In the papers Iterates of Stancu Operators, via Contraction Principle (2002), respectively Iterates of Bernstein Operators, via Contraction Principle (2004), author I. A. Rus studied the existence of fixed points for Stancu operators Pn,α,β and Bernstein operators Bn. The aim of this paper is to find conditions for which the Stancu operators Pn,α,β are contractions on the graph, in order to demonstrate that the contraction principle can be applied for the study of the existence of fixed points for iterates of Stancu operators. The method used for this paper is the spectral method, which was also used in the paper Over-iterates of Bernstein-Stancu operators (2007), authors Gonska, Piţul and Raşa. The study began with finding constant C∈[0,1[ that would satisfy the inequality ||Pn,α,β2 (f)-Pn,α,β (f)|| ≤ C ||Pn,α,β (f)-f||, for any f∈ C[0,1]. The conclusion is that there are conditions for which the Stancu operators are contractions on the graph, and the methods used for the study of the existence of fixed points of their iterates can also be extended to the study of the existence of fixed points of other linear operators.

The objective of this paper is to generalize and improve some results in fixed point theorems in both complete metric space and Menger space. These results are generalizations of the analogous ones recently proved by Khojasteh [5], Demma [1], Yildirim [13], where we establish a dynamic information about their other fixed points if there exist i.e the distance between two fixed point in case of metric space and their equivalent in probabilistic metric space. Some illustrative examples are furnished, which demonstrate the validity of the hypotheses. As an application to our main result, we derive a uniqueness fixed point theorem for a self-mapping under strong conditions.

In this paper we establish a result in the fixed point theory of multivalued mappings. This is done by combining three prevalent trends in fixed point theory. Some consequences of the main theorem are discussed. We also provide an illustrative example. The results are derived on metric spaces with a relation.

This paper surveys regarding solutions of linear and nonlinear integral equations through fixed point theorem. Banach's contraction mapping principle is the most widely applied fixed point theorem in all of analysis with special applications to the theory of integral equations. Over a decade researchers have generalized the definition of a metric space and using the technique of fixed point have found solutions to many linear and nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations.

In this paper several fixed point theorems for generalized weakly contractive mappings in a metric space setting are proved. The set of generalized weakly contractive mappings considered in this paper contains the family of weakly contractive mappings as a proper subset. Fixed point theorems for single and multi-valued mappings, approximating scheme for common fixed point for some mappings, and fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings are presented. It extends the work of several authors including Bose and Roychowdhury.

In this paper we prove some useful fixed point theorems and common fixed point theorems for a class of non-linear mappings acting on locally convex topological vector space with supporting examples

The purpose of this paper is to prove a general unique common fixed point theorem for two pairs of mappings using Hausdorff - Pompeiu metric, which generalizes, in a correct form, the results from [H. Bouhadjera, A. Djoudi and B. Fisher, 2008] and extends Theorem 2.4 [H. Bouhadjera and C. Godet, 2011], for occasionally (f,F) - weakly commuting mappings.

In this paper, we propose and analyse an iterative algorithm for the approximation of a common solution for a finite family of k-strict pseudo-contractions and two finite families of generalized equilibrium problems in the setting of Hilbert spaces. Strong convergence results of the proposed iterative algorithm together with some applications to solve the variational inequality problems are established in such setting. Our results generalize and improve various existing results in the current literature.

In this paper, we obtain some fixed point theorems for dominated mappings satisfying locally contractive conditions on a closed ball in a left K-sequentially O-complete ordered quasi-partial metric space and in a right K-sequentially O-complete ordered quasi-partial metric space, respectively. Our results improve several well known results.

In this paper, we establish the existence and uniqueness of solution for a class of initial value problem for implicit fractional differential equations with Caputo fractional derivative. The arguments are based upon the Banach contraction principle, Schauder' fixed point theorem and the nonlinear alternative of Leray-Schauder type. As applications, two examples are included to show the applicability of our results.

The aim of this paper is to prove a common fixed point theorem for a pair of weakly compatible mappings in fuzzy metric space by using the (CLRg) property. An example is also furnished which demonstrates the validity of our main result. As an application to our main result, we present a fixed point theorem for two finite families of self mappings in fuzzy metric space by using the notion of pairwise commuting. Our results improve the results of Sedghi, Shobe and Aliouche [A common fixed point theorem for weakly compatible mappings in fuzzy metric spaces, Gen. Math. 18(3) (2010), 3-12 MR2735558].

In this paper we define the concept of weakly Reich-contractive operator and give a fixed point result for this type of operators. Then we study the data dependence for this new result.

Recently, Azam, Arshad and Beg [ Banach contraction principle on cone rectangular metric spaces, Appl. Anal. Discrete Math. 2009] introduced the notion of cone rectangular metric spaces by replacing the triangular inequality of a cone metric space by a rectangular inequality. In this paper, we introduce the notion of c-chainable cone rectangular metric space and we establish a fixed point theorem for uniformly locally contractive mappings in such spaces. An example is given to illustrate our obtained result.
