The traditional ballasted track with wooden sleepers covers today most railway lines constructions, including the tracks of tram and metro or the industrial railway branching. In this work, we present an experimental methodology to validate a numerical model based on finite element method, the model was previously well defined using the ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) and adapted to represent a classical ballasted track. The obtained result of the analysis is expressed as a frequency response of the track and it is compared to the experimental result from measurements made on the metropolitan classical railway track of Barcelona.

The article analyses the possibility of stopping electric vehicles in a transport company. Courier companies use electric vehicles to make short-distance deliveries in urban areas. Public transport is also contributing to the popularity of electric vehicles, which reduce harmful emissions in cities.

Previous works have shown that fretting fatigue can be modelled as a notch problem due to the mild superficial damage produced in the partial slip regime during fretting. In this context, the aim of this numerical and experimental study is to estimate the fatigue life of aluminium 6201-T81 wires, used in overhead conductors, containing geometric discontinuities. These discontinuities induce a stress field analogous to the fretting problem. To perform the fatigue life assessments the LM-Nf relationship, which is an extension of the Theory of Critical Distance (TCD), was applied. The LM-Nf relationship was calibrated using two S-N curves, one of a plain wire and other of a notched wire. The validation of the numerical approach estimations was performed using a wire containing a through hole. The estimations were fallen almost entirely among factor 3 bands when compared with the experimental results. This factor 3 represents the biggest scatter in the S-N curves used to calibrate the LM-Nf relation. The TCD approach applied, in terms of point method, provide accurate life estimations in the range 105 and 106 cycles.

En los vinos blancos el aroma es uno de los principales atributos de calidad, siendo los compuestos aportados por la uva los que determinan el perfil varietal. Tempranillo Blanco es una variedad derivada de Tempranillo Tinto por mutación natural, que desde el año 2008 está autorizada únicamente en la D.O.Ca. Rioja. Sus vinos manifiestan características organolépticas de alta calidad, con notas afrutadas y florales intensas. En este trabajo se estudió el perfil aromático varietal de Tempranillo Blanco en siete localizaciones geográficas de la D.O.Ca. Rioja durante la campaña 2016. Las parcelas se distribuyeron en las tres subzonas que integran la denominación, con características vitivinícolas diferenciadas debido a las condiciones de clima y suelo. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron diferencias notables en el contenido aromático de la uva procedente de las distintas ubicaciones del viñedo. Los compuestos más abundantes fueron los norisoprenoides (48-70%), seguidos por los bencenoides (8-29%) y los aldehídos y cetonas (3-18%); otros muchos volátiles fueron detectados en menores porcentajes (compuestos C6, alcoholes, terpenos, ésteres, ácidos…). A pesar de las diferencias observadas, el perfil aromático varietal se mantuvo, por lo que se puede concluir que Tempranillo Blanco es una variedad con amplias posibilidades de adaptación a diferentes entornos vitícolas.

The orbital cellulitis is an infection of the soft tissues located behind of the orbital setum. It is presented as a complication of an acute sinusitis although it can appear as consequence of other infectious processes. We present a series of 20 cases diagnosed and treated in our center of orbital cellulitis. We expose the diagnostic criteria that we have followed, as well as the complementary tests used and the different treatments both medical and surgical.
