The influence of attractive term of interaction potential on heat capacities (Cp, Cv) and sound speed of real gases An Kr and Xe is investigated. Two different potential models were introduced and the second vii·ial coefficient of the potentials was analytically determined. The introduced potentials include different attractive terms. By using the two potential models, we have determined heat capacitie's at constant pressure and volume and speed of sound of aforementioned gases. Our obtained data have been compared with available results. The obtained data show that the potential attractive term has a key role in determining the thermodynamic functions of the gases. It is revealed that the obtained heat capacities by using both potentials are in good agreement with experimental data. But, the obtained results by potential model (1) have more agreements with experimental data. The speed of' sound of Ar determined by model (1) at high pressure and temperatures are in good agreement with available data. The sound speed of Kr computed by the model (2) at high temperatures and low pressure has good agreement with experimental data. Finally, sound velocity of Xe determined by the model (2) at high temperatures and pressures gives more agreement in comparison with available data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper represents an overview of three types of FACTS devices configurations, categorized by series, shunt and series-shunt consisting of TCSC, SVC and UPFC. Such devices are the most famous Flexible AC Transmission System devices in the world. In the first section features of the devices are introduced briefly, and in the next section control schemes of each are classified and reviewed for three control functions of power system such as steady state stability, transient stability and power oscillation stability. Simultaneous effects of spin-spin and spin-orbit interactions on the energy spectrum of a two-electron spherical quantum dot with parabolic confinement and under the influence of external electric and magnetic fields are investigated. We have calculated energy eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the system for different spin states. Results show that effects of spin-spin interactions are negligible in comparison with those of the spin-orbit interactions. Spin-orbit interaction splits energy levels and removes degeneracy of different spin states. Moreover it is seen that energy eigenvalues and levels splitting strongly depend on the external magnetic field and the dot dimensions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Simultaneous effects of hydrogenic impurity, hydrostatic pressure, temperature and external electric and magnetic fields on the intersubband optical rectification coefficient of a two-dimensional parabolic quantum dot are studied. Energy eigenvalues and eigenvectors are calculated using the direct matrix diagonalization method and optical rectification coefficient is obtained via the compact density matrix approach. The results indicate that the optical rectification coefficient is affected by the hydrogenic impurity, hydrostatic pressure, temperature and external fields. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
