The article reports on the conference "Die gesammelte Welt: Wissensformen und Wissenswandel in Zedlers 'Universal-Lexicon,'" held on November 18-19, 2010, in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. Presentations revolved around the editorial history, historical context, and contents of the Enlightenment-era encyclopedia, edited by Johann Heinrich Zedler in the 18th century, including papers on the representation of Buddhism, the human body, and slavery. A digital edition of the encyclopedia was also discussed.
