The Skills Gap Analysis, a recent survey among scholars describes the current distribution of (self-attested) practical text-processing skills and scholars' despair from the necessary skillset, as well as a perceived absence of "an entry point in(to) CLS education". We argue that corpus analysis is the entry point and why.

I use Singapore's own self-image of its sociopolitical trajectory since independence, as articulated recently by cabinet ministers as a dynamic balancing act between top-down strictures and bottom-up innovation, as a running metaphor/trope for a wide range of algorithms and methods with applications in Digital Humanities in my pedagogy at Singapore.

Issues of Social Justice, broadly conceived, are increasingly being included as a component in digital humanities scholarship or are the reason d'etre of the research itself. Equally, issues of ethics, privacy, and copyright are taking on greater prominence in DH scholarship. This short paper focuses on the creation of a course for the #dariahTeach platform, Social Justice in the Digital Humanities: Diversifying the Curriculum.

This poster showcases three deployments of virtual reality kits and 360º video design for undergraduate classrooms. It features three examples. The first utilizes a browser-based application that allows users to upload media and view them in a 360º environment. The other examples showcase VR storytelling techniques with consumer-grade 360º cameras.

Humanistic NLP articulates the multiple challenges facing interactions between NLP and humanities research and offers solutions to bridge this gap. Not merely an application of NLP in DH, it should be considered as an opportunity to engage more humanist scholars in the development and critical appraisal of NLP language resources.

This poster will describe the process of planning, UX testing and developing a workspace for groups who wish to work collaboratively in Gale Digital Scholar Lab, a platform for text mining and analysis. It will detail key learning outcomes, including feedback from an initial cohort of classroom users.

This poster will present the results of a 10-year study into the post-degree professional pathways of the graduates of Trinity College Dublin's MPhil programme in Digital Humanities and Culture. It will also look at curricular changes made because of, and wider questions about DH raised by, these findings.

Conflict simulations are a useful tool to confront students with the general problems of formalizing problems in abstracts models. In this showcase workshop participants will design games on a historical topic, play and compare their solutions.

This paper reflects on three interdisciplinary undergraduate digital humanities courses that featured study abroad trips to Rome, Italy and collaborative approaches to student-focused digital projects. Faculty presenters are housed in Digital Humanities, New Media, and Religious Studies, and co-developed courses that prioritize methods for researching, documenting, and visualizing placed-based discourse.

With this paper we would like to reflect on Proyecto Humboldt Digital's strategy for building digital capacities –that is, learning new skills and methodologies at an individual and organizational level– through collaboration. The international collaboration established in Proyecto Humboldt Digital (ProHD) has not been limited to carrying out a technical workflow but continuously organizes the exchange of research activities and experiences, and builds on a wide set of both internal (team oriented) and external (community oriented) training activities. Despite restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, short stays in both Havana and Berlin have taken place since 2019 as well as monthly meetings in virtual format; more recently, in 2022 an international DH conference and a workshop about digital scholarly editions took place in La Habana (Cuba) organized by the team members. During these encounters, we were able to define software requirements, present our main results, share the main issues and progress made in retrospect, and plan our following activities in order to publish online a collection of texts related to Alexander von Humboldt's trip to Cuba in the 19th century.

An early-stage study analysing the present and future of DH curricula, pedagogy, and practices in the Indian context. The project uses a case study method to comment on the pressing issues, and also proposes development of a curricular framework basis the data collected during the study.

This presentation will explore the characteristics of humanistic data interfaces and propose a design approach which centres the interrogation of computational modelling procedures. Discussion will revolve around the implementation and analysis of a proof of concept interface, and additionally touch on its relationship to digital humanities computing pedagogy.

This panel is about a DH education project in Korea. The goal is to collaborate in developing DH classes that cross individual universities and are open to participating institutes. We will present the overall design of this project, outline four subjects to be developed, and seek advice from overseas experts

While remote collaboration is not new in DH, it has had a profound impact on the DH research, education and community in the past couple of years due to the health, security and financial crises. If absorbed appropriately, it can also prove beneficial in overcoming the various environmental, geographical, mobility and other barriers in the future, making DH more resilient, inclusive and diverse. This is why the main objective of the proposed workshop is to develop a better understanding of the dynamics on the Digital Humanities work floor when researchers, teachers and/or professionals with different areas of competence engage in remote collaboration to solve humanities research questions, and to explore how education and training of humanities scholars, cultural heritage professionals and technical experts can help making remote collaboration across disciplines more efficient and effective, more creative and innovative, and more inclusive and rewarding for all participants. To this end, we invite submissions reporting on all aspects and stages of engaging in remote collaborative research and teaching in DH, including the obstacles encountered and solutions found. We are also welcoming position papers on the role of research infrastructures to better facilitate remote collaboration in DH.

We are developing a digital platform for annotated translations, adopting MQM, an emerging standard error typology, and TEI. Some graded certification exams have already been processed. We seek collaborators that also have authentic translation error data and want to use the same platform. Benefits include tools for teaching translation.

This poster presents a digital humanities study abroad program that brings undergraduate students to the UK to explore the intersections of technology, humanities, and the arts. Over four weeks, the students meet with curators, DH practitioners, and creatives. In addition to connecting students with professionals in the cultural heritage sector, the program challenges students to create small-scale digital humanities projects.
