The environmental changes are an important consequence of the negative impact of human activity. Companies are focusing more and more on developing sustainable practices, decreasing their waste and carbon emissions. Individuals have started to become more conscious about their consumption behaviors. In the last years, an increased level of spirituality is related with conscious behavior. Spiritual individuals have an enhanced level of empathy thus learning in their spiritual process to care more about the environment and other beings. Although the transformation regarding sustainability is visible, its rhythm is not fast enough to avoid significant damages on the planet. The main cause to this issue might be that consumers are not constant in their responsible behavior. We want to identify if individuals’ behavior is due to the fear of judgement or out of consciousness about the beneficial impact on society. Therefore, we have created a questionnaire and distributed it randomly online on social media groups to discover what motivates individuals towards a sustainable conduct. The purpose of the article is to find out if individuals that pursue spiritual teachings or spirituality have a more sustainable behavior than individuals who do not. Is social media a beneficial source of information with regards to sustainability? This paper is helpful for people and companies who activate in the sustainability field and other related domains.

A more sustainable economy and society presume more sustainable behavior in terms of consumption. A change in this behavior could be brought by a change in demand. In other words, a change in the demand could be facilitated by one’s financial and digital education. The circular economy implies the reuse and recycling of products and materials over and over again; thus, the life cycle of products and materials is extended. Engaging in recycling should have future benefits. Recycling behavior and sustainability are interrelated, the recycling process is viewed as a key issue in sustainability and prevails as pro-environmental consumer behavior. It is already known that significant changes in individual behavior are essential for society to move toward sustainability. This paper aims to explore from a quantitative perspective if digital education has an impact on consumer behavior in terms of sustainability in the era of the circular economy. In the current society, more and more service providers invest in on-line platforms and change their business strategies in order to attract and maintain customers. Social media plays the role of the intermediary between providers and consumers, and strengthens the relationship between them. The fast access to any service and information provided by social networks, result market and competition growth, which leads to quality improvement, lower prices and economy changes. The aim of this paper is to acknowledge the present and future opportunities and challenges, brought up by the relationship between the quality of services and social media, regarding the development of European businesses in the whole service sector, and how the contemporary economy is affected by them. The methodological section of this paper will contain theoretical models concerning quality, social media influence, consumers, relationships sustainability and service providers. This paper is useful for all parties involved in the online business environment, in order to acknowledge in what way and to what extent the European on-line platforms are evaluated, in terms of transparency and credibility. As well as to find out what are the business strategies regarding the quality improvement of services and to what extent they are being implemented.

Nowadays, the use of smartphones has become essential for daily activities that have either a personal or professional purpose. A large number of resources is necessary for both the production and the use of these devices, which means that solutions in terms of sustainability are needed. The purpose of this research is to highlight the concept of sustainability when talking about smartphones, as well to underline the possibilities that exist for the consumers. This study examines the habits of young consumers in Romania, the reasons behind a mobile phone replacement, and the factors that influence the purchase decision. The methodology section follows quantitative and qualitative market research. An analysis was performed in order to have a deep understanding of trends in terms of mobile phone ownership and preferred brands. This study also provides a general view on the neglectfulness of the young population of Romania regarding the dangers to which the environment is exposed because of the purchasing habits that go against sustainability. For accomplishing this purpose, important results have been discovered through the analysis of the data obtained from self-administered questionnaires and interviews. The results show that people are usually using only one mobile phone at a time and they change it once every two years for sustainability and financial reasons. The same applies when it comes to choosing a certain brand. The reasons behind the purchase of a new phone and the decisions regarding an old one are based on healthy principles of the circular economy and sustainability. The preferences in terms of technology and design, and the decision process are correlated with incomes.
