Earthquakes are devastating phenomena that affect regions around the world. When they do occur, the media plays a crucial role in informing the public about the extent of the damage, loss of life, and relief efforts. However, how events are referred to in the media can impact public perception and understanding. In this article, we focus on how Le Monde and Le Point, two influential French newspapers, addressed the earthquakes in Italy and Nepal. This article examines how two renowned French newspapers named and covered the earthquakes that struck Italy and Nepal. By analysing the articles published by these journals, we aim to explore the linguistic choices and naming strategies used to report on these natural disasters. The objective is to better understand how the French written press presents and relates to such important events and to examine the implications of these naming choices on public perception. In times of crisis, the choice of words and the way events are designated in the media are critical in shaping public opinion and emotions. The use of specific terms can evoke different images and feelings, influencing readers' interpretations and responses. Therefore, it is essential to examine how Le Monde and Le Point approached the naming of these earthquakes to gain insights into the media's role in framing such events.

This paper represents a socio-economic study on the tourist activity in Sighișoara, being focused on the main annual event that characterizes the area – Festivalul Sighișoara Medievală. The natural and anthropic tourism potential of Sighișoara Municipality was considered the main factor, which has as central element the medieval history of the locality and the emblematic architecture dating back to that period. Cultural tourism, which is defining for the Sighișoara area, has a number of specific features that are added to the usual tourist services packages (transport, accommodation, food). For the Sighișoara area, the symbiosis between the culture of Tourism and the culture of Saxon traditions highlights the regional specificity and creates new patrimonial perspectives. The present study focuses on the time period 2019–2021 and also tracks the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on the tourist activity in the area.

Suicide and attempted suicide are a major cause of death worldwide, with the highest percentage being male at a young age. In Romania, suicide by shooting has a low incidence rate due to restricted access to firearms. A clinical case study was performed on a 27-year-old patient, hospitalized and treated at the Neurosurgery Department of the County Emergency Clinical Hospital, Constanta for a craniocerebral wound by shooting, following a suicide attempt. The patient was brought to the emergency department for a shot craniocerebral wound, with a submental entry point and a left frontal exit point. The patient's condition was good, he was conscious, cooperative, without neurological deficits present. Examination of the craniocerebral CT reveals left frontal intraparenchymal hematoma, small right frontal contusions, supratentorial subarachnoid hemorrhage, left frontal-parieto-temporal subdural hematoma blade and left facial and left fronto-parietal left hemimachial fractures, with comminution at the level from left frontal and maxillary hemosinus left frontaltemporal epicranial hematoma, bilateral submandibular subcutaneous emphysema and pneumocephaly. It is operated surgically, performing a scylectomy and repairing the dural defect with a favorable post-operative evolution.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) and heart failure (HF) are often associated and each disease independently increases the risk for the other. It is well recognized that diabetes is a risk factor for mortality among individuals with heart failure. The risk of incident HF among patients with DM increases with older age, obesity, retinopathy, hypertension, coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, nephropathy, longer duration of DM and higher N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) value. The treatment of each pathology in the presence of the other raise difficulties in the clinical practice. First-line treatment of DM in patients with HF should include metformin and SGLT2 inhibitors; conversely, saxagliptin, pioglitazone and rosiglitazone are not recommended in patients with DM and HF.

Introduction. Ischemic colitis develops due to acute reduced blood flow through the colon and appearance of secondary reperfusion injuries. Patients dependent on renal replacement therapies are at highest risk because of frequent periods of hypotension and hypoperfusion, related to haemodialysis. Case presentation. A 66-year-old female patient, with history of stage 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD), presented for haemorrhagic shock following occult gastrointestinal bleeding and secondary acute posthaemorrhagic anaemia. Because of multiple systemic dysfunctions, she was admitted into the intensive care unit (ICU). Continuous renal replacement therapy with cytokine filter was performed, to reduce the level of circulating inflammatory markers. A computed tomography examination was performed, that established the diagnosis of ischemic colitis and she underwent subtotal colectomy with terminal ileostomy. The evolution was favourable, and after 10 days she was transferred from the ICU to the surgical ward. After another 5 days, she returned to the previous functional status and was discharged. Conclusions. Ischemic colitis can lead to lower gastrointestinal bleeding and even to haemorrhagic shock, especially in patients with chronic kidney disease, intermittent hemodialysis, atherosclerotic diseases, heart failure and diabetes mellitus.

Despite considerable improvements in medical care over the past 25 years, cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a major public health challenge. Dyslipidemias are one of the topics of greatest interest in cardiology. Decreasing serum cholesterol level is a central objective for preventing cardiovascular events. The current European Society of Cardiology guidelines recommend evaluation of the cardiovascular risk, treatment decisions being based on this risk, and clinician–patient discussion about the risk (shared decision making).

Primary extragonadal germ-cell tumors (EGCTs) are a rare group of neoplasms, that can exist anywere along the midline of the body, without the evidence of a primary gonadal tumor. Their morphology varies widely and includes teratoma, seminoma, yolk sac tumor, embryonal carcinoma, choriocarcinoma, and mixed GCTs. The ethiopathogenesis of EGCT is poorly understood, existing multiple theories. Diagnosis is often difficult, but an accurate one should be made in order to apply a correct management.

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is the virus responsible for the most common and widespread sexually-transmitted infection. Most sexually active people will acquire at least one type of HPV in their lifetime and some may be repeatedly infected. In most cases, HPV infection is transient and asymptomatic, but when the infection persists it can cause benign diseases, precancerous lesions and malignancies of various locations. Low risk HPV types can produce proliferative lesions either in the skin or mucosa, whereas high risk types possess carcinogenic potential. This paper is a review of the latest data in the literature regarding the clinical manifestations of HPV infections, current prevention and therapeutic possibilities.

Introduction. Mesh reinforcement is generally considered the standard of care in hernia repair. Infection is a common complication following hernia repair. Infection of the mesh is a complex problem. Knowledge of new treatment strategies is necessary for surgeons performing abdominal wall reconstruction. Case presentation. We present the case of a 68-year-old woman, who presented with a non-traumatic entero-atmospheric fistula at the site of the hernia repair, which had been done 2 years previously through the implantation of a dual mesh. The fistula has appeared one year previously. The treatment consisted in a complete removal of the infected mesh and segmentary enterectomy. The abdominal wall was repaired through a tissular procedure and the skin was left to close per secundam. The postoperative outcome was favorable. Conclusions. Following excision of infected mesh, multi-staged abdominal wall reconstruction can be considered. Biologic or biosynthetic mesh is recommended when repairing incisional hernias following excision of infected mesh and likely represent the patient’s best chance for a definitive hernia repair. Negative pressure wound therapy closure should be considered in higher-risk patients. Mesh infection is a complex complication that is commonly encountered by surgeons performing hernia repair. Prevention through patient optimization should be performed whenever appropriate. However, when patients develop a mesh infection, most of them will require a complete mesh excision and recurrent hernia repair.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with unknown etiology and incompletely elucidated pathogenesis. It implies the loss of tolerance to the inner self, which leads to perturbations in the immune system, with production of autoantibodies. SLE is characterized by multisystem involvement, the evolution of these patients being directly influenced by the severity of organ complications. The most common pattern seen in patients with SLE is a combination of musculoskeletal, skin, renal, central nervous system, cardiovascular, hematologic and gastrointestinal manifestations. The gastrointestinal symptoms are commonly seen in patients with SLE, the main pathological mechanisms involved being mesenteric vasculitis, intestinal pseudo-obstruction and protein losing enteropathy. Neurological manifestations are also frequent among these patients and they correlate with a high rate of morbidity and mortality. This review aims to analyze the correlation between gastrointestinal and neurological manifestations in SLE and their impact on the quality of life.

Introduction. The continuous process of broadening the indications of laparoscopy has determined a reevaluation of its risks and benefits in extensive adhesiolysis. The objective of the study. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy and the associated risks of the laparoscopic adhesiolysis in the surgical management of the intestinal obstruction secondary to postoperative peritoneal adhesions. Material and methods. 17 patients with intestinal obstruction secondary to postoperative peritoneal adhesions admitted to the Surgical Department of the “Sf. Pantelimon” Emergency Hospital from Bucharest, Romania, between January 2014 and January 2018, were treated using laparoscopic surgery. The pneumoperitoneum was made using the open technique, far from the skin scars secondary to previous surgical interventions. After identifying the postoperative peritoneal adhesions as the cause of intestinal obstruction, the entire peritoneal cavity was rigorously inspected. Results. The laparoscopic exploration of the peritoneal cavity allowed for a clear identification of the cause and the level of the intestinal obstruction for all 17 patients included in the present study, 14 of them being treated by simple laparoscopic adhesiolysis, in 3 cases the conversion to laparotomy being necessary. The morbidity rate was low with no cases of death. The mean hospitalization stay was 5 days. Conclusions. The laparoscopic surgery represents an efficient therapeutic alternative to the classical methods for the treatment of the intestinal obstruction secondary to postoperative peritoneal adhesions, constituting a diagnostic and therapeutic tool that has the benefits of the minimally invasive techniques.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the patients’ quality of life. In psoriatic patients, the quality of life is generally low due to multiple co-morbidities, treatments, stigma and misperceptions about this condition. Sexual dysfunction, in both women and men, is a comorbidity that may impact the quality of life of these patients, in addition to those listed above. Because the recognition of sexual dysfunction by the patient can be difficult and considered shameful, it is necessary for the family doctor to intervene to improve the sexual health of these patients.

Budd-Chiari syndrome ,hepatic vein obstruction ,anticoagulants ,trans-jugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt ,Medicine ,Medicine (General) ,R5-920 - Abstract
Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) is a rare disease characterized by obstruction of the hepatic veins, regardless of mechanism and degree, in the absence of heart disease, pericardial disease or sinusoidal obstructive syndrome. In relation to etiology, BCS is classified in primary BCS, when it is caused by an intravascular thrombosis, and secondary BCS, when the obstruction is due to extrinsic compression or tumor invasion. The positive diagnosis is based on patient’s medical history, clinical examination, and paraclinical investigations. The clinical picture is polymorphous. The most common signs and symptoms include fever, abdominal pain and abdominal tenderness on palpation, hepatomegaly, ascites, edema of the lower limbs, gastrointestinal bleeding and hepatic encephalopathy. Laboratory tests can detect the degree of liver injury, with decreased serum albumin, altered coagulation, hepatic cytolysis and cholestasis, while imaging investigations may reveal the venous obstruction. Regarding treatment, all patients with BCS are recommended systemic anticoagulation to reduce the risk of thrombus extension and prevention of further thrombotic episodes. Depending on patient’s individual characteristics, angiography with or without stent, thrombolysis, trans-jugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt and liver transplant are to be considered. The syndrome’s severity and prognosis are dictated by the underlying disease, ranging from a possible curability to quick death.

The main objective of this study is to highlight the issues of pathos in the media discourse, especially in the first press article published in France on the earthquake in Italy 2016. To achieve this goal, the approach is based on the results empirical analysis of the articles on the earthquake that took place on August 24, 2016 in Italy, as described by two French national daily newspapers: Le Monde and Le Point. We conduct our analysis on the first article published in the dailies Le Monde and Le Point, on August 24, 2016, the day of the earthquake. We aim to grasp how the concept of catastrophe is rendered by lexical means. In addition, we try to emphasize how emotions are transmitted not only by subjective means, such as qualifying adjectives, but also by objective means, such as the factual data presented. The theoretical framework is provided by work on rhetorical strategies (Aristotle 2007, Perelman, 1992) and on the study of emotions (Plantin, 1997, 1998, 2004; Tétu, 2004).

Introduction: Primary cardiac tumours are very rare neoplasms, usually with a late diagnosis in clinical practice, because of nonspecific symptoms and clinical signs. Case presentation: We report the case of a 28-year-old woman, who presented for right flank and right iliac fossa pain, radiating to the right lower limb. The pain was progressive and had had its onset 3-4 days previously. The patient was known with renal calyceal microlithiasis (with renal colic in the history) and mild iron deficiency anaemia, and had a medical history of recurrent miscarriages. Physical examination revealed: sinus bradycardia (50-54 bpm), low-grade fever, and positive Giordano sign on the right side. The pain was considered as right renal colic and analgesics and antispasmodics were administered. Blood tests revealed normocytic, hypochromic anaemia and a mild inflammatory syndrome. Abdominal ultrasound revealed bilateral renal microlithiasis and also a triangular, hypoechoic area in the right kidney parenchyma, with no colour Doppler ultrasound signals. Echocardiography revealed a left atrial mass with a diameter of 1.5 cm, hyperechoic, heterogeneous, mobile, attached to the interatrial septum. Chest-abdomen-pelvis CT confirmed the presence of the cardiac mass, as well as an area of right renal infarction. Anticoagulant therapy with low molecular weight heparin was initiated. The patient was referred to the cardiovascular surgery department, where the cardiac mass was removed and sent for histological examination, which confirmed the diagnosis of left atrial myxoma. The patient had a favourable evolution. Conclusions: The presence of sinus bradycardia in a young patient, without known cardiac diseases, led to the necessity of an echocardiography, which revealed the left atrial mass. Peripheral embolization with right kidney infarction represented the clinical onset of the cardiac tumour. In this patient, who presented with abdominal and right flank pain, the previous known diagnosis of renal microlithiasis was initially misleading. Cardiac tumours have unspecific symptoms and the first manifestations could be due to the embolization of tumour fragments in the periphery, mimicking, thus, other disorders.

Colonoscopy is a common diagnostic procedure for colon. Colonic perforation is a well-known iatrogenic complication of diagnostic colonoscopy. However, appendiceal involvement with inflammation or perforation is extremely rare and only a few cases of post-colonoscopy appendicitis have been reported so far. We describe a series of four cases operated in our clinic for acute appendicitis that developed in young age, shortly after colonoscopic examination for another pathology (irritable bowel syndrome, diverticular colonic disease, left iliac fossa and left flank pain).

Sigmoid volvulus happens when the sigmoid wraps around itself and its mesentery. Sigmoid volvulus accounts for 2% to 50% of all colonic obstructions. This pathology generally affects adults, and it is more common in males. The etiology is multifactorial and controversial; the main symptoms are diffuse abdominal pain, distention and constipation, while the pregnant signs are abdominal distention and tenderness. Laboratory findings are not pathognomonic: abdominal X-ray radiographs show a dilated sigmoid colon and multiple intestinal air-fluid levels, abdominal CT and MRI demonstrate a whirled sigmoid mesentery. Flexible endoscopy reveals a spiral sphincter-like twist of the mucosa. The diagnosis of sigmoid volvulus is established by clinical, radiological, endoscopic, and sometimes operative findings. Although flexible endoscopic detorsion is advocated as the primary treatment choice, emergency surgery is required for patients who present with peritonitis, bowel gangrene, or perforation, or for patients whose non-operative treatment is unsuccessful. Although emergency surgery includes various non-definitive or definitive procedures, resection with primary anastomosis is the most commonly recommended procedure. After a successful non-operative detorsion, elective sigmoid resection and anastomosis is recommended. The overall mortality is 10% to 50%, while the overall morbidity is 6% to 24%.

renal cysts ,Bosniak classification ,malignant transformation ,Medicine ,Medicine (General) ,R5-920 - Abstract
One of the most frequent kidney pathologies encountered in daily practice is represented by the presence of renal cysts. Most of them are asymptomatic and are found accidentally during periodical check-ups because they don’t have clinical signs until they grow and compress the surrounding organs. We have reviewed the current data regarding this pathology, in order to underline the risk of malignant transformation and its impact on the patient’s life. It is estimated that the prevalence rate of renal cysts in the general population is approximately 10% and it increases with age.Imaging investigations, such as contrast tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, are essential for establishing the cysts characteristics, especially when ultrasonography raises the suspicion of a modified renal cyst, as well as in guiding the therapeutical protocol. The Bosniak classification is based on contrast tomography scans and has allowed the standardization of the kidney cysts, considering their characteristics. More attention should be given to Bosniak IIF and III cystic renal masses, which contain thickened walls and more septa, but no enhanced nodules/soft tissue components, because more than half of these cysts can have a malignant component.

Introduction. In the last five years (from 1st of January 2013 to 31st of December 2017), we noticed 6 cases of rectal cancer, developed in patients who underwent stoma reversal more than two years before, for different pathologies. The objective of the study. That was a starting point to analyze whether the restoration of a total digestive diversion, well known to improve life quality, also increases the risk of malignancy. Material and methods. We studied all the patients with colostomy reversal hospitalized in the General Surgery Clinic of the Emergency Clinical Hospital “Sfântul Pantelimon“, Bucharest, Romania, in a ten years interval (1st of January 2008 – 31st of December 2017), no matter the primary cause of colostomy was. Results. Our study showed that stoma reversal increase the risk of developing a rectal malignancy two years from restoration. Conclusions. We recommend annual control by recto‑sigmoidoscopy both in patients with terminal permanent colostomy and in those with stoma reversal, in order to early discover a subsequent rectal cancer.

Introduction. Focal liver lesions represent one of the main indications of ultrasound-guided liver biopsy. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the advantages and risks of liver biopsy, and to highlight the importance of a close follow-up in the prevention of postprocedural complications. Methods. We have retrospectively analyzed a number of 52 patients, who underwent liver biopsies in the Clinical Emergency Hospital of Bucharest, Romania, after being diagnosed with various types of focal liver lesions through ultrasound scanning. Results. Regarding the quality of the bioptic samples obtained: 98% of them were diagnostic, only 2% being nondiagnostic, mainly due to the tissue necrosis found within the tumor. The majority of the cases selected for the study had multiple liver lesions (70%), the rest of 30% had single lesions identified by ultrasound scanning. After histopathological analysis, in 89 % of the cases the lesion proved to be malignant (of which 70% were hepatic metastases and 30% were liver carcinomas), the rest of 11% were benign. This last category included hepatic adenomas and focal nodular hyperplasia, identified in young female population. Our study did not reveal any relation between the location of the lesion within the liver and the number of needle passes needed in order to obtain viable biopsy specimens (P = 0.16). Of all the cases that underwent liver biopsy, only 4% had complications, mainly minor bleeding and only 1% major bleeding and transitory hypotension. There was no case of death registered. Conclusions. Ultrasound guided percutaneous liver biopsy is a fast, economical and user-friendly procedure, frequently used in the diagnosis of focal liver lesions. The success rate of the biopsy in obtaining viable samples is high and it depends more on the structure of the lesion and the materials used, rather than on the anatomical localization of the lesion within the liver. Severe complications can be avoided if a close follow-up of the patients is performed.

The aim of this paper was to analyze the prognostic features, clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of primary renal sarcomas. A thorough review of the literature was made using the PubMed database. Sarcomas of the kidney are very rare malignant tumors, with a very poor prognosis compared with the other urogenital sarcomas. Several histological types have been reported, with the most common type being leiomyosarcoma. Besides complete surgical resection with wide margins, anatomical, histological, molecular and genetic factors should be taken into consideration regarding the prognosis.

Introduction. Takayasu’s arteritis or pulseless disease is a systemic inflammatory disease of an unknown etiology, affecting medium and large arteries and their branches, leading to stenosis, occlusions, or aneurysmal degeneration. It is more frequent in young Asian women. Case presentation. We present a rare case of Takayasu’s disease in a young woman, who initially developed an acute ischemic cholecystitis. Ischemia is one of the mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of acute acalculous cholecystitis. As this mechanism is most often involved in elderly people, such an uncommon finding at young age should be a reason to suspect a vasculitis with small vessel occlusion. Conclusions. Acute cholecystitis in this patient was the first onset sign of Takayasu’s arteritis. An acute acalculous cholecystitis at young age could be of ischemic origin and should also be considered as a possible epiphenomenon of a generalized vasculitis disease.

hepatorenal syndrome ,liver disease ,cirrhosis ,ascites ,Medicine ,Medicine (General) ,R5-920 - Abstract
Hepatorenal syndrome (HRS) is defined as a functional renal failure in patients with liver disease that features morphologically intact kidneys, where regulatory mechanisms have minimized glomerular filtration and maximized tubular resorption and urine concentration. The syndrome occurs almost exclusively in patients with ascites. Type 1 HRS develops as a consequence of a severe reduction of effective circulating volume due to both an extreme splanchnic arterial vasodilatation and a reduction of cardiac output. Type 2 HRS is characterized by a stable or slowly progressive renal failure so that its main clinical consequence is not acute renal failure, but refractory ascites, and its impact on prognosis is less negative. Liver transplantation is the most appropriate therapeutic method, nevertheless, only a few patients can receive it. The first line treatment includes terlipressin plus albumin. Renal function recovery can be achieved in less than 50% of patients and a considerable decrease in renal function may reoccur even in patients who have been responding to therapy over the short term. Other therapies include transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts (TIPS), dialysis and peritoneovenous shunts which are most commonly done when patients are awaiting a liver transplant or when there is the possibility of improvement in liver function.

Introduction. Iatrogenic injury of the urinary tract in women undergoing pelvic surgeries is one of the most feared complications and an important source of significant morbidity. Moreover, they cause a lot of anxiety to both patient and surgeon and they also create many legal concerns. The most commonly affected organs are the ureter, bladder and urethra. Urologic injury during obstetrics and gynecologic surgery should always be a matter of prevention, but there are situations in which prevention fails. With this article we intend to raise the awareness on potential situations leading to iatrogenic urinary tract lesions during obstetrics and gynecology surgery. CASE Cases presentation. Three different cases of iatrogenic injuries at various sites of the urinary tract during pelvic surgeries are presented and preventive and treatment measures are discussed. Conclusions. Most iatrogenic urinary tract lesions are prone to occur during difficult surgeries, but a significant number of iatrogenic injuries are made during routine interventions, even by the most trained surgeons. Therefore, preventing and recognizing iatrogenic urinary tract injuries is of highest importance for all surgeons performing interventions in the pelvic area.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic autoimmune disorder that causes progressive, symmetric, erosive destruction of cartilage and bone, which is usually associated with autoantibodies production. It is common that articular signs and symptoms develop long before extraarticular signs, but sometimes lung involvement is the first manifestation of RA and the most aggressive feature of the disease. Respiratory symptoms can precede the articular symptoms in 10–20% of cases. However, they may be masked by the poor functional status from joint disease or chronic inflammation. The pulmonary involvement can be due to the chronic inflammation caused by the disease or it can be secondary to immune-modulating medication. The pulmonary disease due to the disease itself includes: interstitial lung diseases, airways involvement (large and small airways), pleural involvement, rheumatoid pulmonary nodules and vascular pathology. The most used medication in patients with RA, such as metotrexate, leflunomide, TNF alpha blockers, but also other used drugs, may cause pulmonary diseases.

Colonic intussusception in adults is extremely rare, accounting for about 5% of all cases of intussusception. The telescoping of a proximal segment in the lumen of the adjacent segment has a classic classical triad in the symptomatology of children: abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea and palpable abdominal mass. In the adult patient, the symptoms are almost absent, and rarely they consist of constipation, bloody stool, or a malignant pathology that accompanies intussusception, weight loss, and anemia. We present the case of a 86-year-old patient who underwent a surgical procedure for repairing a rectal prolapse; intraoperatively, we discovered a sigmoid intussusception for which we performed a segmentary sigmoidectomy, repairing the rectal prolapse by rectosacropexy with alloplastic mesh.

Cardiac hepatopathy is the term that describes liver damage due to cardiac diseases. The cardiac hepatopathy is divided into congestive hepatopathy, due to passive venohepatic congestion, and acute cardiogenic liver injury, due primarily to acute cardio-circulatory failure. Congestive hepatopathy can be determined by chronic heart failure, constrictive pericarditis, tricuspid regurgitation and right-sided heart failure. On the other hand, acute myocardial infarction, acute decompensated heart failure or myocarditis may cause acute cardiogenic liver injury. Monitoring of liver function tests, such as -glutamyltransferase, alkaline phosphatase and liver-derived metabolites, such as bilirubin, is an effective way to assess liver function. Also, the measurement of serum aminotransferases concentration is increasingly being studied, in order to identify the correlation between their values and the extent of the cardiac damage. Clinical examination, laboratory tests, and imaging tests are necessary for the diagnosis of cardiac cirrhosis in patients with heart failure. Patients with cardiac cirrhosis may be asymptomatic, but present abnormal liver biochemistry. Patients with congestive hepatopathy have elevated cholestasis markers, such as bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, and -glutamyltransferase, while elevated levels of aminotransferases and lactate dehydrogenase are found in acute cardiogenic liver injury. There is no specific treatment for congestive hepatopathy, the treatment is that of the underlying cardiac disease. Restoration of the cardiac output and hemodynamics is the most important in the management of the acute cardiogenic liver injury.

Phytobezoar is a rare cause of small bowel obstruction. This pathology represents 0.4%-4% of all mechanical bowel obstructions. Symptoms are similar to other small bowel obstructions. The most common localisation of the obstruction is represented by the terminal ileum. Phytobezoars are to be considered in patients who have had gastric surgery, a high fiber intake or psychiatric disorders. Also, multiple sclerosis has shown to affect bowel motility, which is important to our case. Surgery is always indicated. A low fiber diet and prokinetics are indicated for the prevention of this pathology. We present the case of a 43-year-old female who was admitted to the ICU following a car accident. The patient presented bowel obstruction symptoms (nausea and vomiting, bloating, not passing gas and severe abdominal pain) the 5th day after admission and was transferred to the operating room for exploratory laparotomy. Intraoperatively, we discovered a phytobezoar which was confirmed by the histopathological exam.

Organizational skill is a transversal competence, which is formed through concrete life experiences. On the labour market, organizations want high-performing employees with developed organizational skills. The approach of training the organizational competence is inductive, starting from personal life, competence formed through voluntary exercise, and continuing by practicing and improving it during school life and at work, through ways offered by academic education and management, but also through organizational skill management. This paper aims to analyse the concept of organizational skill, from the perspective of mental mechanisms involved in its formation, as well as human resource management strategies, applied at the level of university education. Approaching the organizational skill from both perspectives, the competence will lead to a new lifestyle and workstyle oriented towards performance and success. The level of organizational skill of students was analysed, based on a questionnaire to assess organizational competence and a practical test of organization. Following the analysis of the results, it was observed that a small number of young people are very well organized, and their resistance to change is quite high. Finally, the study offers possible school management strategies for training and developing organizational skills, leading to a successful lifestyle and work.

Climate change is becoming more acute, including in terms of individual perception. Forest, as an ecosystem, has a special role to play in mitigating climate change, protecting the soil, water and air. There are forests of scientific interest, preservation of the Eco fund and forest Geno fund, as well as recreational forests, so that the ecological functions are fulfilled in the optimum. Also, alongside the social function, green energy generation is one of the main attributes of the forest. In addition to preserving biodiversity, the forestry administration has as objectives the provision of the necessary resources for the short, medium and long-term development of local communities. Forest management that harmoniously combines ecological, economic and social functions cannot be sustained, at least in the information age, without relying on information technology. This article aims to address the issue of information technology in the forest administration, identifying needs and providing viable, high quality, open source solutions.

Engineering (General). Civil engineering (General) ,TA1-2040 - Abstract
Every person can be described by his behavior in certain situations, but also by the motivation of his actions, a motivation that reflects the individual values. The set of values of each individual is reflected in the everyday tasks, the way of communication, the degree of success of his actions. The higher the values apply in a wider area of life, the higher the personal satisfaction of the individual. Personal values are the internal standards and, at the same time, the inner force that determines us to learn, work and live in a certain way. The paper presents a study of a group of 116 engineers from different fields who sought to identify personal values in order to improve communication at the workplace. It was used The Inventory of Personal Values that measured the analyzed variable. The findings of the research are that management strategies that value the practical and organizational spirit of engineers improve workplace communication, increase employee performance and improve their well-being.

The paper presents the main antiseismic devices, as component elements of the base isolation systems, in such a manner that the functional and constructive parameters are correlated with the inertial and stiffness characteristics of the dynamic isolated building. Also, each device will be characterized through a rheological model, which conditions the eigenvalues and eigenvectors spectrum, as well as the dynamic response to an exterior excitation of a seismic nature. In this context, antiseismic devices defined and characterized by the European Standard EN 15129 will be presented. Based on the requirements formulated in the norm, the devices can be identified and their laws of evolution established and checked as follows: antiseismic devices with permanent rigid connection; antiseismic devices with rigid connections with respect to the instantaneous displacement and antiseismic devices dependent on the velocity and on the velocity variation in time.

Algae are a group of organisms, Thallophytes, containing specific bioactive compounds (i.e. brominated phenols, heterocyclic oxygen compounds, sterols, terpenes, polysaccharides). Their excessive growth has negative consequences on marine organisms; on the other hand, they have a crucial role in food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agriculture. In this paper were studied the main physical-chemical characteristics correlated with the biological specificity of three species of multicellular algae, Enteromorpha intestinalis and Ulva rigida (green), Ceramium rubrum (red), frequently encountered along the Romanian Black Sea coast. Generally mixtures of thallophytes algae from the Black Sea were collected, processed and characterized. Density, pH, conductivity, anions, loss on drying, ash, total nitrogen, protein, lipids, carbohydrates, carotenoids were determined. The results emphasized the possibility of using these marine resources as biofertilizer in agriculture.
