The aim of this study is to better understand the role of housing in the recovery of people living with severe mental illness. Forty residents of various kinds of structured community housing facilities were questioned about housing conditions that were favourable to their recovery. The results indicate that, for the residents, material conditions have a determining influence on recovery. Their concerns are related to basic needs such as food, costs, conveniences and quality of housing. Social relationships with their immediate circle also have a strong influence on people's recovery, and they want above all to preserve the modest gains that they have made, both material and social. This stability is a prerequisite for their recovery.

Secondary effects of sulfaquinoxaline have been studied by comparing specific antibody titres of treated birds with the titres of those birds which were not treated. Previously these birds had been immunized by intramuscular injections of a killed antigen of S. pullorum, standard strain, and S. pullorum, variant strain. This experiment demonstrated that this drug possesses an immuno-suppressing action. This secondary effect was confirmed by an experimental infection with the GB strain of Newcastle disease virus.

A respiratory condition encountered in young turkeys is reported with the isolation of Bordetella bronchiseptica as the possible etiological agent. Rhinitis, bronchitis and bronchopneumonia were the main lesions caused by this bacteria. Transmission trials were successful in turkeys and chicken but not in mice. Guinea pigs were also infected for comparative pathological studies.
