For the millimeter wave transport over fiber, one of the most simple ways to eliminate the periodic fading due to chromatic dispersion is to use an optical Single Side Band (SSB) signal. In accordance with this principle, this paper presents a highly linear millimetric amplifier driving a SSB modulator. For the first time, the real-frequency technique has been successfully applied to the design of the matching networks of a 26.5-29.5 GHz amplifier.
