Ungeachtet einer unmittelbar nach Aufnahme in die Klinik durchgeführten hochdosierten Steroidtherapie erlitt eine 69jährige Patientin eine Amaurose des rechten, zunächst nur teilweise funktionsgestörten Auges. Diagnostik, Hämodynamik und Therapie des Morbus Horton werden anhand eines kasuistischen Beispiels diskutiert. Vor allem wird die Bedeutung und Wertigkeit augenärztlicher Untersuchungstechniken, insbesondere jene der Ophthalmodynamographie (ODG), CW-Doppler und des Farb-Dopplers diskutiert. A 69 year old lady with partial loss of function of her right eye was treated with high dosage of cortisone immediately on admission to the Ophthalmological Department. Nevertheless she developed blindness of the right eye, while functions of her left eye could be preserved. The authors discuss diagnosis, haemodynamics and therapy of Morbus Horton particularly regarding ophthalmological examination techniques such as Ophthalmodynamography (ODG), CW-Doppler and Color Doppler.
