Consecutive Argo float profiles are used to observe upper ocean changes resulting from the passage of tropical cyclones (TCs) in the South Pacific between 2001 and 2023. Cross‐sectional composites of the ocean response are produced by normalizing the distance between the profile and cyclone track by the 34‐ knot wind radius (R34) of each TC to better resolve the average changes in water properties. Surface cooling in the initial mixed layer (ML) extends from the center to about twice R34 and is stronger to the left of the TC track. Subsurface warming at the base of the ML is observed between 0.4 and 2 R34 on both sides of the track. Strong cooling is observed in a distinct core directly under the TC path, reaching temperature changes of over − 1.6°C between 70 and 450 m depth. Significant upwelling of over 40 m displacement is observed within ±0.05 R34, extending to 1,000 m depth. Surface cooling (and subsurface warming at the base of the ML) are positively correlated with wind stress on the ocean from the TC, quantified by the Local Wind Power Dissipation (PDL), and negatively correlated with the energy required to destratify the upper ocean, defined by a Cooling Inhibition index (CI). Subsurface warming is common with low CI but is not observed with high CI. We demonstrate an improved method to analyze Argo float data for measuring TC‐upper ocean interaction in remote oceans and the usefulness of PDL and CI in calibrating the TC‐ocean interaction. Chronic mucosal inflammation is associated with a greater risk of gastric cancer (GC) and, therefore, requires tight control by suppressive counter mechanisms. Gastrokine-2 (GKN2) belongs to a family of secreted proteins expressed within normal gastric mucosal cells. GKN2 expression is frequently lost during GC progression, suggesting an inhibitory role; however, a causal link remains unsubstantiated. Here, we developed Gkn2 knockout and transgenic overexpressing mice to investigate the functional impact of GKN2 loss in GC pathogenesis. In mouse models of GC, decreased GKN2 expression correlated with gastric pathology that paralleled human GC progression. At baseline, Gkn2 knockout mice exhibited defective gastric epithelial differentiation but not malignant progression. Conversely, Gkn2 knockout in the IL-11/STAT3-dependent [gp130.sup.F/F] GC model caused tumorigenesis of the proximal stomach. Additionally, gastric immunopathology was accelerated in Helicobacter pylori-infected Gkn2 knockout mice and was associated with augmented T helper cell type 1 (Th1) but not Th17 immunity. Heightened Th1 responses in Gkn2 knockout mice were linked to deregulated mucosal innate immunity and impaired myeloidderived suppressor cell activation. Finally, transgenic overexpression of human gastrokines (GKNs) attenuated gastric tumor growth in [gp130.sup.F/F] mice. The correlation of global ocean surface temperatures with ocean heat content (OHC) at interannual to decadal time scales shows wind‐driven ocean circulation plays a fundamental role in the Earth's energy balance. Wind‐driven baroclinic Rossby waves contribute to the adjustment of the ocean circulation to the winds modulating OHC at mid‐latitudes. Here we use observational records, a reanalysis and a Rossby wave model to quantify the contribution of the waves to the variations in air‐sea heat flux. We find that Rossby waves crossing the South Pacific at 35°S can explain up to 70% of the interannual variance of the heat flux. The heat exchange attributed to the waves, ranging from −9 to 21 W m−2, has contributed to the multi‐year increase in heat in the central Pacific. Heat fluxes due to Rossby waves could be forecast to provide predictability of this component of the heat exchange with the atmosphere. Plain Language Summary: The interaction between heat stored in the ocean and the exchange of heat between the ocean and atmosphere is critical in the redistribution of heat in the climate system. Wind‐driven oceanic Rossby waves are planetary‐scale waves that propagate westward across ocean basins and modulate heat stored in the ocean. However, it is unclear how much of that ocean heat content modulated by the waves is transferred to the atmosphere. Here, we use data and a theoretical model to quantify the heat exchange with the atmosphere brought about by the Rossby waves in the South Pacific Ocean. We find that the Rossby waves at 35°S can explain up to 70% of year‐to‐year variance in the heat flux after the seasonal cycle is removed. The heat flux averaged along the phase of the waves ranges between −9 and 21 W m−2 and has contributed to the multi‐year increase in heat in the central Pacific linked to the Chilean mega‐drought. Fathers have often been misrepresented in studies evaluating the father's role and the father's relationship to his children, due to being evaluated by theories that were originally intended to study the relationship between mothers and children. The current study evaluates fathers' differentiation and identity status as predictors of their attachment to their children. We used structural equation modeling and multiple regression to evaluate the relationships among the variables. We found that differentiation predicted identity status but that neither differentiation nor identity status predicted attachment. Further, commitment significantly predicted parent attachment, relationship avoidance, and relationship anxiety, whereas crisis significantly predicted only relationship avoidance. The implications of these results for therapists are discussed.
