RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: This article examines teachers’ attitudes towards socioemotional learning (SEL) and digital technology in the post-pandemic era, focusing on the DigiSEL project. This project aimed to integrate digital tools and SEL to support students’ well-being and academic success, enhancing primary school teachers’ skills in these areas. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The study involved partner countries conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses to determine the needs of in-service and preservice teachers. The Italian team’s needs analysis, conducted through a Focus Group and a creativity survey, revealed insights into teachers’ attitudes and experiences with digital teaching and creativity skills development. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The authors introduce the DigiSEL project, detailing how it aligned with their research for the online course modules. RESEARCH RESULTS: The Italian team’s focus group outcomes highlighted innovative solutions for educational challenges. Initial frustration with technology evolved into a rewarding transformation as educators mastered its use. Online courses were identified as motivating and providing novel approaches to address students’ diverse issues, such as concentration and emotional expression difficulties. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Despite challenges, the project effectively supported educators in their roles and maintained their enthusiasm for teaching. Drawing inspiration from earlier European research on creativity and ICT in teaching, this study aligned with teachers’ perceptions of creativity as vital for students’ development and demonstrated how technology could enhance teaching methods. In conclusion, the DigiSEL project showcased the potential of merging SEL and digital tools to empower educators and foster student growth amidst evolving educational landscapes. More research should take in consideration the importance of SEL and creativity to enlighten passion in teaching with new and inspiring methods.

Prezentowany artykuł został opracowany w ramach projektu „Erasmus+ KLab4Kids”. Jego głównym celem jest przybliżenie czytelnikom idei edukacji STEM, wyjaśnienie jej interdyscyplinarnego charakteru jak tzw. „metadyscypliny”, a także ukazanie możliwości jej odniesienia do wieku przedszkolnego. Tekst składa się z trzech części. W części teoretycznej zwrócono uwagę na ponadprzedmiotowy/interdyscyplinarny charakter umiejętności STEM, dokonano przeglądu dostępnych w literaturze klasyfikacji tych umiejętności i zaproponowano listę tych umiejętności STEM-owych, które mogą i powinny być skutecznie rozwijane już w wieku przedszkolnym. W drugiej, empirycznej części tekstu, założenia teoretyczne zostały zestawione z wynikami badań sondażowych przeprowadzonych wśród przyszłych nauczycieli – studentów pedagogiki przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej. Omówiono tu wiedzę i poglądy przyszłych nauczycieli na temat istoty i celów edukacji STEM, możliwości jej prowadzenia na zajęciach przedszkolnych, dostrzegane przez badanych bariery, wyzwania i potrzeby w tym zakresie. W podsumowaniu artykułu zwrócono uwagę na wyzwania, jakie stoją przed nauczycielami, aby mogli oni sprostać wymaganiom współczesnego procesu edukacji uwzględniającego kompetencje niezbędne w XXI wieku. An influential conjecture concerning parameters is that they can possibly be “restricted to formal features of functional categories” (Chomsky 1995: 6). In Rizzi (2009, 2011) such features are understood as instructions triggering one of the following syntactic actions: (1) External Merge; (2) Internal Merge (Move); (3) Pronunciation/Non pronunciation (the latter arguably dependent on Internal Merge – Kayne 2005a, b). In this article I consider a particular source of parametric variation across languages in the domain of the lexicon (both functional and substantive) which appears to be due to the possibility of underspecifying certain features in some languages. The paradigmatic variation can be characterized as follows: language A has two (or more) lexical items which correspond to just one lexical item in language B.

In this article, we discuss the status of clausal ‘complements’ of Ns, which have recently been analysed by various authors as restrictive relative clauses. First we argue that they do not constitute a unitary phenomenon. Two types should be distinguished: clausal “complements” that can be predicated of the noun across a copula (with nouns like ‘claim’, ‘news’, ‘idea’, etc.) and those that cannot (with transitive nouns like ‘proof’ and with ‘unaccusative’ nouns like ‘possibility’). While we argue that both types are not genuine complements of the noun, we address some apparent difficulties for an ordinary restrictive relative clause analysis. Using data from English, Bulgarian and Italian we suggest that noun clausal “complements” of the first type are best analyzed as the predicate of a non-restrictive reduced relative clause, ultimately derived from an inverse (specificational) copular structure where the “complement” clause that expresses the content of the N occupies the subject position and the Noun the predicate position ([[CP That he is a spy] Pred° [DP the claim]]). Concerning noun clausal “complements” of the second type we tentatively assume that they involve the relativization of a propositional variable, as suggested by a number of authors.
