysis shows that the calculated water cut and salinity results are negatively correlated, and the water salinity uncertainty tends to be larger than the water cut uncertainty. A modified power spectrum of biological tissues involving upper length-scale and bottom length-scale was introduced. In addition, the analytical expression of Hermite–Gaussian rectangular vortex beam with the parameter ( n = 2) in free space was derived. By this modified power spectrum, we established the normalized probability model of orbital angular momentum (OAM) states for Hermite–Gaussian rectangular vortex beams propagation in biological tissues. The results revealed that Hermite–Gaussian rectangular vortex beam exhibits a better anti-interference performance than Laguerre–Gaussian beam under the same conditions. The Hermite–Gaussian rectangular vortex beam propagates through a biological tissue with large bottom length-scale, small upper length-scale, small characteristic length of heterogeneity, low the fractal dimensions, and weak fluctuation strength, which produces a large normalized probability of signal OAM states. These results are fundamental to improving light propagation in tissue and provide a quantitative guidance for medical imaging and diagnosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background. Most of colorectal cancer (CRC) cases are sporadic and develop along the adenoma-carcinoma sequence. Intestinal microbial dysbiosis is involved in the development of colorectal cancer. However, there are still no absolute markers predicting the progression from adenoma to carcinoma. Aims. To investigate the characteristics of intestinal microbiota in colorectal adenoma and carcinoma patients and the correlations with clinical characteristics. Methods. Fecal samples were collected from 154 colorectal carcinoma patients (CRC group), 20 colorectal adenoma patients (AD group), and 199 healthy controls (control group). The intestinal microbiota was investigated by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Results. Compared to the healthy controls, microbial diversity was dramatically decreased in AD/CRC. At the genus level, Acidaminococcus significantly decreased with the order of control-AD-CRC (P < 0.05). Parvimonas, Peptostreptococcus, Prevotella, Butyricimonas, Alistipes, and Odoribacter were the key genera in the network of colorectal adenoma/carcinoma-associated bacteria. Combination of the top 10 most important species, including Butyricimonas synergistica, Agrobacterium larrymoorei, Bacteroides plebeius, Lachnospiraceae bacterium feline oral taxon 001, Clostridium scindens, Prevotella heparinolytica, bacterium LD2013, Streptococcus mutans, Lachnospiraceae bacterium 19gly4, and Eubacterium hallii, showed the best performance in distinguishing AD patients from CRC (AUC = 85.54 % , 95% CI: 78.83%-92.25%). The clinicopathologic features, including age, sex, tumor location, differentiation degree, and TNM stage, were identified to be closely linked to the intestinal microbiome in CRC. Conclusion. Several intestinal bacteria changed along the adenoma-carcinoma sequence and might be the potential markers for the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal adenoma/carcinoma. Schwann cells (SCs) are the major glial cells in peripheral nervous system. They unsheathe and myelinate axons and play an essential role in peripheral nerve regeneration. Several studies report that Parkin-mediated mitophagy is associated with various diseases. Melatonin promotes proliferation of central glial cells. Little is known about the effect of melatonin and Parkin-mediated mitophagy on peripheral nerve repair. In this study, using a rat model of a peripheral nerve injury (PNI) and in vitro model established by RSC96 cells treated with tert -butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP), we found that Parkin-mediated mitophagy can effectively reduce the production of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS), maintain the balance of mitochondrial membrane potential, maintain autophagic flux, and inhibit mitochondrial apoptosis. At the same time, we found that the increase of Parkin under stress is a manifestation of the RSC96 cells' resistance to oxidative stress to maintain RSC96 cells' balance. In our experiment, melatonin is similar to a Parkin agonist, up-regulating the expression of Parkin, enhancing all the positive results of Parkin in a stress state, such as inhibiting active oxygen production, maintaining autophagic flux, and inhibiting mitochondrial apoptosis. In addition, we design in vivo experiments to verify in In vitro experiments. In in vivo, melatonin promotes the expression of Parkin, maintains autophagic flux, inhibits apoptosis, promotes myelin regeneration, reduces the regeneration of collagen fibers around damaged tissues, and promotes peripheral nerve repair. When adenovirus was used to down-regulate the expression of Parkin, we found that all the positive effects of melatonin were attenuated. Collectively, these findings indicate that melatonin upregulates Parkin-mediated mitophagy and promotes peripheral nerve repair. The results provide a basis for development of effective drugs for PNI treatment. Abnormal lipid metabolism, such as systemic increased free fatty acid, results in overproduction of pro‐inflammatory enzymes and cytokines, which is crucial in the development of obesity‐related osteoarthritis (OA). However, there are only a few drugs that target the lipotoxicity of OA. Recent researches have documented that the traditional Chinese medicine, Sparstolonin B (Ssn B), exerted anti‐inflammatory effects in various diseases, but not yet in OA. On the basis of this evidence, our works purposed to evaluate the effect of Ssn B on free fatty acid (FFA) palmitate (PA)‐stimulated human osteoarthritic chondrocytes and obesity‐associated mouse OA model. We found that Ssn B suppressed PA‐triggered inflammatory response and extracellular matrix catabolism in a concentration‐dependent approach. In vivo, Ssn B treatment inhibited cartilage degeneration and subchondral bone calcification caused by joint mechanical imbalance and alleviated metabolic inflammation in obesity. Mechanistically, co‐immunoprecipitine and molecular docking analysis showed that the formation of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/myeloid differentiation protein‐2 (MD‐2) complex caused by PA was blocked by Ssn B. Subsequently, it leads to inactivation of PA‐caused myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88)‐dependent nuclear factor‐kappaB (NF‐κB) cascade.
