The Length-weight relationships (LWRs) are very important to data for accurate estimate of populations in stock menagement. In this study, the length-weight relationships and Fulton's condition factor (K) of some fish in Göynük Stream, Murat River (Bingöl/Turkiye) were examined. The LWRs and condition factor (K) of Cyprinon macrostomus, Garra rufa, Barbus lacerta, and Acanthobrama marmid were analyzed between March 2017-February 2019. LWRs was estimated using the linear regression model. LWRs were obtained as total weight (TW) = 0.013L2.98, 0.057L2.40, 0.016L2.79 and 0.029L2.82 for C. macrostomus, G. rufa, B. lacerta and A.marmid, respectively. The b values acquired in the four fish species ranged from 2.13-2.57 (G. rufa-Male; Female) to 2.77-3.34 (B. lacerta-Female; Male). Only B. lacerta males had a positive allometric growth versus the males and females of all species had a negative allometric growth. The K of the fish species varied from 0.90-0.99 (A. marmid-Male; Female) to 1.27 (G. rufa-All), indicating that most of the fish were in good condition. However, C. macrostomus and G. rufa were better condition than B. lacerta and A. marmid. The study has provided baseline information on the LWR and K of the fish species in Göynük Stream. The data that would be useful to adapt the adequate regulations for sustainable fish stock estimation in the stream for fishery biologist. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study which has been done between April 2008 and June 2009, fishes captured from Ağrı and Erzurum were examined by endoparasite fauna. Examined fishes are as follows: Acanthobrama marmid Heckel, 1843, Alburnus akili Battalgil, 1942, Barbus plebejus Bonaparte, 1839, Barbus mursa Güldenstädt, 1773, Capoeta barroisi Lortet in Barrois, 1894, Capoeta capoeta Güldenstädt, 1773, Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus, 1758, Leuciscus cephalus Linnaeus, 1758. Consequently, a total of 908 individual parasites were detected from six parasite species; Rhabdochona denudata Dujardin, 1845 (Nematoda), Neoechinorhynchus sp. and Pomphorhynchus sp. (Acanthocephala), Bothriocephalus acheilognathi Yamaguti, 1934, and Caryophyllaeus laticeps Pallas, 1781 (Cestoda), Allocreadium isoporum Looss, 1894 (Digenea). The distribution of the infection prevalence, mean intensity, and abundance values of parasite species were determined. As a result of our study, 93 of 233 (39.91%) fish were reported with parasites. The paper describes climatic and tectonic effects on fluvial processes of East Anatolia. This study from the Muş Basin contains three alluvial terrace levels (T3-T1) ranging from 30–35 m to 3–5 m above the present Murat River in its middle section. In order to provide a chronology for the evaluation of the significant, effects of climatic changes and tectonic uplift, we used optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating of the river deposits of the youngest (T3) and medium terrace (T2). The ages from these terrace deposits show that the T3 has formed approximately 6.5 ka ago, i.e., during the last part of the Holocene (MIS 1) and T2 has formed nearly 25 ka ago, i.e., during MIS 2 at the ending of the last glacial period. According to these results, it appears that the Murat River established its terrace sequences both in cold and warm periods. The variations in climate oriented fluvial evolution between the East Anatolia fluvial system and the temperate-periglacial fluvial systems in Europe may be the conclusion of different vegetation cover and melting thicker snow coverings in cold periods.

Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) is a reliable and alternative method used specially in the growth characteristics of some fish species. The purpose of this work was to compare with length-weight relationships and Artificial Neural Networks, the length-weight relation of 415 (232 female and 183 male) Alburnus mossulensis captured from Murat River between January 2018 and December 2018. The total length and the weight of the fish changed between 7.2-19.9 cm (12.81±0.095) and 3.24-40.6 g (13.51±0.30) respectively. The length-weight relationships were determined for females, males and all individuals as W=0.0097L2.812 (R²=0.95), W=0.0168L2.599 (R²=0.95) and W=0.0130L2.701 (R2=0.95), respectively. The growth type of A. mossulensis was negative allometric growth for female, male and all individuals. Regression analysis showed that length has high significantly correlation with weight (R = 0.97, R² = 0.95, F1,413 = 79550.3, P <0.001) and 95% remain in weight was due to length remain. t-test results was used for the importance condition of the regression coefficients (t=89.193, P<0.01). Lengthlength relations were highly significant with R² values greater than 0.97. The condition factor values were ranged between 0.430 and 0.975 for all individuals. According to the comparison of the results obtained with MAPE (%), ANNs provided better results than the LWRs. This study was conducted to determine the seasonal prevalence, and intensity of Allocreadium isoporum, which was founded as an endoparasite in Oxynoemacheilus tigris. A total of 136 host fishes was captured seasonally from Murat River near province of Bingol, Turkey, between from December 2012 to November 2013. During the study totally 209 parasites were recorded. The seasonal prevalence, and intensity, seasonal variation of sex and size of the host fish, the highest and lowest infection density, and larval and mature forms of A. isoporum ratio of the distribution were investigated. In this study, the ages of 76 individuals belonging to the Cyprinion macrostomus (Heckel, 1843) population caught from Murat River near Bingöl city were determined from six different bony structures and the level of calcium mineral of each bony structure was measured using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The determined element was statistically examined according to the age, length, weight and sex of the fish. The age, length and weight ranges of the fish were found to be 2–6, 12.0–21.2 mm and 16.3–135.3 g respectively. The relationships between the accumulation of calcium in all bony structures and the fish size (both length and weight) were found to be insignificant ( P>0.05). However, a strong relationship was found between fish weight and accumulation of the mineral in vertebra and otolith. A strong correlation was also found between fish length and accumulation of calcium in the dorsal fin ray, followed by the otolith, vertebra and cleithrum bones respectively. Whereas the accumulation of calcium according to the age groups was found to be insignificant for scale and operculum ( P>0.05), it was found to be significant for all the other bony structures examined ( P<0.05). In conclusion, the accumulation of calcium on some bony structures of C. macrostomus was observed to increase with an increase in age, length and weight of fish, although the increases were not statistically significant at least for some bony structures ( P>0.05). This study was conducted while working on the fish population in the Murat River in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. During the field surveys, Lernaea cyprinacea L. 1758, an ectoparasitic copepod species was detected on the soft parts the dorsal and anal fins of Cyprinion macrostomus.
