This paper focuses on the specifics of the general and business language training in the modern business services industry in Poland. The primary research objective is to determine the relevant characteristics of the outsourcing branch in the internal, general and professional training. These are relevant in terms of adapting, updating or modifying German as a foreign language-oriented teacher training in German Philology studies in Poland. Thus innovative, contemporary tailor-made didactic solutions, methods, means and techniques can be implemented, and graduates can be provided with more efficient professional language training. Abstract
The article reports on a conference on the concept of democracy in Germany and Poland in the 20th and 21st centuries, held in Ciążeń and Poznań, Poland, from September 26-29, 2011. The papers presented discussed such topics as the role of democracy as a political idea and catchphrase in the aftermath of World War I, the democratization of Poland and East Germany after the fall of communism in 1989, and civic engagement in 21st-century German and Polish politics.

Abstract
The article offers information on "Erinnern und erinnert werden. Das Türkengedächtnis und seine Funktion in Zentral-und Osteuropa," a conference that focused on the collective memory of and about the Turkish people in European history that took place in Krakow, Poland. Papers presented at the conference discussed topics such the memories of the Siege of Vienna, Austria by the Ottoman Empire, visual representations of Turks in art, and how Turks were portrayed in Hungarian literature.
