Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a rare but very serious condition, mainly affecting young women. In addition to the neurological complications well described in the literature, other medical complications affecting other organs may arise, increasing the vulnerability of these patients. These extra-neurological manifestations, the result of catecholaminergic stress and the systemic inflammatory response, may be cardiovascular, pulmonary or metabolic in nature. Indeed, with advances in the endovascular and surgical management of intracranial aneurysms, these extra-neurological complications will have an increasingly important impact on the outcome of patients with SAH. The aim of our study is to evaluate the frequency of medical complications, their risk factors, and their impact on outcome. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
