More specific knowledge about Quality Function Deployment (QFD) has grown rapidly. There are many studies on the application of QFD in various industrial sectors including manufacturing, construction and services. QFD is a tool that can be used to assist companies in improving services by translating consumer desires into the technical characteristics of the company. This study aims to provide a broad understanding and knowledge of the application of QFD in the healthcare industry. The approach used is Systematic Literature Review. This study involves a review study of various papers from wellknown databases related to the implementation of QFD in the healthcare industry. PT. Gansa Furindo Indonesia (GFI) is a company engaged in painting and powder coating services established in 1990. In the process of making such a long and involving painting machine and labor, it does not cover the possibility of work accidents. There are 3 categories of work accidents: minor accidents, moderate accidents, and serious/major accidents. For the 3 crash categories, it is seen how severe the injuries suffered in the work accident. This study aims to determine the steps to prevent and repair work accidents after knowing the categories of work accidents that occur. This research is focused on the production department, especially in the machining area where work accidents occur due to the lack of employee awareness of Health Safety and Environment (HSE). Work accidents include crashing objects with a static state of 108 RPN, contact with the machine while moving when taking the material inside the machine is 196 RPN, short circuit of 160 RPN, reverse mounting of 90 RPN and less neat cutting in the iron cutting of 168 RPN. A large company or industry must be able to overcome and resolve any problems that are being faced or in the future. Given that quality is the main thing that will measure the success of a company. One of the methods used in quality control is Statistical Process Control (SPC). The method to be used for this study is the study of literature. The method used is to review the 2016-2020 research papers that consistently apply the SPC method and have been published. The literature review process in this study combines published and relevant literature meta-analyses to provide some evidence of the effect of the existence of the implementation of the SPC method with several classifications. The classification includes the growth of research publications in the manufacturing sector and other sectors. The results of research literature that have been published from 2015 - 2020 is this research is useful as a basis for developing knowledge, gaps in views, providing evidence of effects, and if done well, has the capacity to be applied as further research ideas. An objective application of the SPC method can result in the elimination of waste as reduce defect and increasing quality and improving process. Six sigma is a methodology which started in manufacturing sector that focuses in reducing the product variation, reducing defect and increasing customer satisfaction. This research is based on literature research to review and observe all the findings, facts and research result around the world regarding to the six sigma implementation. Indonesia's economic growth, which has developed in the last few decades, has contributed to an increase in the automotive industry sector. The automotive industry continues to increase the competitiveness of the automotive industry. The Lean, Agile, Resilient, Green (LARG) approach that has been applied by several global automotive industries, is able to increase competitiveness and performance in a sustainable manner. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the LARG approach in Indonesian automotive, as one of the bases for the automotive industry in Asia. The LARG value index is conducted to determine the level of application in the automotive industry in Indonesia. The mapping of the level of importance and performance of each of the LARG sub indicators was carried out using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The results of this study confirm that there are several LARG sub indicators that have not been implemented properly. Green has the most sub-indicators that need to be improved, namely PG1 (ISO 14000 and OHSAS Certificates), PG2 (Collaboration with suppliers and customers in protecting the environment), PG6 (Carrying out industrial waste recycling), and PG8 (Product design that can reduce consumption of energy and raw materials). Human involvement in the assembly part manufacturing process is still relatively high. However, automation solutions are not flexible enough to be applied to manufacturing systems. It is essential to evaluate each work activity so that automation can be implemented effectively. We developed an automatic vision inspection using machine vision. The level of automation (LoA) in the company increases, and the impact caused by process failures on manual systems can be eliminated during inspection activities. The automation level increase in the inspection area is described and analyzed using the Hierarchy Task Analysis (HTA). Inspection data process activity and quality data are collected to determine the CCD camera selection, lamp selection, and lens selection. Three quality objectives, such as geometric quality, surface quality, and structural quality, are identified automatically using machine vision. Furthermore, after applying machine vision, an analysis of current LoA conditions and future LoA conditions is carried out. The results showed that the application of machine vision could increase the Level of Automation in the product inspection activity by 81.8%. There is a strong correlation (R = 0.924) between manual measurements carried out by operators and machine vision. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The global market demand for automotive wheels with alloy materials is 55%, which is quite high compared to other materials such as steel, magnesium, chromed, and carbon fiber. The high competition of the global alloy wheels market demands to be able to offer quality alloy wheels. The purpose of this research is to reduce the number of defects in the casting process step by using the Define Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC) method. This study shows the systematic approach to find the root cause of major defects in aluminum castings using the defect diagnostic approach as well as cause and effect diagram. Quality improvement using quality tools, namely the Pareto diagram, fishbone diagram. The major defects for the rejections during production were identified as leak defects, porosity motive holes, and oval defects. In determining the proposed quality improvements using the FMEA tool. The results of data processing on the calculation of process capabilities and product performance show improvements after quality improvements in the casting process. Product performance from DPMO = 15.462, sigma level = 3.6 to DPMO = 8.186 and sigma level = 3.9. The effect of decreasing the percentage of defects could save production costs by IDR 413.350.000. Therefore, the application of the DMAIC method can provide a significant improvement in product quality and impact on production cost savings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

High business competition demands business players to improve quality. The Six Sigma with DMAIC phases is a strategy that has proven effective in improving product and service quality. This study aims to find the consistency of DMAIC phases implementation and analyze the objective value in Six Sigma research. By using a number of trusted article sources during 2005 until 2019, this research finds that 72% research in manufacturing industry consistently implemented DMAIC roadmap especially in case study research type for problem-solving, while service industry pointed out the fewer number (60%). The causes of variations and defective products in the manufacturing industry are largely caused by a 4M 1E factor, while in service industry are caused by human behavior, and it's system poorness. Welding and machining processes for Lift Arm Repair in Remanufacturing heavy-duty companies in Indonesia has produced parts according to customer specifications, but the company still has the intention to reduce the level of damage and Cost of Poor Quality. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the application of the Six Sigma method with the DMAIC cycle (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control). Other tools to analyze this problem are the Pareto Diagram and the Cause and Effect Diagram. The level of product defects in the Lift Arm Remanufacturing process is relatively high, namely 73.5% over the past 5 months with the categories of Miss Alignment (68.5%), Porosity (18.9%), Crack (4.5%), Oversize (2.7%) Scratches (2.7%) and Others (2.7%). with a value of 834586.47 DPMO and is at 1.91 sigma with a COPQ of Rp.650,800,000.00. The Six Sigma approach with the DMAIC method is a systematic method that focuses on improving processes. From the DMAIC method, it can be known the factors that cause defect miss alignment and porosity through the cause diagram. After Six Sigma implementation, the level of defective products decreased from 73.5 to 7.03% with an increase in quality from 1.91 to 2.43 Sigma. Finally, we can reduce COPQ from IDR 650,800,000 to IDR 135,000,000 or 66.47% from the previous condition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The purposes of this study are first, to analyze why the process capability index (Cpk) for drop impact resistance (DIR) does not meet the specification or less than 1.33, and second, to find out what improvements should be made to make it meet the specification. Methodology/Approach: The methodology used was Statistical Process Control (SPC) through the PDCA cycle, supporting with Cause and Effect Diagram (CED), Nominal Group Technique (NGT) and "why, what, where, when and how (5W1H)" method. Findings: With the above methods, the result of the study was given a positive impact on the company. The average of DIR was increased from 20.40 cm to 25.76 cm, increased by 26.27% and the standard deviation was reduced from 1.80 to 1.48, and then the Cpk index was increased from 0.48 to 1.79 it means the process is in control and capable. Research Limitation/implication: This research was limited only on the twopiece can aluminum cans manufacturing process, no for three-piece cans manufacturing. SPC through PDCA cycle is an interesting method for continuous improvement of process capability in the cans manufacturing industry. Originality/Value of paper: This study highlights the area of future research SPC through the PDCA cycle to analyze and optimize process capability. The implementation of milk-run in Indonesia has been started since 2005. As a developing country, there is a challenge to operate milk-run smoothly especially in urban area due to severe traffic congestion and unfavourable road condition in some areas. This research aimed to analyze the practice of milk-run operation in one of the biggest Japanese automotive companies in Indonesia. Transportation Value Stream Mapping (TVSM) is applied in order to perform just-in-time delivery in the supply chain before operating milk-run. It is discussed that this company still need to continue in improving milk-run operation. The operation system needs control and integration from manufacturer, supplier and logistics partner.
