Modern manufacturing is primarily focused on providing things that are accessible, environmentally conscious, and energy efficient. An effort has been made herein to investigate the compounds that meet these requirements. The full‐potential linearized augmented plane wave method, in Wien2k code, is used to examine the structural, vibrational, mechanical, and transport properties of XVIn (X = Pd, Pt) half‐Heusler compounds. The generalized gradient approximation is used for structural optimization. The computed lattice constants are consistent with earlier theoretical and experimental results. The XVIn (X = Pd, Pt) investigation reveals that the material is inherently ductile and mechanically stable. It is found that XVIn (X = Pd, Pt) has a direct bandgap and a semiconducting property. The modified Becke–Johnson exchange approximation yields bandgap magnitudes of 0.25 and 0.55 eV for PdVIn and PtVIn, respectively. The Boltzmann transport offered by the BoltzTrap software is used to explore thermoelectric characteristics. The values of figure of merit (ZT) obtained for XVIn (X = Pd, Pt) compounds are very close to unity in the chemical potential range from −0.15 to 0.15 eV, indicating that they can be used to make thermoelectric devices with the maximum possible efficiency. Micro drilling using Electrical Discharge Machining (MD-EDM) has emerged as a prominent technique in precision manufacturing, offering the capability to create small and intricate holes. This study focuses on investigating the influence of input process parameters on nickel-based superalloy (Ni3 (Ti, Al)) material, while the electrode materials studied are copper, aluminum and tungsten, with varying electrode diameters of 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm and 0.6 mm. The research encompasses an L9-orthogonal array (L9-OA) in which the Machining Voltage, Peak Current (IP), Pulse off time (Poff) and Servo Standard Voltage (SVR) are varied. Three levels of Machining Voltage (4 volts, 6 volts and 8 volts) and IP are selected. Moreover, scanning electron microscope (SEM) imaging is employed to observe and analyze the morphological characteristics of the drilled holes. The experimental results reveal that the choice of electrode material and diameter significantly influences the SR of the drilled holes. Copper electrodes demonstrate the lowest SR, followed by tungsten and aluminum electrodes. Smaller electrode diameters result in improved surface finish due to reduced discharge energy concentration. Additionally, increasing the Machining Voltage leads to larger discharge energy and heat, resulting in increased SR. SEM imaging demonstrates distinct differences in hole morphology based on the electrode material and diameter, with copper electrodes producing cleaner and more precise holes with minimal recast layer formation compared to aluminum and tungsten electrodes. Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) and Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites (HMMCs) are advanced materials that possess distinctive mechanical properties, rendering them well-suited for a wide range of industrial applications. Nevertheless, the mechanical properties of MMCs and HMMCs can be further improved by optimizing their compositions and production routes. MMCs and HMMCs possess distinct mechanical characteristics, however their processing and production present various obstacles. However, the current processing and manufacturing methods for MMCs and HMMCs have limitations such as high production costs, limited design flexibility, and reduced mechanical properties. Therefore, the problem that needs to be addressed is the development of efficient and cost-effective processing and manufacturing methods that can improve the mechanical properties of MMCs and HMMCs while maintaining their unique properties. Therefore, this study conducted an experimental study on the mechanical and tribological features of HMMCs, where graphite powder and Boron Carbide were used as reinforcements, and AA7075 was used as the matrix. Induction stir casting was used to prepare the composite samples with different wt.% of reinforcements. Here, the Yield Strength (YS), Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS), elongation, hardness, impact, and wear rate are used as output response characteristics. From the obtained results, YS, UTS, and elongation were enhanced by +85.31%, +88.24%, and -63.75%, respectively, while the hardness and impact strength was improved by approximately 18% and 110%, respectively, with the reinforcement of Gr/B4C as compared to unreinforced AA7075. In the field of additive manufacturing, Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) is a prominent techniques used to create elaborate three-dimensional objects without wasting materials. 3D-printing technology has been revolutionized with the polymer Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG), replacing traditional polymers because of its chemical toughness and mechanical strength. In addition, composites made of PETG, especially those reinforced with fibers, have proven their versatility in different fields. However, the key issue is to prepare PETG composites with optimal mechanical performance throughout their service life, which requires precise fine-tuning of printing parameters. Therefore, this study attempted to optimize several process parameters, including orientation, print speed, layer height, and infill density, to achieve the full potential of printed aramid-fiber-reinforced PETG (PETG-KF) composites. The specimens were manufactured carefully according to the L16 orthogonal array, which ensured full variation of the parameters using Taguchi optimization. Following this, a comprehensive Analysis of Variance was performed with a 95% confidence interval as a support, which allowed for a comprehensive evaluation of the effects of the printing parameters on the bending properties. Based on the results, the optimal performance in bending properties of PETG-KF materials was achieved at a printing speed of 80 mm/s, 0.20 mm layer height, and 100% infill-density. This study not only elucidates the complex process of optimizing 3D-printing parameters but also offers valuable insights into improving the mechanical properties of PETG-KF-based composites. In addition, the investigation covers various mechanical attributes, including Ultimate Tensile Strength, hardness, fatigue resistance, and impact strength, which show significant improvement in 3D-printing.
