Resumo Este estudo aborda os desafios na interação entre universidade e setor público, com foco na extensão universitária na Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Utilizando uma abordagem exploratória, a pesquisa envolveu revisões bibliográficas e um survey, identificando 789 interações entre docentes da Unicamp e o setor público. Houve destaque para a atuação das Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde com o Poder Executivo, das Ciências Agrárias com o Legislativo, e, no Judiciário, uma leve preferência por Ciências Sociais Aplicadas e Ciências Exatas e da Terra. A maioria dos respondentes (54%) teve interações nos últimos 15 anos, relatando melhorias nos processos de políticas públicas. Além disso, 65% revisaram suas práticas de ensino e 59.5% aprimoraram suas pesquisas devido a essas interações. Os desafios identificados incluem burocracia, obstáculos na comunicação e acesso à informação e falta de interesse político. Essas descobertas destacam a complexidade e a importância da interação universidade-setor público na promoção do conhecimento e contribuição para aprimoramentos em políticas públicas.

Resumo O Grupo Raia Drogasil (RD) lidera com folga o mercado nacional de redes de farmácias, com faturamento anual superior a R$ 30,9 bilhões, lucro líquido ajustado superior a R$ 991 milhões. São 2.697 farmácias distribuídas em todos os estados brasileiros, mais de 47,5 milhões de clientes ativos e 53.039 empregos diretos gerados. O grupo aposta na transformação digital para fidelizar clientes. Assim, este caso explora dilemas da Raia Drogasil referentes a um potencial paradoxo: reunir esforços para obter maior aproximação e personalização no atendimento a clientes e, ao mesmo tempo, buscar explorar oportunidades nos relacionamentos digitais. O caso tem o propósito de estimular os alunos a se colocarem no lugar do CEO do Grupo Raia Drogasil, Marcilio Pousada, bem como no de sua equipe, de forma que possam tomar decisões estratégicas para ampliar a fidelidade dos clientes da atual líder do varejo farmacêutico brasileiro. Este caso foi desenhado principalmente no âmbito de disciplinas de Marketing e Estratégia, abordando a trajetória da RD até o presente momento, bem como suas perspectivas de futuro diante da possibilidade de maior digitalização para o negócio. O presente caso pode ser trabalhado com alunos de graduação, pós-graduação e educação executiva, especialmente nas áreas de Administração e Ciências Sociais Aplicadas.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar as facetas do exercício das masculinidades hegemônicas como meio de contrarresistência de jovens rapazes diante da ascensão de um coletivo feminista no contexto universitário. Para tanto, foi desenvolvido um estudo longitudinal, qualitativo e interpretativista, pautado em múltiplas fontes de dados, como entrevistas, documentos e artefatos organizacionais, que foram analisadas de modo indutivo, com base em codificação aberta, axial e seletiva. Como principais resultados da triangulação dos dados, destacam-se: i) as masculinidades hegemônicas são caracterizadas pela liderança em grupos estudantis, exaltação das masculinidades e classificação das mulheres como subordinadas aos interesses dos rapazes; ii) ocorre a resistência de coletivos feministas, marcada pelo combate a situações de machismo no contexto universitário; iii) há uma contrarresistência masculina, com a intensificação das ações contra as mulheres, por meio de assédio, agressões, vandalismos e composições de músicas sexistas. O artigo contribui para a discussão sobre gênero e resistência, especialmente no contexto organizacional.

This paper proposes to reflect about dance, in its educational context, from the situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The question that guides the text comes from the problem of teaching an art of the presence in a remote way: what was it possible to gather from this experience in order to project changes in dance teaching? Thus, the introduction presents the context of remote emergency teaching with reference to dance practice. Following this, three aspects related to dance learning are described: a time for listening, a poetics of distance and a state of being in the present. In the last part, the article draws conclusions on dance and its contributions to this process of artistic pedagogical reformulation, which demanded reinvention from all involved: children, educators and families. Este artigo apresenta um caminho de organização de processos artístico-pedagógicos em dança realizados durante a pandemia de Covid-19. Essa proposição surge a partir das trocas estabelecidas entre cinco artistas/educadoras da dança. A dança, em viés educacional, é uma área do conhecimento que se relaciona com as experiências corporais, artísticas e estéticas que, até a pandemia, eram realizadas prioritariamente de maneira presencial. Com o agravamento da situação sanitária, as práticas artístico-pedagógicas precisaram com emergência ser adaptadas ao ensino remoto. A partir desse cenário, este artigo se propõe a oferecer possibilidades de aprendizagem da dança em caráter remoto e apontar pistas sobre o retorno presencial. Na introdução apresentamos o contexto do ensino remoto emergencial em relação às práticas de dança. Em seguida apresentamos três aspectos relacionados a uma aprendizagem em dança: um tempo da escuta, uma poética da distância e uma permanência no presente. Na última parte tecemos sentidos sobre a presença da dança e suas contribuições neste processo de reformulação artístico-pedagógica que exigiu reinvenções de todas as partes envolvidas: crianças, educadores e famílias. En este trabajo se presenta el pensamiento etno-prehistórico de Giustiniano Nicolucci (1819-1904), uno de los protagonistas de la primera etapa historiográfica de la antropología y de la prehistoria en Italia. Sus teorías sobre el pueblo ibero-ligur y otros pueblos antiguos de Italia se examinan en relación con el contexto histórico y político del joven Estado unitario, que se había formado en 1861, y a la luz del paradigma religioso que orientó a Nicolucci durante toda su vida. A través de una interpretación contextual de su pensamiento se puede entender el éxito de algunas tesis de este estudioso, pero también el olvido que su nombre sufrió durante casi todo el siglo XX.

O estudo prosódico das variedades de português tem mostrado comportamentos distintos referentes à associação de eventos tonais ao contorno entoacional, aproximando variedades ao mesmo tempo em que distancia outras. Neste artigo, descrevemos e analisamos o contorno entoacional associado às sentenças declarativas neutras do português santomense (PST) à luz da Fonologia Entoacional integrada à Fonologia Prosódica. Comparamos os resultados obtidos da análise desta variedade africana de português com os descritos para variedades de português europeu, brasileiro e guineense, estudadas pela mesma perspectiva teórica. Embora em São Tomé e Príncipe a variedade lusitana (especialmente a falada em Lisboa) seja considerada como padrão, ao analisarmos o comportamento entoacional das sentenças declarativas neutras de PST, deparamo-nos com: alta densidade tonal, caracterizada pela associação de acentos tonais a todas as palavras prosódicas de um contorno entoacional; a palavra prosódica como domínio relevante para associação de acentos tonais; contorno nuclear baixo (L* L%); e possibilidade de associação de acento frasal à fronteira direita de sintagmas fonológicos não finais de um sintagma entoacional. Tais características entoacionais são distintas daquelas atestadas para a variedade lisboeta, o que permite-nos assumir o PST como uma variedade detentora de uma gramática entoacional própria, e não uma variedade defectiva do português europeu.

This paper focuses on the ‘history of medicine’ outlined by the author of the Hippocratic treatise On Ancient Medicine, in order to reflect on the relationship between medicine and narrative in Classical Greece. At the outset of the work, the author provides an account of the beginnings of his discipline, conceiving of medicine’s history as a continuum of research and findings that unravel the nature of the human body and the cause of diseases. As this paper shows, the physician-narrator assigns to his craft a crucial role in fostering the birth and progress of human civilization. The rhetorical goals of the historical account are, as I argue, attained through a subtle narrative strategy. In fact, the narrator locates the origins of medicine within a teleological framework, marked by strong emphasis on the heuristic method that characterizes the past, the present, and the future of medical knowledge at once.

An accurate estimation of rotating stall is one of the key technologies for high-pressure centrifugal compressors. Several techniques have been proposed to detect the stall onset; inter alia, few dynamic pressure probes have been shown to not only properly detect the phenomenon, but also reconstruct the stall characteristics after an ensemble averaging approach. The massive use of this technique in the field is, however, not a common practice yet. In the present study, the use of dynamic pressure probes has been combined with that of an environmental microphone to evaluate the prospects of this latter for a possible stall onset detection. To this end, experimental tests have been carried out in the experimental test rig of the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIEF) of Università degli Studi di Firenze. Results show that the microphone was able to distinguish the onset of rotating stall accurately and promptly, even though – differently from dynamic pressure sensors - it does not provide sufficient information to determine the characteristics of the stall pattern. On this basis, the use of acoustic measurements could find room for automatic detection of rotating stall onset.

Increasingly stringent policy on carbon dioxide have proved to be a severe constraint on the design of light two-stroke (2S) engines. The enhancement of efficiency is claimed to be the main target to make these devices compliant with future regulations. Low-Pressure Direct Injection (LPDI) was found to be effective in the reduction of fuel short circuit, thus improving efficiency and mitigating pollution. Innovative combustion technologies are required to exploit further the fuel potential. Jet Ignition (JI), i.e., ignition provided by means of hot turbulent jets, was found to improve the fuel ignition process, leading to a faster and more uniform combustion. Several benefits are shown in over forty years of Literature, from the higher performance to wider flammability limits. However, few studies have been performed on small 2S engines, for which only full-load data are available. This paper aims at experimentally evaluating benefits and challenges of adopting the JI technology on light 2S LPDI engines at both full- and low- load operation. Different configurations of passive prechambers have been investigated in terms of indicated cycle, brake efficiency and cycle-to-cycle variation. A sensitivity analysis on the spark timing was performed to fine-tune the combustion process. Results show the adequacy of the JI for use in devices operating close to full torque, like garden tools; however, issues related to the excessive amount of residual gas or to the rapid pressure decrease during the expansion phase were highlighted. Different solutions for solving these challenges are proposed.

Active Noise Control (ANC) has been considered a promising technology for the abatement of acoustic noise from the mid-20th century. Feedback and Feedforward ANC algorithms, based on the destructive interference principle applied to acoustic waves, have been developed for different applications, depending on the spectrum of the noise source. Feedback ANC algorithms make use of a single control microphone to measure an error signal which is then employed by an adaptive filter to estimate the noise source and generate an opposite-phase control signal. The Fx-LMS (Filtered-X Least Mean Square) algorithm is mostly adopted to update the filter. Feedback ANC systems have proven to be effective for the abatement of low-frequency quasi-steady noises; however, different challenges must be overcome to realize an effective and durable system for high-temperature application. This paper aims at experimentally assessing the feasibility of a Feedback Fx-LMS ANC system with off-line Secondary Path estimation to be used in mid-size diesel gensets for the reduction of the exhaust noise. Several solutions are proposed, including the mechanical design, the development of the Fx-LMS algorithm in the LabVIEW FPGA programming language, and the key features required to prevent parts from thermal damage and fouling. The developed prototype was implemented on a 50-kW diesel genset and tested in a semi-anechoic chamber. The noise abatement inside the exhaust pipe and at different measurement points around the machine was evaluated and discussed, showing good potential for improving the acoustic comfort of genset users.

Geothermal energy is accredited as a flexible, controllable and green source of energy. Heat exchangers (HXs) are one of the most critical components of a geothermal power plant due to corrosion and scaling phenomena. Hence, improvements in the antiscaling and anticorrosion properties as well as heat transfer performance of the HX materials will lead to smaller, more efficient and less costly systems. EU H2020 GeoHex project relies on the use low-cost carbon steel-based material for HXs. Through modifying the surface with nano porous coating and controlling the surface chemistry, the heat transfer performance of single phase and phase change process will be improved. This paper presents the design and development of three lab scale test rigs to test the effectiveness of innovative materials and superficial treatments on heat exchange with geothermal brine in single, condensing and evaporating phases. The rigs have been equipped with all the necessary instrumentation for control and for data acquisition. In particular, the advanced coatings are applied on a small stainless-steel plate and R134a fluid has been used for heat transfer coefficient characterization in different phase conditions. This paper aims to analyze the syntactic and intonational structures associated with VOS sentences (sentences in verb-object-subject order) in European Portuguese (henceforth EP), with the hypothesis that prosody (reflected in intonational structure) can encode the syntactic structure associated with EP neutral sentences (sentences SVO – in subject-verb-object order) and the syntactic structure associated with EP VOS sentences in different ways. This hypothesis is based on the experimental results presented in Frota (1994), which reveal that the intonational contour associated with special syntactic structures of EP is affected locally (or even whole) in relation to the neutral contour. For the investigation of that hypothesis, the intonational and syntactic structures associated with EP SVO neutral sentences and with EP VOS sentences are comparatively analyzed. For the syntactic analysis of the latter type of sentences, syntactic and prosodic arguments are brought in favor of the derivation proposed by Fernandes (2007), by p-movement (Zubizarreta, 1998) of the object. Regarding the analysis of the intonational structure of EP VOS sentences, based on the results of Fernandes (2007), the initial hypothesis of this study is confirmed, since that the intonational structure associated with EP VOS sentences is different from the intonational structure associated with SVO neutral sentences of the same variety of Portuguese. Unlike the intonational structure of SVO neutral sentences, in the intonational structure of EP VOS sentences there are more pitch accents and also a specific pitch accent (L*+H) associated with the object moved from the right edge of the sentence, according to the syntactic derivation proposed in this paper.

This study, developed within the theoretical framework of Intonational Phonology (cf. Pierrehumbert, 1980; Beckman and Pierrehumbert, 1986; Ladd 1996; Jun, 2005), is a comparative study of the intonational structure of neutral and cleft sentences (cleft, inverted cleft, and reduced inverted cleft sentences) in Brazilian Portuguese (hereafter PB). According to results obtained by Frota (1994), Vigário (1998) and Fernandes-Svartman (2007c), in special syntactic structures in European Portuguese, the intonational contour undergoes local, and sometimes global alteration, compared to the contour of neutral sentences. Our hypothesis is that alteration in the intonational contour in special syntactic structures also occurs in PB, as is the case with cleft sentences. The results attained by this study confirm this hypothesis, to the extent that significant differences between the intonational contour of neutral sentences and the intonational contour of cleft sentences in PB were found. While neutral sentences showed tonal accents associated with practically each prosodic word of the sentence, and an absence of phrasal accents associated with boundaries of phonological phrases, cleft sentences showed: (i) tonal accent obligatorily associated with the head prosodic word of the phonological phrase in which the focused subject is mapped; (ii) phrasal accent optionally associated with the right boundary of this same phonological phrase; and (iii) absence of tonal accents associated with intermediary prosodic words (between the head prosodic word of the phonological phrase in which the focused subject is mapped and the head prosodic word of the last phonological of the intonational phrase). In the case of the cleft sentences, the presence of a phrasal accent associated with the right boundary of the phonological phrase in which the focused subject is mapped may, theoretically, be related to the codification of a special syntactic position occupied by this subject in such structures: outside the IP, in the CP specifier position.

Despite the Oyapock River border had been attached to Brazilian territory in 1900, the official colonization occurred only in the 1920's. The Brazilian Federal Government strategy was to build an agro-colony called Clevelândia. Between 1924 and 1927, it was transformed into a penal colony, causing the failure of the agro-colony experience. The populating process moved to nearly Martinique village, an oldest black and riverine community, after renamed to Oyapock. This article presents human and social relations established at those places in three different moments: the agro-colony, the penal-colony and the new Martinique community. The historical sources were used to map these places. The objective is to understand, with the aid of 'cartography', which kind of relationship among this diverse population was established and how it was happened. Despite the governmental hierarchizing of space, the individual real life reinvented it creating social relations not planned by the power of State: the 'heterotopias'.

That trade competition reached the climax on 1895 May in the episode known in Brazil as « Amapá’s Massacre »: a struggle among French soldiers and Brazilian people in which around 40 people died.

El objetivo del presente artículo es describir el fenómeno de la apócope de los pronombres personales átonos en un texto en castellano medieval, La Fazienda de Ultra Mar, escrito muy probablemente en el primer tercio del siglo XIII, es decir, en un período de la lengua antigua en la que mayor incidencia y mayor estabilidad tenía el fenómeno en consideración. La apócope será caracterizada de manera general, considerando su contexto fonológico, semántico y morfosintáctico, así como su frecuencia en los distintos pronombres personales átonos, y algunos cambios fonéticos a los que da lugar.

Studying narratives, institutions, curriculum, professional and extra-professional customs of several Palestinian social scientists currently researching and/or teaching in the northern occupied West Bank helps draw a picture concerning an academic space split according to important dividing dynamics. The main structuring split is that which differentiates research logics from teaching logics. Moreover, this feature is combined with a spatial polarisation process of academic assets which leads toward a better understanding of the interviewed social scientist's entrenchment and which further explains the different types of their involvement.

In the last decade there has been an increase in women's participation in electoral processes, especially measures of equality in political participation. However, this increase does not affect equally to the top of the electoral lists. Resistance is observed to give input to the women at the top of the charts. In this issue, this study analyzes the elections of four regions: País Vasco, Illes Balears, Galicia, Comunidad Valenciana. The first two are regional electoral laws establishing electoral parity, and the other two regions have not taken any steps in this regard. The regional data are compared with the general election in which after the approval of the Law 3/2007 of 22 March, on the effective equality of women and men, also balanced representation in elections regulates Parliament. The purpose of the study is to test the impact they have had legislative (state and regional) the principle of equality of women and men in the top positions on electoral lists. En la última década se ha producido un aumento de la participación de mujeres en los procesos electorales, sobre todo por la adopción de medidas de igualdad en la participación política. No obstante, este aumento no afecta de igual manera a los primeros puestos de las listas electorales. Se observa una resistencia a dar entrada a las mujeres en las primeras posiciones de las listas. En base a ello, este estudio analiza las elecciones autonómicas de cuatro comunidades autónomas: País Vasco, Illes Balears, Galicia, Comunidad Valenciana. Las dos primeras tienen leyes electorales autonómicas que establecen la paridad electoral, y las otras dos comunidades autónomas no han adoptado ninguna medida en este sentido. Los datos autonómicos se contrastan con las elecciones generales en los que a partir de la aprobación de la Ley Orgánica 3/2007 de 22 de marzo, para la igualdad efectiva de mujeres y hombres, también se regula la presencia equilibrada en las elecciones a las Cortes Generales. El objeto del estudio es comprobar el impacto que han tenido las medidas legislativas (estatales y autonómicas) al principio de igualdad de mujeres y hombres en los primeros puestos de las listas electorales. O presente artigo em comemoração ao vinte anos do falecimento de E. P. Thompson, busca analisar as aproximações conceituais e teóricas existentes entre o historiador inglês e o filósofo Cornelius Castoriadis. Além desse compartilhamento intelectual, ambos seguiram um percurso de engajamento político no segundo pós-guerra cujas atividades profissionais estiveram conectadas a um projeto de transformação social do mundo. Isso se evidencia, não somente nas publicações de cunho claramente político desse período, como também, na própria transformação trazida à história social pelos trabalhos de Thompson.

This paper provides a detailed description of the Photovoltaic Assembly (PVA) and, in particular, how the extreme environmental and operative requirements of the Exomars missions are met. “Exomars” is a program established by the European Space Agency to investigate the Martian environment and to validate new technologies in view of future Mars exploration missions. The first mission will be launched in 2016 and will carry a spacecraft composed of the Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) and the Entry, descent and landing Demonstrator Module (EDM). The second mission is scheduled on year 2018 and will carry a rover vehicle. Leonardo PVA contribution is on either the TGO, Carrier and Rover vehicle solar arrays. Moreover we were deeply involved in the design of the power conditioning and distribution electronics of the TGO leveraging on our Power Management and Distribution heritage for scientific platforms. As far as Exomars SA’s (Solar Array) are concerned, they are significantly different: the TGO is based on two deployable wing system, whose attitude is controlled by the SADM. Each wing comprehends two panels. The Rover vehicle solar array assembly (SAA) is made of a fixed panel and four deployable (primary and secondary) panels. This SAA is unique with respect to standard deployable systems because of the motor deployment control and trimming possibilities during Martian soil exploration. Each of these missions imposed major design challenges: for the TGO the aero braking maneuvers will cause a significant dissipation of the kinetic energy leading to a solar array temperature increase up to +175°C on the rear face, while +135°C on the front (active) face. On the other hand, during the cruise phase the same PVA will experience extreme cold temperatures down to -209°C. For the rover SAA the biggest challenge is related to surviving Mars planet environment (i.e. dust, wind and charge accumulation) and the associated mechanical and electrical constraints. We duly considered the experience gained by NASA-JPL on previous Mars lander missions and the selected technical solutions, all taken from the European heritage, represent the evolution to what already successfully flown. Finally the bio burden and planetary protection requirements are also not a standard in SA field. A special manufacturing, assembly and test sequence will be implemented to capitalize our previous experience on the Mars drill tool development. For both the arrays European PVA technology was exclusively used: more specifically high efficiency III-V compounds solar cells and a new glass grounding network.

Let f : (N,g) → (N, g¯) be a conformal immersion of Riemannian manifolds. We establish a relation between the Weyl tensor of N and the Weyl tensor of the restriction to N of the curvature tensor of N. Such relation is invariant for conformal changes of the metrics of N and N. An application to the locally conformal Kahler manifolds is given. If f is an isometry we prove that Ricci equation of N, as submanifold of N, is invariant under conformal changes of the metric of N. The analogous of Codazzi equation, in conformal geometry, is found.
