White flowers are an important element of natural beauty, although they are thought of colorless. Anthocyanins are the major compounds responsible for a variety of pigments in flowers. White flowers surely lack pigmented anthocyanins and other compounds, but there are regulatory mechanisms that hinder the deposition of color pigments in white flowers. Moreover, there are also some compounds that deposit to instigate white appearance and the genetic regulators control the biosynthesis and deposition of such compounds. Experts have shown that fluctuation in the equilibrium of FLS and DFR genes determines the degree of accumulation of anthocyanins and flavonols in the flowers, leading to different color patterns. The gene suppression techniques to suppress certain flavonoid pathway genes, such as CHS, or the insertion of DNA transposable elements into CHS produce white flower color in a number of species. Although pigments find wide application in the everyday life, white color does possess special importance in nature. Land plants use white flowers for reproductive viability during cold early spring to conserve energy and reduce nutrient costs, particularly in low density pollinations. Moreover, white fruit skins deposit specific amounts of anthocyanins and phenols with significant health benefits. This review, thus, deciphers the regulatory mechanisms for the absence of pigments in the white flowers and the deposition of special compounds causing white appearance and the benefits of white color in nature. Background: Primary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the breast is an aggressive and rare disease with DLBCL (Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma) being the most common variant followed by Marginal zone lymphoma (MZL), follicular lymphoma (FL) and Burkitt's lymphoma. Out of these, MZL and FL are less aggressive variants unless they undergo transformation. Primary breast lymphoma can mimic inflammatory breast cancer clinically due to peau d'orange appearance of the overlying skin. Association of primary breast lymphoma with TNF alpha inhibitors is rare but has been reported in the literature. Case presentation: We present one such case where a 56-year-old lady presented with a breast lump and nipple retraction in her right breast for 6 weeks. The patient had a history of psoriatic arthritis and had been on Disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDS) for six years. TNF alpha inhibitor was started 3.5 years ago. Clinically, the case was highly suspicious for inflammatory breast cancer. Bilateral mammogram revealed 80mm irregular density in the right retro areolar region of breast; however, no discrete mass was identified on ultrasound examination. Core biopsy showed extranodal marginal zone lymphoma with features of impending transformation. The neoplastic cells were positive for CD45, CD20, PAX5 and BCL6. These cells were negative for AE1/AE3, CD5, CD10, MUM1 and cyclin D1. The patient was then started on R-CHOP (rituximab-cyclophosphamide-hydroxydaunorubicin-oncovin-prednisone) chemotherapy regime for six cycles. TNF alpha inhibitor was stopped. The patient tolerated the chemotherapy regime well and no flare ups of psoriasis were noted. Conclusion: There was rapid progression of breast tumour within a span of 6 weeks in a patient with no family history, no systemic lymphadenopathy and in a background of TNF alpha inhibitors. Based on these findings and the published literature, a probable association of primary breast lymphomas with TNF alpha inhibitors is likely. Background: B3 category mainly consists of lesions that provide benign histology on core biopsy, but either are known to show heterogeneity or have increased risk of associated malignancy. However, the level of risk is very different for different entities. All the cases should be looked for atypia. The objective of this study is to compare various B3 lesions in two audits, to calculate the median rate and upgrade rates (the rate at which they turn into malignancy on subsequent excision) for different B3 lesions and to compare them with the national standards and published literature. The study aims to see whether vacuum assisted excision or surgical excision has been done in such lesions. Methods: This is a retrospective study and encompasses two audits done in 2017- 18 and 2020-21 at Queen's hospital, Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS trust. A total of 4478 cases were reviewed and 206 cases were graded as B3 on core biopsy. Results: Overall, 113 cases were graded as B3 in 2020-21 and 93 cases in 2017- 18 giving the median rate of 5% and the overall upgrade rate of 12%. Intraductal papilloma was the most commonly seen lesion in both audits. Also, 31 cases underwent vacuum assisted excision and 62 cases underwent surgical excision, with 38 cases not undergoing further excision. Conclusion: The median rate was within the 'preferred median rate'- 4.5-8.5% and the upgrade rate was comparable (16.57%) with those of National Breast Cancer screening audit, 2016-2019. The type of excision for various lesions was in line with the criteria stated by the Royal College of Pathologists. The lesions which were not excised did not turn into malignancy on follow-up. Signet ring cell carcinoma, in general, is a peculiar tumour. There is always a query regarding its exact site of origin. Even, immunohistochemistry shows overlapping staining patterns between various sites. On one hand, signet ring cell carcinoma of the bladder is a rare occurrence, but on the other hand metastatic signet ring cell carcinoma to the bladder is not uncommon. The entrepreneurship development programme of government and non-government organisations aims at the generation of income and improving the standard of living of members. It consists of packages of incentives, subsidies, concessions, infrastructural facilities, technical, managerial guidance, training, etc., through a network of organisations for supporting entrepreneurship development (Solanki et al., 2018). The Government of India is offering easy loans for self-employment purpose to deal with the problem of unemployment, women empowerment, and economic growth. To achieve the objective, mere allocation of finances is not sufficient as it may lead to misuse of funds so the microfinance institutions besides allocating funds also offer training programmes to its beneficiaries. The present study tries to identify the development of basic skills among the beneficiaries and their satisfaction level towards these training programmes which is essential for the development of skills to utilise of funds for productive purposes leading to self-employment and income generation. The study is conducted at three districts of Uttar Pradesh, i.e., Lucknow, Barabanki, and Raebarelli. The responses of 75 women beneficiaries of training programmes from microfinance institutions were collected through field work. The study finds out that microfinance institutions play an important role in the development of entrepreneurial skills among its beneficiaries by imparting training and counselling & guidance sessions for self-employment and income generation and most of the beneficiaries are found to be highly satisfied with the training programme. ABSTRACT In this era, the neuroscientists get attention to find a network of brain which is activated in resting state of mind. It is challenging for any analytical technique to find out the connectivity among Brodmann areas of brain in resting state. To find network, a study was conducted in which brains are scan by functional magnetic resonance imaging of four healthy right handed individuals. Remote sensing-based evapotranspiration (ET) models with various levels of sophistication have emerged recently with the possibilities of user-defined model calibrations. Their application for water resources management and climate studies from regional to global scale has been rapidly increasing, which makes it important to validate field scale ET in a complex crop assemblage before operational use. Based on in situ flux-tower measurements by the eddy-covariance (EC) system, this study tested three single-source energy balance models for estimating daily ET from fennel/maize/ryegrass-clover cropland rotations in a Mediterranean context in southern Italy. The sensitivity of three user-friendly ET models (SEBS, QWaterModel, and METRIC-EEFlux) with reference to the EC system over a center pivot irrigated cropland is discussed in detail. Results in terms of statistical indicators revealed that SEBS and METRIC-EEFlux showed reasonable agreements with measured ET (r2 = 0.59SEBS, RMSE = 0.71 mm day−1; r2 = 0.65METRIC, RMSE = 1.13 mm day−1) in terms of trends and magnitudes. At 30 m spatial resolution, both models were able to capture the in-field variations only during the maize development stage. The presence of spurious scan lines due to sensor defects in Landsat L7 ETM+ can contribute to the qualities of the METRIC-Efflux's ET product. In our observation, the QWaterModel did not perform well and showed the weakest congruency (r2 = 0.08QWaterModel) with ground-based ET estimates. In a nutshell, the study evaluated these automated remote sensing-based ET estimations and suggested improvements in the context of a generic approach used in their underlying algorithm for robust ET retrievals in rotational cropland ecosystems. Summary: Colorectal poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) are typically associated with poor outcomes. The mechanisms of their aggressiveness are still being investigated. Microsatellite instability (MSI) has recently been found in colorectal NECs showing aberrant methylation of the MLH1 gene and is associated with improved prognosis. We present a 76-year-old lady with an ascending colon tumour showing features of a pT3 N0 R0, large cell NEC (LCNEC) following right hemicolectomy. The adjacent mucosa showed a sessile serrated lesion (SSL) with low-grade dysplasia. Immunohistochemistry showed loss of expression for MLH1 and PMS2 in both the LCNEC and dysplastic SSL. Molecular analysis indicated the sporadic nature of the MLH1 mismatch repair (MMR) protein-deficient status. Our patient did not receive adjuvant therapy and she is alive and disease-free after 34 months follow-up. This finding, similar to early-stage MMR-deficient colorectal adenocarcinoma, is likely practice-changing and will be critical in guiding the appropriate treatment pathway for these patients. MMR-deficient colorectal NECs have been found to have a better prognosis compared with MMR-proficient NECs. MMR status can be detected using immunohistochemistry. Immunohistochemistry for MMR status is routinely performed for colorectal adenocarcinomas. Immunohistochemical expression of MMR protein and MSI analysis should be performed routinely for early-stage colorectal NECs in order to identify a subgroup of MMR-deficient NECs which are associated with a significantly more favourable prognosis.
