Abstract Aim To evaluate the potential role of serum and tissue hsa_circ_0008621 as a prognostic biomarker for CRC patients. Focused on the functional role of hsa_circ_0008621 in colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods Serum and tissue hsa_circ_0008621 expression were quantified by qRT‐PCR in 157 CRC patients, as well as 100 serums from healthy controls. Serum and tissue hsa_circ_0008621 expression was evaluated for their prognostic role in CRC patients using Kaplan–Meier curves and Multivariate Cox proportional hazards analysis. To further characterize the biological role of hsa_circ_0008621 expression in CRC, in vitro hsa_circ_0008621 inhibition was performed and the effects on cellular growth, migration, invasion, apoptosis, and glycolysis were explored. Next, the downstream molecules for hsa_circ_0008621 were predicted. Results Hsa_circ_0008621 expression was significantly upregulated in CRC tissues and serums. Serum hsa_circ_0008621 levels were significantly up‐regulated in advanced‐staged samples. High serum hsa_circ_0008621 expression was associated with shorter overall survival and recurrence‐free survival in CRC patients. Multivariate Cox regression analysis identified a high level of serum hsa_circ_0008621 expression as an independent prognostic factor with respect to overall survival and recurrence‐free survival. Loss of function assays for hsa_circ_0008621 in vitro led to a significant decrease in cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and glycolysis, but an increase in cell apoptosis. Hsa_circ_0008621 can sponge miR‐532‐5p, which targets SLC16A3. Conclusion High level of serum hsa_circ_0008621 is associated with poor survival in CRC and promotes CRC progression, suggesting it to be a promising non‐invasive prognostic biomarker and novel therapeutic target in CRC patients.

Mitotic kinesin-like protein 2 (MKLP2/KIF20A) is a key mitotic regulator frequently overexpressed in human malignancies and its abundance is positively correlated with poor outcomes of the disease. Despite extensive research on MKLP2 as a potential target for oncology, the development of small-molecule inhibitors specific to MKLP2 remains limited. We have previously identified a benzoazipinone compound, HJ81 as a potent disruptor of Aurora kinase B (AURKB) localization during late mitosis. This study reveals that such disruption results from a failure of AURKB relocation at the onset of anaphase and this phenomenon can be specifically attributed to the disablement of MKLP2, a recognized facilitator of the relocation process. Further optimization of HJ81 leads to identifying compounds such as 12a as promising lead inhibitors of MKLP2-mediated processes, with improved pharmacokinetic properties. 12a inhibits the microtubule-stimulated ATPase activity of the recombinant MKLP2 in vitro. Significant suppression of tumor growth was observed in mice bearing the Calu-6 lung cancer cell line when treated with 12a at a well-tolerated dose. Overall, our findings suggest that benzoazipinone derivatives represent a novel chemical scaffold with the potential to be developed to mimic MKLP2 inhibition for cancer treatment.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs), especially exosomes, have shown great therapeutic potential in the treatment of diseases, as they can target cells or tissues. However, the therapeutic effect of EVs is limited due to the susceptibility of EVs to immune system clearance during transport in vivo. Hydrogels have become an ideal delivery platform for EVs due to their good biocompatibility and porous structure. This article reviews the preparation and application of EVs-loaded hydrogels as a cell-free therapy strategy in the treatment of diseases. The article also discusses the challenges and future outlook of EVs-loaded hydrogels.

Recent advances in deep learning have led to increased adoption of convolutional neural networks (CNN) for structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI)-based Alzheimer’s disease (AD) detection. AD results in widespread damage to neurons in different brain regions and destroys their connections. However, current CNN-based methods struggle to relate spatially distant information effectively. To solve this problem, we propose a graph reasoning module (GRM), which can be directly incorporated into CNN-based AD detection models to simulate the underlying relationship between different brain regions and boost AD diagnosis performance. Specifically, in GRM, an adaptive graph Transformer (AGT) block is designed to adaptively construct a graph representation based on the feature map given by CNN, a graph convolutional network (GCN) block is adopted to update the graph representation, and a feature map reconstruction (FMR) block is built to convert the learned graph representation to a feature map. Experimental results demonstrate that the insertion of the GRM in the existing AD classification model can increase its balanced accuracy by more than 4.3%. The GRM-embedded model achieves state-of-the-art performance compared with current deep learning-based AD diagnosis methods, with a balanced accuracy of 86.2%.

Background: This study aims to report the treatment process and results of the first officially published robotic peripheral vascular interventional surgery for lower extremity arterial occlusion in China. After a literature search, no domestic or foreign research reports have been found that share the same research content and innovation points. Methods: A 77-year-old female patient with intermittent claudication received drug balloon dilatation using a universal vascular interventional surgery robotic system on June 17, 2023, at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH). Results: With the help of the vascular interventional robot, the operation successfully re-opened the patient's nearly occluded blood vessel, and the patient's discomfort symptoms were relieved. The total operation lasted 60 ​min, which time was similar to surgeries without robots. The postoperative hospital stay was 2 days. Conclusion: This case has preliminarily verified the effectiveness and safety of vascular interventional robotic surgery. The initial study fills in the gaps in related fields and lays a solid foundation for the future development of universal vascular interventional robots. Larger scale trials and more clinical trials are needed to test and support the clinical application of universal vascular interventional robots.

Biochar is a biomaterial obtained by pyrolysis with high porosity and high specific surface area (SSA), which is widely used in several fields. The yield of biochar has an important effect on production cost and utilization efficiency, while SSA plays a key role in adsorption, catalysis, and pollutant removal. The preparation of biochar materials with better SSA is currently one of the frontiers in this research field. However, traditional methods are time consuming and laborious, so this paper developed a machine learning model to predict and study the properties of biochar efficiently for engineering through cross-validation and hyper parameter tuning. This paper used 622 data samples to predict the yield and SSA of biochar and selected eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) as the model due to its excellent performance in terms of performance (yield correlation coefficient R2 = 0.79 and SSA correlation coefficient R2 = 0.92) and analyzed it using Shapley Additive Explanation. Using the Pearson correlation coefficient matrix revealed the correlations between the input parameters and the biochar yield and SSA. Results showed the important features affecting biochar yield were temperature and biomass feedstock, while the important features affecting SSA were ash and retention time. The XGBoost model developed provides new application scenarios and ideas for predicting biochar yield and SSA in response to the characteristic input parameters of biochar.

Background: Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) is a highly malignant tumor with limited treatment options that contributes largely to cancer-related deaths worldwide. Compared with traditional transcriptomic analysis, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) is emerging as a more advanced and popular tool for the in-depth exploration of cellular diversity and molecular complexity. As a next-generation proteasome inhibitor, MLN2238 presents better pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutic responses in various cancers. However, its effects and mechanisms of action in iCCA remain unknown.Methods: iCCA tumor heterogeneity was determined based on 4,239 qualified scRNA-seq data from 10 iCCA samples. The potential biological roles of proteasome-related genes in iCCA were investigated using a pseudo-trajectory reconstruction. The effect of MLN2238 on iCCA cell proliferation was estimated using the CCK-8, EdU, and clone formation assays. Flow cytometry was used to examine the effect of added MLN2238 on cell cycle and apoptosis levels. Autophagic flux was detected using AdPlus-mCherry-GFP-LC3B cells. ROS levels and mitochondrial membrane potential were determined using DCFH-DA probing and JC-1 staining. JNK activation and mitochondrial apoptosis were observed using western blotting and immunofluorescence microscopy, respectively. Finally, we used a tumor-bearing mouse model to validate its efficacy in vivo for iCCA treatment.Results: Proteasome-related genes were dysregulated in iCCA progression and expressed at higher levels in tumor tissues. MLN2238 suppressed cell proliferation, blocked the cell cycle in the G2/M phase, promoted apoptosis, and induced cytoprotective autophagy in iCCA cells. Furthermore, MLN2238 increased ROS levels and activated the JNK signaling pathway. Inhibition of ROS and JNK activation by NAC and SP600125 significantly reversed MLN2238-induced apoptosis. MLN2238 also suppressed the growth of iCCA tumors in vivo.Conclusion: Proteasome-related genes play pivotal roles in iCCA development. MLN2238, as a proteasome inhibitor, induces apoptosis in iCCA cells through ROS/JNK/mitochondrial signaling pathways, and hence, making MLN2238 a potential therapeutic choice for iCCA.

We discuss the problem of accountability when multiple parties cooperate towards an end result, such as multiple companies in a supply chain or departments of a government service under different authorities. In cases where a fully trusted central point does not exist, it is difficult to obtain a trusted audit trail of a workflow when each individual participant is unaccountable to all others. We propose AudiWFlow, an auditing architecture that makes participants accountable for their contributions in a distributed workflow. Our scheme provides confidentiality in most cases, collusion detection, and availability of evidence after the workflow terminates. AudiWFlow is based on verifiable secret sharing and real-time peer-to-peer verification of records; it further supports multiple levels of assurance to meet a desired trade-off between the availability of evidence and the overhead resulting from the auditing approach. We propose and evaluate two implementation approaches for AudiWFlow. The first one is fully distributed except for a central auxiliary point that, nevertheless, needs only a low level of trust. The second one is based on smart contracts running on a public blockchain, which is able to remove the need for any central point but requires integration with a blockchain.

Peroxidasin (PXDN), also known as vascular peroxidase-1, is a newly discovered heme-containing peroxidase; it is involved in the formation of extracellular mesenchyme, and it catalyzes various substrate oxidation reactions in humans. However, the role and specific mechanism of PXDN in tumor are unclear, and no systematic pan-cancer studies on PXDN have been reported to date. This study employed data from multiple databases, including The Cancer Genome Atlas and The Genotype-Tissue Expression, to conduct a specific pan-cancer analysis of the effects of PXDN expression on cancer prognosis. Further, we evaluated the association of PXDN expression with DNA methylation status, tumor mutation burden, and microsatellite instability. Additionally, for the first time, the relationship of PXDN with the tumor microenvironment and infiltration of fibroblasts and different immune cells within different tumors was explored, and the possible molecular mechanism of the effect was also discussed. Our results provide a comprehensive understanding of the carcinogenicity of PXDN in different tumors and suggest that PXDN may be a potential target for tumor immunotherapy, providing a new candidate that could improve cancer clinical diagnosis and treatment.

In this study, oxidized maltodextrins with a high concentration of carboxyl groups were produced using CuSO4 as a catalyst and H2O2 as an eco-friendly oxidant. Infrared spectroscopy, proton-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis were utilized to examine the structure and properties of oxidized maltodextrins. The reaction conditions were optimized in terms of oxidant content, catalyst content, temperature, pH, and reaction time. The prepared oxidized maltodextrin had a carboxyl group content of 105% under the conditions of 200% molar H2O2, 1% molar catalyst, 55 °C, initial pH = 9.7, and 2 h reaction time. In comparison to the commonly used sodium hypochlorite oxidation process, the carboxyl group content was increased by 58%.

Leisure dried tofu (LD-tofu) was prepared using two different marinating processes: the repeated heating method (RHM) and the vacuum pulse method (VPM). The quality characteristics and bacterial community succession of LD-tofu and the marinade were evaluated. The results showed that the nutrients in LD-tofu were easily dissolved into the marinade during the marinating process, while the protein and moisture content of RHM LD-tofu changed most dramatically. With the increase in marinade recycling times, the springiness, chewiness and hardness of VPM LD-tofu increased significantly. The total viable count (TVC) of the VPM LD-tofu decreased from the initial value of 4.41 lg cfu/g to 2.51–2.67 lg cfu/g as a result of the marinating process, which had a significant inhibitory effect. Additionally, 26, 167 and 356 communities in the LD-tofu and marinade were detected at the phylum, family and genus levels, respectively. Pearson correlation analysis showed that Pseudomonadaceae, Thermaceae and Lactobacillaceae were closely related to the quality characteristics of LD-tofu, whereas Caulobacteriaceae, Bacillaceae and Enterobacteriae were closely related to the marinade. The present work provides a theoretical basis for the screening of functional strains and quality control in LD-tofu and marinade.

More and more individuals and enterprises outsource data and applications to cloud servers in recent years. Since the public cloud servers are not completely trusted, users usually encrypt important data before sending it to cloud servers. As a result, ciphertext retrieval technology has gradually become a research hotspot. In the existing related schemes, there are some defects such as not supporting “multiple owners” mode and multi-keyword retrieval, having low retrieval efficiency, accuracy and security, and difficult data updating. Hence, we propose an efficient Ciphertext Retrieval scheme based on Homomorphic encryption for Multiple data owners in hybrid cloud (CRHM), in which the public cloud server and the private cloud server cooperate to perform the ciphertext retrieval. In CRHM, an encrypted balanced binary index tree structure and a homomorphic encryption method based on large integer operations are designed to support “multiple owners” mode and multi-keyword ranked retrieval. The security analysis shows that CRHM can effectively guarantee the privacy and security of user file and retrieval, and the performance evaluation demonstrates that compared with the existing related schemes, CRHM has high efficiency in the index generation and retrieval processes, while keeps relatively high retrieval accuracy.

Abstract Gemcitabine (GEM) alone and GEM‐based chemotherapy are the preferred regimens for treating advanced unresectable and metastatic pancreatic cancer (PC). However, these treatments have limited efficacy due to acquired resistance of cancer cells to chemotherapy, the mechanisms of which are not fully understood. In this study, we established two stable multidrug‐resistant cell lines, BxPC‐3‐GR and CFPAC‐1‐GR, from their corresponding parental cells through exposure to GEM following a stepwise incremental dosing strategy. The GEM IC50 values of BxPC‐3‐GR and CFPAC‐1‐GR increased 112‐fold and 210‐fold, respectively, compared to parental cell lines. In vitro and in vivo experiments confirmed that both GEM‐resistant cell subgroups declined in proliferative capacity, but were more resistant to GEM. Unlike CFPAC‐1‐GR, BxPC‐3‐GR exhibited enhanced migratory and invasive properties compared with BxPC‐3 in vitro. We also compared differentially expressed mRNA profiles between parental and GEM‐resistant cells using transcriptome sequencing. RRM1, STIM1, and TRIM21 were significantly upregulated in both GEM‐resistant cell lines and confirmed to be associated with the degree of GEM resistance by quantitative reverse‐transcription polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis. These three genes were more highly expressed in PC tissues and potentially regarded as prognostic biomarkers through database mining. Thus, our findings provide chemo‐resistant cell models to better understand the underlying mechanisms of chemoresistance, and to explore potential biomarkers for GEM response in PC patients.

Currently, the processing method of introducing plant protein into meat products has attracted great attention. However, the direct addition of plant protein often leads to a decline in meat product quality. This paper aims to provide an efficient method for incorporating plant protein into fish sausage. Pea protein isolate (PPI), grass carp protein isolate (CPI) and pea-grass carp coprecipitated dual protein (Co) were derived from pea and grass carp by an isoelectric solubilisation/precipitation method. At the same time, the blended dual protein (BL) was obtained by blending PPI with CPI, and the plant and animal protein content of Co and BL was both controlled to be the same. The four proteins were combined with soybean oil and water to form a three-phase pre-emulsification system of protein-oil-water, which was added to grass carp meat as a replacement for animal fat to prepare fish sausage. The gelation properties of the four fish sausages and those without protein were analysed. The results showed that the gel quality of PPI fish sausage is poor, while the overall quality of Co fish sausage as a whole was significantly superior to that of PPI and BL, which was equivalent to CPI fish sausage. The sensory score of the Co fish sausage was slightly lower than that of CPI, but it had significantly higher water-holding capacity and hardness (p < 0.05). The Co fish sausage showed the synergistic effect of heterologous proteins, while BL had some antagonistic effects. This study shows that Co pre-emulsion is an effective strategy to introduce plant protein, so it has a good application prospect in the meat industry.

Isoelectric solubilisation/co-precipitation (ISP) has been proven to be a better method than blending for preparing plant–animal dual-proteins, which can achieve synergies in the functional properties of heterologous proteins. This paper aims to investigate the effect of extraction pH on the functional properties of co-precipitated dual-protein. The basic composition, subunit composition, solubility, surface hydrophobicity, emulsification and gel properties of co-precipitated dual-protein (Co) prepared from pea and grass carp with pH (2.0, 3.0, 9.0, 10.0 and 11.0) were analysed in this study using ISP. The results showed that the functional properties of Co (Co9, Co10, Co11) prepared by alkali extraction were generally better than those prepared by acid extraction (Co2, Co3). Among them, Co10 has the highest vicilin/legumin α + β value and solubility, while having the lowest surface hydrophobicity, making its emulsification and gel properties superior to other extraction pH values. This study provides an important method reference for preparing plant-animal Co with exceptional functional properties.

There is evidence that non-coding RNAs play significant roles in the regulation of nutrient homeostasis, development, and stress responses in plants. Accurate identification of ncRNAs is the first step in determining their function. While a number of machine learning tools have been developed for ncRNA identification, no dedicated tool has been developed for ncRNA identification in plants. Here, an automated machine learning tool, PINC is presented to identify ncRNAs in plants using RNA sequences. First, we extracted 91 features from the sequence. Second, we combined the F-test and variance threshold for feature selection to find 10 features. The AutoGluon framework was used to train models for robust identification of non-coding RNAs from datasets constructed for four plant species. Last, these processes were combined into a tool, called PINC, for the identification of plant ncRNAs, which was validated on nine independent test sets, and the accuracy of PINC ranged from 92.74% to 96.42%. As compared with CPC2, CPAT, CPPred, and CNIT, PINC outperformed the other tools in at least five of the eight evaluation indicators. PINC is expected to contribute to identifying and annotating novel ncRNAs in plants.

Pancreatic cancer has an extremely low prognosis, which is attributable to its high aggressiveness, invasiveness, late diagnosis, and lack of effective therapies. Among all the drugs joining the fight against this type of cancer, microtubule-targeting agents are considered to be the most promising. They inhibit cancer cells although through different mechanisms such as blocking cell division, apoptosis induction, etc. Hereby, we review the functions of microtubule cytoskeletal proteins in tumor cells and comprehensively examine the effects of microtubule-targeting agents on pancreatic carcinoma.

Single-cell analysis is becoming an indispensable tool in modern biological and medical research. Single-cell isolation is the key step for single-cell analysis. Single-cell printing shows several distinct advantages among the single-cell isolation techniques, such as precise deposition, high encapsulation efficiency, and easy recovery. Therefore, recent developments in single-cell printing have attracted extensive attention. We review herein the recently developed bioprinting strategies with single-cell resolution, with a special focus on inkjet-like single-cell printing. First, we discuss the common cell printing strategies and introduce several typical and advanced printing strategies. Then, we introduce several typical applications based on single-cell printing, from single-cell array screening and mass spectrometry-based single-cell analysis to three-dimensional tissue formation. In the last part, we discuss the pros and cons of the single-cell strategies and provide a brief outlook for single-cell printing.

Currently, the application of protein mixture derived from plants and animals is of great interest to the food industry. However, the synergistic effects of isolated protein blends (BL) are not well established. Herein, the development of a more effective method (co-precipitation) for the production of protein mixtures from pea and grass carp is reported. Pea protein isolate (PPI), grass carp protein isolate (CPI), and pea–carp protein co-precipitates (Co) were prepared via isoelectric solubilization/precipitation using peas and grass carp as raw materials. Meanwhile, the BL was obtained by blending PPI with CPI. In addition, the subunit composition and functional properties of Co and BL were investigated. The results show that the ratios of vicilin to legumin α + β and the soluble aggregates of Co were 2.82- and 1.69-fold higher than that of BL. The surface hydrophobicity of Co was less than that of BL, PPI, and CPI (p < 0.05). The solubility of Co was greater than that of BL, PPI, and CPI (p < 0.05), and the foaming activity was higher than that of BL and CPI (p < 0.05) but slightly lower than that of PPI. In addition, based on the emulsifying activity index, particle size, microstructure, and viscosity, Co had better emulsifying properties than BL, PPI, and CPI. The study not only confirmed that co-precipitation was more effective than blending for the preparation of mixed protein using PPI and CPI but also provided a standard of reference for obtaining a mixture of plant and animal proteins.

Extant literature has suggested that leadership styles have a significant impact on subordinate taking charge. However, the effect of ethical leadership on subordinate taking charge is still insufficiently explored. Drawing on social exchange theory, we developed a moderated mediation model in which social exchange was theorized as a mediating mechanism underlining why subordinates feel motivated to take charge with the supervision of ethical leadership. Moreover, power distance was supposed to be a relevant boundary condition to moderate such a relationship. Two hundred thirty-nine independent leader–subordinate dyads in China were used to test the model. Results showed that subordinates’ social exchange mediates the relationship between ethical leadership and subordinate taking charge, and such a relationship was found to be stronger among subordinates who had lower levels of power distance rather than higher levels. Theoretical and practical implications concerning enhancement of subordinate taking charge in organizations where ethical leaderships exist are discussed.

Organohydrogels with distinct antifreezing and antidehydration properties have aroused great interest among researchers, and various organohydrogels and organohydrogel-based applications have emerged recently. There are two popular synthesis strategies to prepare these antifreezing and antidehydration organohydrogels: the in-situ gelling and the solvent displacement strategies. Although both strategies have been widely applied, there is a lack of comparative study of these two strategies. In this work, to elucidate the comparative advantages of the two synthesis strategies, we studied and compared the mechanical and environmental tolerant properties of the organohydrogels synthesized from both strategies. The glycerol-based and ethylene glycol-based chemical polyacrylamide (PAAm) organohydrogel and the glycerol-based physical gelatin organohydrogel were synthesized and studied. Through the comparative study, we have found that the organohydrogels from different strategies with the same dispersion medium showed similar antifreezing and antidehydration properties but different mechanical properties. The mechanical properties of these organohydrogels are influenced by two opposite factors for each strategy: the enhanced physical interactions induced strengthening and solvent effect or swelling induced weakening. We hope this study may provide a better understanding of the synthesis strategies of organohydrogels and provide a valuable guide to choose the suitable synthesis strategy for each application.

This paper reports the design and construction of a plastic-glass hybrid microfluidic platform for performing protein crystallization trials in nanoliter double emulsions. The double emulsion-based protein crystallization trials were implemented with both the vapor-diffusion method and microbatch method by controlling the diffusion of water between the inner and outer phases and by eliminating water evaporation. Double emulsions, whose inner and outer environments can be easily adjusted, can provide ideal conditions to explore protein crystallization with the advantages of a convection-free environment and a homogeneous interface. The property of the water-oil interface was demonstrated to be a critical factor for nucleation, and appropriate surfactants should be chosen to prevent protein adsorption at the interface. The results from the volume effect study showed a trend of fewer crystals and longer incubation time when the protein solution volume became smaller, suggesting that the nucleation in protein crystallization process can be controlled by changing the volume of protein solutions. Finally, sparse matrix screening was achieved using the double emulsion-based microbatch method. The double emulsion-based approach for protein crystallization is a promising tool for enhancing the crystal quality by controlling the nucleation process.

BackgroundThe enhanced liver fibrosis test (ELF) has been shown to accurately predict significant liver fibrosis in several liver diseases.AimsTo perform a meta-analysis to assess the performance of the ELF test for the assessment of liver fibrosis.StudyElectronic and manual searches were performed to identify studies of the ELF test. After methodological quality assessment and data extraction, pooled estimates of the sensitivity, specificity, area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC), positive likelihood ratio (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR), diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) and summary receiver operating characteristics (sROC) were assessed systematically. The extent of heterogeneity and reasons for it were assessed.ResultsNine studies were identified for analysis. The pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive LR, negative LR, and DOR values of ELF test, for assessment of significant liver fibrosis, were 83% (95% CI=0.80-0.86), 73% (95% CI=0.69-0.77), 4.00 (95% CI=2.50-6.39), 0.24 (95% CI=0.17-0.34), and 16.10 (95% CI=8.27-31.34), respectively; and, for evaluation of severe liver fibrosis, were 78% (95% CI=0.74-0.81), 76% (95% CI=0.73-0.78), 4.39 (95% CI=2.76-6.97), 0.27 (95% CI=0.16-0.46), and 16.01 (95% CI: 7.15-35.82), respectively; and, for estimation of cirrhosis, were 80% (95% CI=0.75-0.85), 71% (95% CI=0.68-0.74), 3.13 (95% CI=2.01-4.87), 0.29 (95% CI=0.19-0.44), and 14.09 (95% CI: 5.43-36.59), respectively.ConclusionsThe ELF test shows good performance and considerable diagnostic value for the prediction of histological fibrosis stage.

BACKGROUND: Standard-volume polyethylene glycol (PEG) gut lavage solutions are safe and effective, but they require the consumption of large volumes of fluid. A new lower-volume solution of PEG plus ascorbic acid has been used recently as a preparation for colonoscopy. AIM: A meta-analysis was performed to compare the performance of low-volume PEG plus ascorbic acid with standard-volume PEG as bowel preparation for colonoscopy. STUDY: Electronic and manual searches were performed to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared the performance of low-volume PEG plus ascorbic acid with standard-volume PEG as bowel preparation for colonoscopy. After a methodological quality assessment and data extraction, the pooled estimates of bowel preparation efficacy during bowel cleansing, compliance with preparation, willingness to repeat the same preparation, and the side effects were calculated. We calculated pooled estimates of odds ratios (OR) by fixed- and/or random-effects models. We also assessed heterogeneity among studies and the publication bias. RESULTS: Eleven RCTs were identified for analysis. The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationships between the factors that influence entrepreneurial Intention (EI), using a modified version of Ajzen's theory of planned behaviour (TPB), considering the perception of behaviour. This examination depended on participants' demographic characteristics and psycho-social behavioural traits of attitude (ATT), Subjective norm (SN), and perceived behavioural control (PBC). The establishment of a new business entails various forms of action to achieve desired results. This research analyzes entrepreneurship as the creation of business by engaging in rational behaviour to optimize the use of available technologies and financial sources. These activities are not standardized: They emerge from the entrepreneurial imagination, the perception of new opportunities, and innovation. The aim of a business is not just to produce and sell goods or services. A company must determine the appropriate means of providing them and choose the values to be adopted in the procedure of doing so. Companies should also identify the actions to be taken so that principals or employees incorporate these values into their activities and establish the character that will permit them to regards options and make correct decisions in keeping with the business's goals.

Pancreatic cancer has an extremely low prognosis, which is attributable to its high aggressiveness, invasiveness, late diagnosis, and lack of effective therapies. Among all the drugs joining the fight against this type of cancer, microtubule-targeting agents are considered to be the most promising. They inhibit cancer cells although through different mechanisms such as blocking cell division, apoptosis induction, etc. Hereby, we review the functions of microtubule cytoskeletal proteins in tumor cells and comprehensively examine the effects of microtubule-targeting agents on pancreatic carcinoma. Nowadays quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) as a nanoscale transistor-less device technology have attained major attention for their prominent features. The circuits constructed by QCA technology owning remarkable decreasing in size, fast switching speed and ultra-low energy consumption. These features can be more different in varied memory structures. Random access memory (RAM) is a kind of data storage devices that allows data to be read or written it's generally volatile, and used for data that change often. Due to the significance of memory in a digital system, designing and optimization of high-speed RAM in QCA nanotechnology is a substantial subject. So, this paper presents a new structure for QCA-based RAM cell by employing the 3-input rotated majority gate (RMG). Eventually, 1 × 4 RAM is designed by exerting the individual memory cell. The functionality of the proposed design is implemented and assessed using the QCADesigner simulator. Alternating current field measurement (ACFM) is a technology for detecting magnetic flux leakage (MFL) using a magnetic sensor and is often used to detect welding defects. An alternating magnetic field was generated under the excitation of an alternating electric field. The magnetic field direction of an alternating magnetic field changes with time and the size and direction of the leakage magnetic field on the weldment also change periodically. In order to verify this rule, the distribution of the leakage magnetic field in different magnetisation directions was analysed through simulation and experiment. The simulation results show that when sinusoidal excitation is applied to the coil, the direction of magnetisation changes with time and the magnetic field density (B) gradually changes periodically on the weldment. This was verified through related experiments. When the surface of the weldment had welding defects, the dynamic magneto-optical image was captured in different magnetisation directions. Welding defects have different magneto-optical images in different frames, which can present more information for the same defect. In addition, in the experiment, the correlation between the grey-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) of magneto-optical images in different magnetisation directions and that of the leakage magnetic field in the corresponding direction was analysed. Simulations and experiments were performed on different types of welding defect. It was found that the trend of characteristics for the leakage magnetic fields was similar to that of the characteristics for the grey-level co-occurrence matrix of the magneto-optical images. We developed and tested a model linking safety innovation intention with safety innovation behavior and safety performance. Participants were 407 employees of blasting, chemical, mining, and other high-risk industries in China. The results indicated that safety innovation intention was positively associated with safety performance, and safety innovation behavior played a partial mediating role in this relationship. In addition, safety climate moderated the relationship between safety innovation intention and safety innovation behavior, which mediated the interaction of safety climate and safety innovation behavior in predicting safety performance. Using the systematic method of modern ship energy efficiency management, strict control and management of ship energy consumption, energy utilization and carbon dioxide emissions will be of great significance for achieving energy conservation and emission reduction of ships and promoting the green development of shipping. On the basis of summarizing the previous research results, this paper designs a ship energy efficiency management model based on data analysis through a large number of current industry data collection, manufacturing and operation data collection, collation and analysis. The model system can monitor and collect various dynamic and static parameters in real time, and calculate the ship energy efficiency design index (EEDI) and the ship energy efficiency operation index (EEOI). Combined with the ship's own and its energy consumption information, such as range, cargo capacity, speed, host power, the system can dynamically analyze the entire production and operation process of the ship.
