Ülkemizde sayıca en fazla sayıda bulunan tarihi yapıların başında gelen geleneksel konutların korunması, büyük çoğunluğu kullanım dışı kalması sebebiyle zor olmaktadır. Ancak bu yapıların yaşatılması ve kullanılması hem korunmanın sağlanmasına hem de kent panoramasında sürdürülebilirliğe imkân vermektedir. Geleneksel konutların birçoğunun günümüz konfor koşullarına cevap verememesi bunların kullanım dışı kalmasına sebebiyet verirken yeniden işlevlendirilerek kullanılabilmeleri de sürdürülebilir mimariye sahip olduklarını göstermektedir. Çalışmada Çatalca’da bulunan geleneksel bir konut değerlendirilmiş, belgelemesi yapılmış ve meydana gelen bozulmalar tespit edilmiştir. Yerinde yapılan incelemeler ve karşılaştırmalı çalışmalar ile restitüsyon önerisi getirilmiş, uygun olan müdahale biçimleri belirlenerek restorasyon kararları verilmiştir. Yapının mevcut fonksiyonu ile kullanımı değerlendirilmiş fakat farklı bir işlev vererek kullanılmasının konutun yaşatılmasında daha etkin olacağı değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmada geleneksel bir konutun yaşatılabilmesi ile en doğru işlevin verilmesi amaçlanmış, konumu ve mevcut durumu değerlendirilerek konutun yaşatılması ön planda tutulmuştur. Yapılara yönelik işlev değişikliği önerilerinde nelere dikkat edilmesi gerektiği de ayrıca açıklamıştır.

Çağın zamanla değişen ihtiyaçlarına karşı yetersiz kalarak işlevsiz hale gelen tarihî yapılar, koruma yöntemleri kapsamında yeniden işlevlendirilerek yaşatılmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, tarihî kimliği ve yerel mimari özellikleri ile önemli bir değere sahip olan Tarihî Bitlis Belediye Binası’nın doğru işlevle yeniden değerlendirilmesine geleceğe aktarılabilmesine katkı sunmaktır. Yapının, Su ve Otobüs İşletmesi, Sanat Merkezi, Zabıta ve Trafik Amirliği olmak üzere kısa zaman aralıklarıyla farklı amaçlarda kullanıldığı; son durumunda ise Tarihî Bitlis Büryan Salonu adı verilerek özgün kimliğine uzak bir işlevlendirme yapıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde koruma kriterleri çerçevesinde arşiv taraması yapılarak ve yapıya dair katılımcı gözlem yöntemi kullanılarak işlev değişiklikleri kronolojik bir sıralamayla irdelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular için nitel araştırma yöntemleri doğrultusunda betimsel analiz yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak; işlevlendirme sürecinde tarihî mimari dokunun ve kentsel bellekte yarattığı anlamın yitirilmeden yaşatılabilmesi için işlev seçiminde saygılı ve uyumlu bir yaklaşım benimsenmesinin önemi açığa çıkarılmıştır.

This paper focuses on examining the transformation of the Beykoz Leather and Shoe Factory area, investigating the qualities of the buildings in the area, and evaluating them in the context of industrial archaeology. The study aimed to determine whether each of the four conservation methods determined by TICCIH and ERIH organizations and Rolf Höhmann (1992) are preferred for the buildings of the Beykoz Leather and Shoe Factory. Data collection was carried out in 5 years between 2018-2022. Data were collected through on-site observation, analysis of relevant documentation, and interviews with the Kundura Hafıza (Shoe Memory) unit established within the factory during multiple site visits. The original aspect and importance of the study is to conduct and comprehensively evaluate all three of the literature study, fieldwork, and data analysis within the scope of the study.

These buildings, which function as important documents for the period in which they were built, and which have managed to preserve their original qualities, have been abandoned as a result of various some factors and have lose their functionality. It is very important to continue to use these original structures, which have since lost their functionality, with re-functioning as opposed to a passive conservation approach. Architectural decision support systems, used to create a solution mechanism can assist architects in deciding on the most appropriate function option for building by systematizing the relationship between spatial analysis of the existing building stock and functional expectations. Accordingly, the results were observed by using fuzzy logic method in order to determine the most suitable function option before the design and construction phases for reuse of the building were started.

It is important for preserving our cultural heritage to ensure the social and cultural sustainability of historical buildings and hand down them to the next generations. Functioning historical buildings by protecting them also increases circulation to those structures and ensures that they are handed down to the future. In this study, the social sustainability of the Seljuk Bath and Ali Aydın House, located in the ancient city of Stratonikeia, were examined. The tracing method, which is a qualitative research method, was used in the study. While ensuring the sustainability of the buildings, the issue was also considered together with the historical environment they are in and a performance evaluation was conducted within the context of the historical environment. Since the bath and residential structures are both in the ancient city and both have become original structures, this study contributes to the literature on holistic conservation and sustainability of historical buildings.

“Architecture” is one of the tools that define sustainable cultural tourism. The sustainability of architecture which is an important source of culture is possible by conversation and restoration studies. It is observed that the most worn-out building group is residential buildings due to the lack of strict rules for historical settlements with this potential. A process based on the existence of traditional houses in historical settlements with their current function has been defined to be a tool, not a goal; particularly in cases where this becomes difficult. The Sille quarter which contains various cultural richness of Turkey and provides an adequate touristic axis for the province of Konya has been discussed. Fundamental decisions have been made to determine new functions that will define the model where functions other than residences will not cause transport capacity problems, social and cultural pressures; and prevent protected areas to become the decor of commercial activities.

This study concentrates on the value of the interior design profession and how a concept and scale approach can enable a holistic professional approach. The emphasis of the paper is on interior design education, particularly the second-year studio where the interior design process is learned. The adaptive reuse project building was in Çeşme, Turkey and designed as a museum for a chosen artist. The method involved understanding the design process as a whole, beginning from a larger scale that includes landscape, leading to the detailing scale. While the first semester emphasized abstract issues, the second semester focused on materialization of ideas into applicable decisions. The project process was divided into four stages within each semester. The resulting projects drawings and models represented advanced levels of knowledge regarding the stages and process of interior design, its components, as well as an understanding of larger and smaller scales inherently connected to the profession.

İnsanın var olduğu ve yaşamın sürdüğü her alanda hareket vardır. Mobil araçlar, şehir ölçeğinde hareketi sağlayan önemli toplu taşıma araçlarındandır. Sürekli bir döngü halinde olan bu araçlar zamanla ihtiyaçlara cevap verememekte ve gelişen teknolojiye bağlı olarak yenileri ile değiştirilmektedir. Atıl kalan ve artık kullanılmayan mobil araçlar ise çürümeye terkedilmektedir. Kullanılmayan mobil araçların dönüşümü ve yeniden kullanımı mümkündür. Araştırma kapsamında dünya üzerinde yeniden işlevlendirilen tramvay örnekleri incelenmiş, Konya eski tramvay vagonlarının tarihi ve teknik özelliklerine yer verilmiştir. Bu çalışmada Konya ilinde atıl vaziyette bulunan tramvay vagonlarının dönüştürülerek yeni bir işlev kazandırılmasına yönelik kullanıcıların lokasyona bağlı olarak fonksiyon tercihlerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma yönteminde mekânsal algı çalışmalarında geçerli ve güvenilir bulunan anlamsal farklılaşma ölçeklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Tramvay vagonlarının dönüşebileceği 5 farklı işlev grubu belirlenmiş olup Konya’da ikamet eden 77 kişiden çevrimiçi bir anket ile bu işlev önerilerini değerlendirmeleri istenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda tramvay kafe-restoran, tramvay sınıf-atölye-kütüphane ve tramvay büfe-manav-market olumlu karşılanırken; tramvay otel-yurt-pansiyon ve tramvay konut daha olumsuz değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca olası kullanıcıların şehir merkezinde en çok tramvay kafe-restoran, kampüs içerisinde ise en çok tramvay sınıf-atölye-kütüphane olmasını tercih ettikleri görülmüştür.

In Istanbul, which is one of the cities with the highest population growth in Turkey, changes have occurred in socio-economic conditions, public space requirements and supply-demand balance due to this increase. In the last 20 years, Shopping Malls and Life Centers (AVM) that provide socialization, culture-art activities and shopping opportunities are the most functional spaces that meet the public indoor space requirements on an urban scale in Istanbul to a certain extent. However, the recent construction of shopping mall investments, especially in a way that will create a surplus of demand regionally, has caused some shopping malls to turn into structures that lose their function and cannot meet the changing requirements. These idle buildings, which lost their function but continued their structural life, brought the concept of "Dead Shopping Mall" to the architectural literature. This study aims to get investors and decision-makers to think about the re-functioning of dead shopping malls in the public interest. The structural functions of dead AVMs that they are compatible with in terms of functional transformation due to reasons such as their location, structural and physical properties, dimensions are limited. According to the research carried out within the scope of this study, it has been determined that the number of examples of many dead shopping malls converted by foundation universities is gradually increasing. Although there are publications in the existing domestic literature on the transformation of dead shopping malls into various commercial functions, there have been no sources examining their transformation for universities. The study interprets this transformation with the method of a foundation university that pioneers the public transformation of dead shopping malls, the flow chart of original design steps with designer experiences, stain studies of floor plans of old and new functions, comparison of old-new interior and exterior building visuals and aims to contribute to the domestic literature in this sense. Kent merkezlerindeki tarihi dokularda günümüzde rant marjları çok yükselmiş, tarihi yapılara turizm ve ticaret işlevleri verme eğilimi artmıştır. Yeniden işlevlendirme adı verilen bu uygulama aslında terk edilmiş ya da özgün işlevini devam ettirmesi mümkün olmayan yapıları, yeni bir işlevle kullanımını sağlayarak gelecek kuşaklara aktarmak için geliştirilmiş bir koruma yöntemidir. Ancak bu yöntem günümüzde sanki bir tasarım modeli gibi kullanılarak tarihi yapıların özgün değerlerinden çok fazla kayıplara neden olmaktadır. Koruma yasasındaki esneklik, sayısal nicelik ve şahıs mülkiyetlerinde olmaları gibi sebeplerle yeniden işlevlendirilerek özgünlük değerlerinden en çok kayıplar veren yapılar geleneksel konutlardır. Tarihi yapılar ve bu yapıların oluşturduğu tarihi çevre, bölgeye özgü fiziksel ve kültürel özellikler sonucu oluşmuş geleneksel mimari örneklerdir. Özellikle geleneksel konutlar bulunduğu bölgedeki günlük yaşam ve kültürü hakkında önemli veriler sunan tarihi belgelerdir. Bu nedenle diğer tarihi yapılar gibi geleneksel konut yapılarının da özgünlüklerinin korunması ve gelecek kuşaklara aktarılması önem arz etmektedir. Yeniden işlevlendirme ile özgün değerlerini yitiren tarihi çevrelerden birisi de Antalya'nın önemli turizm merkezlerinden birisi olan Alanya’dır. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada yeniden işlevlendirme ile restorasyonu yapılan geleneksel Alanya konutları çalışma alanı olarak seçilmiş, bu bölgedeki uygulamaların olumlu ve olumsuz yönleri ortaya konularak tartışılmıştır.

19. yüzyıl sonlarında, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun Tanzimat Dönemi’nde tarımı geliştirmek üzere Numune Çiftliği kurma çalışmalarının bir sonucu olarak, toprağının kalitesi ve Çubuk Çayı’nın etrafında bulunması nedeniyle, Ankara’da Keçiören ilçesi sınırları içinde kalan alanda Çoban Mektebi inşa edilmiştir. Merkez bina dışındaki ağıllar ve diğer tesisler bugün mevcut değildir. Yapı bu haliyle, 2009 yılında tescillenmiş olup, anıtsal koruma derecesine sahiptir. Farklı kurumlar tarafından kullanmış olan, ancak günümüzde atıl olan yapı, 29.03.2018 tarihinde yangın geçirmiştir. Bu nedenle malzeme ve yapısal sorunları olan Çoban Mektebi, kapsamlı bir onarım gerektiren kültür varlığı durumundadır. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk ve Heyet-i Temsiliye üyelerinin kaldığı Çoban Mektebi, Milli Mücadele’nin Anadolu'ya yayılmasına tanık bir mekândır. Bu tanık olan mekânın korunması ve gelecek kuşaklara aktarılması için yeniden işlevlendirilmesi gerekmektedir. Ankara’daki Eski Çoban Mektebi’nin sahip olduğu anı, özgünlük ve belge değerleri nedeniyle, Başkent Üniversitesi, Güzel Sanatlar, Tasarım ve Mimarlık Fakültesi, Mimarlık Bölümü üçüncü sınıf öğrencileri tarafından 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde MİM 444 Rölöve ve Restorasyon dersi kapsamında ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada, mimarlık öğrencilerine tarihi çevre bilinci aşılanırken, Çoban Mektebi’nin sahip olduğu kültürel miras değerlerinin korunabilmesi için farkındalık düzeyinin arttırılması hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, yapının mevcut durumunun belgelenmesi ve Çoban Mektebi’nin yeniden işlevlendirme olanaklarının Ankara İl Kültür ve Turizm Müdürlüğü tarafından kullanılmak üzere araştırılmasıdır. Bu çalışma kapsamında Çoban Mektebi için Ankara İl Kültür ve Turizm Müdürlüğü’nün talepleri doğrultusunda, yeniden işlevlendirme önerileri geliştirilmiş ve hazırlanan çalışma raporu İl Kültür Müdürlüğü’ne sunulmuştur.

Hamamların varlığının ortaya çıkması ile insanlık tarihinde su artık sadece yaşamsal bir ihtiyaç olmaktan çıkmış olduğu yapılan araştırmalar ile anlaşılmıştır. Bu bilgiler sayesinde insanların ilk olarak Yunan medeniyetlerinde inşa ettikleri hamam yapılarını, sağlıklı yaşam için kullandıkları ve devam eden dönemlerde ise birer toplantı mekânları, spor alanları ve günlük hayatın vazgeçilmez parçaları olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan bu araştırmanın amacı, geçmişteki günlük hayatın önemli bir figürü olan hamamların, günümüzdeki kültürel ve teknolojik açıdan gelişim ve akabindeki değişimlerin etkisi nedeniyle eski ehemmiyetini kaybetmesi üzerine işlevi değiştirilerek mekân olarak devam edebilmesi üzerine saha incelemesinde mekân-malzeme bakımından incelenip literatüre kazandırılmasıdır. Hamamlar, medeniyetlere göre şekil ve fonksiyon değiştirse de sosyo-kültürel yaşantının önemli bir parçası olarak düşünülmüş, tasarlanmış ve inşa edilmişlerdir. İlk örneklerinde sağlık yapıları fonksiyonunda ve küçük ölçekte karşımıza çıkan hamamlar, ilerleyen teknoloji ve değişen çevresel şartlar neticesinde ölçek olarak büyümüş, ilave fonksiyonlar kazanmış ve kompleks yapılara dönüştüğü görülmektedir. Hamamlar, ortaya çıkış fikirleri bakımından benzerdirler. Ancak işlevleri ve fonksiyonları değişikliklere uğramış, gelişmişlerdir. Bu sayede, bir sonraki kültür üzerine yeni bir şeyler ekleyebilmiş ve günümüzdeki halini alabilmesini sağlamıştır. Sosyal yaşam çerçevesinde şekillendiği açıkça görülen hamamlar, dönemin ihtiyaçları ve yaşam tarzı konusunda net bilgiler de vermektedir. Bu bilgiler ışığında hem kültürel birikimler oluşmakta hem de daha geniş çapta araştırmalar yapılabilmektedir. Bu bağlamda, yapılan araştırmalar neticesinde Konya İli şehir merkezinde bulunan ve işlev değiştiren Meram Hasbey Hamamı hem malzeme hem de mekân bazında incelenip alan analizi yöntemiyle araştırılmıştır. Yapılan alan analizinde Meram Hasbey Hamamı’nda birçok bölümün kullanım dışı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yapının sadece iki bölümünün kullanıcılara hizmet vermesi, hem hamam mimarisinin algılanmamasına hem de yapının bütünüyle korunamamasına neden olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

Değişimin sürekliliğine ayak uyduramayan tarihi yapılar, zamanla işlevini yitirmektedir. İşlevi sona eren yapılar, önce terk edilmekte daha sonra hızlı bir yıkılma sürecine girmektedir. Bu yapıları, kullanılabilir hale getirmek, günlük yaşamın içine dâhil etmek ve yaşatarak korumak için yeniden işlevlendirme yöntemi kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada sürdürülebilir koruma anlayışının bir parçası olarak yeniden işlevlendirmenin önemini vurgulamak, yeniden işlevlendirmeyi teşvik etmek ve tarihi yapılara verilecek/verilmiş çağdaş işlevin yeterliliğini irdelemek amaçlanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, örnek olarak Edirne Rüstempaşa Kervansarayı’nın yeni işlevini irdelemek ve değerlendirmek hedeflenmektedir. Çalışmada öncelikle yapının tanımı, mimari özellikleri, geçmiş ve günümüz işlevi anlatılmıştır. Edirne Rüstempaşa Kervansarayı’na verilen yeni işlev; konum, mekânsal elverişlilik, mekânsal gereklilik ve mekânlar arası ilişki kurgusu açısından dört farklı çözümlemeyle ele alınmıştır. Belirtilen bu dört çözümleme; güçlü ve zayıf yanları, fırsat ve tehditleri olmak üzere incelenmiştir. SWOT analizi olarak isimlendirilen bu yöntemde, üstünlükler ve fırsatlar, yeniden işlevlendirmenin olumlu yönlerini oluştururken zayıflıklar ve tehditler olumsuz yönlerini meydana getirmektedir. Boyutsal yeterlilik için kaynak araştırması yapılarak boyut ve kapasiteyle ilgili kriterler belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen kriterlere göre mevcut mekânların boyutsal yeterliliği irdelenmiştir. Değerlendirmenin sonucunda otelde lobi, balo salonu, satış ofisleri, restoran, vestiyer ve servis merdiveni gibi mekanların bulunmadığı, bar ve toplantı salonu gibi mekanların yeni işleve elverişli olmadığı, müşteri ve servis sirkülasyonun çakıştığı, resepsiyon bankosunun olması gerekenden daha kısa olduğu, yatak odalarının boyutlarının standartların alt sınırını sağladığı, kahvaltı salonu ve odaların iyi ışık almadığı ortaya çıkmaktadır. Yeni işlevin olumlu ve olumsuz yönleri göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, işlevsel aksaklıklara rağmen yeni işlevin sürdürülebilir korumaya katkıları ile ekonomik, çevresel, sosyal, tarihi ve kültürel katkıları bulunmaktadır._________________________________________________________________________________The Evaluation of Edirne Rüstempaşa Caravanserai ReusingAbstractHistorical buildings that could not keep up with the continuity of change lose their functions by time. As for the buildings whose functions end, they are firstly abandoned and then their destruction process begins. Reusing method is used to make these buildings usable, include them into daily life and conserve. In this study, it is aimed to mention the importance of reusing as a part of sustainable conservation understanding, to encourage reusing and examine the sufficiency of contemporary function that has been given or will be given to historical buildings. In this content, as an example, it is aimed to examine and evaluate new function of Edirne Rustempasa Caravanserai. Firstly, the definition, architectural features, the past and contemporary function of the building are explained in the paper. SWOT analysis is used as an analysis method in the study. The new function given to Edirne Rustempasa Caravanserai is dealt with as strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats with four different analyses as location, spatial convenience and necessity, and relationship among spaces. While superiorities and opportunities are positive aspects of re-using, weaknesses and threats are negative aspects. Criteria related to dimension and capacity are determined by researching sources for dimensional sufficiency. According to determined criteria, dimensional sufficiency of available spaces are examined. As a result of evaluation, it is seen that there are not any spaces such as lobbies, ball rooms, sales offices, restaurants, coat checks and service stairs in the hotel and spaces used for bar and meeting room are not suitable for their functions. What is more, clients and service circulation overlap and reception counter is shorter than it should be. Also, it is seen that dimensions of bedrooms provides lower standard limits and breakfast hall and rooms cannot get enough light. When positive and negative results of reusing are taken into consideration, there are contributions to sustainable conservation and economic, environmental, historical, social and cultural contributions of reusing although functional problems.Keywords: Rüstempaşa Caravanserai, reusing, conservation

The concept of ‘Work’ and ‘Workplace’ started to change in recent decades in parallel with developments in information and communication Technologies. New ways of working have been defined as flexible, mobile and multi-locational. Co-working spaces have emerged worldwide as a new type of workspace concept. These places offer a flexible and appropriate work environment with various usage options. The aim of the study is to define the characteristics and development of the co-working space concept and analyzing the urban and spatial context as well as design criteria, the spatial solution, material and furniture selection of the selected case. In this study the case of ‘Kolektif House’ a co-working space, in Levent district in İstanbul has been selected, as the location can be defined as the central commercial district of the city. The space is created by refunctioning a part of an old factory-building which is evaluated as a sustainable devolepment project. The data used in this study is based on architectural drawings, visual materials, interviews, observations, as well as a literature review. The study demonstrates that changing work habits and user needs created new types of working place and in the selected case the created value in urban and spatial context by re-functioning an existed building was found to be positive. 14. yy.dan 19. yy.a kadar Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun egemenliği altında bulunan Sırbistan’ın bugünkü başkenti Belgrad’da günümüzde de Osmanlı kültürünün izleri hâlâ canlılığını korumaktadır. Öte yanda gerek savaşlar gerekse sonraki yıllarda Batılı şehircilik anlayışının benimsenmiş olması nedeniyle özgün karakterini koruyarak bugüne kadar gelebilmiş, Osmanlı mimarisine sahip yapıların sayısı çok fazla değildir. Bu bağlamda, tipik bir eski Osmanlı konutunun ev sahipliği yaptığı Vuk ve Dositej Müzesi, önce Osmanlı defterdarının ikametgâhı, ardından yüksekokul (lyceum) olarak kullanılmış olması bakımından zaman içerisinde yüklendiği yeni işlevlerle varlığını devam ettirmiş bir kültürel miras örneğidir. Sırp kültürünün çok önemli figürlerinden, ilk Millî Eğitim Bakanı Dositej Obradovic, dönemin en önemli yükseköğrenim kurumu olan bu okulda öğretmenlik yapmış, Sırp dili reformunu gerçekleştiren Vuk Karadžić ise Obradovic’in öğrencisi olarak bu okulda öğrenim görmüştür. Giriş katı Obradovic’e, üst katı ise Karadžić’e adanmış olan iki katlı müze, Sırp ve Osmanlı kültürlerinin gelecek nesillere aktarılmasına önemli rol oynamaktadır. Dolayısıyla, bu çalışmanın amacı, örnek olay (durum) çalışması yoluyla Vuk ve Dositej Müzesi örneği üzerinden, Müze’nin tarihi boyunca Osmanlı ve Sırp kültürlerindeki etkileşim ve değişimleri göstermektir. Araştırmanın sonuçları mevcut yapı stoklarına yeni işlevler kazandırmanın kültürel mirası korumanın etkili bir yolu olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.
