The control group consisted of 120 healthy individuals. Polymorphisms IL-6 − 174 G/C and IL-6R Asp358Ala were genotyped using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification employing LightSNiP assays.Results: A significant association between the IL-6 − 174 CC genotype and an improved clinical outcome of MTX therapy was observed. A good response was more frequently observed among PsA patients bearing the IL-6 − 174 CC genotype than patients with the GC or GG genotypes (P = 0.007). On the other hand, patients carrying the IL-6 − 174 GC genotype less frequently responded to MTX treatment as compared to patients with other genotypes (P = 0.006). With respect to the IL-6R Asp358Ala SNP, there were no significant differences in genotype and allelic frequencies in relation to clinical outcome of MTX treatment. No association was found between the IL-6 − 174 G/C or IL-6R Asp358Ala SNPs and PsA susceptibility.Conclusion: Results from this study provide evidence that the IL-6 − 174 G/C polymorphism might influence efficacy of MTX treatment.Keywords: psoriatic arthritis, methotrexate treatment, IL-6 − 174G/C polymorphism, IL-6R Asp358Ala polymorphism

Abstract Introduction In ORAL Surveillance, incidence rates (IRs) of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and malignancies (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer [NMSC]) in cardiovascular (CV)-risk-enriched patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) were numerically greater with tofacitinib in North America versus the rest of the world, due to underlying risk factors. Here, we evaluated the safety and efficacy of tofacitinib versus tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi) among patients with RA across geographical regions. Methods Patients with RA in ORAL Surveillance (NCT02092467), who were aged ≥ 50 years with ≥ 1 additional CV risk factor, received tofacitinib 5 or 10 mg twice daily or TNFi; 45.9% were from either Poland or North America. This post hoc analysis stratified patients by region (Poland, North America, Other countries). Efficacy endpoints included Clinical Disease Activity Index, Disease Activity Score in 28 joints, with C-reactive protein (DAS28-4[CRP]), and Health Assessment Questionnaire-Disability Index (HAQ-DI). IRs and hazard ratios for adverse events were reported. Results Of 4362 patients (Poland, N = 759; North America, N = 1243; Other countries, N = 2360), more patients from North America versus Poland/Other countries had CV risk factors such as body mass index ≥ 30 kg/m2 and history of diabetes/hypertension; however, more patients from Poland versus other regions were ever smokers and more patients from Poland/North America versus Other countries had history of coronary artery disease. MACE IRs were similar in North America and Poland, and numerically higher versus Other countries. IRs for malignancies (excluding NMSC) were numerically higher in North America versus Poland/Other countries with tofacitinib. Serious infections IRs were numerically higher in North America versus Poland across treatments. Venous thromboembolism/all-cause mortality IRs were generally comparable across regions. DAS28-4(CRP)/HAQ-DI improvements were generally lowest in North America. Conclusions Differences in safety outcomes were driven by the presence of baseline risk factors; North America and Poland demonstrated a higher proportion of patients with some baseline CV risk factors/comorbidities versus Other countries. As severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) evolves, infection management in vulnerable populations requires formalized guidance. Although low-virulence variants of SARS-CoV-2 remain predominant, they pose an increased risk of severe illness in adults with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs). Several disease-specific (chronic long-grade inflammation, concomitant immunosuppression) and individual (advanced age, multimorbidity, pregnancy, vaccination status) factors contribute to excess risk in RMD populations. Various post-COVID-19 manifestations are also increasingly reported and appear more commonly than in the general population. At a pathogenetic level, complex interplay involving innate and acquired immune dysregulation, viral persistence, and genetic predisposition shapes a unique susceptibility profile. Moreover, incident cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection as a trigger factor for the development of autoimmune conditions have been reported. Vaccination remains a key preventive strategy, and encouraging active education and awareness will be crucial for rheumatologists in the upcoming years. In patients with RMDs, COVID-19 vaccines’ benefits outweigh the risks. Derivation of specialized diagnostic and therapeutic protocols within a comprehensive COVID-19 care plan represents an ideal scenario for healthcare system organization. Vigilance for symptoms of infection and rapid diagnosis are key for introducing antiviral treatment in patients with RMDs in a timely manner. This review provides updated guidance on optimal immunization, diagnosis, and antiviral treatment strategies.

Objectives To untangle the association between smoking and systemic sclerosis (SSc).Methods In the European Scleroderma Trials and Research cohort, the autoantibody status was compared between ever-smokers and never-smokers. Time until disease progression was assessed using Kaplan-Meier curves. Cox models were built to investigate the influence of smoking over 15 years of follow-up. All analyses were performed for the total cohort and stratified for sex and for positivity of anti-centromere (ACA) and anti-topoisomerase antibodies (ATA).Results Overall, 12 314 patients were included in the study. Of these, 10 393 were women (84%), 4637 were ACA-positive (38%), 3919 were ATA-positive (32%) and 4271 (35%) were ever-smokers. In men, but not in women, smoking was associated with mortality (HR 1.63, 95% CI 1.23 to 2.16, p=0.001). Ever-smoking women were at higher risk for skin progression (HR 1.10, 95% CI 1.00 to 1.22, p=0.046) and for ‘any organ progression’ (HR 1.07, 95% CI 1.00 to 1.13, p=0.036). Introduction This multicenter, real-world, retrospective cohort study aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of tofacitinib (TOFA) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Material and methods Two hundred nine patients with active RA treated with TOFA, unresponsive to at least 2 conventional synthetic disease-modifying drugs, were recruited. Clinical characteristics were extracted from an electronic registry and supplemented with manual chart review and data linkage with ambulatory care. Drug retention and reasons for discontinuation were evaluated. Results Median (interquartile range) follow-up in the whole sample was 16.9 (5.93–31.7) months. Mean (standard deviation) age was 51.44 (±11.84) years, with female predominance ( n = 168, 80.4%). Only 30 patients (14.4%) had no pre-existing traditional cardiovascular (CV) risk factor at TOFA initiation. Tofacitinib retention rates were high, with median survival estimated at 89.3% at 6 months, 82.4% at 12 months, and 60.4% at 24 months. Ineffectiveness was the primary cause of discontinuation ( n = 50). The rate of adverse events (AEs) was relatively low, with lipid abnormalities, blood count alterations, and infectious events among the most common. No major adverse CV event was reported. The incidence rate of AEs necessitating treatment switch was 60.34 (95% CI: 37–92) per 1,000 per-son-years of follow-up. Presence of multiple (> 3) CV risk factors was associated with lower odds of TOFA retention and treatment effectiveness. Conclusions Tofacitinib demonstrated high retention rates and a favorable safety profile in RA patients, including those with traditional CV risk factors. Tofacitinib may be a valuable treatment option for RA patients when combined with individualized CV risk management. Further studies are warranted to explore the long-term effects of TOFA and its CV impact in larger populations.

A triad of symptoms characterises Felty's syndrome: seropositive rheumatoid arthritis (RA), splenomegaly and neutropenia. The treatment of Felty's syndrome is based on using classic synthetic and biological disease-modifying drugs (DMARDs). In this article, we present a case of a patient with Felty's syndrome who was treated with biologic treatment. A systematic search of the literature on the electronic medical database was conducted. The drugs from the DMARD group, despite reducing the activity of the disease, may cause significant clinical complications. It is important to know about the diagnosis, differentiation and treatment of neutropenia and the prevention of febrile neutropenia. The article discusses the current therapeutic possibilities using both classical and biologic DMARDs.

The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus infection is over 621 million. Post-COVID-19 syndrome, also known as long COVID or long-haul COVID, refers to a persistent condition where individuals experience symptoms and health issues after the acute phase of COVID-19. The aim of this study was to assess the strength and fatigue of skeletal muscles in people recovered from COVID-19. A total of 94 individuals took part in this cross-sectional study, with 45 participants (referred to as the Post-COVID Cohort, PCC) and 49 healthy age-matched volunteers (Healthy Control Cohort, HCC). This research article uses the direct dynamometry method to provide a detailed analysis of post-COVID survivors’ strength and power characteristics. The Biodex System 4 Pro was utilized to evaluate muscle strength characteristics during the fatigue test. The fatigue work in extensors and flexors was significantly higher in the PCC. The PCC also showed significantly less power in both extensors and flexors compared to the HCC. In conclusion, this study provides compelling evidence of the impact of post-COVID-19 fatigue on muscle performance, highlighting the importance of considering these effects in the rehabilitation and care of individuals recovering from the virus. PCC achieved lower muscle strength values than HCC.

The paper investigates the morphosyntax of Polish synthetic comparative adjectives and adverbs. It is argued that we can predict the distribution of different classes of adjectival roots and suffixes if we adopt the idea that both types of morphemes lexicalize syntactic constituents, the central tenet of Nanosyntax. The paper makes a case for two central claims. One is that the syn-sem properties of adjectives can be described with a finegrained syntactic sequence proposed for Slovak in Vanden Wyngaerd et al. (2020). The other one is that the lexical properties of Polish gradable adverbs follow from the syntactic representation of the adverb as properly containing the syntactic representation of the adjective.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects joints but should be considered as a syndrome that also includes extra-articular manifestations and comorbidities. Human-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) and their differentiated derivatives may be of special interest in the investigation of complex pathophysiology of RA. In this study, we demonstrate and compare the generation of hiPSC from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) from RA patients. Application of three-dimensional cardiac microtissues constructed from RA specific iPSC-derivatives may be a useful approach to investigate RA comorbidities and cardiac protection or toxicity of anti-rheumatic drugs.

Hyperuricemia, i.e. increased serum uric acid (UA) concentration, is a common problem in clinical practice. While there are clear guidelines concerning management of symptomatic hyperuricemia in acute conditions such as gout, urolithiasis or acute urate nephropathy, less is known about their secondary prevention. Moreover, despite the ongoing debate on the role of UA in the pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and heart failure, the management of asymptomatic hyperuricemia in patients with these chronic conditions is still mainly up to physicians’ judgement. Individual considerations should always be taken into account when prescribing urate-lowering therapy. In this narrative review study, we attempt to present current trends concerning treatment of patients with either symptomatic or asymptomatic hyperuricemia in the light of the available knowledge on the role of hyperuricemia in the development of gout, renal, cardiovascular and other diseases.

Dryness of mucosa and eyes is the most recognizable symptom of Sjögren’s syndrome (SS). Secondary SS (sSS) is diagnosed when symptoms of SS coexist with other systemic connective tissue disease. The sSS is often identified based on the symptoms of dryness in the presence of other connective tissue disease, making the diagnosis of sSS very subjective. The goal of this work was to summarize previously used and current criteria for the diagnosis of sSS. Classification criteria for sSS, which are universally accepted standards, do not exist. The diagnosis of sSS still depends on the experience of the investigator. Histopathological examination of minor salivary glands appears to be crucial for characterization of patients with sSS due to a specific picture of the disease and repeatability of the test.

Abstract Forest undergrowth plants are tightly connected with the shady and humid conditions that occur under the canopy of tropical forests. However, projected climatic changes, such as decreasing precipitation and increasing temperature, negatively affect understory environments by promoting light‐demanding and drought‐tolerant species. Therefore, we aimed to quantify the influence of climate change on the spatial distribution of three selected forest undergrowth plants, Dracaena Vand. ex L. species, D. afromontana Mildbr., D. camerooniana Baker, and D. surculosa Lindl., simultaneously creating the most comprehensive location database for these species to date. A total of 1,223 herbarium records originating from tropical Africa and derived from 93 herbarium collections worldwide have been gathered, validated, and entered into a database. Species‐specific Maxent species distribution models (SDMs) based on 11 bioclimatic variables from the WorldClim database were developed for the species. HadGEM2‐ES projections of bioclimatic variables in two contrasting representative concentration pathways (RCPs), RCP2.6 and RCP8.5, were used to quantify the changes in future potential species distribution. D. afromontana is mostly sensitive to temperature in the wettest month, and its potential geographical range is predicted to decrease (up to −63.7% at RCP8.5). Optimum conditions for D. camerooniana are low diurnal temperature range (6–8°C) and precipitation in the wettest season exceeding 750 mm. The extent of this species will also decrease, but not as drastically as that of D. afromontana. D. surculosa prefers high precipitation in the coldest months. Its potential habitat area is predicted to increase in the future and to expand toward the east. This study developed SDMs and estimated current and future (year 2050) potential distributions of the forest undergrowth Dracaena species. D. afromontana, naturally associated with mountainous plant communities, was the most sensitive to predicted climate warming. In contrast, D. surculosa was predicted to extend its geographical range, regardless of the climate change scenario.

Introduction International recommendations are intended to help rheumatologists in the effective management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) through an evidence-based approach. This research aimed to evaluate management patterns and associated difficulties encountered by rheumatologists in daily practice. Material and methods Interviewers recruited 101 Polish rheumatologists in a random quota-based, nationwide sample of outpatient clinics. Quantitative data were input online using a computer-assisted web interview tool. Results Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are not initiated at the time of diagnosis in 15% of RA patients, most often due to difficulties in patient-provider communication. The RA activity is assessed every 4 to 6 months by 30% of rheumatologists, and 64% of patients are reported to never achieve remission. Composite indices are the most reliable indicators of remission only for 38% of responders. Despite inadequate disease control with ≥ 2 treatment schedules with synthetic DMARDs, 34% of these patients are not considered for biological DMARDs (bDMARDs). Contraindications and reimbursement barriers are the most frequently stated reasons. Therapy with glucocorticoid (GC) lasting over 3 months is reported by 70% of rheumatologists. International recommendations are stated as the most common basis for treatment decisions. Conclusions Awareness of recommendations is not sufficient to ensure their application in clinical practice. Inadequate management of RA is quite prevalent, with a substantial contribution of non-medical factors. Daily practice mainly deviates from guidelines regarding frequency and mode of monitoring measures, time to DMARD initiation, and duration of GC treatment. Education programs and policy changes may significantly narrow the gap between evidence and practice.

The Natural History Collections of Adam Mickiewicz University (AMUNATCOLL) in Poznań contain over 2.2 million specimens. Until recently, access to the collections was limited to specialists and was challenging because of the analogue data files. Therefore, this paper presents a new approach to data sharing called the Scientific, Educational, Public, and Practical Use (SEPP) Model. Since the stakeholder group is broad, the SEPP Model assumes the following key points: full open access to the digitized collections, the structure of metadata in accordance with certain standards, and a versatile tool set for data mining or statistical and spatial analysis. The SEPP Model was implemented in the AMUNATCOLL IT system, which consists of a web portal equipped with a wide set of explorative functionalities tailored to different user groups: scientists, students, officials, and nature enthusiasts. An integral part of the system is a mobile application designed for field surveys, enabling users to conduct studies comparing their own field data and AMUNATCOLL data. The AMUNATCOLL IT database contains digital data on specimens, biological samples, bibliographic sources, and multimedia nature documents. The metadata structure was developed in accordance with ABCD 2.06 and Darwin Core standards.

Introduction There are no reliable data regarding the prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Poland. Material and methods The first stage was a face-to-face survey on a nationwide representative sample of 3000 people, which identified respondents with a physician-confirmed diagnosis of RA. The second stage was a survey of RA patients, which characterized the disease course and treatment. It was evaluated by analysis of a representative group of 1957 RA patients in routine clinical practice. Results The overall RA prevalence in Poland was 0.9% (95% CI: 0.6–1.2%), 1.06% for women, 0.74% for men. Seventy-eight percent were female, mean age was 56 and mean disease duration 7 years. Younger patients ( 5.1). Presently, low disease activity (DAS-28 < 3.2) was found in 38.5% of patients. In Poland, 94% of patients have been treated with non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, almost 80% with glucocorticoids. Meanwhile, methotrexate, as an anchor drug in Poland, has been used by 80% of patients, biological agents by 2.94% of patients. Conclusions This is the first cross-sectional population-based epidemiological study regarding prevalence of RA in the adult Polish population. The results demonstrate a high prevalence, falling within the upper boundary estimates for Europe. Despite ongoing treatment, the majority still have moderate to high disease activity, and the use of biological therapies is low.

Objective : Use of tumour necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi) has proved to be an important step forward in the treatment of axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), but the duration of the therapy as well as the management in case of low disease activity (LDA) or remission are not clearly established. Currently, the identification of potential predictors associated with the treatment discontinuation is the basic purpose of many clinical studies. The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of the discontinuation of TNFi therapy on the disease activity in patients with low disease activity. Material and methods : The study included 65 patients; 47 of patients (72%) were treated with etanercept, 16 (2%) with adalimumab and 2 (3%) with infliximab. Results : The mean age of the patients was 45 years, the mean BASDAI score was 6.8 and VAS for low back pain was 76 mm at baseline. 54 patients with axSpA (83%) achieved LDA after 9 months of anti-TNF therapy. During follow-up 40 patients (74% of patients with LDA) had an increase of the disease activity after mean 14 weeks and needed to restart the treatment with TNFi. After restart of the therapy LDA was regained in all patients after mean 7 weeks. 11 patients (17%) have never achieved LDA and 14 patients (22%) had LDA longer than 6 months without relapse. At baseline higher levels of CRP and ESR were observed in patients with relapse of the disease at the end of treatment and with LDA shorter than 6 months. Conclusions : Changes in the values of disease activity indicators (CRP, ESR) correlated with more stable response to TNFi therapy. Over 50% of patients who were treated with TNFi needed to restart the therapy. Treatment resumption allowed to regain a good clinical effect among affected patients.

Objectives: Report on one-year results from the Polish Spondyloarthritis Initiative registry (PolSPI), containing the cross-sectional analysis of clinical and imaging data as well as database methodology. Material and methods: The PolSPI registry includes patients with axial (axSpA) and peripheral (perSpA) spondyloarthritis according to ASAS classification criteria, and/or patients with ankylosing spondylitis according to modified New York criteria, psoriatic arthritis according to CASPAR criteria, arthropathy in inflammatory bowel disease, reactive arthritis, juvenile spondyloarthritis or undifferentiated spondyloarthritis. Epidemiologic data and history of signs, symptoms and treatment of spondyloarthritis are collected and assessment of disease activity is performed. Radiographic images of sacroiliac joint, cervical and lumbar spine, and results of bone densitometry are collected. Every 6 months blood samples for inflammatory markers, and for long-term storage are taken. Results : During a one-year period from September 2015 to August 2016, 63 patients were registered on an electronic database; 44 (69.8%) of patients were classified as axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and 19 (30.2%) as peripheral spondyloarthritis (perSpA) according to ASAS criteria. Statistically significant differences between axSpA and perSpA were discovered in the percentage of HLA-B27 antigen occurrence (92.6% and 50%, respectively), BASDAI (2.8% and 4.1%, respectively), DAS 28 (2.66% and 4.03%, respectively), percentage of peripheral arthritis (20% and 88.8%, respectively), enthesitis (26.7% and 70.6%, respectively), dactylitis (6.7% and 88.9%, respectively), as well as extra-articular symptoms: acute anterior uveitis (26.7% and 5.6% , respectively) and psoriasis (6.9% and 55.6%, respectively). Patients with axSpA had significantly higher mean grade of sacroiliac involvement according to New York criteria, higher mSASSS score, and lower T-score in femoral neck in bone densitometry. Conclusions : At the early stage of the disease patients with axSpA compared to those with perSpA, have more advanced structural damage of sacroiliac joints and spine, and lower bone mineral density in the femoral neck. In the upcoming years the PolSPI registry will prospectively follow-up patients with SpA, recording response to treatment and carrying out research on interaction of inflammation and bone remodelling.

Erythema nodosum is the most common form of panniculitis. It may have many aetiological factors. Erythema nodosum occurs three to five times more often in female patients. It appears as erythematous painful rounded nodules, located most often on the anterior surface of the lower extremities, and may be accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever, malaise and arthralgia. During diagnosis, oncological vigilance should be maintained, because erythema nodosum may be a paraneoplastic symptom. It requires an interdisciplinary approach and exclusion of many underlying causes.

Dracaena draco, which belongs to the genus Dracaena, is an endemic succulent of the Canary Islands. Although it is one of the most popular and widely grown ornamental plants in the world, little is known about its genomic variability. Next generation sequencing, especially in combination with advanced bioinformatics analysis, is a new standard in taxonomic and phylogenetic research. Therefore, in this study, the complete D. draco chloroplast genome (cp) was sequenced and analyzed in order to provide new genomic information and to elucidate phylogenetic relationships, particularly within the genus Dracaena. The D. draco chloroplast genome is 155,422 bp, total guanine-cytosine (GC) content is 37.6%, and it has a typical quadripartite plastid genome structure with four separate regions, including one large single copy region of 83,942 bp length and one small single copy region of 18,472 bp length, separated by two inverted repeat regions, each 26,504 bp in length. One hundred and thirty-two genes were identified, 86 of which are protein-coding genes, 38 are transfer RNAs, and eight are ribosomal RNAs. Seventy-seven simple sequence repeats were also detected. Comparative analysis of the sequence data of various members of Asparagales revealed mutational hotspots potentially useful for their genetic identification. Phylogenetic inference based on 16 complete chloroplast genomes of Asparagales strongly suggested that Dracaena species form one monophyletic group, and that close relationships exist between D. draco, D. cochinchinensis and D. cambodiana. This study provides new and valuable data for further taxonomic, evolutionary and phylogenetic studies within the Dracaena genus.

This article is a broad review focused on dragon trees—one of the most famous groups of trees in the world, well known from ancient times. These tertiary relicts are severely endangered in most of the area where they grow. The characteristic features of the dragon tree group are described and the species belonging to this group are listed. This review gathers together current knowledge regarding the taxonomy, evolution, anatomy and morphology, physiology, and ontogeny of arborescent dragon tree species. Attention is also paid to the composition, harvesting, medicinal, and ethnobotanical use of the resin (dragons’ blood). An evaluation of population structure, distribution, ecology, threats, and nature conservation forms the final part of the review. In the conclusions we recommend further avenues of research that will be needed to effectively protect all dragon tree species.

In the course of pSS, inflammatory cell infiltration consists mainly of lymphocytes infiltrating exocrine glands, which leads to their impaired function. The characteristic feature is generalized dryness. The aim of this study was to attempt to answer the question whether it is possible to distinguish between patients with pSS and individuals with dryness caused by other pathologies without applying invasive studies. The study included 68 patients with pSS and 43 healthy controls with dryness. FS ≥ 1 was observed in 90% of patients with pSS (with or without dryness), and only in 23% of the control group (only with xerostomia). In the pSS group, anaemia (p=0.0085), lymphocytopenia (p=0.0006), elevated ERS (p=0.001), higher RF titer, and ANA antibodies were noted. Configuration of anti-SSA + SSB + Ro52 antibodies was characteristic for the pSS group. Considering the clinical symptoms, statistically significant differences were noted between pSS patients and the control group in frequency (p=0.02) and severity (p=0.042) of fatigue, lymphadenopathy, major salivary gland involvement, and photosensitivity to UV light. In conclusion, invasive methods are pivotal in pSS diagnosis in this salivary gland biopsy. Chronic fatigue syndrome is more common in pSS patients and can be subjective distinguishing factor in the group of people with dryness.

Primary Sjogren’s syndrome (pSS) is a chronic autoimmune disease. The aim of the study was to establish whether in patients with pSS without central nervous system (CNS) involvement, the function of the central portion of the sensory pathway can be challenged. In 33 patients with pSS without clinical features of CNS damage and normal head computed tomography scan, somatosensory evoked potentials (SEP) were studied. The results were compared to other clinical parameters of the disease, particularly to immunological status. The control group consisted of 20 healthy volunteers. Mean latency of all components of SEP was considerably prolonged in patients compared to the control group. Mean interpeak latency N20-N13 (duration of central conduction TT) did not differ significantly between the groups. However, in the study group, mean amplitude of N20P22 and N13P16 was significantly higher compared to healthy individuals. In patients with pSS, significant differences in SEP parameters depending on the duration of the disease and presence of SSA and SSB antibodies were noted. The authors confirmed CNS involvement often observed in patients with pSS. They also showed dysfunction of the central sensory neuron as a difference in the amplitude of cortical response, which indicates subclinical damage to the CNS.
