Résumé : Les Bona sont un sous-groupe Agni originaire de la Gold Coast, actuel Ghana, établi aujourd’hui au Nord-Est de la Côte d’Ivoire dans les départements de Koun-Fao et de Tanda. À l’instar des peuples de la zone, les Bona ont été soumis à la propagation de l’Islam à partir des années 1920. Dans la décennie qui a suivi, le Christianisme a fait son apparition dans l’élan de la colonisation. L’avènement de ces religions révélées a profondément transformé l’organisation du peuple Bona dans le temps. Mots-clés : Bona, Christianisme, inculturation, Islam, conversion.

Boala Castleman (BC) este o afecțiune foarte rară, care poate apărea la orice vârstă și care afectează 16:100000 pacienți/ani. BC se caracterizează prin simptome inflamatorii sistemice, limfadenopatie generalizată, proliferarea limfocitelor policlonale și disfuncții multiple ale sistemelor de organe, fiind adesea asociată cu tulburări autoimune, care pot precede, identificate concomitent sau urma diagnosticul. Lucrarea prezintă criteriile majore și minore în baza cărora se stabilește diagnosticul, precum și importanța lucrului interdisciplinar în identificarea și realizarea diagnosticului diferențial al bolii Castleman.

Bolile cardiovasculare rămîn o problemă semnificativă și în continuă creștere în Republica Moldova, reprezentând mai mult de jumătate din toate decesele și ducând la o morbiditate semnificativă. Actualmente se recunoaște că povara bolilor cardiovasculare (BCV) poate fi ameliorată printr-o reducere viguroasă a riscului și prevenirea primară, care rămîn o prioritate importantă pentru toți dezvoltatorii politicii de sanatate. Fiind una din țările europene cu risc crescut pentru bolile cardiovasculare, Moldova se confruntă cu dificultăți majore în realizarea măsurilor de prevenție a BCV atât la nivel popu- lațional cît și individual. Prezentul articol rezumă principalele noutăți din ghidurile de prevenire a bolilor cardiovasculare ale Societății Europene de Cardiologie (ESC), publicate recent, examinând aspectele lor pozitive, dar și aplicabilitatea lor la practica clinică de rutină, ținând cont de caracteristicile socioeconomice ale Moldovei. Estimarea riscului cardiovascular este un pas esențial pentru reducerea apariției evenimentelor cardiovasculare adverse. În acest scop, în Europa a fost utilizată metoda grafică a riscului de evaluare sistematică a riscului coronarian (SCORE). Efortul de a preveni BCV aterosclerotic se concentrează pe identificarea pacienților care ar beneficia cel mai mult de tratamentul factorilor de risc BCV.

The research determined if the inflow of foreign direct investment has a significant impact on the socio-economic upgrading of the Nigerian economy. Standard of living and job creation served as measures of socio-economic development. The methodology adopted involved the use of multiple regression analysis to assess secondary time series data from 1996 to 2020 sourced from the World Bank. The study revealed that foreign direct investment inflow has a positive effect on both employment generation and standard of living. The impact on job creation was significant while that on standard of living was weak. Thus the research was able to establish a positive relationship between foreign direct investment and socio-economic development in Nigeria. It was recommended that institutional frameworks be established and supported to enable foreign investors to operate profitably in the Nigerian economy. Another suggestion was for foreign firms operating in Nigeria to be given tax incentives to augment their ability to serve as engine of socio-economic enhancement of the host economy. Finally, the Nigerian government should tackle the problems of insecurity and inflation to foster macroeconomic stability, thus attracting the inflow of foreign direct investment.

À Rio de Janeiro, il existe quatre clubs de football dont les trajectoires croisent d’une manière ou d’une autre la pratique de l’aviron : Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, Club de Regatas do Flamengo, Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama et São Cristóvão de Futebol e Regatas. L’objectif de cet article est de comprendre la relation qui s’est établie entre les deux sports, en la resituant dans l’histoire du sport dans l’ancienne capitale du Brésil. Le propos veut réinterpréter la diffusion rapide et la popularité du football dans la ville à l’aune de l’environnement sportif marqué par une présence très forte de la pratique de l’aviron.

Kinshasa, one of Africa's most densely populated capital cities, has been grappling with the issue of informality in its planned settlements. This paper, aiming to understand this issue comprehensively, has employed a unique and rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research includes material and site surveys, allowing for a detailed study of the transformation of the Mamam Mobutu Garden City. Built-in the 80s on an existing informal village, the project later faced an invasion of illegal settlers and constructions. The surroundings have also witnessed the radicalisation of precarious communities, posing a threat to achieving sustainable human development.

In the pages of this article, we will bring together a series of interpretations of Eminescu’s writings that prove the influence of the mysticism of Kabbalah on the great Romanian author. The understanding of Eminescu’s poems through the lens of Kabbalah is a perspective adopted by several scholars. For example, starting with G. Călinescu, Hyperion (from the poem “Luceafărul”) was compared to a sefirah. Since the influences of the Far East seem to be much more significant in the literary context in question, we will start from them and, later, correlate them with elements from the ideological background of Near Eastern mysticism. We will also point out certain aspects of the symbolism of the elements and, above all, of water – which is, ultimately, an emblem of the primordial space from which existence is born. Thus, starting from the perspective of Gaston Bachelard’s poetics of the elements, we will investigate the correlation with the mysterious Ain Soph of Kabbalah.

This article presents Nietzsche's notion of the Übermensch (le surhomme in French) as a development of romanticism conceived of as a quest to reveal the sentiment that defines or characterizes each individual as an individual. This approach reveals the affinities between Nietzsche and Schopenhauer, notably with respect to Schopenhauer's notion of Will that Nietzsche transforms into that of the Will to power, thereby underscoring what can be considered as Nietzsche's individualism. We argue that as a romantic notion, the notion of Übermensch fashions an ideal of what life could be but overlooks the importance of otherness and the role that otherness plays in defining the individual. Going beyond Nietzsche implies that the Übermensch, as a logical construct neglects the desire to please that constitutes an important part of an individual's relation with otherness.

Abstract Objective This article aimed to understand the neurobiological origins of adolescent behavior and how the possibility of practicing physical exercises can attenuate the maturational tendency for impulse behaviors in this age group. Method For this purpose, a bibliographic research of a narrative nature was carried out in the databases SciELO, Web of Science, PubMed, and in books. Results The data revealed that during adolescence there is a propensity as a function of neurobiological development to search for rewarding behaviors in the short term. In this sense, bodily practices, including exercise, can be an essential component in the search to increase the neural control of impulses through a neurobiological and sociological bias. Conclusion It is concluded that exercise can be a propelling means in the search to attenuate the immediate and even risky behaviors of the adolescent brain, increasing higher cognitive functions with this better cortical control.

Résumé: Les Bona sont un sous-groupe Agni établi aujourd’hui au Nord-Est de la Côte d’Ivoire dans les départements de Koun-Fao et de Tanda. Cette population est le résultat d’un métissage de groupes hétéroclites venus d’horizons divers, mais principalement de l’Aowin. Il s’agit de l’un des rares sous-groupes du peuple Agni qui n’est pas organisé en royaume. Plusieurs causes sont à l’origine de leur migration vers la Côte d’Ivoire. Au cours de leur processus d’établissement, les Bona se sont heurtés à d’autres peuples dont les Bron-Gyaman. Ainsi, ils ont été vaincus et intégrés au royaume Bron-Gyaman suite à une série d’affrontements. Cet article revient sur la migration du peuple Bona et son intégration au royaume Bron-Gyaman entre 1721 et 1750. Mots-clés : Bona ; Bron-Gyaman ; Guerre ; Intégration ; Migration.

O texto busca analisar criticamente alguns pressupostos adotados pela “epistemologia reformada” e pela “epistemologia das virtudes” de feição “responsabilista”. Para tal, define e caracteriza essas duas correntes epistemológicas situando-as no movimento teórico de substituição do fundacionalismo clássico pelo fundacionalismo reidiano, engendrado no interior da filosofia analítica da religião. E, de modo analítico-crítico, aponta alguns contributos e limites dessas epistemologias e de suas propostas de justificação das crenças religiosas em face de formas tradicionais de dar razões da fé, assim como em face de abordagens críticas com relação à religião.

Pulsed eddy currents can be used to determine the thickness of a conducting plate. This method is extended to enable the measurement of the plate thickness and its material properties simultaneously. The need for a calibration of the material properties of a conducting plate to enable the measurement of its thickness has been removed. The method relies on a suitable geometry with well known dimensions and suitable hardware to create a current pulse and measure a transient magnetic induction. For an optimal performance, the design depends on the thickness range that should be accessible.

Il est clair, de par ses ressources naturelles stratégiques et énergétiques susceptibles de soutenir les économies des grandes puissances que la RDC revêt une importance vitale dans la géopolitique mondiale, tant elle renferme des solutions aux différents défis et enjeux de la vie internationale économique et politique. Cette détention des ressources critiques à l’heure des grandes mutations, la mettra certes, dans une orbite de tension permanente à cette époque de transition de l’ordre du monde d’une hégémonie à une autre. Son avenir après avoir été soumise à l’omniprésente tutelle de l’occident ou après avoir été au centre des enjeux géostratégiques et géopolitiques considérables durant les années de guerre froide, la RDC risque à nouveau d’être prise en otage par cette idéologie qui prévoit de soumettre le reste du monde entier à sa domination meurtrière au seuil du nouveau millénaire. Dans ce processus ascensionnel, il semble acquis que l’enjeu majeur de cette réflexion réside dans l’approche prospective des relations diplomatiques à nouer par la RDC dans le concert des nations. La voie diplomatique est stratégiquement l’issue pour de tirer du piège, c’est-à-dire son destin géostratégique est à conquérir par l’opérationnalisation d’une diplomatie dynamique et constructrice de sa sécurité, gage permettant non seulement de se consolider en tant qu’une nation identifiée géopolitiquement mais aussi en vue de se hisser au rang de puissance « plaque tournante.

O presente trabalho visa analisar a responsabilidade civil das entidades desportivas futebolísticas pelos atos discriminatórios realizados por seus torcedores, empregados, ou membros nos estádios. As legislações e codificações que regem o Direito Desportivo no Brasil estabelecem ao espectador e a entidade desportiva o caráter consumerista de consumidor e fornecedor no que concerne ao ambiente da prática desportiva. Nesse sentido, a partir da metodologia de pesquisa bibliográfica e jurisprudencial qualitativa, com base em bibliografias científicas, documentos monográficos, jurisprudências e exame da legislação, como o Código Civil (Lei n. 10.406/2002), a Lei Pelé (Lei n. 9.615/98), o Código de Defesa do Consumidor (Lei n. 8.078/90) e a Lei Geral do Esporte (Lei n. 14.597/2023), busca-se compreender o instituto da responsabilidade civil e examinar a solução dada pelo Poder Judiciário e Desportivo aos danos morais causados pela prática de atos discriminatórios no ambiente futebolístico. Ademais, o presente trabalho busca investigar qual tem sido o limite da responsabilização suportada pelos entes futebolísticos pelos atos discriminatórios realizados por seus adeptos no ambiente desportivo.

ʿĀqil Khān ‘Rāzī’ (c. 1026-1108 AH, c. 1617-1696 AD) is a seventeenth-century Indo-Persian poet, historian and statesman who authored a dīvān, some mystical treatises, a historical chronicle and a number of mas̲navīs. This paper focuses on two of his mas̲navīs, Mihr-u māh (1065 AH, 1654/55 AD) and Shamʿ-u parvāna (1064 AH, 1658/59 AD), which are adaptations/translations in Persian of two Neo-Indo-Aryan narrative poems written in Awadhī during the sixteenth century. The aim is to understand how ʿĀqil Khān adapted/translated these two South Asian texts in Persian. In order to achieve this objective, this study concentrates on the imagery of fire in the prologues and in the conclusions of the compositions. The intertextual elements are analysed, unveiling the literary process devised by ʿĀqil Khān ‘Rāzī’ to compose a complex layered text that could be enjoyed by the multilingual readership of seventeenth-century South Asia.

O objetivo deste artigo é avaliar em que medida o projeto de escrita espontânea de Jack Kerouac impõe alguns problemas metodológicos para a crítica genética. Para este fim, divido a argumentação em duas partes. Na primeira, discutirei algumas das premissas antirromânticas da crítica genética no contexto da crise da representação e da “morte do autor” comentando passagens de Barthes e Derrida. Em seguida, com base na experiência de leitura de seus manuscritos, farei uma breve apresentação da obra e dos métodos de escrita de Kerouac para discutir como se pode entender formalmente a espontaneidade como um campo de investigação da crítica genética. Com isso, concluo chamando a atenção para a importância de se pensar metodologias de análise genética que ampliem a compreensão da enunciabilidade ou da performatividade do manuscrito, considerando o problema paulino da fé como “proximidade entre voz e coração”, tal como discutido por Giorgio Agamben.

Este artigo apresenta um recorte da produção poética pessoal do artista João Cóser, selecionado a partir do portfólio, e que abrange cinco trabalhos artísticos realizados entre 2016 e 2020. A análise do processo artístico de João Cóser utiliza os conceitos e as simbologias sobre a pele, conforme construídos pelo artista austríaco Hundertwasser, que define cinco níveis de envoltórios ou peles para o ser humano: a epiderme, o vestuário, a casa, o meio social e o global. As conexões entre a produção poética escolhida e as obras de outros artistas que lidam com a corporeidade e os sentidos, como Ernesto Neto, Chiharu Shiota e Hélio Oiticica, também são exploradas. A análise incorpora ainda a fenomenologia do corpo, conforme desenvolvida por Merleau Ponty e outros autores que corroboram com a pesquisa. O movimento tátil e a manipulação do objeto, seja de sua materialidade visível ou invisível, também são abordados como prerrogativas do corpo.

Geografia econômica, neoliberalismo e ecologia política do desenvolvimento

As reflexões sobre as homossexualidades masculinas nas religiões afro-brasileiras é um tema explorado sob várias perspectivas antropológicas, narradas principalmente nos grandes centros urbanos. Pretendo, neste artigo, compreender as experiências de homens homoafetivos em um terreiro de umbanda em uma cidade interiorana na Amazônia paraense, interessado nas relações com as entidades cultuadas no espaço. A cidade de Igarapé-Açu é o cenário onde se encontra o barracão, fruto de vários conflitos entre Zé Pelintra e os médiuns gays que baiam no terreiro. Inicialmente, esboço uma genealogia dos estudos sobre diversidade sexual e gênero em contextos interioranos, e busco empreender, por meio de incursões etnográficas, como as bichas lidam com a jocosidade da entidade malandra. O corpo aqui é o eixo central para refletir sobre como os conflitos também são uma forma de constituição do sagrado, e as territorialidades do espaço reúnem interações entre o sagrado e a cidade na Amazônia paraense.

Disaster management systems have been using digital communication channels for a decade now. While the utilization of digital platforms and smartphone applications enhances the dissemination of knowledge about risks, social networks seem to offer a promising avenue for addressing the issue of citizen engagement during emergencies. However, prior to the 2020 pandemic crisis, little action appeared to have been taken to actively involve citizens. This article aims to explore the role of digital technology in reshaping risk communication and citizen engagement in disaster management. In 2018, we conducted a survey in the Île-de-France and Brussels-Capital regions to assess citizens' expectations and the impact of territorial communication strategies on their perception of risks. Our results suggest that digital technology contributes to disaster management in two key ways: through official communication before and during crises, and by facilitating citizen involvement during crises. Nonetheless, our analysis reveals that while digital technology allows for the proliferation of information channels to reach a wider audience, it does not facilitate the establishment of a bottom-up approach, the revision of risk-related knowledge, or the enhancement of citizen understanding of their role in disaster management.

In this paper, I attempt to explore a recent hypothesis about what the main mss. are for establishing the text of Aristotle’s Ethica Nicomachea (henceforth EN). This hypothesis was recently advanced on the basis of evidence coming from EN I-II. In exploring this hypothesis, I confine myself to the text of EN X.6-9 [=Bywater X.6-8], and, as a result, I propose a new text for EN X.6-9 [=Bywater X.6-8] based on a fresh collation of nine mss—four of which were not taken into account in previous editions of the EN—and based on readings that can be gathered from the Arabic translation of the EN that was preserved in the Fez ms. The text proposed in this paper is accompanied by textual notes that justify my decisions regarding some difficult passages.

A cultura do cancelamento é uma expressão usada para se referir a uma forma de estigmatização social em que alguém é empurrado para fora dos círculos sociais ou profissionais devido a uma conduta considerada ofensiva pelos pares e pelo público em geral. Este artigo discute as características deste processo no ciberespaço a partir de uma pesquisa documental junto à imprensa e à rede sociodigital X entre os anos de 2018 e 2022. O objetivo foi demonstrar a presença de padrões e recorrências na prática do cancelamento contra personagens públicos sugerindo haver a existência de três tipologias principais: os cancelados, os revogados e os incanceláveis. Foram analisados 18 casos de cancelamento com grande repercussão na sociedade brasileira, dos quais 4 foram selecionados para indicar a existência destas tipologias. Os resultados alcançados indicam que a cultura do cancelamento, embora multifacetada, possui características próprias a cada tipo. De um modo geral, seus desdobramentos apontam para a relevância cultural e política do debate sobre o impacto das redes sociodigitais nos comportamentos sociais offline, uma vez que os resultados revelam a possibilidade de reação e manifestação da opinião públicas a práticas e discursos considerados moralmente ofensivos, em particular direcionados a grupos historicamente marginalizados e oprimidos.

This study analyzes the writing practice of Quebec writer Andrée Maillet in its relationship with everyday life and autobiographical writing. A foray into the notebook “Choses écrites” that she wrote between June 21 and November 16, 1973 and in which we find the entry into writing the novel À la mémoire d’un héros, allows us to analyze her writing process The study also focuses on Maillet's use of pseudonymity and camouflage.

Tuberculoza este o boală cronică infecțioasă și transmisibilă, cauzată de Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Reprezintă cea mai frecventă patologie granulomatoasă care afectează laringele. În majoritatea cazurilor este secundară tuberculozei pulmonare. Tuberculoza laringiană constituie o problemă de sănătate publică ca urmare a modificărilor tiparului clinic al bolii care conduce frecvent la diagnosticare greșită și tardivă, cu tratament întârziat, ceea ce determină creșterea riscului de contagiune. Scopul acestei lucrări este de a evidenția aspectele de diagnostic și de tratament al tuberculozei laringelui.

Pentru a anticipa și a se adapta la evenimentele zilnice recurente determinate de rotația pământului, organismele prezintă mecanisme de reglare menite să controleze homeostazia în diferite condiții de iluminare, numite ritm circadian (RC). RC reprezintă o rețea biologică endogenă responsabilă de coordonarea ciclurilor timp de 24 de ore la nivel genetic, biochimic, fiziologic și comportamental. Sistemele de control ale RC transmit semnale ale timpului în întregul organism, toate procesele interne prezentând un nivel de activitate diurn maxim și minim gestionat prin intermediul modulării neurotransmisiei în structurile neuronale cheie.Cunoașterea variaţiilor cotidiene ale activității neurotransmițătorilor în sistemul nervos central este esențială în stabilirea mecanismelor eficiente de neuroprotecție. Acest studiu sintetizează cunoștințele actuale privind interacțiunea dintre ritm circadian, fluctuații ale neurotransmițătorilor, precum și impactul acestora asupra neuroprotecției și sănătății mintale.

The study examines a problematic hypothesis of possible approaches to identifying the quantum physical foundations of the functioning of consciousness. The authors proceed from the fact that in modern conditions, not a single science, nor all sciences taken together, gives a final answer to the question of the “mechanism” of the origin of thought. However, this does not mean at all that research in this direction needs to be stopped. The authors express confidence that modern and subsequent research into the “quantum concept of consciousness” will lead to the identification of previously unknown patterns, opening the way to the formation of new principles and approaches. As an example, the corresponding Penrose - Hameroff concept is considered. Quantum mechanics complements the tools of neurobiology and other branches of neuroscience, which together form an interdisciplinary field of knowledge that is dynamically growing and developing. The authors are not apologists for the omnipotence of quantum physics. Quantum correlates of consciousness actually mean that it is not today’s quantum mechanics itself that explains the emergence of mental states, but the fact that in the birth of these states it is essential that in the very process of the formation of neurodynamic impulses in the neurons of the cerebral cortex that generate mental states, there are processes of quantum nature. It should also be recognized that the quantum-molecular level (nanolevel) of processes in the neurons of the brain really exists and it is this that is the source of proto-consciousness. Science strives to move forward, new research programs are emerging within the framework of quantum biology, quantum psychology, quantum information science, which in turn can shed light on the hypothesis of the “quantum concept of consciousness.”

Abstract Background Automatic and continuous recording of vaginal temperature (TV) using wearable sensors causes minimal disruptions to animal behavior and can generate data that enable the evaluation of temporal body temperature variation under heat stress (HS) conditions. However, the genetic basis of TV in lactating sows from a longitudinal perspective is still unknown. The objectives of this study were to define statistical models and estimate genetic parameters for TV in lactating sows using random regression models, and identify genomic regions and candidate genes associated with HS indicators derived from automatically-recorded TV. Results Heritability estimates for TV ranged from 0.14 to 0.20 over time (throughout the day and measurement period) and from 0.09 to 0.18 along environmental gradients (EG, − 3.5 to 2.2, which correspond to dew point values from 14.87 to 28.19 ˚C). Repeatability estimates of TV over time and along EG ranged from 0.57 to 0.66 and from 0.54 to 0.77, respectively. TV measured from 12h00 to 16h00 had moderately high estimates of heritability (0.20) and repeatability (0.64), indicating that this period might be the most suitable for recording TV for genetic selection purposes. Significant genotype-by-environment interactions (GxE) were observed and the moderately high estimates of genetic correlations between pairs of extreme EG indicate potential re-ranking of selection candidates across EG. Two important genomic regions on chromosomes 10 (59.370–59.998 Mb) and16 (21.548–21.966 Mb) were identified. These regions harbor the genes CDC123, CAMK1d, SEC61A2, and NUDT5 that are associated with immunity, protein transport, and energy metabolism. Across the four time-periods, respectively 12, 13, 16, and 10 associated genomic regions across 14 chromosomes were identified for TV. For the three EG classes, respectively 18, 15, and 14 associated genomic windows were identified for TV, respectively. Each time-period and EG class had uniquely enriched genes with identified specific biological functions, including regulation of the nervous system, metabolism and hormone production. Conclusions TV is a heritable trait with substantial additive genetic variation and represents a promising indicator trait to select pigs for improved heat tolerance. Moderate GxE for TV exist, indicating potential re-ranking of selection candidates across EG. TV is a highly polygenic trait regulated by a complex interplay of physiological, cellular and behavioral mechanisms.

Urban Heat Island (UHI) is a significant factor in human health problems, expected to increase with urban population growth. This study aimed to assess the spatial extent of UHI in Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State from 1992 to 2022, assess the dynamics of UHI associated with land use/land cover changes, determine the dynamics of urban heat hazards, and mitigate UHI through urban green area planning. The study used Land Surface Temperature (LST) as an indicator and Landsat images to determine land use and land cover (LULC) over the years. The Linear Trend Method was used to forecast UHI, LULC, and future effects of LULC on UHI dynamics. Results showed that UHI increased in Ikeja LGA between 1992 and 2022 due to an increase in non-vegetation cover and a decrease in vegetation cover. Forecasts for 2032 showed that built-up area and bare land will continue to increase, while vegetation will continue to decline, contributing to an increase in UHI. To mitigate UHI and its hazards, it is recommended to conduct urban heat hazard and vulnerability assessments, identify populations susceptible to these hazards, and conduct site suitability analysis for creating green areas within Ikeja LGA. This will help mitigate UHI and its impacts on inhabitation.

Our physiological connection with the air through respiration and olfaction creates a unique bond with the environment in which we live, marked by notable qualities such as porosity, penetration, and impregnation. This article consolidates theoretical perspectives that orbit around smells, examined through the prism of a phenomenology of the body. It delves into the physical act of breathing, which is perceived as an elemental sensitivity. Amongst the many sensations we experience, those that involve breathing are distinctly intertwined with its rythm and its vital nature, thereby enabling a heightened awareness of passage, transmission, and boundaries. The association between olfactory perception and the process of respiration provides considerable insight into its physiological significance and underscores the manner in which we are inextricably linked to the world.

Objetivo da Investigação: Preservara memória de um lugar através dos monumentos, edifícios e sítios históricos é primordial para garantir que as próximas gerações possam ter acesso a esses espaços, à sua história e cultura. O desafio das cidades turísticas que possuem centros históricos tombados pelo patrimônio histórico é assegurar que todas as pessoas, independentemente de ter algum grau de restrição motora, visual ou auditiva, tenham acesso pleno, com autonomia para visitar esses espaços. Vários fatores podem influenciar na escolha de umtrajeto para fins utilitários ou de lazer (turístico), e aqualidade e as condições da estrutura urbana voltadas para os deslocamentos a pé podem ser determinantes. Nesse sentido, este artigo objetiva avaliar a qualidade da caminhabilidade de um percurso turístico localizado no centro histórico da cidade de Itu, localizada no estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Metodologia: A metodologia utiliza um índice e indicadores de desempenho para avaliar a qualidade de percursos turísticos voltados a pedestres, através das categorias calçadas, fachadas e travessias. Resultados: Os principais problemas estão relacionados à falta de seguridade, conforto e acessibilidade. O índice e os indicadores propostos permitem realizar uma análise do local através da identificação dos aspectos positivos e negativos que interferem na caminhabilidade do pedestre e tornam o trajeto difícil para o acesso de pessoas com problemas de mobilidade, visão, audição e cognição.Osresultados permitemque os gestores municipais possam propor e implementar soluções de curto e médio prazo para melhorar a qualidade espacial deste local. Originalidade/Valor: O estudo permitiu constatarque embora o Brasil tenha legislações e normativas (patrimoniais e de acessibilidade) específicas, muitos problemas relacionados a acessibilidadeainda são recorrentes em alguns centros históricos de cidades turísticas, o que compromete a visitaçãodeturistas eresidentes.

Rezumat. Introducere. Variații considerabile de anomalii dento-maxilare au fost depistate la copii cu despicături labiomaxilo-palatine. Anomalii dento-maxilare de clasa III s-au constat mai frecvent datorită factorilor congenitali, cum este potențialul de creștere maxilo-mandibulară precum și de severitatea defectului. [1,2,7] Material și metode. În acest studiu au fost analizate 15 teleradiografii conform metodelor propuse de McNamara, Tweed,RothJarabakși Steiner și au fost calculați 30 de parametri cefalometrici pentru fiecare pacient cu despicatura unilaterala completa (atâtea pe stanga, și atâtea pe dreapta). Datele obținute în urma măsurărilor sunt prezentate în tabelele corespunzătoare fiecărei metode. Rezultate. Lungimea maxilarului superior și inferior (Cond-A, Cond-Gn) semnificativ statistic micșorat comparativ cu valorile medii normale. Abstract Nick Onuf’s constructivism is one of the most important contributions to the field of international relations in what regards the interchange between social and political theories, and philosophy. In this text, I engage with Onuf’s body of work taken as a whole. The guiding thread of the problematization I propose is woven through the attention to how Onuf’s craft and creative undertaking sets certain beginnings in the construction of his framework, and how setting them has important implications for (the conception of) ‘politics’. I would argue that Onuf’s conception of politics is sustained on two central beginnings: the conception of humans as ‘rational agents’ and the framing of what has come to be called ‘modernity’. This way, I emphasize what seems to me the most enduring contribution his body of work can provide not only to the field of international relations, but also to contemporary social and political theories more generally. The first section outlines the relation Onuf establishes between rules and rule, while the following two sections deal, in turn, with his conceptions of ‘agency’ and the ‘modern world’. My goal in these first three sections is to reconfigure Onuf’s constructivism. The fourth and final section moves ahead, giving a step further – perhaps too far, perhaps too radical –, paving a critical engagement with his work through peripheral (re)begininngs.

Activation of small molecules such as CO2, N2 or organic substrates and their subsequent transformation into complex value-added chemicals by electrocatalysis, utilizing renewable energy sources under ambientconditions, has gained considerable interest in the last few years. However, activation of these chemically inertmolecules is hindered by their intrinsically high activation energy barrier presupposing the development of tailored catalytic systems, often precluding selective transformation to the desired target products. Recent studies have shown that the utilization of concerted proton-electron transfer (CPET) mediators (med-H) may facilitate these challenging electrocatalytic reactions.

Background/Objective: Medical students experience increased rates of burnout and mental illness compared to the general population. Yet, it is unclear to what extent North American medical schools have adopted formal wellbeing curricula. We sought to establish prevailing themes of existing wellbeing educational interventions to identify opportunities for further curricular development. Methods: We conducted a scoping review of the literature searching for wellbeing education programs implemented for undergraduate medical students across North America. We searched four comprehensive databases and grey literature and only included published original research. Two independent researchers screened all papers with a third to resolve any disagreements. Two researchers conducted the data extraction following a predetermined template that was refined continuously, with a third researcher to resolve any discrepancies. Results: We identified 3996 articles in the initial search of which 30 met inclusion criteria and were included for further analysis. The most common types of interventions were mindfulness and meditation practices. 27 studies found that their wellbeing sessions contributed to positive wellbeing outcomes of learners. Conclusions: Our review identified that there are few wellbeing curricular initiatives that have been evaluated and published in the literature. Additionally, the methodology and rigour of wellbeing curriculum evaluation to date leaves significant room for improvement. The existing literature does suggest that the adoption of a wellbeing curriculum has the potential to improve outcomes for medical students. These findings can be used to assist the development of a validated wellbeing curricular framework for wellbeing initiatives.

O presente artigo faz uma inserção na trajetória e ações educativas de uma mulher professora no final do século XIX e começo do XX, pouco conhecida na literatura educacional. Trata-se deLeolinda de Figueiredo Daltro (1859-1935), professora primária que ganhou notoriedade na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, Capital da República, por sua atuação no movimento pelos direitos das mulheres, em especial quando fundou o Partido Republicano Feminino, em 1910.Utilizamos para este artigo algumas fontes documentais, livro da própria autora e, em especial a Impressa da época na qual o nome de Leolinda Daltro foi pautado seguidamente em virtude de suas ações político-educacionais. Em sua trajetória se destaca seu trabalho educativo junto aos povos indígenas no norte de Goiás, na formação profissional de moças pobres em cursos noturnos e sua militância como sufragista brasileira e em favor do voto feminino no Brasil.

Nigeria’s forest reserves no matter where they are located act as the last succour for the entire citizenry by rendering ubiquitous services that significantly contribute to her economy. This study was intended at assessing the Land Surface Temperature (LST) in Owo Forest Reserve Area (FRA) with a view to sustainable forest management. The essential objectives set for the research include: (i.) assessing the vegetation changes in Owo Forest Reserve Area (ii.) evaluating the LST in Owo forest reserve and (iii.) relating changes in vegetation cover to LST in other to ascertain whether the observed difference in vegetation cover has significant effect and contribution either positively or otherwise to LST values obtained in Owo forest reserve. Recorded spatial coordinates of some selected points constitute the primary data while the secondary data were the satellite dataset, which includes: the Operational Landsat Imager, Enhanced Thematic Mapper, and Thematic Mapper of different years (1991, 2002, 2014, and 2020) used for mapping the vegetation change in the forest reserves. Specifically, thermal bands of the Landsat image in conjunction with the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) were utilized for mapping the LST which is the hallmark of the research. Various data acquired were processed according to the best practices. The results obtained showed that moderate vegetation (shrubs and scattered trees) has been increasing, which signifies that these categories of vegetation in Owo forest reserve area is not depleting for the whole period of study. It was also discovered from the results garnered from 1991 to 2020 that areas with vegetation (Dense, moderate, and sparse) had the least LST values while the forecast probable future LST values for the year 2030 are in the purview of 24.22°C(minimum) and 53.98°C (maximum) which may have negative implications on the forest reserve. The research recommends a significant increase in the rate of tree planting and preserving green areas (vegetation) in order to mitigate the upsurge of LST while laws guiding illegal logging should be upheld with the utmost tenacity.

Two applications of a radical trap based on a homolytic substitution reaction (SH2') are presented for the trapping of short-lived radical intermediates in organic reactions. The first example is a photochemical cyanomethylation catalyzed by a Ru complex. Two intermediate radicals in the radical chain propagation have been trapped and detected using mass spectrometry (MS), along with the starting materials, products and catalyst degradation fragments. Although qualitative, these results helped to elucidate the reaction mechanism. In the second example, the trapping method was applied to study the radical initiation catalyzed by a triethylboronoxygen mixture. In this case, the concentration of trapped radicals was sufficiently high to enable their detection by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Quantitative measurements made it possible to characterize the radical flux in the system under different reaction conditions (including variations of solvent, temperature and concentration) where modelling was complicated by chain reactions and heterogeneous mass transfer.

The present structure of polling units was created in 1996 by the defunct National Electoral Commission of Nigeria (NECON), which created 120,000 polling units and 8,809 wards (Registration Areas) to serve the purpose of registration center and voting exercise. Goal and Objectives: The aim of the study is to carryout mapping and spatial distribution of polling units to enhance voting progress in Akure North L.G.A of Akure, Ondo state, Nigeria. This is achieved through identifying and mapping of the existing polling units, performing spatial distribution and analysis, database creation and geocoding of the polling units. Methodology: Spatial coordinates of the existing polling units were acquired with the aid of Global Positioning System (GPS). These coordinates were plotted using ArcGIS 10.6 and geo-database was created. Queries were performed to examine the ownership of the polling unit’s premises and also to determine polling units with over 500 registered voters. In addition, Geocoding was done to enhance a text-based description of the location of each polling unit. Nearest Neighbor Analysis (NNA) was applied to examine the kind of distribution of the polling units. The distribution pattern was determined using average nearest neighbor analysis. The result produce Z-score = -8.843133 and P-value = 0.000000, the Nearest Neighbor Index (NNI) value is 0.551025 which describe the distribution of the polling units to be clustered. Results: The result shows that some polling units attributed to the study area are outside of the boundary, 63 of the polling unit’s premises are privately owned while 43 are located in government facilities. It is hereby recommended that this study should be adopted to eradicate the barrier of identification and navigation to the polling units.

The Ukrainian Danube region is characterized by a high level of self-regulation of interethnic issues. In the two hundred years since the last colonization of the region, there have been no ethnic conflicts. The conflicts that did take place were purely domestic in nature. Socio-cultural boundary of the region, which is caused by centuries-old historical and geographical processes in the Northern Black Sea region, is a direct catalyst for modern geopolitical and geoeconomic changes. The relations between Ukraine and Romania have the greatest influence on these processes. With the beginning of the intensive phase of Russian aggression, the geopolitical position of the Ukrainian Danube region has changed significantly. This region became the main center of export-import operations of our state. After the end of the war, a flow of goods and people will go through the Ukrainian Danube region to restore public life. In such a situation, it is necessary to develop comprehensive plans for sustainable development of the region, which will take into account all its competitive advantages. It is of particular importance to use the multiculturalism of the region for the development of tourism and obtaining working capital for economic entities and territorial communities. The main attention should be paid to the ethnic tourism oriented to the citizens of the countries that have their diasporas in the south-western part of the Odessa region.

La spécialisation de la justice environnementale en République démocratique du Congo constitue un impératif sans lequel ne sauront être atteints les objectifs du développement durable. Elle s’inscrit d’une part, par le souci de l’amélioration de droit de l’environnement, de l’accès à la justice et de la résolution des différends environnementaux en vue de la réalisation du programme de développement durable à l’horizon 2030 et l’atteinte des 17 objectifs de développement durable (ODD) de l’ONU, notamment l’ODD 16 : « assurer l’accès de tous à la justice et mettre en place, à tous les niveaux, des institutions efficaces, responsables et ouvertes à tous ». Et, d’autre part, suite au mouvement international de création des juridictions spécialisées environnementales amorcées par l’Union internationale pour la Conservation de la Nature (UICN), à travers sa Résolution relative à la création des Cours et Tribunaux pour l’Environnement, adoptée à la suite de la Motion 085 du Cinquième Congrès mondial tenu du 1er au 10 septembre 2016 à Honolulu, dans l’Etat d’Hawaï (USA). Conformément à l’articles 149 de la Constitution du 18 février 2006 en RDC et 6 alinéa 4 de la Loi organique n°13/011-B du 11 avril 2013 ainsi que 2 de la Loi organique n°16/027 du 15 octobre 2016 portant organisation, compétences et fonctionnement des juridictions de l’ordre administratif, notons que le présent article a pour objectif de faire un plaidoyer auprès du pouvoir public afin d’amorcer la procédure de création des juridictions spécialisées dans le domaine de l’environnement dans une perspective d’analyse comparative avec les juridictions ordinaires qui n’offrent pas des solutions adéquates dans la résolution des différends environnementaux en République démocratique du Congo.

Despite advances in Electron Microscopy (EM) that enable to image protein assemblies within vitreous sections of cells at nearly atomic resolution, labelling is still necessary to locate small proteins or rare complexes. Gold immunolabelling has been used for decades to localise specific proteins within cellular sections. However, current gold particle-antibody conjugates are not built with enough chemical precision to match the current resolution offered by cryo-EM methodology. Furthermore, as a close to native specimen state can only be achieved by strict preservation of a frozen hydrated state, it is required to deliver gold labelling agents into living cells prior to their vitrification. Several 1.4 nm gold nanoparticle-antibody conjugates were synthesised. Their abilities to bind to and label their corresponding epitopes within living cells after cytosolic delivery by electroporation are documented here.

Research Purpose: To analyse the natural vulnerability to soil loss of the middle course of the Apodi Mossoró River watershed/RN. Methodology: The arithmetic mean of the variables of the physical environment was performed in a GIS environment. Findings: The result showed that the basin is in the Moderately Stable/Vulnerable class, with a mean value of 2.04, on a scale of 1.0 to 3.0. About 25% of the area presented considerable class between moderately vulnerable to vulnerable. It is suggested that, for these areas, to create criteria be created that limit the use and occupation, having as support the environmental legislation in force, aiming at the conservation and/or restoration of the natural systems that still exist. Originality/Value: The article presents a method aimed at identifying the natural vulnerability in watersheds of semi-arid regions, supported by the use of geotechnologies. From this method, it is possible to identify which conditioning factors of the physical environment most influence the natural vulnerability, identifying areas more conducive to the preservation/conservation of the environment.

The EU has developed its own Charter of Fundamental Rights, gained powers to promote specific fundamental rights, and negotiations for EU accession to the ECHR are ongoing. These evolving parameters strengthen the interactions between the EU and the ECHR. To ensure the coherence and harmony of the European architecture of fundamental rights, the ECJ and the ECtHR are required to articulate their legal systems. In the post-Charter era, the ECtHR has displayed increasing openness to EU law. Conversely, the ECJ has shown a trend towards “Charter centrism”. This special Dialogue section examines the ECJ's use of ECHR and ECtHR case law in the post-Charter era and the factors contributing to the “Charter centrism” trend. Scholars Romain Tinière and Johan Callewaert present distinct yet complementary perspectives on the topic. Tinière delves into the internal dynamics of the ECJ’s use of the ECHR, while Callewaert provides an external viewpoint from the standpoint of national judges. Even if the EU successfully accedes to the ECHR, the interaction between the ECJ and the ECtHR will remain crucial for upholding fundamental rights in Europe. While recognizing the ECJ's need to develop its own approach to fundamental rights in specific contexts, maintaining consistency and methodological rigor in articulating the two sources of fundamental rights protection is essential for enhancing legal certainty.

According to Cassius Dio (LXVIII 13, 1-6), Trajan’s Bridge at Drobeta was built immediately following the peace of AD 102. It is currently believed, based on discoveries of Roman brick stamps (IDR II 99-105), that detachments of the legions V Macedonica, VII Claudia, XIII Gemina, along with detachments of the cohorts I Cretum, II Hispanorum (scutata Cyrenaica) şi III Brittonum veterana took part in building the bridge. The Iron Gates Region Museum’s Archaeology collection houses several stamped bricks found during archaeological investigations of the piers of Trajan’s Bridge at Drobeta. Furthermore, restoration work carried out on Trajan’s Bridge in 2020-2021, unveiled new information regarding the military units that undertook its construction.

Approval by the French Parliament of the law on the protection of regional languages as heritage and the decision by the Constitutional Council concerning this law reveal that the protection of language diversity continues to be a matter of debate in France. These recent developments illustrate the State’s ambivalence regarding this diversity and the enduring tension between the affirmation of linguistic unity and official monolingualism and the intention to protect regional languages. In a laconic statement of reasons, which has become a source of criticism and uncertainty, the Council declared immersive teaching and the use of the regional languages’ diacritic signs in civil status documents to be unconstitutional on the basis of Article 2 of the Constitution. This provision, which proclaims that “The language of the Republic is French” constrains the possible scope of protection of regional languages. It is clear from this decision and from the law that was eventually enacted that the boundaries of this protection remain unmoved and its content is inevitably limited.
