The obituary for Otto Braasch describes his life and achievements as an aerial archaeologist. After his career as a Lieutenant Colonel in the German Air Force, he turned to archaeology and monument preservation. Through his flights in a Cessna 172 aircraft, he discovered numerous archaeological sites in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, and the new federal states. His discoveries led to preventive monument preservation and the inventorying of over 35,000 sites. Otto Braasch received several awards for his achievements and passed away in August 2021 at the age of 84. [Extracted from the article]
