There are many types of libraries and all of them struggle to a greater or lesser extent with the issue of staff recruitment and development. With the involvement of colleagues from four hospital libraries, this article examines the question of how new staff is recruited. What requirements have medical librarians to meet? What skills and qualifications do applicants need to have and which can be acquired on the job? How are suitable applicants made aware of the announced positions and how can the employee be retained in the long term once the position has been successfully filled? The article takes a closer look at these and other questions, presents best practices and shows possible strategies for recruiting and developing staff.

To cope with social and technical developments as well as a changed understanding of services, new fields of action emerge in libraries. The due change processes need to be supported by professional development measures such as continuing education and training. Against the backdrop of increasing shortage of skilled workers, particularly in the service sector, professional development is a central aspect of organiational development to attract, keep and professionally develop employees. Nevertheless, the actual number of staff training days in German libraries falls short of the recommendations of the library assocations.

The advancing digitalisation of science is changing the traditional role of employees at academic libraries. The scope is increasingly expanding to include topics relating to open science and the reproducibility of research processes and its results. Dealing with the ever increasing amounts of data requires more technical expertise and creates an entirely new range of tasks in the institutions. The required knowledge is still largely lacking as subject matter in library study programmes and can only be acquired sporadically in depth and in context. The ‘Data Librarian’ certificate course offered at TH Köln addresses this gap and is designed to teach basic data skills over a period of nine months in a combination of guided self-study phases and in-person sessions. In this article, a participant reports on whether and how this can be achieved.

The Medical Librarian’s Bibliography 2023 lists all articles from GMS Medizin – Bibliothek – Information. In addition, articles with significance for medical librarianship published in journals in the field of library science are recorded: Bibliothek Forschung und Praxis, Bibliotheksdienst, B.I.T. Online, BuB: Forum Bibliothek und Information, Information – Wissenschaft und Praxis (IWP), Journal of EAHIL (European Association for Health Information and Libraries). The Medical Librarian’s Bibliography 2023 also lists selected articles relevant to medical librarians from Diabetes-Journal, Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, and Research Synthesis Methods.

At the end of March 2024, the first certificate course for career changers in the library profession was successfully completed by the Weiterbildunszentrum (Continuing Education Centre) of the FU Berlin in cooperation with the Association of Information and Library Professionals (BIB). The article shows the basic objectives, the concept and the exerences from the implementation of the training for lateral entrants named “Basiswissen Bibliothek für Quereinsteiger:innen“.

This is a report about the work of the executive board of the German MLA (AGMB) 2023/24 and an outlook on the conference 2024 in Mainz. The “pioneer project at Medical Libraries 2024” is highlighted as well as the advanced training in the beginning of 2024.

The aim of the “MEIN JOB BIBLIOTHEK” project is to raise awareness for the library field and, above all, to attract people interested in training, studies or a career change. The article outlines the concept of employer branding and the aim of the portal and other campaigns for the library profession.

As a result of demographic change, an increasing number of newcomers are working in libraries in all sectors. As a result, there is a growing need for in-service library training that goes beyond on-the-job training.The demand for basic training courses is particularly high and hardly in line with demand, but there is also need for further qualifications that ideally lead to a recognized professional or academic qualification. All in all, there are relatively few opportunities for further qualification in the DACH region – as described below – and even fewer with a focus on academic libraries, meaning that there is a need for additional digital or hybrid offerings.

Data management and research support are emerging as new areas of activity for academic libraries. Training in this area is still rare and is only now being integrated into training and study programmes. The ZBIW certificate course “Data Librarian” fills this gap and enables a part-time, modularly structured qualification at university level. This article presents the certificate course, its structure and its development.

GMS MBI is published twice a year and is jointly edited by an editorial board. Anyone interested in joining the editorial board, in writing a review as part of the peer reviewing process or in being in charge of a single thematic issue is invited to express their interest.

A cornerstone of evidence-based healthcare are evidence syntheses based on systematic literature searches. Conducting literature searches of high methodological quality requires the informed use of specific search techniques. Beyond text based searching in electronic databases, citation searching can be utilised either as standalone or supplementary technique to identify relevant publications. Despite being used for decades, the terminology, methodology and reporting of citation searching have not been standardised yet. We conducted an evidence guided, four round Delphi consensus study with 27 international methodological experts to develop guidance for citation searching in the context of systematic literature searches. The resulting Terminology, Application, and Reporting of Citation Searching (TARCiS) statement comprises ten recommendations on when and how to conduct and report citation searching, each with a rationale and explanation. In addition, four research priorities are presented. We recommend anyone doing systematic reviews or appraising their reporting to incorporate TARCiS into their standardised workflows.

The working group Evidence-Based Medicine (AG-EBM) of the German Medical Library Association (AGMB) celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2024. It continues its work in the years 2023 and 2024 in the form of virtual meetings. The group meeting of the AG-EBM at the annual conference of the AGMB 2024 in Mainz provides an opportunity to get in touch with the group and its members.

Strategic staff recruitment has to focus on all phases of the professional biography. It begins with the entry into a professional field through professional training or studies. Work-study programs – or “dual study programs” – are considered particularly flexible in this respect and promise an early bond between the library and prospective graduates. Due to various regulations, there is currently no officially “dual” study program in library and information science in Germany, but there are flexible and unbureaucratic alternatives. This article explains which “dual-like” options for a combination of (paid) professional practice and studies the library and information science institutes offer.

On the one hand, the article describes the new Bachelor‘s degree programme “Library and digital information” (previously: “Information sciences”) at Stuttgart Media University, which will be launched in the winter semester 2024/25. Established basic principles such as project-based studying in the higher semesters have been retained, but the profile has been sharpened with respect to libraries. A short track version takes into account the needs of students with completed training as „Fachangestellte für Bibliotheks- und Informationsdienste“. There are now also students who are completing the degree programme in a contractual relationship with a library. On the other hand, the programme at Master‘s level is discussed, where interested persons can either take individual modules or obtain a full Master‘s degree.

This issue focuses on the topic of “Recruiting and developing staff in (medical) libraries” with a particular focus on training and continuing education programs. The issue is supplemented by an article on the TARCiS statement, the Medical Librarian’s Bibliography 2023, the report from the AGMB’s working group on evidence-based medicine (AG-EBM) and the “German MLA (AGMB) News”, as well as a request for support from the editorial board.

Die Welt der Wissenschaft befindet sich seit einiger Zeit im Umbruch. Waren bisher wissenschaftliche Arbeiten und Forschungsergebnisse entweder nur eingeschränkt oder in einem Fachjournal zu veröffentlichen und der Zugang dazu in weiterer Folge einer kleinen Community, vielleicht sogar zu (hohen) Kosten möglich, so steht nun die Öffnung wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten am politischen Programm. Diese Entwicklung hat – wie immer – zwei Seiten, sowohl für Studierende und Forschende, für Universitäten und Fachhochschulen, als auch für die Gesellschaft insgesamt. In diesem Artikel werden zuerst einige Aspekte des Urheberrechts und der Veröffentlichungspflicht dargestellt, danach wird auf die Themen Open Access (OA) im Allgemeinen sowie der mögliche Einsatz von Creative Commons (CC)-Lizenzen eingegangen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk bei den folgenden Ausführungen wird auf die Gegebenheiten der Fachhochschule JOANNEUM (FHJ) gelegt.

Bibliotheken bieten zunehmend neue Dienstleistungen und Produkte an, um den sich wandelnden Bedürfnissen ihrer Nutzer*innen gerecht zu werden. In privatwirtschaftlichen Unternehmen hat sich zum Management einer Vielzahl von Produkten und Dienstleistungen das strategische Mittel des Produktportfolio-Managements durchgesetzt. In Bibliotheken ist dieser Ansatz der Steuerung weitaus seltener anzutreffen. Dies ist keineswegs darauf zurückzuführen, dass Bibliotheken administrative und keine gewinnorientierten Einrichtungen sind. Ganz im Gegenteil: mit wenigen Anpassungen am Grundmodell eines Produktportfolios kann sich das Tool auch in Bibliotheken als vielversprechendes Mittel zur strategischen Verwaltung erweisen.Dieser Artikel erläutert, wie die Erarbeitung und Einführung eines gemeinsamen Produktportfolios an der Universitätsbibliothek und der Zentralbibliothek Zürich den Pfad für eine produktorientierte, und damit dienstleistungs- und kundenorientierte, strategische Zusammenarbeit geebnet haben. Der Beitrag bietet einen Einblick in den Prozess der Entwicklung und den Einsatz des Produktportfolios: wie es zu Stande kam, wie es Konsequenzen von Entscheidungen kalkulierbar machte und wie damit Produkte entlang der Strategie weiterentwickelt werden konnten.Es soll gezeigt werden, wie durch die Anwendung von Methoden aus der Betriebswirtschaft auf den Bibliotheksbereich neue Wege im Management von Bibliotheken beschritten werden können. Libraries are increasingly offering new services and products to meet the changing needs of their users. In private enterprises, the strategic tool of product portfolio management has become established for managing a variety of products and services. In libraries, this approach to management is far less common. This is by no means due to the fact that libraries are administrative and non-profit organizations. On the contrary, with a few adjustments to the basic model of a product portfolio, the tool can also prove to be a promising means of strategic management in libraries.This article explains how the development and introduction of a joint product portfolio at the University Library and the Central Library of Zurich paved the way for a product-oriented, and therefore service- and customer-oriented, strategic collaboration. The article provides an insight into the process of developing and deploying the product portfolio: how it came about, how it made the consequences of decisions calculable, and how products could be further developed along the strategy.It aims to show how the application of methods from business administration to the library sector can open up new avenues in library management. The implementation of a product portfolio can help modern libraries strengthen their position in society and position themselves as forward-looking, dynamic institutions.

Die Universitätsbibliothek Zürich (UB) ist 2022 mit einer an den geographisch verteilten Fachbereichen orientierten Organisationsform gestartet. In diesem Aufsatz befassen wir uns mit den Erkenntnissen aus zweieinhalb Jahren Betrieb und zeigen auf, mit welchen Herausforderungen die UB Zürich zu kämpfen hat und wie wir diesen in den nächsten Jahren begegnen wollen. The University Library Zurich (UB) started in 2022 with an organizational form based on the geographically distributed departments. In this article, we look at the lessons learned from two and a half years of operation and highlight the challenges facing the University Library Zurich and how we intend to tackle them in the coming years.

Die ETH-Bibliothek begreift das Thema generative künstliche Intelligenz (KI) als Chance, um sich innerhalb der ETH Zürich bei der Vermittlung von Informationskompetenzen (IK) verstärkt als Kompetenzzentrum zu positionieren. Das Thema generative KI soll mit verschiedenen Themenbereichen der IK verzahnt und vermittelt werden. Um dies zu erreichen, geht sie das Thema auf drei Ebenen an: Zum einen in der Organisationsentwicklung und Personalentwicklung, zum anderen mit Vernetzung, Kollaborationen und Projekten innerhalb der Hochschule sowie zum dritten mit der Weiterentwicklung des Angebotsportfolios und der Bereitstellung von zusätzlichen Informationen für ihre Zielgruppen. Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is an opportunity for ETH Library to strengthen its position within ETH Zurich as a centre of competence for teaching information literacy. It is paramount to interlink the topic of generative AI with the various aspects of information literacy. To achieve this, the topic is addressed on three levels: Firstly, in organisational and personnel development; secondly, with networking, collaborations and projects within the university; and thirdly, with the further development of the portfolio of services and the provision of additional information for its target groups.

Bibliotheken haben kontinuierlich mit Menschen zu tun, die mit unterschiedlichen – sichtbaren und nicht sichtbaren – Beeinträchtigungen leben, sowohl als Nutzer*innen als auch als Mitarbeiter*innen. Für die bibliothekarische Ausbildung an Hochschulen heisst dies unter anderem, dass sie einerseits die Studierenden auf diese berufliche Situation vorbereiten muss, andererseits aber auch ständig mit Studierenden zu tun hat, die mit Beeinträchtigungen leben. Dieser Beitrag fokussiert darauf, was dies für das bibliothekarische Studium bedeutet. Während der Themenbereich Inklusion und Bibliotheken schon oft in der Literatur oder auch in Abschlussarbeiten bearbeitet wurde, gilt dies für den Bereich der bibliothekarischen Ausbildung nicht. Es ist deshalb notwendig, auf Wissen über Inklusion in anderen Ausbildungsgängen zurückzugreifen. Libraries are constantly dealing with people who live with various - visible and invisible - impairments, both as users and as employees. For librarian training at universities of applied science this means, among other things, that on the one hand students must be prepared for this professional situation, but on the other hand that teaching institutions are constantly dealing with students who live with impairments. This article focuses on what this means for library studies. While the topic of inclusion and libraries has often been dealt with in the literature, this does not apply to the field of library education. It is therefore necessary to draw on knowledge about inclusion in other training courses.

Aufbauend auf dem verbundinternen, jährlichen „Bericht der Verbundzentrale“, wird die Arbeit des Österreichischen Bibliothekenverbundes und seiner Verbundzentrale vom Zeitraum April 2023 bis April 2024 der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt.

Am 28. September 2023 fand in der Aula am Campus der Universität Wien die „Tagung wissenschaftliche Abschlussarbeiten und Hochschulschriften-Repositorien“, kurz tawiab2023, statt. Diese stand im Zeichen der Schwerpunkte Urheberrecht, Plagiatsprüfung, Ablieferung von Dissertationen an die Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, Barrierefreiheit und Vergabe von DOIs.

Am Beispiel der Nachlässe des österreichischen Ethnographen Werner Finke (1942–2002) und des deutschsprachigen Kultur- und Sozialanthropologen Walter Dostals (1928–2011) am Institut für Sozialanthropologie der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften (ÖAW) werden ethische Aspekte im Umgang mit ethnographischen Repositorien sowie neue Fragestellungen im Kontext von Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) diskutiert. Der Prozess der Veröffentlichung von Digitalisaten solcher Sammlungen ist oft mit komplexen Herausforderungen verbunden, insbesondere im Hinblick auf rechtliche und ethische Fragen. Der Einsatz von KI verschärft diese Problematik zusätzlich. Die Diskussion um die moralische Verantwortung und die inhaltliche Abwägung, die bei der Veröffentlichung sensibler Bild- und Datensätze durch eine Institution getroffen werden muss, erscheint vor dem Hintergrund der rasanten Verbreitung und Nutzung von KI in einem neuen Kontext.

Das 4. Juristische Fachreferent*innen-Treffen fand am 27. Juni 2024 in Linz statt. Die Teilnehmer*innen des Arbeitstreffens beschäftigten sich mit verschiedenen Erwerbsarten für eBooks und den veränderten Anforderungen an Informations- und Recherchekompetenzen in juristischen Fachbibliotheken. Rechtliche Fragestellungen und eine Diskussion über die „Dienstleister-Rolle“ der Bibliothek rundeten das Treffen ab.

Seit November 2023 gibt es die Queerbrarians, ein deutschsprachiges Netzwerk queerer Bibliotheksmenschen. Anhand der beim ersten Treffen zusammengetragenen Themen legt dieser Beitrag neben den Beweggründen für die Entstehung des Netzwerks auch dessen Ideen und Vorstellungen einer queerfreundlicheren Bibliothekswelt dar. Queerness ist in Bibliotheken im deutschsprachigen Raum ein noch immer unterrepräsentiertes Thema, egal ob vor oder hinter der Theke, im Bestand oder in den Katalogen. Das muss sich ändern. Die Queerbrarians und dieser Beitrag möchten diese Veränderung anstoßen, erläutern, warum sie wichtig und wertvoll ist und für eine queere Perspektive sensibilisieren. Dass dabei (bibliotheks)politische Überlegungen ins Spiel kommen, ist beinahe unvermeidlich, denn queer sein ist (bibliotheks)politisch.

Queerbrarians is a German-speaking network of queer librarians and people working or aiming to work in libraries or library institutions that was founded in November 2023. Based upon topics gathered at the first network meeting, this article presents the motivations for the creation of the network as well as its ideas and visions of more queer-friendly libraries. Queerness is still an underrepresented topic in libraries in German-speaking countries, whether it’s about patrons, about people working in libraries, or about the collections or the catalogs. This needs to change. Queerbrarians and this article want to initiate this change, explain why it is important and valuable, and raise awareness for the queer perspective. It is almost inevitable that (library) policy considerations will come into play, because being queer (in libraries) is political.

Der Beitrag stellt in aller Kürze das Konzept der Soundscape vor, wie es vor allem von R. Murray Schafer (1977) entwickelt worden ist. Ausgehend von Schafer wird in der Folge argumentiert, dass es sich bei der Bibliothek um eine spezifische Ausprägung einer Soundscape handelt, die im Kontrast zur gesellschaftlichen Umwelt als klangliche Heterotopie (Hi-Fi-Soundscape) beschrieben werden kann. Diese Hi-Fi-Umgebung trägt maßgeblich zur Entstehung einer lernförderlichen Atmosphäre in Bibliotheken bei, die unter anderem mit Begriffen wie „Bibliothekskonzentration“ oder die „Out-of-the-Box-Konzentration“ (Fansa, 2008) beschrieben worden ist und als Alleinstellungsmerkmal der Einrichtung gilt. Das Soundscape-Konzept ermöglicht hier eine neue analytische Perspektive auf diese Zusammenhänge, wodurch ein Mehrwert unter anderem für die bibliothekarischen Diskussionen um den physischen Lernort Bibliothek generiert werden kann. Zum Abschluss werden einige potentielle Anschlussthemen skizziert.

Die Frage, ob «Musikalien» wie Noten oder Musikliteratur Teil der Volksbüchereien, also der Vorgänger der heutigen Öffentlichen Bibliotheken, sein sollten, wurde schon ganz am Anfang des (deutschen) Volksbüchereiwesens gestellt. Grundsätzlich wurde dies schnell bejaht und bald angefangen, eigenständige Musikabteilungen und Öffentliche Musikbüchereien einzurichten. Von 1900 bis 1945 erschien zu diesem Themenkomplex in der deutschen bibliothekarischen Fachliteratur eine überschaubare, aber doch beachtliche Zahl von Texten. Diese werden hier in chronologischer Reihenfolge vorgestellt. Sichtbar wird dabei, dass sich Volksbüchereien und deren Musikabteilungen gemeinsam entwickelten, aber auch, dass diese Entwicklung immer eingelassen war in der Entwicklung der deutschen Gesellschaft.

Die von Hans Scharoun entworfene Staatsbibliothek am Kulturforum ist ein zentraler Ort wissenschaftlicher wie literarischer Textproduktion in Berlin. Neben der hohen Raumqualität dieser Ikone moderner Bibliotheksarchitektur befördert auch ihre charakteristische, von Wim Wenders sogar in seinem Film Der Himmel über Berlin (1987) ästhetisierte Geräuschkulisse, ganz wesentlich die kreative Schreibarbeit im Lesesaal. In diesem Beitrag geht es um ein in Kooperation mit dem Hörverlag speak low sowie der Medienwissenschaftlerin Hannah Wiemer realisiertes Projekt der Staatsbibliothek zur akustischen Vermessung ihres Scharoun-Gebäudes am Kulturforum. Am Vorabend von dessen Generalinstandsetzung soll damit sowohl dem Inspirationspotential der Sounds of Stabi nachgegangen als auch und vor allem die Möglichkeit geschaffen werden, sich die Staatsbibliothek nach Hause zu holen – gerade während ihrer baubedingten Schließzeit.

Der Beitrag beschreibt das Konzept und die Genese des Hörbilds „The Sound of Libraries – ein Hörbild der Stadt Wien – Büchereien,“ das im Rahmen einer Abschlussarbeit der Autorin entstanden ist.

Digitale Sammlungen klingen erstmal nicht. Aber dann. ‘Spoken Wikisource – German’ enthält Töne von Joachim Ringelnatz, gesprochene, Texte aus ‘Die Gartenlaube’, auch ‘spoken’, Stimmen und Ideen. Der Klang der ‘Gesprochenen Wikisource’ ist vielschichtig beziehungsweise kann und könnte er sehr vielseitig sein – metaphorisch als der Klang des Projekts ‘Gesprochene Wikisource’, durch die Stimmen der beteiligten Gemeinschaften oder der Räume, in denen diese Aufnahmen entstehen; zum Beispiel Tonstudios, in denen Sprecher:innen sprechen. Gesprochen werden Textquellen aus Wikisource akustisch erfahrbar. Wahrnehmbar wird dadurch nicht nur der Inhalt, sondern auch eine Textinterpretation. Im Bibliothekskatalog gibt es diese Möglichkeit noch nicht, die Quellen sind entweder als Text oder Audio verfügbar, hybrid selten. Beim Einsprechen und Hören ist ein Teil der Rezeption zu spüren: Wie verstehe und interpretiere ich den Text einer Vorleser- oder Sprecherin, die sich mit gesprochenem Volltext des Portals Wikisource auseinandersetzt?! Dabei findet Interpretation statt, mehr als eine. Wikisource gewinnt so als gesprochene digitale Sammlung weitere Deutungs- und Metaebenen – Nuancen, Zugänge und Freiheitsgrade, Bedeutungen, Links. Dieser ‘Sound of Gesprochene Wikisource’ ist ein Nachhall medialer Auseinandersetzungen mit … Text in einer Bibliothek. Die Autorinnen berichten, betonen und spielen dabei mit Aspekten der ‘Gesprochenen Wikisource’ in historischen, bibliophilen und modernen Linkzusammenhängen mit dem Podcaststudio der SLUB, mit den offenen Kulturdaten des Dresdner Geschichtsvereins, mit 'DatenlaubeJam' am Dienstag und Lesungen im Advent – ‘The Sound of Wikisource’ sozusagen, ‘read, spoken and linked open’.

The article introduces the concept of library music. We document different terms and use cases as well as the diversity of genres, pseudonyms and composers. Metadata is of special importance to make this utilitarian music findable and increase its reuse. The section on economics discusses marketing strategies, rights management and experiments.

Artykuł ukazuje rozwój księgozbioru Biblioteki Seminarium Duchownego w Sandomierzu w latach 1907-1918. Był to okres kiedy uczelnią duchowną zarządzał ks. Paweł Kubicki, późniejszy sufragan sandomierski. Natomiast funkcję bibliotekarza pełnił ks. Andrzej Wyrzykowski. Duchowni ci, wykorzystując sprzyjające okazje, tj. nowe pomieszczenia magazynowe i sytuację finansową, podjęli się modernizacji dotychczasowej książnicy seminaryjnej. Celem tych działań było dostosowanie jej dla potrzeb kursu filozoficzno-teologicznego. Podstawowym zadaniem opiekunów biblioteki stał się zatem rozwój istniejącego księgozbioru. Nowe pozycje pozyskiwano na drodze zakupu oraz poprzez przyjmowanie darów. W książki i czasopisma zaopatrywano się w kraju, jak również poza jego granicami, m.in. w Niemczech. Do najcenniejszych kolekcji sprowadzonych w tym czasie należy patrologia Jacques’a Paula Migne’a oraz Acta Sanctorum bollandystów. Natomiast ofiarodawcami swoich zbiorów bibliotecznych byli głównie kapłani diecezji sandomierskiej. Szybko rozwijający się księgozbiór seminaryjny wymagał dużych nakładów pracy, m.in. przy opracowywaniu i zabezpieczaniu nabytków. Inicjatywy te podejmował bibliotekarz wraz z grupami alumnów. W latach 1907-1918 uczelnia duchowna wzbogaciła się o kilka tysięcy woluminów, które współcześnie są częścią księgozbioru Biblioteki Diecezjalnej w Sandomierzu.

Artykuł omawia relacje łączące szlachtę lubelską obradującą na zwyczajowych zjazdach politycznych (sejmikach) z Kościołami różnych wyznań, obrządkami i duchowieństwem. Ze względu na aktywność polityczną i obecność w ruchu egzekucyjnym głównie szlachty innowierczej prezentuje konflikty hierarchów kościelnych z pozywanymi przed sądy kościelne przedstawicielami protestantów. Podstawę tych antagonizmów stanowiła walka na forum lokalnym, jak i państwowym o kompozycje (compositio inter status), czyli o wspomnianą wyżej ochronę przed pozywaniem świeckich przed sądy kościelne, dziesięciny i możliwość nabywania przez kler dóbr ziemskich. Dorobek historiografii poświęconej Giuseppe Garampiemu stale się powiększa. Zbliżający się jubileusz 300-lecia urodzin G. Garampiego stał się okazją do intensyfikacji studiów poświęconych wybitnemu kardynałowi. Historycy interesują się m.in. jego dokonaniami jako prefekta Tajnego Archiwum Watykańskiego oraz działalnością jako nuncjusza w Warszawie i Wiedniu. W artykule przypomniano główne wątki badań związanych z życiem i dorobkiem naukowym Garampiego, szczególnie w okresie nuncjatury warszawskiej w latach 1772-1776. Jego pobyt w Warszawie jako nuncjusza apostolskiego pozwolił na organizację archiwum nuncjatury oraz ubogacenie jej obfitą dokumentacją dotyczącą historii Kościoła w Rzeczypospolitej. Garampi rozpoczął też systematyczne studia nad historią nuncjatury w Polsce, a zebrane przez siebie materiały opracowywał jeszcze po wyjeździe z Warszawy do Wiednia. Oznaczone jako Miscellanee ecclesiastiche zawierają ważne materiały dotyczące m.in. jurysdykcji kościelnej i sporów w zakresie compositio inter status, ludności żydowskiej i procesów w sprawie oskarżeń o morderstwa rytualne, zamachu na Stanisława Augusta, Komisji Edukacji Narodowej i dyspens małżeńskich, żałoby po śmierci Klemensa XIV i wyboru Piusa VI, regulacji w sprawach postów i przestrzegania świąt nakazanych, spraw finansowych i podatków duchowieństwa, wreszcie spraw związanych z unitami.

W 1772 roku najwięcej klasztorów posiadała bernardyńska prowincja wielkopolska (37), następnie litewska (31), ruska (30) i małopolska (20). W sumie liczyły one 2359 zakonników. Z biegiem czasu wszystkie konwenty znalazły się w granicach państw zaborczych. W okresie kasat bernardyni stosowali różne strategie, aby ocalić istniejące klasztory i prowincje przed zniesieniem oraz zachować swój modus vivendi. Należały do nich: wykorzystywanie znajomości z urzędnikami państwowymi do ocalenia klasztorów skasowanych, prowadzenie przyklasztornych parafii, otwieranie szkół przyklasztornych dla młodzieży, próby zachowania przez prowincjałów i gwardianów pozytywnych stosunków z władzami zaborczymi, podporządkowywanie się nowym zarządzeniom władz państwowych, troska o nowicjaty, formację i studia, oddawanie się pod opiekę biskupom diecezjalnym, emigracja, starania prowincjałów u biskupów o nieprzyjmowanie do diecezji zakonników chcących się sekularyzować. Dzięki temu bernardyni ocalili swój modus vivendi, choć nie uchronili większości klasztorów przed kasatą. W 1900 roku, po zjednoczeniu z reformatami, funkcjonowała już tylko jedna zakonna prowincja galicyjska pw. Niepokalanego Poczęcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny. Liczyła jedynie 323 zakonników i 28 klasztorów. Stwarzała ona jednak podstawy do dalszego rozwoju bernardynów w wolnej Polsce.

Unikatowy charakter tych źródeł stanowi najbardziej podstawowy etap do podejmowania szczegółowych badań analitycznych nad monodią łacińską ośrodka płockiego i dziejami muzyki liturgicznej w Polsce. Księgi płockie, w których w różnym stopniu odwzorowano dokonania Zachodu, pozwalają uchwycić proces kształtowania się lokalnej tradycji liturgiczno-muzycznej. Artykuł przedstawia wybrane, najbardziej charakterystyczne dla źródeł płockich, śpiewy liturgii mszalnej (wersety allelujatyczne, sekwencje, tropy) i brewiarzowej (oficja rymowane, tropy, hymny, dramatyzacje liturgiczne) oraz tzw. płockie tropy wielkanocne – najstarsze pieśni kościelne oparte na łacińskich hymnach i sekwencjach. Niniejsze studium jest wyłącznie próbą sumarycznego przedstawienia dotychczas ogłoszonych wyników badań w tym zakresie, ukazujących walory płockich rękopisów liturgiczno-muzycznych.

Alors que la définition du mariage au Concile de Trente fait de l’échange du consentement la «forme» même du sacrement, l’union matrimoniale est conçue en Orient comme un processus, débutant avec l’accord entre deux familles, et s’achevant avec la cérémonie religieuse qui unit les deux époux. Le consentement de ces derniers n’est pas exigé, ou est vérifié au moment de l’accord entre les familles. Le mariage consiste en la bénédiction du prêtre. Les textes canoniques des Eglises maronite et melkite, et des cas concrets permettent de saisir le décalage entre l’enseignement romain sur le sacrement et le compromis local.

Artykuł ma na celu ocenę wartości Geograficzno-statystycznego opisania parafiów Królestwa Polskiego Karola Perthéesa z końca XVIII wieku, w zestawieniu z wizytacjami Kościoła katolickiego z tego samego okresu, do rekonstrukcji sieci osadniczej i granic parafialnych. Na wstępie przedstawiona została charakterystyka obu źródeł – ich podobieństwa i różnice. Właściwą analizę oparto na porównaniu informacji z pięciu wybranych dekanatów z różnych diecezji zachodniej Korony. Przy użyciu metody ilościowej scharakteryzowano różnicę w przedstawieniu sieci osadniczej w badanych źródłach, a metodę jakościową (analiza konkretnych przypadków) zastosowano do omówienia problemów związanych z określaniem przynależności parafialnej. Otrzymane wnioski wskazują, że w porównaniu do wizytacji Geograficzno-statystyczne opisanie parafiów Królestwa Polskiego jest źródłem bogatszym w informacje o sieci osadniczej, a przy tym wiarygodną podstawą do rekonstrukcji granic parafialnych.
