Greek scots pine populations are of great importance since they develop in one of the species��� southernmost limits of distribution. The purpose of this study was the exploration of the dynamic evolution, as well as the investigation of the structure and diversity patterns of scots pine stands in Pieria Mountains. The results of the structure analysis suggested the occurrence of the appropriate conditions for the preservation and the dynamic evolution of the studied clusters, provided the application of the silvicultural treatments needed. The diversity analysis of diameter classes showed the importance of tree distribution in different diameter classes compared to the number of classes. In addition, it was observed that when the age of the cluster increases, a simultaneous increase in diameter diversity occurs. The diversity of the crown length ranged at generally moderate and low levels in all site qualities and ages, as the majority of tree crowns belonged to the category of long ��� length trees. This thesis is a basis for further exploration of the dynamic development of forest ecosystems that are composed of species occurring in the borderlines of their natural distribution, and particularly of boreal conifers like scots pine.
