Vermicompost is the product of organic waste digestion by earthworms besides aerobic decomposition at ambient temperature. It is a rich composition containing plant nutrients and beneficial microorganisms. Some fishes, especially predatory species such as rainbow trout, need nutritive feed so that they can be healthy; a useful and cheaper additive such as vermicompost can supply this aim. In this study, the effect of different percentages of vermicompost in the diet of rainbow trout was investigated. For this purpose, 100 rainbow trout with an average weight of 120±3 g were distributed in 5 groups in concrete tanks. Their nutrition and physical and chemical water parameters were determined according to the standard. Vermicompost with confirmable analysis was added to their daily feed (2, 4, 6, and 10%). After 2 months, the feed conversion ratio and survival rate were examined. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the performance of the control group and the treatment groups (p<0.05). The data obtained from this experiment indicated that the 10% of vermicompost in the diet was more effective. Therefore, the use of vermicompost supplements can be recommended for the cultivation of rainbow trout. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Patient education is important as it gives patients a better understanding of the risks and benefits of medical and surgical interventions. Developing communication technologies have completely changed and enhanced patient access to medical information. The aim of this study was to evaluate available patient education materials (PEMs) regarding hip surgery on the websites of major hip societies and centers. The PEM from 11 selected leading hip centers and societies were evaluated with the following assessment tools: Flesch–Kincaid (FK) readability test, Flesch Reading Ease formula, Literature-Intelligence-Data-Analysis (LIDA) instrument and Discernibility Interpretability Sources Comprehensive Evidence Relevance Noticeable (DISCERN) tool. Videos were assessed using Patient Educational Video Assessment Tool (PEVAT). A total of 69 educational items, including 52 text articles (75.4%) and 17 videos (24.6%) were retrieved and evaluated. The median Interquartile Range (IQR) FK level of 52 text articles was 10.8 (2.2). The median (IQR) LIDA score of text articles by center was 45. According to the LIDA score, 60% of all website articles demonstrated high accessibility (LIDA score > 44). The median DISCERN score of text articles by center was 69. Overall, 52 (100%) of the text articles were deemed to be at 'good' quality rating or higher, and 23.2% (16 out of 69) of the articles had excellent quality. The mean PEVAT score for the 17 videos was 25 ± 1.9. Analysis of text and video articles from the 11 leading orthopedic surgery centers and societies demonstrated that by selecting a reliable source of information from main scientific societies and major centers in hip surgery, patients can find more accurate information regarding their hip conditions. TRACT Studies focusing on the safety and common side effects of vaccines play a crucial role in enhancing public acceptance of vaccination. Research is scarce regarding the usage of COVID-19 vaccines and the side effects experienced by health professions students in India and other countries. This study aimed to document self-reported side effects associated with COVID-19 vaccination among medical and dental students of six medical and dental colleges and teaching hospitals in four states (Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and West Bengal) of India. A cross-sectional survey using purposive sampling of medical and dental students was conducted from 26 April to 26 May 2021. Data was collected using a Google Forms questionnaire capturing information regarding receiving COVID-19 vaccines, side effects and symptoms, onset and duration of symptoms, use of treatment to alleviate symptoms, awareness of haematologic risks associated with vaccination, and side effects from previous (non- COVID-19) vaccinations. The majority (94.5%) of participants received both doses of the Covishield/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Among participants (nD492), 45.3% (nD223) reported one or more side effects. The most frequently reported side effects were soreness of the injected arm (80.3%), tiredness (78.5%), fever (71.3%), headache (64.1%), and hypersomnia (58.7%). The two most common severe symptoms were fever (14.8%) and headache (13%). Most side effects appeared on the day of vaccination: soreness of the injection site (57%), fever (43.1%), and tiredness (42.6%). Most reported symptoms persisted for one to three days_soreness of the injection site (53%), fever (47.1%), and headache (42.6%). Logistic regression showed that women were almost 85% less likely to report side effects. The study's findings corroborate the safety of the Covishield/AstraZeneca vaccine's first dose, evidenced by the relatively minor and transient nature of the side effects. However, the study underscores the necessity for ongoing research to assess the long-term impacts of COVID-19 vaccines, especially in the context of booster doses, thereby contributing to the global understanding of vaccine safety and efficacy. Menstruation-related school absenteeism significantly affects girls' academic progress and general wellbeing. This study aimed to assess menstruation-related school absenteeism in an urban population in the Northern Region of Ghana. A school-based cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence of school absenteeism among girls using a structured questionnaire, which was pretested. The data were analyzed using Stata 16. Descriptive and inferential statistics, including cross-tabulation, the chi-square test, and binary logistic regression, were performed. The majority (59%) was between the ages of 15 and 19 years. Approximately one fifth of all respondents missed school during menstruation. Reasons assigned to missing school were menstrual pains (57%), stained clothes (43%), heavy bleeding (40%), and self-stigmatization (2%). The majority (95%) of respondents used some form of materials to absorb menstrual blood. About 88% of respondents used sanitary pads, 11% used cloth, and 1% used tissues to absorb their menstrual blood. The multivariable analysis showed that school girls < 15 years old (AOR: 3.69, 95% CI: 2.02–6.73), first year of Junior High School (AOR: 4.68, 95% CI: 2.14–10.22), and public school (AOR: 3.57, 95% CI: 1.83–6.94) were associated with increased odds of menstruation-related school absenteeism. Menstruation-related school absenteeism is considered high and could affect girls' educational attainment. Background and Objectives: Menstruation is a natural occurrence marked by the periodic release of endometrial cells within the uterine lining from the female genital area. Menstruation knowledge remains highly essential for young adolescents. Inadequate awareness and understanding of menstruation have far-reaching consequences on the overall wellbeing and health outcomes of young adults worldwide. Adolescent girls make up a large percentage of high school students in Nigeria. Girls in countries with low to middle incomes are frequently misled or uneducated regarding menstruation. Menstrual health literacy (MHL) is the level of knowledge concerning matters related to menstrual health. It is observed that a lack of menstrual health literacy is seen among young adults. This systematic review aimed to examine menstruation literacy, attitudes, and adolescent girls' practices in Nigeria. Materials and Methods: This systematic review included quantitative, cross-sectional, quasi-experimental, and qualitative primary research studies relating to menstruation literacy, attitudes, and practices of adolescents in Nigeria. Articles for this study were searched for on databases such as PubMed and BioMed Central using keywords. These studies were subjected to stringent inclusion and exclusion criteria where the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines were used, and 13 articles were included after critical appraisal. Data extracted were analysed using narrative synthesis. Results: Findings indicated that knowledge regarding menstruation among adolescents (82.6%) was poor. Menstruation information was obtained from mothers, which was positive as some adolescents reported their closeness to their mothers. Regarding attitudes towards menstruation among adolescents, it was reported that more respondents (70.3%) had negative attitudes towards menstruation. Conclusions: Most of the respondents in Nigeria were not adequately prepared for the onset of their first menstrual period. Knowledge and attitude levels were low regarding periods for adolescents. The only exception was their positive attitude towards using water and soap to wash their hands during menstruation. The review shows a significant gap between adolescents' menstruation knowledge and actual hygienic methods during menstruation. The electro-synthesis of poly(aniline-co-para–aminophenol) on graphite electrode was examined using cyclic voltammetry (CV) over the potential window of −0.2 V to 1 V in phosphoric acid medium, which was comprised of potassium chloride and para–Toluene sulfonic acid (pTSA) as electrolyte support. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy was employed to identify the electro-synthesized copolymer while impedance techniques were used to determine charge transfer resistance (Rct) in modified and unmodified electrodes. After this, the electro-catalytic effect of the modified electrode on ascorbic acid was examined using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and a very strong response was observed. A negative shift of about 0.33 V was found in the peak anodic potentials for ascorbic acid. Measurement using DPV indicated a proper response by the electrode to a wide range of ascorbic acid concentrations, from 0.0001 to 0.0004 M. The peak anodic currents for increased concentrations showed a proper linear range.

Opportunistic routing (OR) can greatly increase transmission reliability and network throughput in wireless ad-hoc networks by taking advantage of the broadcast nature of the wireless medium. However, network congestion is a barrier in the way of OR's performance improvement, and network congestion control is a challenge in OR algorithms, because only the pure physical channel conditions of the links are considered in forwarding decisions. This paper proposes a new method to control network congestion in OR, considering three types of parameters, namely, the backlogged traffic, the traffic flows' Quality of Service (QoS) level, and the channel occupancy rate. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the state-of-the-art algorithms in the context of OR congestion control in terms of average throughput, end-to-end delay, and Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR). Due to the higher PDR at different traffic loads and different node densities, it can be concluded that the proposed algorithm also improves network scalability, which is very desirable given the recent changes in wireless networks.
