Morphological databases play an important role in linguistic research today. While several exist for the study of inflectional morphology in French, there is still a lack of resources for derivational morphology. This article presents Démonette-2, a new release of the French derivational morphology database Démonette. Developed in the context of the Démonext project, this database provides a framework in which it is possible to integrate various existing derivational resources. Démonette is characterized by its relational nature, which makes it possible to describe an extensive set of word formation patterns, including suffixation, prefixation, and a variety of non-canonical derivational processes such as conversion and parasynthetic formations. It reconciles broad coverage and fine-grained descriptions and is suitable for different audiences: morphologists working in different theoretical frameworks, teachers, speech therapists, NLP specialists, etc. The article presents in detail the structure and content of Démonette, its evolution since the first version, and its query interface.

Cet article illustre l’usage que l’on peut faire de la base de données Démonette-2 (Namer et al., ce numéro) pour explorer des corpus oraux d’interactions adulte(s)-enfant(s). Pour ce faire, nous poserons deux questions susceptibles d’être soulevées en acquisition du langage : (i) quelle est la fréquence de mots construits dans les productions spontanées d’adultes et d’enfants ? (ii) quelles sont les pratiques des adultes pour étayer la compréhension de mots construits ? Les corpus explorés, en français de France, transcrits au format CHAT de CLAN, contiennent des interactions parent(s)-enfant au développement typique et atypique, des interactions en crèche et des interactions orthophoniste-enfant, recueillies lors d’activités diverses (jeux, lecture, repas, activités métalinguistiques par exemple). Cet article intéressera des chercheurs travaillant sur corpus oraux ainsi que des professionnels du langage, notamment des orthophonistes.

Studies in the field of language acquisition and language disorders are part of different and complementary theoretical frameworks. These approaches vary from experimental to natural resource methods. The tools developed in the branch of corpus linguistics can be used to describe and analyse clinical situations. Furthermore, they can be used by speech and language pathologists in the context of their professional practices. After explaining methods for the transcription of natural data, we show tools enabling the quantitative and qualitative analysis of language practices. To this end, the focus will be placed on CLAN software and on the relevance of linguistic expertise as a means of evaluating professional practices.

This article analyses Ridley Scott’s film The Last Duel, released in 2021, from the perspective of the gendered body. The latest opus by the English film-maker depicts the actors of medieval society in a way that takes account of the most recent studies on gender as applied to the Middle Ages. The Last Duel is a successful popularisation of these studies, respecting their nuances and complexities. The film also bears witness to the female gaze on the screen and is part of the renewed vision of the female body on the screen.
