One of the prominent mining companies in Indonesia, PT Vale, have invested in vast corporate social responsibility programs in the fields of environment protection, social livelihood, employment, and economic resilience towards locals in mining areas. However, a common perception held among stakeholders have concluded that PT Vale could display greater care for its social programs, which would incorporate the interests of the community. Utilizing contemporary studies on stakeholder theory, this research provides insights of the mining industry, which have been expressed by vast stakeholders including government and Non-Government Organizations, in relation to aspects to consider before granting mining business licenses in the future. In doing so, it compares social programs between the current mining company (PT Vale) and the past (PT Inco), and determines what practices were favored by interest groups. After the distribution of questionnaires to four mine-affect areas in East Luwu Regency, Indonesia, government elites, community leaders, women figures, indigenous people, fishermen, local contractors and PT Vale employees perceived that in 2023, PT Vale have shown great progress in social, environmental management, and economic conditions compared to past mining companies. However, it founds that locals perceive a major deficiency, which is the low rate of local worker absorptions. This study contributes to the discourse of corporate social responsibility, and reveals community perceptions towards mining companies in affected areas.

The presence of a mining company in an area affects the living conditions of the surrounding community from an environmental, social, and economic perspective. This research aims to contribute to the literature on social perceptions concerning mining company operations by assessing the local societies’ rate of rejection or acceptance of a mining company’s extension of operating permit, along with reasons that justify the decision. We conducted semi-structured interviews with seven interest groups in four sub-districts in East Luwu Regency, comprising 79 participants. This research uses a combination of quantitative data collection and in-depth qualitative interviews to strengthen the sources’ reasons for providing answers. The results show a high rejection rate expressed by communities living in the sub-districts where mining companies operate, alongside a strong preference for extending operating permits for sites that are of greater distance to the smelters. If the business permit is ultimately transferred to the existing company, it may exacerbate community tensions and resistance. In that case, the local community wants several priority improvements, namely, increasing the number of workers working in the factory, further boosting economic growth and empowerment programs carried out in affected areas, and improving post-mining environmental management. Therefore, this study contributes to the discourse of local community perceptions in mining areas, which may affect mining operations in the future.

This study was intended to determine the effect of interaction, self-regulation and course structure on student satisfaction through social presence. This research adopted a quantitative research approach. The sample of this study consisted of 187 higher education students of Economics Education in "Universitas Negeri Semarang" based on the proportional random sampling technique. Data was collected using a questionnaire which was then analysed through the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach using the Smart PLS version 3.0 application. This research concluded that interaction and self-regulation and mediating variables social presence succeeded in influencing student satisfaction. In contrast, the course structure was found not to affect student satisfaction, and social presence failed to mediate self-regulation variables on student satisfaction. It is recommended that lecturers design an interactive learning environment by considering student characteristics. The balance between structure and dialogue was a determining factor for student satisfaction, so the design that was prepared is expected to facilitate students to be actively involved and achieve satisfaction.

Students with academic performance and soft skills should be concerned with the learning process because it is a learning achievement. This research aims to find the factors affecting academic performance and soft skills. In this pandemic, learning is done online, so interaction between students and lecturers becomes limited. The quantitative data are collected by distributing the questionnaires. The population of this study is 2nd-semester students of the Faculty of Economics, "Universitas Negeri Semarang" (UNNES), who use online learning from the beginning of the lecture. The population were 900 students, with a sample of 276 students. Data were tabulated and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results showed that cognitive presence, teaching presence, and social presence positively and significantly (57.9%) affect students' academic performance, and 49.1% affect students' soft skills. The order of factors that most affect academic performance is teaching presence (41.4%), social presence (31.1%), and cognitive presence (11.7%) whereas the order of factors that most affect soft skills is social presence (48.9%), cognitive presence (11.7%), and teaching presence (11.1%). It means that the Community of Inquiry (CoI) theory can explain the magnitude of the factors on academic performance and soft skills in the good category. It is suggested that the related parties to support students to achieve better academic performance and soft skills.

The development of a mobile-based e-commerce application aims to assist MSMEs, particularly New Delisio Bakery Cake, in optimizing their online sales and expanding market reach. Currently, New Delisio operates using conventional methods that limit its customer base and overall sales potential. To address this challenge, the application was developed following the waterfall methodology, encompassing requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. The front-end was built using React Native, while the back-end utilized Express.js and MongoDB. A user testing phase was conducted with a sample group, providing valuable feedback on usability and functionality. The application offers a user-friendly platform for customers to browse and purchase products, while enabling the business to efficiently manage operations. The test results showed a high overall success rate of 92.52%, with 91.11% success for user interactions and 100% for admin tasks. This demonstrates the application's effectiveness in enhancing usability and functionality. By leveraging modern mobile technology, the solution enhances the store's visibility, engagement, and scalability, potentially increasing revenue. This research demonstrates the potential for MSMEs to transition into the digital market through a structured development process and iterative improvements.

This research investigates the mechanical behavior and performance of AH32 steel when subjected to low temperatures, particularly in the context of ship hull structures operating in cryogenic environments. The study uses experimental procedures and advanced numerical simulations through ABAQUS CAE to evaluate vital mechanical properties such as Young’s modulus, yield stress, ultimate tensile strength, and fracture toughness across temperatures ranging from 20 to −160°C. The results reveal a consistent trend of increasing strength and decreasing ductility at lower temperatures, with validation achieved through an error margin of less than 10%. The findings underscore the material’s suitability for cryogenic applications but highlight the potential for brittle fracture, necessitating careful design considerations in Arctic or liquefied natural gas transport conditions. However, the study is limited to specific geometric configurations and loading conditions, suggesting that future research should explore additional geometries, fatigue behavior, and long-term performance under varying environmental conditions to assess the material’s viability in extreme environments fully.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The car wash industry has grown rapidly globally, spurred by increasing vehicle ownership and demand for convenient services. However, this sector is linked to environmental challenges, including excessive water consumption, chemical runoff, and high energy use. This is the first life cycle assessment to assess the environmental impact of vehicle wash services in Indonesia, focusing on water usage, chemical discharge, energy consumption, and waste creation in car wash operations.METHODS: The life cycle assessment method was employed to assess three stages of car wash processes including wet processing, dry processing, and chemical usage from water supply to waste management. The functional unit, defined as the washing of a single vehicle, serves as the reference point for data inventory and impact assessments. A sensitivity study was performed to evaluate the robustness of the results by analysing the impact of fluctuating electricity consumption.FINDINGS: The result showed that automated car wash systems consume between 150-190 liters of water per wash, while manual services use approximately 100-120 liters. Chemical runoff, including detergents, surfactants, and heavy metals, poses a significant threat to aquatic ecosystems, especially in areas with inadequate wastewater treatment infrastructure. Energy consumption, driven by the use of high pressure pumps and dryers, contributes substantially to greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel depletion. Sensitivity analysis indicates that energy consumption is a key driver of environmental impact, particularly in regions relying on coal-based power grids. The study further explores mitigation strategies such as water recycling systems, the adoption of biodegradable detergents, and the integration of renewable energy sources into car wash operations. These practices are shown to reduce water usage by up to 60 percent decrease chemical runoff, and cut energy related emissions by approximately 30 percent.CONCLUSION: The findings underscore the need for regulatory reforms and industry wide adoption of sustainable practices to minimize the environmental footprint of car wash services. This study contributes new insights into the sustainability of this growing industry and offers actionable recommendations for reducing its ecological impact.

The 0.6% contribution of the forestry sector to GDP is considered very low despite 64.1% of Indonesia's land area being allocated as forests. Most of the 64.8% production forest allocated is not yet optimized for strengthening national food security, in which Indonesia is ranked 65th in the world. Therefore, an innovative forest management system is needed to synergize timber and non-timber production. This paper presents a multi-business forestry (Mb-F) implementation strategy analyzed through a dynamic system-based multi-criterion decision-making tool named Super Model Mb-F (SM Mb-F). SM Mb-F is built based on a causal loop diagram (CLD), which describes the dynamic relationship between land typology suitability and decisions related to the type of business, commodities, land use area, workload, and financing for many variables relating to 5M business principles and sustainability. Results showed that CLD formulated in 280 sub-models in a total of 4,764 decision variables with an error deviation of 6.4%. The SM Mb-F simulation on two sample concession units produces a projected increase in wood supply, employment, and state revenue, plus the provision of new functions such as food, NTFP, and environmental services. These benefits are obtained by business feasibility. Assuming that gradually until 2030, the Mb-F can be implemented in 32% of Indonesia's production forests, then by 2045, it is projected that there will be an increase in wood production by 296.8%, state revenue by 654.3%, and labor absorption by 985.7%, as well as adding food production up to 19.36 M tons. This is because the land use efficiency of the current operation of forest concessions following the Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) under the selective cutting and replanting system in Indonesia (TPTI) is only about 3% of the total area of forest concession. Assuming the cutting cycle is 35 years, timber could be extracted in 1/35 of the total forest concession area. Implementing Mb-F will significantly improve the land use efficiency from about 3% to 90%. The Mb-F will also restrain the rate of decline in carbon stocks, which is deeper if governance is still under the BAU scenario. This research suggests further global research, emphasizing the importance of innovative models for sustainable forestry governance and food security worldwide.

The purpose of this research is to examine the role of positive law and customary law in protecting indigenous peoples' rights to land literation and natural resources and their impact on community welfare. The research method used is normative legal studies. Customary law is focused on the customary law of the Tobaru tribe. The Tobaru tribe is one of the well-known tribes in Indonesia, which is famous for its land rights law ("Tola Gumi"). The study results reveal that the regulations of the central government and the regional government of North Maluku have not guaranteed the implementation of legal protection and the welfare of indigenous peoples, especially for the Tobaru tribe. This is also evidenced by the fact that the regional government has not implemented the Constitutional Court Decision in the North Maluku region. This legal review shows that three of the five pillars of the state, namely protection of human rights, social justice, and antidiscrimination, have not been implemented properly. Indigenous people are very dependent on land as their main source of livelihood for farming. Weak legal protections, such as the absence of land titles, make them vulnerable to social conflicts and lose their customary land rights. This research implies that it is hoped that the government will provide consistent legal protection for the welfare of indigenous peoples. Researchers encourage future studies related to learning about the rights of indigenous peoples in terms of the international legal system.

Trust in others is shown when an individual is prepared to prioritize their well-being without considering potential risks, driven by their unwavering belief in the moral integrity of others. The research investigates the degree of trust between students and teachers in English language instruction. It examines the underlying factors contributing to this trust and investigate the strategies teachers and students use to establish trust. The researcher used a mixed methods approach by integrating questionnaires and interviews to gather data for this study. The surveys were provided to 265 students using convenient sampling, while the interviews were purposefully conducted with ten lecturers and 18 students. The researcher used descriptive statistics to analyze the data obtained from the questionnaire. Given that 63.7 % of students express trust in their instructors, the findings suggest that the degree of trust between students and professors is typically positive in the context of university-level English instruction. The interview data were examined using open, axial, and selective coding techniques. The study's findings indicate a reciprocal trust between students and teachers, with students demonstrating a solid foundation for this trust. Cooperative learning has been widely utilized as an intervention to enhance intergroup relations in diverse societies, drawing on intergroup contact theory. Despite numerous field experiments testing its effectiveness in educational contexts, a comprehensive meta-analyses evaluating its overall efficacy has yet to be conducted. This meta-analysis aims to assess the magnitude of the effect of cooperative learning on promoting intergroup relations within experimental field studies conducted in educational settings. The article search was performed according to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria across ERIC, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and SpringerLink. Data analysis involved generating forest plots, conducting heterogeneity tests, calculating summary effects using a random effects model, and identifying publication bias. The meta-analysis of 18 field experimental intervention studies, involving 5265 participants, revealed that cooperative learning intervention programs positively impact intergroup relations, with a moderate effect size (ES = 0.33; 95% CI [0.25, 0.40]). Consequently, cooperative learning can be employed as an alternative strategy to bridge gaps, reduce prejudice, and improve relations among groups with diverse social identities in educational settings.

Covid-19 global pandemic has extensively affected various dimensions in life and changed socioeconomic behavior in society. In line with this, the tremendous growth of digital technology has brought about a positive influence on social education and "muamalah" (literally "transaction") activities due to, indirectly, the enactment of large-scale social restriction policy (LSSR) in the capital city of Indonesia: Jakarta. Consequently, digital transaction has increased immensely as digital technology ensures more safety and effectiveness. Furthermore, the policy has created new perspectives in social education towards the use of digital technology and societies are prompted to learn how to use it. Learning from the background, the authors employ the risk-need-responsive model (RNR model) and conditional approach in this study as a conceptual framework to reveal the impact of "Muamalah" social education on digital payments for corruption prevention for public services in Indonesia. In addition, quantitative research design is also applied in this study by distributing questionnaires to as many as 300 respondents in Jakarta randomly chosen as a sample. This study revealed that they were influenced by LSSR. Data collection techniques are questionnaires combined with literature studies. This research has a novelty as it attempts to fill the impact of "Muamalah" social education on digital payments for corruption prevention and is derived from people's responsiveness affected by Covid-19. The results revealed that although people were forced to use digital payments due to emergency conditions, in fact, social education has brought about major changes in social dynamics. The impact of "Muamalah" social education on digital payments has improved individual cognitive learning abilities, demonstrated more wise actions and changed social behavior for better life. Furthermore, the impact of "Muamalah" social education on the use of digital payments in preventing corruption or digital anti-corruption likely minimizes corrupt practices in the public service sector. This research is likely a useful reference for stakeholders, especially the government, as a blueprint for preventing corruption by considering aspects of social education and the growing "Muamalah" principle of digital payments in society.

This research is descriptive research that is conducted by quantitative approach to find out the validity and reliability of an instrument. The population in this research is all active college students at the State University of Semarang in nine faculties, taking sample is conducted by probability-sampling that means all population has the same chance to be a research subject. The number of samples in this research is 300 of people. The technique of data analysis on the validity verification in this research used Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) technique. Meanwhile, for the estimation of reliability, the researcher used the formula of Cronbach’s Alpha. The data analysis is supported by JAMOVI program. The result of research shows that a) the instrument of digital skill literacy has fulfilled the criteria of goodness of fit with the result; 1) x2 = 162 dan df = 143; 2) p-value = 0,133; 3) RMSEA 0,021; 4) SRMR = 0,026; 5) and CFI = 0,99; b) the result of CFA shows 20 items that is divided by the indicator such as functional skill beyond, creativity, collaboration, communication, the ability to find select information, critical thinking and evaluation, cultural and social understanding, E-Safety have fulfilled valid criteria with the average score of loading factor is 0.80. c) the reliability of literacy digital skill instrument shows the estimation value which is 0.943 or very reliable.

Natural gas is the cleanest energy source compared to other fossil fuels. When the temperature is between −160 ºC to −164 ºC at atmospheric pressure, natural gas will be in liquid form, commonly called Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). Currently, the demand for the availability of natural gas is increasing rapidly. However, not all countries have natural gas reserves. In this case, ships transport Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) between continents and oceans to meet global needs. Since the Northern Sea Route (NSR) was opened, the route has become an alternative route where ships can save fuel because the distance is closer than the standard route (through the Suez Canal). However, because this route is in the Arctic region, which has a harsh environment, the ship may experience a structural failure, resulting in an accident and possibly causing material, human or other casualties. This paper employed the finite element method to observe the materials used as raw materials for the structure of natural gas shipping vessels. High tensile steel grade AH 32 was tested for tensile using numerical analysis. The temperature varied from room to shallow temperature (−160 ºC). Besides that, the mesh sizes used were 1 mm, 2 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm to produce outcomes that are most similar to earlier research assessed via experimental testing. The result obtained was that the mechanical properties of AH 32 steel will change significantly at shallow temperatures, which can be observed from the engineering stress–strain graph. High tensile steel grade AH 32 becomes very brittle at −160 ºC. Besides that, the necking phenomenon, as in the experimental test, can also be observed through numerical analysis.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on various sectors including small medium enterprise. One of the small medium enterprises affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is Batik Papringan in Banyumas Regency. The decline in income due to the pandemic caused batik to experience a decline in performance. The decline in performance also had an impact on the amount of batik and the income generated. Aims: to determine the factors related to the performance of Batik Papringan Workers in Banyumas Regency. Methods: The research was conducted with a sample of 48 batik workers. The instrument is questionnaire. The questionnaire in this research is a self-developed questionnaire which was developed from a validated and reliable questionnaire. The analysis was performed using chi-square to examine the relationship between the 2 variables and logistic regression to determine the factors most associated with performance. Result: The results showed that in the bivariate test, age and work satisfaction were factors related to performance, while in the multivariate test the most related factors were work satisfaction. The p value of the relationship between work satisfaction and performance is 0.049. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study work satisfaction is the factor most related to the performance of batik makers that needs to be improved. The solution that can be done is to apply strategies and tricks in marketing batik products to consumers so that consumers are more interested in buying batik. The more batik is sold, the more worker satisfaction increases.

Research has been carried out on the utilization of biomass waste of coconut trunk sawdust using the pyrolysis method to produce two products simultaneously, namely charcoal and liquid smoke. In order to obtain charcoal products with optimum calorific value, it is necessary to understand the optimum pyrolysis conditions. One of the optimum conditions, namely pyrolysis temperature, was studied in this research. Pyrolysis was carried out in a simultaneous pyrolysis reactor at a flow rate of argon inert gas into the reactor of 2 liters/minute and a pyrolysis time of 2.5 hours with pyrolysis temperature variations of 350, 400, 450, and 500°C, respectively. The study showed that the optimum temperature of 400oC was obtained which gave a yield of 34% charcoal with a calorific value of 7229 kcal/kg. Compared to the calorific value of the raw material for coconut sawdust which is 4400 kcal/kg, there was an increase in the calorific value of the pyrolysis product by 64%. Based on the optimum temperature condition, liquid smoke as a by-product was also obtained with a yield of 45%. Charcoal can be used as a solid fuel or as a bioadsorbent in the treatment of liquid waste or clarification of liquid food products such as virgin coconut oil (VCO). Grade 3 liquid smoke can be used as a biopesticide, while grade 1 liquid smoke can be used as a food preservative. Given the benefits of the two pyrolysis products, both of the products from the current research have a promising market value.

Used cooking oil can disturb health if used continues, and the waste can damage of environment if discarded, therefore prevention is needed through processing (recycling) of used cooking oil to economic products, for example, hand soap. This research was the manufacture of hand soap using the waste of cooking oil, olive oil, and KOH as raw materials. The aim is to determine formulations of raw materials on good hand soap on organoleptic tests, pH, microbial inhibitory zones, humidity and irritation levels, and foam height. The formulations between used cooking oil and olive oil are F1 (125 g and 125 g), F2 (150 g and 100 g), F3 (175 g and 75 g), and F4 (200 g and 50 g). This study begins with the manufacture of hand soap using the experimental method, continued by testing the inhibiting zone of growth of Propionibacterium acne bacteria, moisture content, irritation level, foam height through descriptive tests with analytical observational, organoleptic, and pH. Results are all formulas of hand soap have strong effectiveness in inhibiting microbe growth, distinctive organoleptic, moisturizing, and anti-irritation. The foam height has met with SNI 06-4085-1996, however, the pH value has larger than the pH of SNI 06-4085-1966. The best hand soap preparation is Formula 1 (F1) because it has a pH value that is close to the pH value of SNI.

Tilapia is one of the commodities favored by the community and is widely cultivated in Indonesia. At this time, the development of tilapia cultivation has entered the location of marine and brackish waters, known as saline tilapia. The increase in tilapia cultivation has increased feed production, so the price of raw materials, especially fish oil, has increased. The source of crude fat that is usually used in feed formulations is fish oil, but the availability of fish oil is limited, so the price is increasing. One of the alternatives that can replace fish oil is maggot oil. Maggot contains 42-48% lipids. The purpose of this study is to find the effect of giving maggot oil on the growth and survival of saline tilapia. The method used was experimental, with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and three replications. The treatments tested were treatment A (control), B (1.5 ml of maggot oil), C (2 ml of maggot oil), D (2.5 ml of maggot oil)) on 100 grams of feed. The saline tilapia used was 1.4-1.9 grams/head. The fish were reared for 30 days in 15-liter volume containers, ten fish density, and were fed three times a day. The results showed that fish oil substitution using maggot oil (H. illucens) significantly affected FUE, SGR, absolute weight, FCR, and SR of saline tilapia. The best dose of maggot oil was found in treatment B with a dose of 1.5 ml/100 grams of feed capable of producing FUE (88.78±3.80%), SGR (7.98±0.23%/day), absolute weight (41 .17± 4.57gram), FCR (1.13±0.05), and SR (100±0.00%). Context: Edentulism is a global health burden with long-life disabilities. Dental implant procedures are frequently constrained to alveolar residual ridge resorption. The resorption is strongly correlated with an imbalance of osteoblast-osteoclast activities. Estrogen well established maintain bone homeostasis. Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) is a promising drug candidate to promote estrogenic activity and resist residual ridge resorption. Aims: To evaluate the drug-likeness, pharmacokinetic, toxicity as well as molecular interaction prediction between T. foenum-graecum metabolite compounds and estrogen receptor-α (ESRα)/estrogen receptor-ß (ESRß). Methods: The drug-likeness was evaluated using Lipinski’s rule of five. A web server (PkCSM) was used to predict the pharmacokinetics and toxicity. The metabolites were retrieved from the Kanaya database. The biological activity prediction was performed using PASS Online. The ligands’ structures were downloaded from PubChem National Centre for Biotechnology Information database. Proteins were obtained from Protein Data Bank. Molecular docking prediction was carried out using PyRx software and visualized using Discovery Studio Software. Results: Quercetin, naringenin, luteolin, and kaempferol displayed the highest biological activity of estrogen agonist, anti-inflammatory, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) expression inhibitor. Four metabolites exhibited the potential to be developed as oral drugs with good absorption in gastrointestinal, moderate tissue distribution, and safe for liver tissue. Quercetin and kaempferol showed the most negative value of binding affinity. Quercetin formed three hydrogen bonds and eight hydrophobic bonds with ESRα. Luteolin had three hydrogen bonds and five hydrophobic bonds on ESRβ. Conclusions: Metabolites present in T. foenum-graecum, like quercetin, naringenin, luteolin, and kaempferol, were potential drug candidates that could act as estrogen agonists to inhibit the dental residual ridge resorption.

Abstract Making responsible lending decisions involves many factors. There is a growing amount of research on machine learning applied to credit risk evaluation. This promises to enhance diversity in lending without impacting the quality of the credit available by using data on previous lending decisions and their outcomes. However, often the most accurate machine learning methods predict in ways that are not transparent to human domain experts. A consequence is increasing regulation in jurisdictions across the world requiring automated decisions to be explainable. Before the emergence of data-driven technologies lending decisions were based on human expertise, so explainable lending decisions can, in principle, be assessed by human domain experts to ensure they are fair and ethical. In this study we hypothesised that human expertise may be used to overcome the limitations of inadequate data. Using benchmark data, we investigated using machine learning on a small training set and then correcting errors in the training data with human expertise applied through Ripple-Down Rules. We found that the resulting combined model not only performed equivalently to a model learned from a large set of training data, but that the human expert’s rules also improved the decision making of the latter model. The approach is general, and can be used not only to improve the appropriateness of lending decisions, but also potentially to improve responsible decision making in any domain where machine learning training data is limited in quantity or quality.

As climate change continues to cause more frequent weather shocks such as droughts and floods and increasingly erratic rainfall, people in developing regions are threatened by crop failures and hunger. In this study, the researchers describe how climate change influences food security in Central Java, seen from the frequency of floods, rainfall, and rainy days. This study also added another variable, i.e., economic growth, reviewed through GRDP and the amount of rice production. Using the Common effect model, the study results revealed that rainy days and population were the variables significantly influencing food security in cities/regencies in Central Java Province. Meanwhile, two other variables, i.e., rainfall and GRDP, had no significant effect on food security in cities/regencies in Central Java Province.

Jailolo, the capital of West Halmahera Regency, faces earthquake risks due to its proximity to a Jailolo volcano and a double subduction zone in Eastern Indonesia. This study is aimed at investigating the seismic hazard characteristics in Jailolo through the analysis of statistic and signal parameters. Analyzing seismic hazard characteristics in this region is crucial for assessing earthquake risks and understanding how local soil conditions influence ground shaking. Earthquake catalogs from several databases spanning from 1970 to 2018 were utilized. Additionally, 40 locations around Jailolo were surveyed using a short-period seismometer to gather microtremor data. The earthquake catalogs underwent b value analysis using the maximum likelihood method, while microtremor data were examined for f0 and A0 using the horizontal-to-vertical spectrum ratio (HVSR) method. VS30 profiles were derived using the H/V curve inversion method. The b value characterizes earthquake size distribution, HVSR evaluates ground properties, especially the shallow subsurface, and VS30 represents the time-averaged shear wave velocity in the upper 30 m of the Earth’s surface. The findings revealed the average b value around Jailolo is 1.36 with a 15% deviation, categorizing the area as earthquake prone and volcanic. The values of f0 and A0 ranged from 0.536 to 2.44 Hz and 8.97 to 21.2, respectively. The results of f0 and A0 suggested that the Jailolo area is predominantly characterized by thick sediment. The H/V curve analysis provided a VS30 profile ranging from 109 to 460 m/s, indicating that the area is dominated by sediment consisting of stiff soil, very dense soil, and soft rock. In conclusion, Jailolo is highly prone to earthquakes due to its seismic and volcanic activity, supported by soil characteristics that can amplify seismic waves and increase ground shaking intensity during earthquakes. These findings stress the need for long-term seismic monitoring and community involvement to mitigate seismic risks.

Waste management is a global concern with significant environmental and socio-economic impacts. In Indonesia, particularly in Serang City, challenges in waste processing are prevalent. This study explores the characteristics of waste and potential valorization strategies at the Cilowong disposal site. It involves sampling, physical and chemical composition testing, and nutrient content analysis. The waste density analysis reveals consistent values similar to other regional landfills. Fractionation indicates that materials under 10 mm have higher densities than those over 10 mm, with plastics dominating the larger fraction. Specifically, materials over 10 mm account for 59.88%, while those under 10 mm comprise 40.12%. The composition analysis highlights a high proportion of unsorted residual waste and plastics, with compost and biowaste showing decomposition. Notably, challenges in meeting standards for Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) and compost quality highlight the necessity for pretreatment. The caloric value of the waste is 2,158 Kcal/kg, with a moisture content of 42.45% and ash content of 56.21%. Despite these values, the waste from Cilowong shows potential for RDF production and waste-to-energy applications. However, 1 mg/kg mercury contamination in compost raises concerns about its suitability for food crops. The fine fraction from landfill mining could serve alternative purposes, such as soil cover and environmental remediation. Introduction: Discrimination against women from Indigenous Peoples in various ways of life including in the formation of national laws. This is due to the presence of a patriarchal culture which is reflected in laws and regulations both at the national and regional levels, thus showing injustice and inequality between men and women. Purposes of the Research: The purpose of this writing is to explain the importance of the participation of indigenous and tribal women in the formation of national law. The importance of this participation will contribute to the thought of a legal substance that provides equality and justice Methods of the Research: This paper uses doctrinal research methods using a feminist legal theory approach. Results of the Research: The results and findings in this paper include, First, the voices and experiences of indigenous and tribal women are required in feminist legal theory to influence non-discriminatory legal norms in the formation of national law. Second, the participation of indigenous and tribal women as part of the Indonesian nation has a strategic position guaranteed by the constitution to carry out their role in forming national law. This is a prerequisite and a representation of the realization of democratic government and one of the other principles of good governance that is consistent and committed to prioritizing the interests of the nation and the State.

Konstruksi merupakan salah satu sektor yang secara signifikan mendukung Produk Domestik Bruto (PDB) di Indonesia. Aktivitas konstruksi di Indonesia meningkat seiring dengan besarnya volume pembangunan infrastruktur. Tingginya aktivitas konstruksi otomatis berdampak pada kebutuhan kinerja proyek, tidak terkecuali terkait kinerja keselamatan konstruksinya. Faktor utama pembentuk kinerja keselamatan konstruksi adalah budaya keselamatan. Indonesia saat ini belum mencapai budaya keselamatan pada tingkat yang tertinggi. Untuk mencapai budaya keselamatan dengan tingkatan tertinggi, penyelenggara konstruksi di Indonesia perlu memenuhi beberapa langkah yang diukur melalui leading indicator (langkah proaktif dan preventif) dan lagging indicator (langkah reaktif dan korektif). Artikel ini memiliki tiga tujuan mendasar sebagai berikut: 1) mengidentifikasi seluruh indikator keselamatan konstruksi melalui pendekatan leading indicators dan lagging indicators; 2) menganalisis tingkat urgensi setiap indikator; dan 3) menganalisis hubungan indikator dengan peningkatan budaya keselamatan konstruksi Indonesia. Studi literatur, Desk Research dan Relative Importance Index (RII) menjadi salah satu metode dalam menemukan indikator yang dibutuhkan dan menganalisis tingkat urgensinya. Terdapat total 9 leading indicator dan 2 lagging indicator yang merupakan ukuran dalam meningkatkan budaya keselamatan konstruksi di Indonesia. Jumlah kecelakaan kerja merupakan indikator terpenting dalam menggambarkan kinerja keselamatan. Sementara itu, rutinitas toolbox talks di proyek konstruksi merupakan indikator dengan tingkat urgensi terendah apabila budaya pelaksanaannya masih bersifat normatif. Seluruh indikator digunakan untuk menggambarkan keberhasilan pemenuhan langkah-langkah peningkatan budaya keselamatan yang meliputi: 1) penerapan reward dan punishment; 2) membentuk lembaga khusus untuk pengawasan K3; 3) melakukan evaluasi kinerja K3 secara rutin; dan 4) penerapan manajemen risiko.
