The flora of the railway stations in Graz has not been examined since 2001. Thus, the vegetation of the Graz main station, the freight station and the Köflach main station was surveyed in two excursions in early and late summer 2019. In the course of these surveys, 177 vascular plants and 8 moss species were identified. New species on Graz railway station areas are Medicago minima, Papaver argemone and Valerianella carinata. Further remarkable findings are Geranium purpureum, Lepidium virginicum, Tragopogon dubius and Tragus racemosus. In a comparison with historical observations of the station sites it can be seen that the vegetation is highly dynamic. Some species remain typical of railway stations, others also settle on surrounding ruderal sites. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
