A stable attachment between bubbles and solid particles is essential for flotation. Therefore, it is particularly necessary to study the dynamic process that occur in the attachment of bubbles to a solid surface. In this paper, Teflon and plexiglass plates were used as hydrophobic and hydrophilic solid surfaces, respectively, and solid surfaces with roughness of 0.018 μm to 5.33 μm were prepared by polishing with sandpaper. The influence of roughness on the dynamic process in bubble attachment to solid surfaces with different hydrophobicity was studied via a high-speed camera (750 frames per second). It was found that roughness played a positive role in the attachment to the hydrophobic Teflon surface while a negative role in the attachment to the hydrophilic plexiglass surface in terms of the bubble's attachment to the solid plates. For a smooth Teflon surface, the formation of three–phase contact (i.e., the drainage of wetting film) took up to 95 ms, whereas for a very rough Teflon surface it took only 5 milliseconds. On the contrary, the high roughness prevented the bubble from attaching to the hydrophilic plexiglass surface. It was concluded that the increased roughness of Teflon plates was conductive to air entrapment in surface irregularities, inducing the rapid rupture of the wetting film on a very rough Teflon surface, while the increased roughness of the plexiglass plates resulted in "water pockets" in surface grooves, making the wetting film on the plexiglass surface stable. Aerosols are prone to breed bacteria on air filtration materials so as to cause secondary air pollution, especially carrying bacteria and viruses. This paper utilized coaxial electrospinning technology with traditional Chinese medicine Physalis alkekengi Linn as the core layer antibacterial material and polyvinylidene fluoride/polyacrylonitrile mixed solution as the shell layer material. Nonsolvent phase separation technology was employed to prepare the porous shell layer, achieving sustained slow-release and long-lasting antibacterial effects from the core P. alkekengi Linn. In addition, an in-situ polarization technology from high voltage in electrospinning process was adopted to achieve permanent polarization of polyvinylidene fluoride, which changed from α-crystal to β-crystal. Using the electrostatic charge adsorption effect and the ultra-fine pore size screening of the nanofiber membrane, high-efficiency and low-resistance filtration of aerosols above 0.3 μm was achieved (99.98% filtration efficiency and filtration resistance less than 25 Pa). It can be widely used in the field of air filtration and protection in high-risk environments such as stations, schools, and hospitals, achieving long-lasting antibacterial, high-efficiency, and low-resistance air filtration and protection. The water quality of sources in the Huaihe River Basin significantly affects the lives and health of approximately 16.7% of China's population. Identifying and quantifying pollution sources and risks is essential for effective water resource management. This study utilized Monte Carlo simulations and Geodetector to assess water quality and eutrophication, as well as to evaluate the sources of heavy metals and the associated health risks for both adults and children. The results showed that eutrophication of water sources in Huaihe River was severe, with an overall EI value of 37.92; 67.8% of the water sources were classified as mesotrophic and 32.2% classified as eutrophic. Water quality and eutrophication levels in the southern mountainous regions were better than those in the densely populated northern areas. Adults were found to have a higher carcinogenic risk than children, whereas children faced a higher noncarcinogenic risk than adults. Cr presented the highest carcinogenic risk, affecting more than 99.8% of both adults and children at levels above 1 × 10−6 but not exceeding 1 × 10−4. The noncarcinogenic risk from metals did not surpass a level of 1, except for Pb. As was primarily influenced by agricultural activities and transportation, whereas Cd, Cr, and Pb were mainly affected by industrial activities, particularly in local textile industries such as knitting and clothing manufacturing. The analysis demonstrated that the influence of anthropogenic factors on heavy metal distribution was significantly enhanced by indirect natural factors. For example, the explanatory power of Precipitation and Road Network Density on As was 0.362 and 0.189, respectively, whereas their interaction had an explanatory power as high as 0.673. This study indicates that the geodetector method is effective in elucidating the factors influencing heavy metal distribution in water, thereby providing valuable insights into pollution sources in global drinking water. In addition to creating economic value, crops also serve important ecological functions. Especially their carbon sink function, which plays a key role in mitigating climate change. In this study, the LMDI and the Tapio model were innovatively combined to quantitatively evaluate the carbon emissions and sinks in the Yellow River basin (YRB). It shows that the average annual growth rate of the YRB was −0.1344% during 2002–2020. Carbon emissions show a negative trend due to the transformation and upgrading of agriculture from traditional to modern and the implementation of policies related to China's agricultural benefits. Agricultural production efficiency is a major factor in inhibiting agricultural carbon emissions, reducing carbon emissions by an average of approximately 8.07 million tons per year. High-carbon emission and high-sink areas in agriculture are mainly concentrated in the southeast of the YRB, where livestock and poultry farming is the principal source of carbon emissions, with rice, wheat, and corn being the principal contributors to the carbon sink. Moreover, there are significant differences in the carbon sink capacity of crops in the YRB. Optimizing crop selection and area distribution can enhance the carbon sink capacity in different regions, contributing to more effective carbon emission control. This study combines agricultural carbon emissions with the carbon sequestration capacity of crops, providing data support and a theoretical basis for the policy formulation and planning of low-carbon agriculture in China. Lactate, once recognized as a wasty product from anaerobic glycolysis, is proved to be a pivotal signal molecule. Lactate accumulation occurs in diverse physiological and pathological settings due to the imbalance between lactate production and clearance. Under the condition with drastic changes in local microenvironment, such as tumorigenesis, inflammation, and microbial infection, the glycolysis turns to be active in surrounding cells leading to increased lactate release. Meanwhile, lactate can be utilized by these cells as an energy substrate and acts as a signal molecule to regulate cell functions through receptor‐dependent or independent pathways. In this review, we tended to tease out the contribution of lactate in tumor progression and immunomodulation. The label from industrial commodity packaging usually contains important data, such as production date, manufacturer, and other commodity-related information. As such, those labels are essential for consumers to purchase goods, help commodity supervision, and reveal potential product safety problems. Consequently, packaging label detection, as the prerequisite for product label identification, becomes a very useful application, which has achieved promising results in the past decades. Yet, in complex industrial scenarios, traditional detection methods are often unable to meet the requirements, which suffer from many problems of low accuracy and efficiency. In this paper, we propose a multifeature fast and attention-based algorithm using a combination of area suggestion and semantic segmentation. This algorithm is an attention-based efficient and multifeature fast text detector (termed AEMF). The proposed approach is formed by fusing segmentation branches and detection branches with each other. Based on the original algorithm that can only detect text in any direction, it is possible to detect different shapes with a better accuracy. Meanwhile, the algorithm also works better on long-text detection. The algorithm was evaluated using ICDAR2015, CTW1500, and MSRA-TD500 public datasets. The experimental results show that the proposed multifeature fusion with self-attention module makes the algorithm more accurate and efficient than existing algorithms. On the MSRA-TD500 dataset, the AEMF algorithm has an F-measure of 72.3% and a frame per second (FPS) of 8. On the CTW1500 dataset, the AEMF algorithm has an F-measure of 62.3% and an FPS of 23. In particular, the AEMF algorithm has achieved an F-measure of 79.3% and an FPS of 16 on the ICDAR2015 dataset, demonstrating the excellent performance in detecting label text on industrial packaging. In order to find out how big on earth the capacity of the senior tourism market, firstly this paper listed and inducted all the elements involved in the tourism market and then made mathematical analysis on the connections among different elements. Of those elements, purchasing power is considered as a key one. So in order to minimize the effect of uncertainties during the process of building model, linear regression model and ARIMA model were built specifically to analyze and predict the purchasing power. Then based on analysis the senior tourism market capacity model was built. Finally, through the analysis and fitting of authoritative data, the predicative value of the gross senior tourism market capacity and different segment markets in the next five years was worked out. Recurrence and metastasis are the major issues for papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). Current morphological and molecular classification systems are not satisfied for PTC diagnosis due to lacking variant-specific morphological criteria and high signal-to-noise in mutation-based diagnosis, respectively. Importantly, intratumor heterogeneity is largely lost in current molecular classification system, which can be resolved by single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq). However, scRNA-seq loses spatial information and morphological features. Herein, scRNA-seq is integrated and spatially-resolved transcriptomics (SRT) to elaborate the mechanisms underlying the spatial heterogeneity, malignancy and metastasis of PTCs by associating transcriptome and local morphology. This results demonstrated that PTC cells evolved with multiple routes, driven by the enhanced aerobic metabolism and the suppressed mRNA translation and protein synthesis and the involvement of cell-cell interaction. Two curated malignant and metastatic footprints can discriminate PTC cells from normal thyrocytes. Ferroptosis resistance contributed to PTC evolution. This results will advance the knowledge of intratumor spatial heterogeneity and evolution of PTCs at spatial and single-cell levels, and propose better diagnostic strategy., (© 2024 The Author(s). Hermite-Gaussian beams, as a typical kind of higher-order mode laser beams, have attracted intensive attention because of their interesting properties and potential applications. In this paper, a full vector wave analysis of the higher-order Hermite-Gaussian beams upon reflection and refraction is reported. The explicit analytical expressions for the electric and magnetic field components of the reflected and refracted Hermite-Gaussian beams are derived with the aid of angular spectrum representation and vector potential in the Lorenz gauge. Based on the derived analytical expressions, local field distributions of higher-order Hermite-Gaussian beams reflection and refraction at a plane interface between air and BK7 glass are displayed and analyzed.

The scattering of structured light beams by various particles is an important subject of research with myriad practical applications, such as the manipulation, measurement, and diagnosis of small particles. We carry out an analysis of the scattering of two-dimensional (2D) Airy beams by typical non-spherical particles. The electric and magnetic field vectors of the incident Airy beams are derived by introducing a vector potential in the Lorenz gauge. The scattered fields of the particles are obtained by utilizing the method of moments based on surface integral equations. Some numerical simulations for the scattering of 2D Airy beams by several selected non-spherical particles are performed and analyzed. Especially, a spheroidal particle is taken as an example, and the effects of various parameters describing the 2D Airy beams on its differential scattering cross section are examined. It is expected that this work will be helpful for understanding the interactions of 2D Airy beams with non-spherical particles and their further applications.

Structured light beams with distinct spatial inhomogeneity of amplitude, phase, and polarization have garnered tremendous attention in recent years. A better understanding of the vectorial structure of such beams is helpful to reveal their important and interesting features for further applications. In this paper, explicit analytical expressions for the electric field components of typical spatial-structured light beams, including fundamental Gaussian beams, Hermite-Gaussian beams, Laguerre-Gaussian beams, Bessel/Bessel-Gaussian beams, and Airy beams, beyond the paraxial approximation are derived on the basis of the vectorial Rayleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction integrals. Compared with the existing expressions in the literature, the expressions given in this paper are very concise. Using the derived analytical expressions, distributions of the electric field components of these typical structured light beams are displayed and analyzed.

Chirality plays an important role in understanding of the chiral light-matter interaction. In this work, we study theoretically and numerically the chirality of optical vortex beams reflected from an air-chiral medium interface. A theoretical model that takes into full account the vectorial nature of electromagnetic fields is developed to describe the reflection of optical vortex beams at an interface between air and a chiral medium. Some numerical simulations are performed and discussed. The results show that the chirality of the reflected vortex beams can be well controlled by the relative chiral parameter of the medium and is significantly affected by the incidence angle, topological charge, and polarization state of the incident beam. Our results provide new, to the best of our knowledge, insights into the interactions between optical vortex beams with chiral matter, and may have potential application in optical chirality manipulation.
