Abtract This study aims analyze the important influencing factors that affect the life satisfaction of Koreans, and to identify the relative importance of these factors. For this purpose, we utilize academic papers on what influences life satisfaction, and questionnaire data from the survey on social integration conducted annually by the Korean Government. A topic modelling analysis method was used to derive important influencing factors, and a neural network analysis method, one of the machine learning methods, was used to analyze the relative importance of influencing factors. The analysis showed that the factor that had the greatest impact on Koreans’ life satisfaction was satisfaction with work. Other factors included self-esteem, level of worry and anxiety, and level of satisfaction with health status. The study used methods such as topic modeling and neural network analysis to derive the main factors affecting life satisfaction and analyze the relative importance of the factor involved. The study results suggest that in recognition of the importance of job satisfaction, future research should be expanded, and that the Korean Government should introduce various policies to increase job satisfaction.

This paper aims to identify factors that influence the successful implementation of ODA rural development projects for developing countries. To this end, it has analysed the implementation process of a project, ‘The Integrated Rural Development Project in Kyrgyz Republic’, currently being carried out in Kyrgyzstan via Good Neighbors International (GNI) with support from KOICA (Korean International Cooperation Agency). The analysis method employed in this study is decision tree analysis. By means of a review of previous studies on the implementation of ODA projects, variables that are believed to have an impact on the successful implementation of ODA rural development projects were derived. The values of each variable for thirty villages in Kyrgyzstan were derived and used as independent variables, and decision tree analysis was performed using the overall execution performance score for each village as the dependent variable. As a result, it was found that co-operation between field managers active at the project site and village residents was the most important determining factor of success.

Objective: Kyrgyzstan, located in Central Asia, is a country which has a strong will to achieve national development. The aim of this study is to measure the levels of trust of local residents, a highly important factor in national development, and to derive suggestions for improving it. To this end, the primary means employed is to target the residents of Kyrgyzstan and measure the levels of trust they have towards each other. Methods: The study uses data relating to aid projects for rural development that Korea’s Good Neighbors International organization (GNI) is jointly carrying out in Kyrgyzstan along with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), a Korean aid provider. In order to carry out the aid project to Kyrgyzstan, these organizations conducted a baseline survey at the initial stage, and the results of this study were used for analysis. As regards the analytical method used in this study, neural network analysis was employed for the questionnaire survey data of 583 people in Kyrgyzstan that was used for the baseline survey. Results: Neural network analysis, a component of the big data analysis method, has recently been in the academic limelight. The analysis revealed that ethnicity had the greatest influence on the trust levels of Kyrgyzstan residents, followed by gender and education level, in that order. Conclusions: From this, it can be seen that multifaceted efforts are needed to increase the levels of trust of peoples other than ethnic Kyrgyzstanis, as they occupy a central position in Kyrgyzstan.

The aim of this study was to ascertain the levels of well-being that local residents experience in different types of community in Korea. To this end, the study divided Korean communities into three types - metropolitan communities, small and medium-sized city communities, and rural communities - and attempted to analyse the factors affecting the happiness of residents in each type. For this purpose, decision tree analysis was applied. As a result of the analysis, the 69 metropolitan communities were all divided into five nodes, and it was found that the biggest factor influencing the happiness of residents in these communities was social capital. The 99 small and medium-sized city communities were all classified into nine nodes, and it was found that in these communities environmental capital had the greatest influence on residents' happiness. The 82 rural communities were all classified into eleven nodes, and here it was found that human capital had the greatest influence. Taken together, these findings indicate that each individual community needs to establish a policy reflecting the characteristics of the nodes to which it belongs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study is based on the assumption that development, in the field of public administration, is important in terms of the sustainable development of developing countries. This is a prescriptive study, that seeks to discover which indicators are appropriate for measuring the levels of public administration in developing countries, and then applying them to these countries by using the actual values of the indicators thus discovered. Thereby, it should be possible to identify which specific projects, among public administration fields, should be implemented in the future to aid the sustainable development of developing countries. As an analysis method, decision tree analysis was applied. As a result, all developing countries were divided into eleven nodes, making it possible to identify the specific characteristics of the countries belonging to each node (group) and to discover projects beneficial for the future development of public administration. This study was conducted in order to ascertain what role government and individuals should play in the event of a pandemic such as Coronavirus occurring in Korea in the future, using information deriving from news articles available at the Bigkinds news portal site in Korea. The analysis period ran from 11 March 2020, when the pandemic was declared by the World Health Organization, to 31 January 2023, almost three years later. Text mining analysis was conducted on all the articles, as a result of which six important roles that individuals should play, and ten roles that government should play, in a pandemic situation were suggested. The aim of this study is to increase the effectiveness of Korean aid provision for countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which are important ODA recipient count ries from a Korean perspective, but have not been studied extensively in Korea. Although ther e are twenty countries in the MENA region, in this study five countries, Egypt, Algeria, Liby a, Iran and Iraq, which are considered important from a Korean perspective, are targeted. The analysis includes an examination of the regional characteristics and the long-term developmen t plans of these five countries, and the size and contents of aid projects provided by Korea to these countries. This study aims to evaluate the status of the partnerships with important int ernational organisations that Korea employs in operating its foreign aid proje cts from a humanitarian point of view. On the basis of this information, Ko rea intends to seek ways of effectively supporting underdeveloped countries through future co-operation with these organisations. The main international o rganisations analysed are the World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nat ions Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the World Health Organisation (WHO), the United Nat ions Development Program (UNDP), the (United Nations) Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the Food and A griculture Organisation (FAO), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCH A). These international organisations support underdeveloped countries throug h co-operative relationships not only with Korea but also with important don or countries of the OECD. This study focuses on establishing the factors tha t Korea needs to consider when providing humanitarian aid in the future to underdeveloped countries via such international organisations. This article aims to develop a model for analysing the operation and outcomes of the contracting process as it applies to public services, and to explore the politics of transaction costs involved in this process using a case study of Compulsory Competitive Tendering (CCT) in the UK. For this purpose the article deals with the policy outputs from two time periods, 1991 and 1994, which are regarded as the most dynamic years in terms of CCT policy implementation. The article also demonstrates how transaction costs may be manipulated in the contracting process by the interested parties.
