This study sought to evaluate the effectiveness of introducing digital software in music education to improve academic performance and solfeggio class attendance. To assess academic performance, a test consisting of 25 theoretical questions and 25 practical tasks was developed. The Bologna model was used as an assessment system. The groups were compared by calculating the Student's t-test in terms of the "Test Score" and "Missed Classes" parameters. The collected data revealed that the mean score for the experimental group was 87.50 out of 100, while in the control group, it was much lower, namely 65.37. Likewise, the control group was characterized by satisfactory (D) performance in mastering solfeggio, with the mean score ranging between 64 and 73, whereas experimental group participants had an average of 82-89. The statistical data processing results showed that the six-month use of the ChordIQ app contributed to more effective mastering of solfeggio by amateur musicians. At the same time, the difference between the groups turned out to be significant in both cases, so the research hypothesis was confirmed for both of them (p < 0.05). Overall, the results showed that ChordIQ is a useful mobile app teaching the user music in an exciting and interactive way. The findings collected can be used to update traditional solfeggio curricula, conduct scientific studies in the field of interactive music education, as well as create new dedicated software.

BackgroundGinseng Radix et Rhizoma (GS) is frequently used as an adjuvant therapy for patients with heart failure (HF). Metoprolol is widely used in patients with HF. However, there is no report on the combined effects of GS and metoprolol in patients with HF.ObjectiveThis study investigated the combined effects of GS and metoprolol in male C57BL/6J mice with HF and the underlying mechanisms.Materials and methodsWe utilized a mouse myocardial HF model to measure the serum levels of creatine kinase (CK) and creatine kinase-MB form (CK-MB) using an automated biochemical analyzer. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and cardiac troponin (cTnT) levels were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Autophagy of myocardial cells was evaluated using transmission electron microscopy, and changes in signal pathway proteins related to autophagy were analyzed by Western blotting.ResultsGS combined with metoprolol improved heart function, reduced heart damage, and decreased serum levels of CK, CK-MB, LDH, and cTnT. The combination of GS and metoprolol decreased autophagy in myocardial cells by reducing the levels of autophagy-related proteins (LC3, p62, Beclin1, and Atg5) and increasing the ratios of p-PI3K/PI3K, p-Akt/Akt, and p-mTOR/mTOR.ConclusionGS enhanced the anti-heart failure effect of metoprolol. Its mechanism of action might be related to the inhibition of autophagy mediated by the activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway.

Background: This study compares first-line pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy with chemotherapy alone for patients with HER2-negative advanced gastric cancer (GC) and gastroesophageal junction cancer (GEJC) in China. Methods: A Markov state-transition model was developed based on the phase 3 randomized KEYNOTE-859 clinical trial data. The health state utility values and direct medical costs were derived from the KEYNOTE-859 clinical trial, the relevant literature, and local charges. The measured outcomes included quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) and the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER). Probabilistic and one-way sensitivity analyses (OWSA) were performed to assess the uncertainty of the model. Results: In the base analysis, the incremental effectiveness and cost of pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone were 0.22 QALYs and $16,627.31, respectively, resulting in an ICER of $76,936.60/QALY, which is higher than the willingness-to-pay threshold in China ($35,864.61/QALY). Subgroup analyses revealed that the ICERs of pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone were $72,762.68 and $34,813.70 in the populations with PD-L1 CPS of 1 or higher (CPS ≥ 1) and PD-L1 CPS ≥ 10 (CPS ≥ 10), respectively. Conclusions: As first-line therapy for patients with locally advanced or metastatic HER2-negative GC/GEJC in China, pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy is less cost-effective than chemotherapy alone, however, in the CPS ≥ 10 subgroup is more. This study uses first-principles calculations to investigate the asymmetric Zr2CO/VSe2 heterostructure for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) applications, focusing on its interlayer interactions, electronic structures, and HER performance across six stacking angles. Our findings demonstrate remarkable structural stability, characterized by interlayer distances of 2.1 Å to 2.7 Å and binding energies from −150.521 to −257.939 meV Å−2. Band structure analyses highlight the heterostructures' exceptional conductivity, essential for catalytic efficiency. Additionally, charge density difference calculations reveal significant charge transfer and redistribution at the interface, providing insights into the interlayer interactions and their influence on catalytic activity. Notably, the Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption (ΔGH*) remains within ±0.1 eV across all configurations, indicating superior HER activity. Further analysis shows that the work function (Φ) serves as a critical electronic structure descriptor, influencing HER performance. The relationship between work function and ΔGH* across different interlayer distances underscores the predictive value of the work function for HER activity. These insights provide a theoretical foundation for developing advanced and effective non-noble metal HER catalysts, paving the way for innovations in sustainable energy technologies. Summary: Stoichiometric rules may explain the allometric scaling among biological traits and body size, a fundamental law of nature. However, testing the scaling of elemental stoichiometry and growth to size over the course of plant ontogeny is challenging.Here, we used a fast‐growing bamboo species to examine how the concentrations and contents of carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P), relative growth rate (G), and nutrient productivity scale with whole‐plant mass (M) at the culm elongation and maturation stages.The whole‐plant C content vs M and N content vs P content scaled isometrically, and the N or P content vs M scaled as a general 3/4 power function across both growth stages. The scaling exponents of G vs M and N (and P) productivity in newly grown mass vs M relationships across the whole growth stages decreased as a −1 power function.These findings reveal the previously undocumented generality of stoichiometric allometries over the course of plant ontogeny and provide new insights for understanding the origin of ubiquitous quarter‐power scaling laws in the biosphere. Background and ObjectiveInterstitial lung disease with lung cancer (ILD-LC) is rare and its management has not been fully described. This study aimed to investigate the management and prognosis of ILD-LC patients in China.MethodsThe present analysis is a retrospective real-world cohort study. Clinical data of ILD-LC patients were obtained from 3 hospitals in China. The overall survival (OS) of patients was analyzed. Univariate and multivariate regression analyses were performed.ResultsOne hundred eighty-four ILD-LC patients included were biased toward male (85.3%), smokers (75.5%), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) (58.2%) patients with comorbidities (67.9%) and ECOG-PS score of 1 (65.2%). Most patients were advanced peripheral non-small cell lung cancer. The initial anti-cancer regimen for ILD-LC is mainly chemotherapy, and patients with early-stage LC prefer surgery. In the anti-cancer cohort, the number of ILD-LC patients who underwent the 2nd and 3rd or more anti-cancer regimens were 78 (55.7%) and 32 (22.8%), respectively. In the non-anticancer cohort, the median OS was 3.5 months. In the early-stage cohort, the median OS was 14.2 months in the systematic therapy group; however, the median OS was not reached in the surgery group. In the advanced-stage cohort with systematic therapy, the median OS was 7.2 months. Interstitial pneumonia (IIP) and anti-angiogenesis were associated with OS in the univariate analysis, whereas anti-angiogenesis was an independent protective factor for advanced LC with ILD.ConclusionPatients with ILD-LC have very poor prognosis. Appropriate anti-tumor treatment can prolong the survival time of patients who can tolerate it. Targeted therapy and immunotherapy are alternative treatments for LC patients with mild ILD. For ILD patients with advanced LC, antiangiogenic regimens significantly improve the prognosis of the disease.

Compared with existing conventional teaching scheme, the novel teaching scheme enriches the content and form of the course, promotes the curriculum teaching system more systematic and scientific, helps students further clarify the focus of professional learning, which enables them to achieve the curriculum teaching goals more effectively.

Colleges and universities across the country have established various professional student training systems in accordance with the requirements of engineering certification. This article gives a brief introduction to the design and development process of civil engineering certification management information system according to the training standards of engineering certification. The aim of this study is to solve the problem of low efficiency of civil engineering professional engineering certification.

Based on the theories and methods of IOT technology, this article applies IOT technology to concrete mixing plant equipment, creatively proposes an integrated system of concrete mixing plants, to control the whole process and the whole cycle of concrete production, and improve the quality of concrete. The practical application of the system has greatly improved concrete production efficiency and production quality.

Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis), once highly praised worldwide, has been found to be a problematic species due to its unconstrained expansion into adjacent woodlands and negative effects on the function services of forest ecosystems. To determine the major factors affecting bamboo expansion into neighbor woodlands, we investigated the expansion characteristics of moso bamboo and the properties of stand structure and soil for 58 bamboo–woodland interfaces (BWIs) across Jiangxi province in China. Then, we analyzed the relationships between the variables of bamboo expansion and the properties of interfaces through a redundancy analysis. The characteristics (the expansion distance and the number and size of new culms) of moso bamboo expansion into disturbed forests were more significant (p < 0.01) than those into non-disturbed forests. The bamboo expansion into deciduous broad-leaved forest was much faster (1.33 m/yr) than evergreen broad-leaved forest (0.82 m/yr) and needle-leaved forest (1.08 m/yr). The characteristics of stand structure had more direct explanatory power (58.8%) than soil properties (4.3%) and their interaction (10.0%) for the variations in bamboo expansion. The canopy closure of recipient forests was identified as the most significant factor negatively correlated to bamboo expansion. The number of parent culms and the ratio of deciduous to evergreen trees ranked in sequence, and both imposed positive effects on the expansion. Regarding soil properties, only the water content was identified for its explanatory power and negative influence on bamboo expansion. Our findings illustrated that the expansion of moso bamboo showed remarkable variations when facing different woodlands. Stand characteristics (canopy closure, canopy height, etc.) of good explanatory power were the major variables affecting the expansion of moso bamboo. In order to control the expansion of bamboo and protect woodlands, disturbances (extracting timber, girdling trunks) should be prevented in bamboo–woodland interfaces. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The toxin MazF in Escherichia coli cleaves single-stranded RNAs specifically at ACA sequences. MazF overexpression virtually eliminates all cellular mRNAs to completely block protein synthesis. However, protein synthesis can continue on an mRNA that is devoid of ACA triplets. The finding that ribosomal RNAs remain intact in the face of complete translation arrest suggested a purpose for such preservation. We therefore examined the sequences of all transcribed RNAs to determine if there was any statistically significant bias against ACA. While ACA motifs are absent from tmRNA, 4.5S RNA, and seven of the eight 5S rRNAs, statistical analysis revealed that only for tmRNA was the absence nonrandom. The introduction of single-strand ACAs makes tmRNA highly susceptible to MazF cleavage. Furthermore, analysis of tmRNA sequences from 442 bacteria showed that the discrimination against ACA in tmRNAs was seen mostly in enterobacteria. Escherichia coli mRNA interferases, such as MazF and ChpBK, are sequence-specific endoribonucleases encoded by toxin-antitoxin (TA) systems present in its genome. A MazF homologue in Staphylococcus aureus ([MazF.sub.Sa]) has been shown to inhibit cell growth when induced in E. coli. Here, we determined the cleavage site for [MazF.sub.Sa] with the use of phage MS2 RNA as a substrate and CspA, an RNA chaperone, which prevents the formation of secondary structures in the RNA substrate. [MazF.sub.Sa] specifically cleaves the RNA at a pentad sequence, U [down arrow] ACAU. Bioinformatics analysis revealed that this pentad sequence is significantly abundant in several genes, including the sraP gene in the S. aureus N315 strain. This gene encodes a serine-rich protein, which is known to play an important role in adhesion of the pathogen to human tissues and thus in endovascular infection. We demonstrated that the sraP mRNA became extremely unstable in comparison with the ompA mRNA only when [MazF.sub.Sa] was induced in E. coli. Further bioinformatics analysis indicated that the pentad sequence is also significantly abundant in the mRNAs for all the pathogenic factors in S. aureus. This observation suggests a possible regulatory relationship between the [MazEF.sub.Sa] TA module and the pathogenicity in S. aureus.
