Industry 4.0 technology coordinates intelligent equipment throughout the manufacturing process, and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) improves production efficiency and effectiveness. The marriage of Lean Six Sigma and Industry 4.0 makes for a solid partnership that supports sustainable production development. Integrating LSS with Industry 4.0 is critical for organizations to leverage diverse interactions and use advanced technology for employee improvement. LSS tools can facilitate Industry 4.0 technology implementation and sustainable innovation in manufacturing. The concept of customized mass production and innovative products offers opportunities for advancements in LSS techniques, as workers can utilize technology's potential for customization and product development. The aim of this study is to enhance knowledge of the synergistic relationship between Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Industry 4.0 by reviewing current literature and gathering information through a thematic review. The objective is to generate new frameworks and viewpoints. The goal is to propose a framework for sustainable manufacturing based on the significant key elements that result from the issues raised.

The article reflects on the use of digital immersive technologies on the judicial space as long as bodies, objects and scenarios of crimes can be created/recreated, digitized and incorporated into oral audiences as proof of massacres or genocides. From the description of the use of interactive digital devices that recreate extermination centers of the Argentine dictatorship in audiences for crimes against humanity, I will question the relationship between technological resources and the production policies of truth and plausibility that enables them to participate in the judicial stage. Taking social sciences as a starting point, it is expected to show the productivity and potential of these technological resources in the field of criminal persecution, contributing to the work of jurists and justice system operators.

This paper analyses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the digitization process of the opera sector under the impact of the COVID-19 health crisis. Surviving in a time of humanitarian disaster was a great challenge for opera houses, which faced new challenges. Most of the world’s opera houses survived this crisis, but in different ways. The authors identify three different categories of approach of digital technologies in response to the hostility of the environment, depending on the status and brand power of each opera house, the sustainable validity of competitive advantages, and the loyalty of audiences. Evidence collected from personal observations are presented. A comparative analysis of the management of opera houses in different areas of the globe was conducted to examine how they have embraced digitization to stay in touch with audiences during the pandemic. We have identified solutions like online concerts, broadcasting shows and concerts on radio and TV, using shows from the archives, and organising online museum tours. These provided joy in hard times to the public, hope and motivation, to escape the dark and sad reality. The results are discussed with reference to two ideal types of pandemic-induced pathways: back to the old normal vs. forward to the new normal. The influences that determine the differences in strategies are also considered: tradition, national context, leadership, knowledge, digital capability of the staff, etc. From an academic perspective, this article enriches the current understanding of the adaptation of the management model of opera houses in a hostile environment and provides managers with concrete guidelines on the systematic adaptation of their business models in hostile situations.

in this article, conducted from the point of view of the philosophy of education, we will focus on « influencers » and more globally on people broadcasting tutorials, podcasts and other thematic presentations of contents on online platforms. These contents seem to constitute nowadays online support resources for individual autonomies that are both singular and sustainable. We first study the motivations of the people creating these contents and the boundaries between professional and amateur approaches in this field (1). We then seek to understand what needs and desires inherent to the hypermodern human condition correspond to the online quest for such resources (2). On these bases, we lay down some markers for a thought of the way in which these proposals of influences can contribute to make the individuals durably authors of their singular autonomies (3). This study is based on semi-structured interviews with digital preservation practitioners working in Canada. Participants included librarians, archivists, a library director, and technical systems staff. The goal was to understand how participants are reviewing for sensitive personal information in their digital materials, what they are doing with that information, and identify the challenges they face in this work. Qualitative research methods used leaned heavily on feminist methodologies (Stanley & Wise; Taylor) and the field of ethnography (Feldman, Bell & Berger; Emerson, Fretz & Shaw). Findings include a summary of current strategies in place (e.g., risk profiling, using software tools for triage, and consultation with donors and/or community), a list of challenges (e.g., IT or systems infrastructure, barriers to access for software tools, funding restrictions, and scale), and a series of recommendations (e.g., increasing staff resources, developing tools geared towards triage, and improving grant requirements to recognize this work).

Research in digital sociocriticism highlights the importance of digital literacy beyond technical skills (Fluckinger et al., 2021). This skill, which has become essential for teaching practice, raises considerations in language teaching. This research explores the links between action, representations, and engagement, highlighting the influence of social representations on action patterns. In this pre-study, our attention is focused on the involvement of future teachers in non-formalized technopedagogical practices. Based on observations of FFL master's students' reluctance to use digital technology, we seek to understand how to integrate digital literacy into training. The socio-cognitive analysis methodology will be based on the analysis of files submitted in different didactic courses and questionnaires to estimate the effectiveness of the digital practices of trainers. We examine the implicit model of technopedagogical practices, the preparation of students for the critical use of technopedagogies, and the way in which digital involvement leads to autonomy and the modification of representations.

Prior to the advent of digital film technology, analogue film was not analogue, it was simply film. The introduction of digital, thus also marks the introduction of the analogue version. The idea of old media persisting – is dependent on celluloid film being transformed into “analogue” and being classed as an old form of media. In this paper, using the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia and Wake in Fright as case studies, I introduce the concept of the film-version. Moreover, my paper challenges the relegation of celluloid film as old media, and instead argues that the creation of a distinction between digital and analogue versions gives rise to a new kind of mediatised coexistence. I argue that rather than forming a hierarchy, the analogue and digital form a parallel and dialogical relationship allowing both the new restored version, and the older celluloid version to not only persist, but evolve into the present.

MODERNITY , *ETHICS - Abstract
this article focuses on the ethics of education and training, from an interdisciplinary perspective that is itself structurally embedded in the multi-referential nature of the education and training sciences. We draw on Daniel Sibony's conceptualization of the in-between as a professional position in education and training to consider ways of reconciling educational and training support and proximity with the realities of physical distance in digital interventions, all in an ethical way. We discuss the conditions under which support can be successfully incorporated into distance learning (1), dialecticize presence and digital technology in education and training (2), and finally lay some groundwork for an ethics of benevolent digital support, based on the concept of authority and its mutations in hypermodern democracies (3).

In this article, we present the results of a pedagogical experiment conducted at the University of South Brittany (Lorient, France) with first-year students in Applied Foreign Languages (LEA), whose native language is French. The objective of this experiment is to introduce French grammar concepts through an active methodology consisting of four steps: i) conducting documentary research on the selected grammatical topic; ii) presenting the findings of the research in the form of an infographic; iii) creating a podcast related to the infographic; iv) designing a Kahoot questionnaire to be shared with the other students of the group. This process is facilitated by the use of Padlet, a collaborative workspace which enables the collection of the various content produced in each of the four preceding steps. Students are encouraged to utilize multiple digital tools to enhance their metalinguistic skills, as well as other transferable skills such as autonomy, digital literacy, and cooperation. To assess the impact of this multimodal approach to learning grammatical concepts in the students' native language, we instructed the 74 participants involved in the experiment to: (i) produce a narrative text (approximately 350 words) based on a trigger at the beginning of the semester, and take a diagnostic test on the grammar topics to be covered throughout the semester; (ii) take two tests at the end of the semester to evaluate their grasp of the covered language points, and complete a final questionnaire on their pedagogical experience. The data are analyzed using a mixed methods approach, incorporating closed and open-ended questions from the questionnaire. Our pedagogical methodology proves to be compelling on various fronts, as it introduces new strategies for integrating digital tools into language teaching and learning, particularly in the active exploration of grammar and its impact on writing.

The spread of misinformation and fake news with the advent of social media is widespread to influence public opinion. A lack of common consensus between the journalists, media houses and social media companies on combating disinformation is causing distrust and scope for pessimism. The current research was conducted in the Indian context adopting mixed methods research to find out the roles and responsibilities of journalists and media houses in combating disinformation along with the effect of social media and advanced technologies in the changing scenario. The results revealed that journalists demanded more access to audience and providing a platform for practicing ethical journalism. Secondly, the effect of social media on journalism was considered as a net positive with no escape from the same in this digital era. Thirdly, an upgrade of skills related to tackling misinformation with technology was felt by the journalists. The paper provides the intricacies of journalism practice in the changing world for a better future..

Within the framework of the French Office for Immigration and Integration (henceforth OFII), civic and language training courses are presented as prerequisites and necessary levers for integration under the contrat d'intégration républicaine (henceforth CIR) for adult signatories designated as "extra-European". Faced with this close link between migration and language policies, many studies criticise a standardised, asymmetrical training approach, with integration designed "for" rather than "with" (FLIC, 2011, Vadot, 2023). However, as far as we are aware, there is little research into what 'the' digital environment (Cappellini, 2021) would be in the context of the CIR. Based on the observation that the projects and contexts of students enrolled in language didactic training courses are changing, this exploratory research proposes to examine the transfer of the notion of education for digital citizenship to the field of language teaching and learning, and more particularly in the context of training aimed at an adult public and linked to migration policy issues. The study explores this particular use of 'citizenship', 'digital' and 'language', terms associated with a potentially reductive logic in relation to diverse, complex and dynamic practices. This contribution invites us to consider the political connotations of the polysemous term citizenship in the digital age and the limits of transferring digital citizenship education to the field of language teaching and learning, and more specifically to the specific framework of the CIR.

This article looks at the steps taken by people who choose coparenting, which is understood as a parenting project that is disconnected from sexuality, parenthood, and biological descent and focused on the importance of intentionality in bringing a child into the world. By focusing on the coparenting project and coparent matchmaking, the research looks at coparenting sites to examine the technical aspects of how potential coparents are matched and analyze how they talk about their coparenting projects. Our dual research method (in digital spaces and offline interviews with people who are in or planning a coparenting project) allowed us to see the inherent power relationships in social gender relations and how they materialize and to identify how gender is signified—and thereby produced—in these relationships.

This article focuses on the digitalization’s issue of play activities through an ethnography of Magic players. After twenty years of board game promotion in local games stores and tournaments, Wizard of the Coast, the publisher, makes a strategic shift in the late 2010’s. This digital shift (lunching a video game, promoting online competition) invites players to confront each other on the internet, and not only in stores. How this digital strategy frame players’ practice? Are these different according to types of players? This field research shows that the digitalization reconfigures the traditional practices of players, without erasing the old ones. New players are engaged in this practice thanks to the software, then are coming (back) to stores. At the same time, competitors’ practices are also transformed: the software allows them to intensify their training and to review their tournaments’ strategy.

Educational sciences, digital studies and youth studies and sociology have shown that digital and youth cultures and stakes are strongly interconnected. Videos featuring games, such as tutorials, competitions or presentations, have increased in number on social and digital platforms in recent years and are very popular among young people. Young people often consume them and invest time in them during their leisure. However, this consumption and re-appropriation is difficult to capture for researchers, especially when it is carried out by rural young population, who do not experience digital autonomy and mobility. This article debates the methodology developed to conduct the research on these practices and population, and to understand them as young people's actual behaviours.

« How can a balance between historiographical success and player entertainment be created? Solving that question may produce the greatest ongoing benefit to both the academic field and the development world » (Kempshall, 2020, p. 14). The videogame research-creation project presented in this article is an attempt to realize such a balance. After introducing what an “historian” approach to videogame design is and which questions it could address, we present our own project that seeks to explore how “historical material” is affected by its integration in a videogame, but also how this integration affects the communication of play in return.

The research deals with the concept and development of the style of “Repetition” in art and its role in the graphic design process, and the field of book arts, especially the art of illustration. We find that the repetition style has become a creative goal in itself that entire artwork can be based on it. The research presented the different forms of repetition style and the difference between (repetition, rhythm, pattern), as well as the different types of visual rhythm achieved by repetition such as random, regular, alternating, flowing and gradual rhythm, and presented a number of artworks and illustrations that it represents. In modern and contemporary art, artists were interested in repetition to present conceptual works, including the field of book arts. Repetition style attracted illustration artists, and some of them were distinguished by their artistic approach. Rather, they excelled in their plastic treatments by blending full knowledge of the basics of design with creativity. The research dealt with the evolution of repetition style, technically and intellectually, especially with the emergence of digital art. Technological development has added a new dimension to repetition in the field of illustration. With the entry of the art of illustrations into the age of digitization, the process of repetition in artworks became easier and faster, and attracted many artists who were fascinated by the capabilities of digital art programs and tools. Through this, the research divided the methods and tools for the production of artworks based on the repetition method into two main directions: the first direction is about designs and illustrations that mix manual and digital techniques together, and the second direction is about the role of digital art in fully providing designs and illustrations. The results of the research came after the presentation and analysis of a different set of illustration works, to confirm the important role of digital art in the evolution of the repetition style in the field of book arts, with traditional art methods and techniques retaining their status and importance side by side in the creative process.

That our relationship with art, both in the museum and in society, is currently undergoing radical transformation; that Art History in particular is destined to be revolutionized by the digital; and that the brand-new Digital Art History is poised to tell us and show us something other than what we have been able to see and know up until now: this can now seem seductively evident. This is then the starting point for the paper, which at the same time aims to return to some preliminary questions : What, on the one hand, is it to see and explain a painting better, and how do we go about it [§1]? How, on the other hand, can research linked to the digitization of images—coming well after the one on languages and texts processing—help us to enhance and sharpen our gaze [§2]? These are the issues addressed here in a frontal and critical manner. The article finds its initial impetus in a certain conception of what experiencing & explaining the picture means, in its fundamental knotting. It is argued that the enterprise of knowledge cannot be cut off from it: hence, by contrast, the gnoseological limits inherent in automatic processing, based on the scanning of large corpora. At the same time, certain key principles of analysis in Art History, Aesthetic theory and Visual Semiotics are reviewed and discussed: motifs (in a critical conception of traditional iconography), diagrams (in close relation to the notion of figurality), and the interweaving of the visual and the verbal (an essential and delicate issue in our relationship to the work of art, which Digital Humanities must by no means sidestep) [§3]. In the light of this assessment, the article proposes a series of original digital devices capable of better tying together, and enhancing, the experience and explanation of the painting [§4]. Drawing on some case studies of Gustave Courbet’s paintings, the aim is to combine the phenomenological demands of a singular encounter with each painting with those of an invention of semiotic value that is fundamentally linked to an active edition & montage of the artworks themselves. In short, we want to show the positive paths to a renewal in which machines could be an essential adjuvant, provided we do not stick to the research directions and to the intervention modalities we have seen celebrated and programmed to date.

This contribution focuses on the place of recording technologies in the ritual performance of poetic improvisation sung during the glénti in Ólympos, a village of the island of Kárpathos, in Greece. It is based on an ethnography of the musical practice and is interested in the various live recordings of this glénti and the use made of it through their dissemination. These recordings are made by the villagers constituting archives for the community, but also by foreigners making a holiday memory. They are widely broadcast on the internet, on community radio stations or on YouTube. The Olympiotes see it as a means of transmitting their heritage to expatriate nationals, making it at the same time accessible to foreigners.

Since the advent of digital tools, educational institutions, especially in higher education, have integrated various digital platforms for education such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), cloud computing, and multimedia servers, among others. The COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated the adoption of these technologies, leading to an increase in the ecological and digital footprint associated with this digital transformation. The intensive use of virtual classrooms during the pandemic has resulted in a rise in carbon emissions, and this tension between innovation and ecological impact remains a continuous challenge. The utilization of digital technologies in education also highlights the need to address social inequalities in digital skills and work on them for all citizens. The mission of a digital coordinator within a university department aims to provide support to both teachers and learners in order to foster the emergence of responsible digital behaviors. This endeavor will require long-term planning and a shift in existing practices, with an emphasis on the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. Overall, a concerted effort is crucial to nurture digital skills that are both effective and sustainable.

THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The authors introduce the DigiSEL project, detailing how it aligned with their research for the online course modules. RESEARCH RESULTS: The Italian team’s focus group outcomes highlighted innovative solutions for educational challenges. Initial frustration with technology evolved into a rewarding transformation as educators mastered its use. Online courses were identified as motivating and providing novel approaches to address students’ diverse issues, such as concentration and emotional expression difficulties. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Despite challenges, the project effectively supported educators in their roles and maintained their enthusiasm for teaching. Drawing inspiration from earlier European research on creativity and ICT in teaching, this study aligned with teachers’ perceptions of creativity as vital for students’ development and demonstrated how technology could enhance teaching methods. In conclusion, the DigiSEL project showcased the potential of merging SEL and digital tools to empower educators and foster student growth amidst evolving educational landscapes. More research should take in consideration the importance of SEL and creativity to enlighten passion in teaching with new and inspiring methods.

In the specific context of education in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), studying the appropriation of digital artefacts means taking into consideration their appropriation and the possibilities these artefacts offer to transform the school environment (Tshimpaka Bodumbu, 2022). Indeed, when appropriation is mentioned, the underlying idea is that the purpose of the appropriated object remains naturally external and 'foreign' to the subject before he appropriates it. The general idea of this study is to articulate appropriation and affordance to show that the appropriation process is situated at the level of the relationship to the sociocultural environment, the artefact being perceived as a mediator to transform the practices but also to develop social recognition or to face the absence of school manuals. The practice called “camstudy” consists in voluntarily connecting to other unknown users for work sessions with the camera on, to monitor one another and to avoid distractions so that users can concentrate on their work. This new form of interaction has developed in the context of contactless lifestyles in South Korea, known since 2017 as “untact” a neologism combining the prefix “un-” and “contact”. Based on a field survey through participant observation carried out in 2021 during the health crisis, this article explores the practice of camstudy, and proposes to show the diversity of forms and contents of interpersonal interactions through a screen, achieved by the appropriation of users. Finally, this research suggests the possibility of “links without exchange” that have emerged from the limited interactions of this practice.

Albert Serra’s cinema captures certain characteristics of modernity, but it is a cinema that was born when this modernity entered into crisis and seems to find new ways in digital cinema. Located on the border between contemporary art and auteur cinema, between the avant-garde and the cult of tradition, Albert Serra has become a paradigm of the new contemporary author capable of finding a singular aesthetic from the air of time. The theme that unites the six feature films in his filmography is none other than the persistence of myth. The literary resonances of the figure of the myth allow him to show a series of archetypal figures lost in a situation of transit, in which presences are more important than dramatic gestures and movements only draw vanishing lines in front of certain landscapes that at times seek a way to achieve a certain abstraction of figuration.

Recent studies have analysed the crucial role played by urban expertise in the construction of real estate strategies and the increased use of information and communication technologies in this sector. By analysing the use of consultancies by property developers, this paper questions the effect of this practice on housing production. It relies on participant observation in a French consultancy office combined with semi-structured interviews with experts. This article sheds light on the interrelations between the structures of the field of consultancy, as it is understood in Bourdieusian economic sociology, and the concrete practices of valuation by experts of development programmes. This paper concludes that consultancies adjust the digital scope of their activity to different degrees, which can be understood as a strategy aimed at maintaining or advancing their position in the field.

In primary cotton processing enterprises, all electricity consumers, including the electricity consumption of the linter, especially the reactive power, are the compensation of the reactive power consumption. In particular, it is seen that the high power consumption of electric energy in the start time mode, which is present in all electric motors, can be eliminated through soft starts, and the effect of soft start on the device is studied.

This work analyzes the use of digital tools among telecommuting workers to understand the dynamics of work collectives. The article compares how “strong” collectives (within the same hierarchical entity or a business collective) and “weak” collectives (large teams, networks of contacts) use digital tools to collaborate remotely. While “strong” collectives succeed in integrating digital tools easily to cooperate remotely, weak collectives who usually use digital technologies for coordination tasks have difficulty collaborating remotely. Based on the comparison, the article highlights the risk of the erosion of some collectives due to the isolation of employees far from the “strong” collectives.

By studying the relationships of humans with what surrounds them, we affirm in this text that the digital environment is a daily living space that bears the features of the domestic: “any truly inhabited space bears the essence of the house” (Bachelard 1957). We will analyze the features of the house from the scriptural language and in Laudato Si’ in order to instruct digital domesticity: soil, architecture, and habitability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
