Cet article propose de scruter les portraits de femmes proposés dans quelques oeuvres romanesques actuelles qui prennent part au projet de (re)connaissance de la vérité multiple et pluriforme du féminin. Afin de cerner les caractéristiques majeures des états de femmes d'aujourd'hui, il propose d'abord de s'attacher à une figure de couple homosexuel ; il souligne ensuite la forte prégnance sociale des intrigues qui font des héroïnes tout à la fois des victimes et des meurtrières, déclinaisons des « femmes puissantes » de Marie NDiaye ; il cerne enfin la part liée au corps violenté des femmes. From the 1980s to the end of 2000s, the Turkish military was actively involved in the construction of Islam as a threat to national security, and in doing so it securitized religious identities in the political arena and in its own ranks. In the process, Turkish military bases became infused with public tensions around religion and secularity and became sites that produced social divisions along these lines on a daily basis. This article explores the uniquely emotional and corporeal the intertwinement of secularism and security as was experienced within the mundane social interactions in the daily life of military bases through ethnographic research conducted in 2011. It focuses on the narratives of the daughters and wives of military officers whose bodies were mapped on to the opposite ends of a security paradigm based on a secular/religious dichotomy. Caught in between designations of security and risk, women's bodily and emotional experiences reveal the spatial constructions of secularism and the inherently vague and ambiguous distinctions secularism cultivates as a function of modern power. Looking at the gendered and spatially mediated meanings of secular, religious, security and risk, this article contributes to scholarship in cultural and social geographies of secularism through an analysis of corporeal and emotional experiences. This article examines the importance that bodily materialism occupies in three representative short stories taken from La contagion du réel while highlighting the implicit and explicit criticism of religious dogma that can be found within them and the collection as a whole. The three stories examined here, situated at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the collection, correspond to the Imaginary, the Symbolic and the Real, or the three elements composing the Borromean knot that Jacques Lacan attributes to the structure of the Subject. This article shows the extent to which the Real, which Lacan associates with the impossible, corresponds to the changing and unforeseeable nature of material life and underlines the importance of paying attention to it. To conclude, I insist on the relationship between the Real and the ambiguity of the last text in the collection, which recalls at once a short story and an editorial note. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

German football stadiums are well known for their atmosphere. It is often described as 'electrifying,' or 'cracking.' This article focuses on this atmosphere. Using a phenomenological approach, it explores how this emotionality can be understood and how geography matters while attending a match. Atmosphere in this context is conceptualized based on work by as a mood-charged space, neither object- nor subject-centered, but rather a medium of perception which cannot not exist. Based on qualitative research done in the home stadium of Hertha BSC in the German Bundesliga, this article shows that the bodily sensations experienced by spectators during a visit to the stadium are synchronized with events on the pitch and with the more or less imposing scenery. The analysis of in situ diaries reveals that spectators experience a comprehensive sense of collectivity. The study presents evidence that the occurrence of these bodily sensations is strongly connected with different aspects of spatiality. This includes sensations of constriction and expansion within the body, an awareness of one's location within the stadium, the influence of the immediate surroundings and cognitive here/there and inside/outside distinctions. Although classical sociology was not always oblivious or indifferent to the embodied dimensions of social relations, contemporary sociology has developed new perspectives and frameworks for understanding the body as a social and cultural construct and fundamental element in material and symbolic processes of power and conviviality. What do contemporary sociological approaches contribute to our understanding of corporeality and embodiment? What kind of changes does this represent in relation to classical perspectives? How do different theoretical approaches connect to contemporary interests and empirical research? The present article attempts to answer these questions, looking at the development and diversification of sociological approaches to the body, from Elias and Bourdieu to contemporary feminist, Foucauldian post-structuralism and queer theories. The authors highlight current research that is intersectional, international and path-breaking. They also pay particular attention to connections between the social, cultural and the political, as expressed in and through bodies, and point to the unresolved nature of the relationship between narrative, discourse and the materiality of the body. L’article tend à répertorier les performances féministes et à les présenter sous l’angle d’une démarche de production artistique liée au travail des femmes. Ces performances, vues de prime abord comme des revendications – ce qu’elles sont – sont également l’aboutissement d’une réflexion, de montages techniques relevant d’un processus de travail.
