Abstract Background Cryptococcosis is an opportunistic infection caused by the encapsulated yeast Cryptococcus neoformans and most remarkably manifests in HIV-infected individuals, especially in the settings of very low CD4 count. Development of cryptococcosis in HIV-uninfected individuals is exceedingly rare and usually signifies a marked immunodeficiency. Cryptococcosis in association with myasthenia gravis or thymoma has been previously documented in only very few cases in the literature. Case presentation We reported a complicated case of severe cutaneous cryptococcosis in a 39-year-old Vietnamese male patient with myasthenia gravis on long-term immunosuppressive therapy. The patient presented with a five month history of recurrent and progressive skin lesions that later on progressed into cryptococcal meningitis. Conclusion Through this case, we aimed to emphasize the importance of including cutaneous cryptococcosis in the differential diagnosis of cutaneous lesions in patients on chronic immunosuppressive therapy. The cutaneous manifestations of cryptococcosis can be the first clue for a disseminated disease, which makes early recognition crucial and life-saving.

This paper addresses the influence of personal traits on the leadership outcomes of change by principals in primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary levels in Vietnamese schools. The research employed a survey questionnaire method to collect data, which was processed using SPSS software version 22. The design of the practical study was carried out based on the literature review and theoretical research. The paper did not use the original research ideas of previous authors but made certain adjustments to align with the research objectives and context. Linear regression analysis was utilized, with six categories of personal traits as independent variables consisting of thirteen specific traits, and two dependent variables representing leadership outcomes, including teacher leadership outcomes and general leadership outcomes. The analysis results revealed that teacher leadership outcomes are negatively influenced by arrogance, dominance, authoritarian thinking, emotionality, and balanced thinking, and they are positively influenced by proactivity, adaptability and discipline, perfectionism, curiosity, and eagerness to learn. The initial study results provide a foundation for applying the role of school leaders' personal traits in management, leadership, evaluation policies, and personnel appointments in schools today. This paper deals with a study of three methods for health index (HI) extraction in semiconductor manufacturing equipments. The first method uses degradation reconstruction-based identification with basic principal component analysis (PCA), the second one uses multiway PCA and the last one extracts HI from the significant points related to degradation. A comparison of these methods are made discussing about their efficiency and shortcoming for the implementation. The studied methods are applied on two data sets: 1) a simulation case and 2) a real case provided by ST-Microelectronics, where experimental results highlight the advantages and limits of each one. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a significant impact on society, both physically and mentally. Mask use in public places has been made mandatory in many countries, as it is one of the most effective methods to prevent transmission of the virus. However, continuous mask usage has been associated with the emergence of various cutaneous diseases in the areas of contact with the mask. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of various cutaneous manifestations resulting from mask use on patients' quality of life through a questionnaire survey. This was a cross-sectional study conducted at a hospital from May to July 2022. Patients who had experienced skin symptoms related to mask use in the past or present were included in the study. Participants completed the questionnaire with informed consent. A total of 165 participants participated in the survey, with the most common complaint being itching (58.18%), followed by acne (52.73%). Itching was found to have the highest dermatology life quality index score. Patients with skin redness had a lower quality of life compared to those without it.
