RESUMEN Les temps du quotidien ont changé et c’est chez soi que se font souvent, aujourd’hui, les loisirs et parfois le travail. On parle alors « d’internalisation », notamment des loisirs (multiplication des écrans par exemple). Il n’est plus possible aujourd’hui de se contenter de produire un logement stéréotypé en pensant que tous n’auront qu’à s’y adapter, car les familles se recomposent, certains vivent en cohabitation, etc. Donc l’usage de la maison, les modalités de vie chez soi se sont transformées et l’espace banalement proposé n’est pas organisé pour cela. Où en sommes-nous avec l’aspect social du développement durable ? La succession des passages de la vie nous conduit à rêver que l’habitat suive, s’adapte, que sa surface augmente ou se réduise selon les moments. Comment les architectes ont-ils pris en compte ces nouvelles données ? Les notions d’adaptabilité, de flexibilité et de réversibilité nous permettent d’y réfléchir et d’évoquer des expériences émergentes ou déjà bien établies. SUMMARY The daily routine has changed and today it is at home where often recreation and sometimes work take place. This is referred to as “internalization”, in particular of leisure (for example proliferation of screens). Today, it has become impossible to simply produce stereotyped housing, thinking that all will have to adapt to it, because families are recomposed, some live in cohabitation, etc. The use of the house and the living conditions at home have changed but the routinely proposed space is not organized for that. Where do we stand with the social aspect of sustainable development? The succession of passages of life leads us to dream that the habitat follows, adapts, that its surface increases or decreases according to the moments. How the architects have taken this new data into account? The notions of adaptability, flexibility and reversibility allow us to start reflecting on emerging or already well established experiences

One of the most important housing research issues is the interplay of socio-cultural factors (lifestyles) and of objective constraints (increasingly important in tense metropolitan housing markets) in shaping households' housing preferences. This paper presents a modelling application for interview/survey data analysis on home ownership within metropolitan areas. The goal of the application is to develop an exploratory methodological protocol to analyse the interplay of lifestyles and objective constraints in home ownership decisions, as well as the spatial inscription of residential trajectories and of mobility behaviours. Its final result is the identification of coherent socio-geographic profiles capable of segmenting new home owners within the study areas of Provence and of the French Riviera. Socio-geographic profiles are identified and characterized by a new five step clustering protocol using Bayesian Networks (BN). BN modelling can integrate both qualitative and quantitative data, and characterise profiles in a probabilistic framework. Socially appreciated suburban and as well as urban lifestyles are present in Provence and on the French Riviera, shaping particularly similar socio-geographic profiles. Peculiarities of the geographical configuration of the two metropolitan areas and of their housing stocks can explain the residual differences among the corresponding profiles.; Les interactions entre les facteurs socio-culturels (styles de vie) et les contraintes matérielles dans la formation des préférences des ménages sont au coeur des recherches sur le logement. Cet article présente une modélisation pour l'analyse de données d'entretiens issus d'une enquête sur l'accession à la propriété en contexte métropolitain, réalisée au sein des métropoles azuréenne et provençale. Un protocole méthodologique exploratoire permettant l'analyse des interactions entre styles de vie, contraintes, trajectoires résidentielles et pratiques de mobilité est ainsi développé. Une nouvelle méthode de classification par réseaux bayésiens est proposée, intégrant conjointement des données quantitatives et qualitatives, elle identifie et décrit sous une forme probabiliste des profils socio-géographiques cohérents. Ainsi, des profils similaires, liés à des styles de vie socialement valorisés plutôt urbain ou périurbain, apparaissent au sein des deux aires d'étude, quelques différences résiduelles liées à leurs spécificités (configuration spatiale et parc-logements) sont toutefois observées.

O presente trabalho discute a relação campo-cidade e rural-urbano, tomando como base o estudo sobre o mercado popular ou feiras na cidade ribeirinha de Afuá-PA. Parte-se do pressuposto de que as diversas redes de abastecimentos na cidade e seus fluxos intrarregionais possuem conexões, principalmente com outras cidades e localidades existentes, pela rede fluvial, dinamizando a comercialização de produtos e mercadorias regionais (in natura) ou industrializadas. Nessa pesquisa é pontuada a dinâmica do comércio, pelo método de investigação/pesquisa, analisadas as contribuições teóricas, entrevistas, registros fotográficos, observação e entrevistas qualitativas, sendo instrumentos de suporte para efetivação da mesma. Este trabalho buscou (re)pensar os conceitos e definições da relação campo-cidade e rural-urbano no contexto das cidades ribeirinhas amazônicas; as especificidades da relação rural-urbano na cidade de Afuá, a partir da dinâmica desse tipo de comércio apontando sua importância nas diversas redes de fluxos que abastecem a cidade em termos culturais, econômicos e simbólicos. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam uma relação campo-cidade e rural-urbano bastante intrínseca nas cidades ribeirinhas amazônicas, que, mesmo com o advento da modernização implicando nas relações econômicas e sociais não desestruturaram o modo de vida ou uma territorialidade que historicamente ali fora construído. Cet article traite de la relation entre villes et campagnes et zones rurales et urbaines, en se basant sur l'étude du marché et des foires populaires de la ville fluviale d’Afuá, Pará. Il part du postulat que les divers réseaux d'approvisionnement de la ville et ses flux intrarégionaux sont en connexion, principalement avec d'autres villes et localités existantes, par le réseau fluvial, dynamisant la commercialisation des productions et marchandises régionales, primaires ou manufacturées. Cette recherche met en exergue la dynamique du commerce, au moyen d'une enquête et d’une recherche, par l’analyse des contributions théoriques, des entrevues, des documents photographiques et des entretiens qualitatifs qui en seront les supports. Cette étude vise à (re)penser les concepts et définitions de la relation ville-campagne et rural-urbain dans le contexte des villes fluviales d'Amazonie, et les spécificités de la relation rural-urbain dans la ville d’Afuá à partir de la dynamique de ce type de commerce, par la mise en valeur de son importance dans les différents réseaux de flux qui alimentent la ville en termes culturels, économiques et symboliques. Les résultats de cette recherche montrent une relation ville-campagne et rural-urbain plutôt inhérente aux villes fluviales d'Amazonie, où même l'avènement de la modernisation et ses conséquences sur les relations sociales et économiques n’ont pas perturbé le mode de vie ou la territorialité qui s’y sont historiquement construites. The rural-town relationship is discussed through an investigation of popular markets or fairs in the river coastal town of Afuá PA Brazil. The several supply networks in the town and its intra-regional movements have wide connections underscored by the river that boosts the commerce of in natura or industrialized regional products and goods. Commerce dynamism is focused in current research which is performed through the investigatory method and analyzes theoretical contributions, interviews, photos and reflections, which are instruments that underpin its materialization. Current investigation re-considers the concepts and definitions of the countryside-town and rural-urban relationships within the context of the river coastal towns of the Amazon. It also investigates the specificities of the rural-urban relationship in Afuá from the point of view of commercial dynamics. In fact, its importance within the several movement networks, namely cultural, economical and symbolic, that supply the town, is demonstrated. Results show an intrinsic countryside-town and rural-urban relationship of the Amazon coastal towns. Even within the modernization context the economical and social relationships have not disrupted the way of life or the territoriality historically built and still extant in the region.

Their caste system, comprising of more than 30 main hierarchical groupings, is one of the most sophisticated in South Asia. Besides the traditional high and low castes, it also includes a variety of castes of intermediate status and a number of Vajrayana Buddhist groups. This book is the outcome of a long commitment between Gérard Toffin and this brilliant civilisation, extending from the early 1970s up to the present day. It is based on several first-hand case studies undertaken among a number of caste groups, living not only in the cities but also in rural areas. The themes that emerge include: kinship ties and the complex association of the guthi type; the duality between centre and periphery; the salience of territorial affiliation and social boundaries; the enactment of social ties in religious performances; and the construction of ethnic identity. Some peripheral groups, such as the Balami and the Pahari, are analysed here for the first time. The pace of changes over the last four decades or so is also dealt with, with particular emphasis on gender issues and the emergence of new caste associations. This is a multidisciplinary study of Gulmi and Argha-khanci, two districts in modern central Nepal that coincide with the boundaries of prominent earlier principalities, prior to the unification of the country in the late 18th century. The study, conducted by a team of French scholars in the early 1990s, traces the history, ecology, ethnology, social and political structure, economic activity, and religious ritual of the region's inhabitants. It is fascinating and detailed account of part of Nepal that has subsequently become one of the most troubled in the country.
